Lip Gloss -Stila - Lip Glaze Stick in Berry
cloroxcowgirl 5/26/2009 3:52:00 PM
Berry is a lovely shade, definitely a keeper from the lip glaze stick line. It's a true berry color - a dark purple pink. It is a little sheer so it doesn't stay on as long as some of the other colors. But it smells great - like it's namesake only maybe a little more artificial :) but not in a bad way. It has a subtle gold shimmer to it, nothing over the top. Berry is not my favorite color of all the ones I own, but it is probably the most versatile.

Lip Gloss -Stila - Lip Glaze Stick in Blackberry
cloroxcowgirl 5/26/2009 3:47:00 PM
This maybe my favorite lip glaze stick of all the colors I own. I agree with the reviewer who described it as similar to Clinique's Black Honey. Like Black Honey it looks dark, almost black purple on the pencil but goes on a sheer dark berry color with a hint of gold sparkle. Fabulous. The staying power is good. And it smells wonderful - exactly like its namesake. This is the first lip glaze stick color I will repurchase when I run out.

Lip Gloss -Stila - Lip Glaze Stick in Fruit Punch
cloroxcowgirl 5/26/2009 3:43:00 PM
I love the Stila lip glaze sticks! I have a bunch of them and the colors are great, and the staying power is usually good, too. Fruit Punch is a bright cool pink on the pencil, but it goes on very sheer and glossy, very MLBB except for the glitter. There is no Fruit Punch flavor at all with this lgs, which is a bit disappointing. It has a genericl lipstick flavor instead. The color lasts quite awhile and I love how hydrating the formula is (sort of an unexpected perk!). I didn't think I would like this color as much as I do, but now I would definitely repurchase.

Lip Gloss -Stila - Lip Glaze Stick in Gingerbread
cloroxcowgirl 5/26/2009 3:30:00 PM
I was going to swap this lip glaze stick away, thinking the color might be too warm for my cool toned complexion. But then I decided to give Gingerbread one more chance. I have a bunch of Stila lip glaze sticks, and love them, but I have noticed that the amount and size of the glitter, the pigmentation, staying power and the strength of the smell (they are supposed to smell like different foods) vary between them. Gingerbread is one of my favorites because it truly smells like its namesake, it has great staying power, the color is beautiful and unique. It has just the right amount of gold micro-glitter - enough that you can wear it during the day. The color is shimmery bronze-peach, which I think would work on many skin tones. It's a great summer color. I wear it with a peachy bronze eye shadow and matching blush/bronzer. Love Stila!

Eye Shadow -NYX - Orange
cloroxcowgirl 5/26/2009 3:17:00 PM
Yes, it's true that NYX Orange is not what you would call a true red-orange. This shadow is most definitely a coral shimmer. I'm not sure why they chose to name this color Orange when it's clearly coral (read: mid-orangey pink), but oh, well. It's beautiful either way, and I was looking for a nice coral e/s, so I'm happy with it. It is a bit sheer, which is a problem I have with almost all NYX shadows I've tried. But sometimes sheer can work in your favor, especially when your dealing with such a bright color. This is a good, basic summertime shade. It's only a shade or two darker than Apricot Moose, and I use the two together, with Orange in the crease and Apricot Moose as a highlighter. I love this for a warm weather look!

Moisturizers -Eucerin - Extra Protective Moisture Lotion SPF30
cloroxcowgirl 5/26/2009 2:50:00 PM
I have been using this moisturizer for several years, and I love it. It's affordable, yet effective. It's gentle on sensitive skin, and protects my very fair skin from sun damage. The reviewer with the tan skin who said that some one needs to look like Casper to make this lotion work on them - well, that may be true! I have very fair skin and it almost matches my skin tone - it makes a good primer that way. But I could see it possibly leaving a white veil on darker skin. But for pale people this facial lotion works great! It's another product I always find my way back to.

Styling Products -John Frieda - Spotlight detangler
cloroxcowgirl 5/26/2009 2:39:00 PM
This is a good alternative to high end hair serums when you just don't have the money to spend. I have long, thick blonde hair that tangles extremely easily. This serum does a descent job of helping to detangle my hair, while smoothing split ends and highlighting the color. Concentrating on the ends of my hair and staying away from the scalp, it helps make my hair shiny and managable. You only need a very small amount, too much and your hair will look greasy. It smells nice too, hard to describe the scent, but it is a light and pleasant smell that stays on your hair for awhile. Will repurchase.

