Lotions/ Creams -Burt's Bees - Shea Butter Hand Repair Creme
cloroxcowgirl 5/26/2009 12:53:00 PM
A very odd consistency for a hand cream. It is very thin and light weight - I do not feel any shea butter moisture at all from this cream. It just evaporates on the skin, barely moisturizing my hands. Not worth the money.

Moisturizers -Burt's Bees - Marshmallow Vanishing Creme
cloroxcowgirl 5/26/2009 12:47:00 PM
I like this moisturizer. It smells like bananas, and has a light, fluffy texture which absorbs easily into the skin. It really seems to soothe and moisturize oily and combination skin just the right amount without being greasy. I received it in a BB gift set and was sad when the little bottle ran out, I would definitely buy the larger size of this product.

Moisturizers -Burt's Bees - Evening Primrose Overnight Creme
cloroxcowgirl 5/26/2009 12:43:00 PM
Yuck. I have to agree with the other reviewers who said the smell is horrible. I am not usually sensitive to scents in skin products but this stuff has a really weird smell. I could (maybe) get past the smell if the product produced good results but it was a greasy, mealy consistency and I didn't much skin improvement. I cannot recommend this product.

Treatments -Burt's Bees - Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream
cloroxcowgirl 5/26/2009 12:38:00 PM
HG product! Since I started using this cream my cuticles are much healthier. It smells great - super lemony, which I love - and it moisturizes my dry cuticles and the dry and peeling skin around my nails. I have repurchased this product and will again in the future.

Treatments (Eye) -Burt's Bees - Repair Serum with Attar of Rose
cloroxcowgirl 5/26/2009 12:33:00 PM
I would only purchase this product again if I ran out of my HG face oil (wish there was a 'maybe' option). Burt's Bees is an interesting brand to me because I usually either love their products so much that they achieve HG status, or I absolutely detest them. The Attar of Rose Repair Serum is one of the few BB products that falls somewhere in the middle for me. I like the idea of using a face oil as a moisturizer, I love using essential oils and this serum has all kinds of good stuff in it. However, it consistently makes my skin break out and the oil is just a little bit thick for my combination skin. It would probably be ideal for dry and more mature skin. It doesn't absorb into the skin quickly the way a good face oil should. I have to apply it and then wipe the excess off with a tissue. I didn't see any major improvement in my skin over the coarse of using this product. I have since found a terrific facial oil from Mountain Rose Herbs (can only find it online) and the only way I would repurchase the BB version is if I couldn't reorder this right away. But they are about the same price, so I don't see that happening.

Treatments (Eye) -RoC - Retinol correxion eye cream
cloroxcowgirl 5/26/2009 12:07:00 PM
Hmmm, not sure whether I will repurchase this or not. The jury is still out on whether it fades fine lines and dark circles. I started using this product about two years ago and noticed a slight improvement in the skin around my eyes (it definitely tightens and smooths skin), however, I didn't notice any significant improvement of fine lines. It also dries the skin out a bit. It's pricey for the amount you get (unless you're one of those people who can afford to spend hundreds of $$ on wrinkle cream, then this will seem like a bargain) I found it on Amazon for bit cheaper than at the drug store. The packaging is kind of cheap too. I might give this product another shot, then again, I think I may look elsewhere for a better wrinkle cream.

Powder -Bare Escentuals - Bare Minerals in 1.2, fairly light
cloroxcowgirl 5/20/2009 5:18:00 PM
I bought this foundation a year ago. I had never tried mineral foundation before so had nothing to compare it to, but I liked the idea of not having to put on liquid foundation anymore. I tried BE and liked it, but as many people reading this know, mineral foundation takes a lot of practice and a few tricks in order to make it look good. I also noticed that this foundation photographs very shiny, which I don't like. But I LOVE the coverage. So I decided to try EM for a comparison and to hopefully find a more matte finish. I liked EM because it was more matte looking but I found it difficult to work with and it didn't offer enough coverage. I've found that it works best for me to combine matte EM foundation (in Fair-Medium) with a few grains of original BE foundation. They actually blend together really well and I get perfect, flawless MSBB coverage. Really, I think the combination of these two mineral foundations *might* be my HG (that's a strong statement about a foundation, but this is the best thing I've found so far). The only thing is that Fairly Light is slightly too dark and neutral for my skin tone, I will go with Fair next time. Other than that this foundation is great.

Eye Shadow -NYX - White Pearl
cloroxcowgirl 5/20/2009 5:03:00 PM
This is a great highlighter shade. White Pearl is a sheer, shimmery white which works well with any cool toned eyeshadows. I bought this and Vanilla Sky so I could have a shimmery highlighter for both warm and cool makeup looks. White Pearl seems to be a little more sheer than Vanilla Sky, which I kinda don't like. But this is still a great basic shadow that I would definitely repurchase.

