Treatments -Darphin - NIAOULI AROMATIC CARE

did not moisturise whatsoever, caused my combination/oily skin to flake up, but didn't ease any congested areas or heal spots/blemishes or scars. Disappointing, as the Disencrustant Lotion + Purifying Balm were so lovely.

Did very little to help my congested skin, and dried up my whole face (except the spots)causing flakey skin. Disappointing as it was quite expensive.

Moisturizers -Clarins - Gentle Day Lotion
rated 4 of 5

Just as effective as the night cream - helped calm irritations +provided very smooth base for makeup. Also prevented dehydration due to central heating + air conditioning, and prevented my skin turning red due to any environmental change. Is probably too heavy for summer, but the bonus is that it comes in a pump-bottle, which is more hygenic that jars. Will definitely repurchase.

Moisturizers -Clarins - Gentle Night Cream

Calmed my sensitive-dry complexion overnight - it really helped retain moisture + soothe the tautness + irritations. Only downside is its easy to contaminate because you have to stick your fingers in the jar every time.

Scrubs -Clinique - Gentle Scrub
rated 2 of 5

The exfoliating particles were not particularly gentle for sensitive skin, and the formula was not effective enough to clean the makeup from my face. There are many non-abrasive exfoliaters available at a fraction of the cost that would do the job more effectively. The packaging, although presentable, was not practical as it had a screw-on cap rather than a flip-top. Will definitely not be repurchasing.

Treatments -Neutrogena - Pore Refining Cream
rated 3 of 5

Both versions (one has SPF) of the cream left my skin soft + smooth. It's not really for clearing acne (and that's what it didn't do), but it didn't do very much to reduce my pores either. Will continue to use this as it is a good moisturiser that doesn't cause breakouts + leaves skin lovely + smooth in the morning. It's also nice to use after the Pore-Refining Cooling Mask.

Masks -Neutrogena - Pore Refining Cooling Gel Mask

Very good mask - it cleared up alot of blemishes and seemed to have faded some old acne scars, leaving my skin very smooth, soft + fresh, 'tho it didn't help with my large pores. The only downside is that I bought this on a trip to Hong Kong, and it's not available in the UK - I'm running out...

Definitely yes! Great overall conditioner for dry/frizzy hair with lovely mango scent. I massage some in my hair whilst in the shower + leave in for a few minutes. Leaves hair soft + smelling delicious! Bargain.

Lip Treatments -Garnier - Cocoon Lèvres aux micro-huiles de fruits + karité

Very cute packaging, smooth + silky textured lipbalm with lovely scent. It's very refreshing + a pleasure to use - a great bargain! I think it's fine for everyday use when the lips are not too dry, but you'll need something more intense if you have very dry/flakey lips. Elizabeth Arden 8 hr lipbalm or Superdrug Optimum SOS Balm (which is similar to 8 hr but much much cheaper) would be better for flakey lips.

Mascara -L'Oreal - Lash Architect Mascara Waterproof Formula
rated 4 of 5

Best mascara I've ever tried, + I've tried loads! I have very short + sparse oriental lashes, which always straighten out after I apply mascara on curled lashes. The waterproof formula is better than the normal one as it dries to keep the shape of the original curl, thickens + lengthens, and doesn't run or smudge. Because of the fast + dry formula, my lashes are quite stiff + hard when the mascara is on (as opposed to the soft effect created by Maybelline), but this isn't a problem.

Liquid -Lancome - Adaptive [DISCONTINUED]
rated 4 of 5
littlelamb 3/9/2005 5:29:00 AM

My 2nd review for this product - I still find it amazing after having used it for a few years. It is the silkiest and lightest of foundations whilst offering good medium coverage - even my large pores disappear under this. Gives a lovely satiny smooth finish, moisturises a little and not drying. Lancome has improved on the glass bottle - the neck is smaller than before so less product trickles out when you tip it onto fingers, however, it's still an inconvenient glass bottle. I guess you can't have the same formula in a tube. I have tried other foundations that I thought might replace this (Chanel's Teint Universel is great when you don't need much coverage) but ultimately this is still the best for me when I need the extra help with blemishes + scars.

Cleansers -Ponds - Deep Cleanser Cold Cream
rated 4 of 5
littlelamb 3/9/2005 5:17:00 AM

Very good all-rounder. Cleanses well,(though you'll need to rinse thoroughly after massaging in to skin), and leaves skin super soft. You only need a little bit, and you can skip or use less moisturiser afterwards. I have oily/combination skin which is dry in the winter - this cleanser appears to be heavy and is difficult to spread, but it didn't cause any breakouts. Also good for massaging the face - it really smooths the contours + evens out skintone. It doesn't remove w'proof eye MU effectively though, so I always have to remove that separately.

Masks -Dr. Hauschka - Rejuvenating Mask
rated 4 of 5
littlelamb 3/7/2005 6:35:00 AM

This mask hydrates beautifully, and it makes my skin really glow if left on overnight. Once when I was travelling and forgot my moisturiser I used this as a wonderful non-greasy base. You have to use more than the recommended dosage (the enclosed leaflet suggests 1x a week for oily skin, 1x a fortnight for dry skin) as it has an expiry date, + the website indicates using within 3 months of opening. I opened mine 4 months ago, the product hasn't changed, I use it 2x a week as overnight treatment + there's still about 1/4 left. At one point I was using it everyday for a week as I wanted to use it up within the 3 months (not really possible unless you use it excessively!). It's pretty expensive as all it seemed to do was moisturize (didn't see much difference with pores or scars), but I would consider repurchasing.

Treatments -Clinique - Anti Blemish Solution
rated 1 of 5
littlelamb 3/7/2005 6:10:00 AM

Strong stinging sensation from the alcohol once applied, but didn't produce any results whatsoever. The thick consistency seems to make the healing process worse, and the skin surrounding the blemish was scaley and peeling - this was after just 1 application and the blemish didn't budge. Not recommended - try cheaper alternatives.

Cleansers -Clean & Clear - Advantage Acne Cleanser
rated 5 of 5
littlelamb 3/7/2005 6:00:00 AM

A generous tube of a fantastic product. Has really helped keep my montly outburst in control without overdrying. It's alcohol free, pleasant fresh smell, no irritating granules, and is able to exfoliate gently, leaving my combination skin really clear and smooth. I've tried some very expensive products, including Lancoome, Clarins, Darphin, Eve Lom and Clinique, as well as other Clean & Clear products, but nothing works as well as the Advantage line.