Polishes -SpaRitual - Liquid Metal
cloroxcowgirl 5/26/2009 2:10:00 PM
I wish MUA would add this brand to the list, I love SpaRitual polishes. Liquid Metal is a frosty silver white color with subtle micro-glitter. It's highly metallic and a great color year round. One coat gives a more sheer, natural look, two coats for a more intense silver color. The quality of the polish is wonderful - it applies evenly and dries quickly. Unfortunately, these are more expensive (they run $10 on skinstore.com) but the colors are beautiful and rich, and formaldehyde free. I want to purchase more colors when I get the opportunity.

Gels/Soaps -Kiss My Face - Moisture Soap in Peaceful Patchouli
cloroxcowgirl 5/26/2009 1:50:00 PM
Ew. I am not a huge fan of patchouli - I find it way too strong and cloying - not peaceful at all! It's way over used as an essential oil, and I only like it in very small amounts mixed with other contrasting scents. That said, this soap has a VERY strong patchouli scent which lingers long after you use it. If you are a patchouli nut like so many people I know then you'll love this soap. The soap itself is pretty nice, not too drying and rich and thick. The packaging is really cute, too. I have repurchased in other scents and been happy with this soap, but this one is not for me.

Lip Treatments -Kiss My Face - Organic Lip Balm - Ginger Mango
cloroxcowgirl 5/26/2009 1:45:00 PM
This was the first KMF spf 15 lip balm I ever tried. I like this scent, but prefer Sliced Peach and Cranberry Orange. I've noticed that the consistency of the balms seems to vary between scents - and Ginger Mango seems a little thicker and waxier than the others. Also, the ginger in this balm actually warms your lips a bit. It's not painful, just not for everyone. But if you like ginger this balm is for you!

Lip Treatments -Kiss My Face - Organic Lip Balm- Cranberry Orange
cloroxcowgirl 5/26/2009 1:39:00 PM
Love these lip balms! They have achieved HG status for me (with Burt's Bees balms a close second). Cranberry Orange is my second favorite scent (Sliced Peach is my favorite - to die for!). It smells amazing, has great lasting power AND spf! I like to use this scent for fall and winter, and Sliced Peach for spring and summer. I continue to try new lip balms, but I always seem to come back to Kiss My Face.

Masks -Burt's Bees - pore-refining mask with green french clay ] ] [DISCONTINUED]
cloroxcowgirl 5/26/2009 1:27:00 PM
A fabulous green clay mask from Burt's Bees. This product diminishes breakouts, smooths and softens skin, and it isn't drying. I like that it contains a combination of herbs, including mint which cools and calms facial skin. The only hassle is that you have to mix the mask with a little water yourself, it comes as a powder. But its quick and easy to do, and I don't mind the extra step for such great results. I am currently using another brand of French green clay with no additional herbs and it is more harsh than Burt's Bees. I would like to switch back to this clay mask when I run out.

Lip Treatments -Kiss My Face - Organic Lip Balm Sliced Peach
cloroxcowgirl 5/26/2009 1:09:00 PM
Honestly, I think this has become my HG lip balm. It's hard to say when there are so many out there, and I am a certified lip balm addict. But I always seem to come back to Kiss My Face SPF 15 lip balms. These balms are thick enough to stay on your lips for a long time, they don't slide right off like so many other balms. All the scents I've tried smell great, but Sliced Peach is my absolute favorite. It smells so deliciously authentic - truly like you are smelling a fresh sliced peach. And I love that these have sunscreen in them, something all lip balms should have, IMO. I just love this balm, I will repurchase forever and ever.

Toners -Burt's Bees - Rosewater & Glycerin Toner
cloroxcowgirl 5/26/2009 1:03:00 PM
I am a big fan of this toner, and have already gone through several bottles. My skin is combination/acne prone, so according to Burt's Bees I should be using the Tomato Toner, but that just sounds kind of gross to me. So I tried the Rosewater Toner, designed for more dry and mature skin, instead. This stuff definitely does not strip your skin of moisture, and leaves it soft and clean. It might be a little more moisturizing than my skin needs, but I don't mind. I would rather have that then have a toner that dries out my skin. A favorite BB product of mine.