Eye Shadow -NYX - Vanilla Sky
cloroxcowgirl 5/20/2009 4:59:00 PM
I love Vanilla Sky! It's one of the best highlighting eye shadows I've ever purchased. I thought it might be too warm for my cool toned complexion when I bought it online, but it actually looks good! It's a creamy pale yellow shimmer that works with all warm colored eye shadows - your browns, oranges, warm pinks, even deeper yellow or gold. It's surprisingly versatile and I use it more than I thought I would. And the name is easy to remember too!

Polishes -China Glaze - Recycle
cloroxcowgirl 5/19/2009 2:24:00 PM
Recycle is a lovely elephant grey cream, and was the color that started my nail obsession. The formula glides on well - two coats plus a couple of touch ups. The wear on this one isn't stellar, even with a top and base coat it only lasts two to three days before it chips noticibly. I still really love this color, even though my nail polish collection has grown considerably since I purchased it I find myself coming back to this color because it is so wearable and flattering.

Concealers -BeneFit Cosmetics - Boi-ing
cloroxcowgirl 5/13/2009 3:52:00 PM
I said that I would repurchase Boi-ng, but I am undecided on repurchasing it for myself. Let me explain. I purchased this product a few years ago when I went on a Benefit haul and upon trying it at home realized it was too dark a shade for me (shade 02 = medium and I'm very fair). I also thought that it was a little too greasy and creased under my eyes. Now, mind you, its been a long time since I tried it so I might be willing to try it again in shade 01 and see if I like the result any better. However, I gave it to a friend of mine who has medium skin and the color is perfect on her. She has red splotches on her chest that bother her, and this stuff covers them really well (I was amazed when I saw her with it on, you can't even tell she has red spots anymore, it's awesome). But she's already hit pan on this stuff and only had it for a couple of months. So I would definitely repurchase this as a gift for her. It is a great industrial strength concealer for problem areas that aren't already greasy or prone to breakouts.

Concealers -BeneFit Cosmetics - Lemon Aid
cloroxcowgirl 5/13/2009 3:43:00 PM
I've got to jump on the Lemon-aid band wagon and say how much I love this product! I have broken capillaries on my eyelids and this stuff evens out the skin coloration and also works as a great base for eye shadow. I also use it for under eye circles and brightening on the inner corners of my eyes. It also lasts along time, like most Benefit products. I've had mine for at least two years and only recently hit pan. And I use it every time I wear makeup. A couple of important things if you are thinking of purchasing LA: It is not meant to be used as a primer or on the under eye area, however, and you have to set it with a powder or it will crease. You only need to use a small amount. It matches my fair skin perfectly but I used it on a friend who is very tan and it doesn't look quite right. But I will repurchase Lemon-aid forever and ever.

Highlighters -BeneFit Cosmetics - High Beam
cloroxcowgirl 5/13/2009 3:34:00 PM
I bought this product to go with Benetint a long time ago. Even though I'm not much of a fan of Benetint, I will say that High Beam works really well with it on cheeks. But I love High Beam as a highlighter with almost any blush, or even by itself. I've had it for several years and am just now starting to run out. It is a very pearly pink color that will make you glow. It is perfect for fair and cool-toned skin (I'm told Moon Beam is the equivelant for warmer, darker skins ladies). The only complaint I have is that the packaging and the consistancy are a bit odd. But I would repurchase this product anyway, it's one of my favorite Benefit products.

Blush -BeneFit Cosmetics - Benetint
cloroxcowgirl 5/13/2009 3:27:00 PM
Benetint lasts forever because you only need to use a small amount at a time. It is a dark purpley red color in the bottle (which is basically a nail polish bottle), and it goes on a very pigmented flush. I'm extremely fair so it makes me look like I'm running a fever, I have to be very careful how much I use. I'm surprised to hear that it doesn't work well on darker skin. Another thing I don't like I about Benetint is that it is the consistancy of water, which makes it kind of difficult to work with. Especially on lips. I have tried a lot of other blushes since buying Benetint and prefer cream and mineral powder blushes because I can control the amount I put on much better. The only thing I really like is that it smells like roses.

Fragrances -Lavanila - Vanilla Coconut Rollerball
cloroxcowgirl 5/12/2009 6:22:00 PM
I wore this fragrance for awhile. I had been trying to find a great coconut scent for the warmer months and came across this at Sephora. It is decent scent, but I just found it to be a little too sugary for me. Not enough of a coconut scent. I did love the packaging and the fact that it wasn't full of chemicals, but not enough to fall in love with the fragrance. I have since sw@@ped this and have found my HG coconut scent in B&BW Summer Coconut Vanilla.
