Toners -L'Oreal - Pure Zone Pore Tightening Astringent

An effective salicylic acid product for the treatment of acne. My face always felt refreshed and clean after using this toner. However the fragrance of this product is too much for me to handle. All the Pure-Zone products reek like cheap, strong, men's cologne. It is just sickening and I won't buy any more of the products because of that.

Eyeliner -Clinique - Quickliner for Eyes

Good quality automatic eyeliner. They do have a tendency to run and smear under my eyes every once in a while, but that could just be my oily skin, (although I don't have a problem with Lancome's Le Stylo Waterproof.) Be careful to always keep the cap on, or it will dry out in a second.

Skincare - Face -Clinique - 3 Step System

When I worked for Clinique I would be overcome with an overwhelming sense of guilt that I wasn't using the skincare, however it never agreed with my face.My skin is oily and acne-prone and the soap, clarifying lotion and DDML seemd counterintuitive. Every time I would use it my skin would look better for a week, then all hell would break loose. Clogged pores, flaking skin, large pimples, you name it, I had it. It would always take a long time for my skin to recover, months sometimes. I know this has worked for some people, but I know more people who find it's been hell-on-wheels.

Hair Color -L'Oreal - Couleur Experte -hair dye / highlight

I have used this about 3 or 4 times and have had great results every time. I have used truffle and mocha chip to achieve natural face-framing highlights. The trick is to take your time with the highlighting wand and create skinnier strands of highlights as possible. It's easier to create fatter streaks than skinnier ones, so that's a challenge I still have with this product. Otherwise the color stays true even in my hideous hard water and the conditioner is fantastic.

Concealers -Lancome - Photogenic Skin-Illuminating Concealer
rated 3 of 5
missmarie1977 9/29/2003 5:15:00 PM

Great concealer for covering blemishes and the red ghosts they leave behind. The product has a very silky, dry finish, that can have a tendency to "disappear" if you have a habit of rubbing your face or using blotting papers. If they could make it more tenacious and put it in a more hygienic non-pot container this would be a perfect product.

Loose Powders -Lancome - Photogenic Loose powder [DISCONTINUED]
rated 5 of 5

A very smooth and silky setting powder. I use this in Ivoire, which lends a fine, sheer veil of coverage over my foundation. This powder never looks cakey or fakey and creates a perfect canvas. My only problem with this is the new packaging. Why did they change this? The new, clear, screwtop pot looks so cheap, plus there's less product than the older black case, but it's still the same price! Sadly, all the new Lancome packaging looks cheaper and flimsier, but what can you do?

Liquid -Lancome - Adaptive [DISCONTINUED]

Ugh! Hated this foundation! This slipped and slid all over my face and created absolutely no coverage. My pores were exacerbated and flaws were magnified. Yuck! Where are the mattifying powders in this? It felt too moisturizing and sheer, not at all what I expected. Ironically, even though I have oily skin, I like Photogenic, which is for normal skin, much better.

Blush -Neutrogena - Healthy Skin Blends Sheer Highlighting Blush
rated 5 of 5

My all time favorite, favorite, favorite blush! I always come back to divine wine for my pale face, and it gives such a healthy look with just a hint of shine that doesn't make my face look greasy or flawed. I've tried Chanel, Lancome, EL, etc., and nothing compares to the smooth application and suberb quality of this blush.

Liquid -Maybelline - Wonder Finish
rated 4 of 5

My new favorite foundation! I work in the cosmetics industry so I have my pick of all sorts of expensive, high-end goodies, and I keep coming back to this. The coverage is actually quite moderate and gives my skin a silky glow. The only drawback is that the lightest color is still a tad dark for me and the staying power of the foundation leaves something to be desired. The packaging also creates a tendency to spill the product all over your fingers, but I can live with that. Oh, no breakouts either! Love that!

Cleansers -Dove - Essential Nutrients Cleansing Pillows
rated 4 of 5

Love these pillows! I was hesitant to use these at first since I have oily, acne-prone skin and the pillows do conatain mineral oil, but I've had great results. The little pillows clean off all my make-up, exfoliate my skin with the scrubby side and leave my face feeling refreshed and clean. The pillows sometimes have a habit of bursting from the sides, and the packaging is rather bulky, but I'm willing to get over that since most of the time they puff up just fine.
