Eyeliner -Stila - Stila Kajal Eye Liner in Smokey Quartz
rated 3 of 5

***EDIT 3/27/09*** This was a complete waste of $18. Yes, the color is really pretty and super, super soft, but even after working at it, I've decided this particular kohl eyeliner is just TOO soft for my liking. Even with primer, smudging and layering eyeshadow, this liner just will not last on my eyelids. *** Very, very soft! Applies very smoothly, but it smudges like crazy. I try to smudge the color anyway just to help the inevitable, but the color travels under my eyes within hours. I really liked the color of this liner and wanted to make this a staple in my daily routine, but I don't have the patience for it!

Eye Shadow -Stila - Baked Eyeshadow Trio - Gold Glow
rated 4 of 5
ickdragon 2/28/2009 7:21:00 AM

I like this trio!! These colors can create a lovely neutral summery eye or a lovely smokey gold eye. I used to think I couldn't wear gold-toned eyeshadows, but now I'm finding that they actually look really great with my green eyes. This shadows apply very smoothly like most Stila shadows and the color lasts a long time on my lids. I'm excited for summer and my new gold eyeshadow!!

Mascara -Stila - Fiber Optics
rated 2 of 5
ickdragon 2/28/2009 7:19:00 AM

This Stila mascara was slightly better, but it's still not great. The curved brush helps coat all the little hairs at the inner corner of your eye and the color builds quickly. Just like Major Lash, this mascara takes a while to dry. I don't understand that about Stila mascaras. Is it something to do with their formulation?? This mascara doesn't flake as badly as Major Lash, but it still flakes. It wears better, however, and it lasts longer through the day and the night. I also received this mascara as part of a set and wouldn't repurchase on it's own.

Mascara -Stila - Major Lash Mascara

Not a fan at all. It applies easily, but takes forever to dry. This mascara doesn't layer very well and doesn't do anything special for my lashes. It slightly accentuates the length, but the result is very very natural, almost like I'm wearing nothing at all. To really test a mascara, I'll wear it all day and then sleep on it one night to see how it holds up to some "Wear and Tear." This mascara had all but disappeared by morning, so not good. Weird chemically smell, too. Received this as part of a gift; definitely would not purchase on my own.

Eyeliner -Stila - Smudge Pots gel eye-liner
rated 4 of 5
ickdragon 2/28/2009 7:13:00 AM

I have this in black, bronze and gray from the Smudge Pot Trio gift set. So far, I've only tried the bronze and I must say that I really really like the color. The product applies smoothly and sets quickly. I've noticed a little fallout as the day goes on, but nothing too significant. The little eyeliner brush that came with the set makes applying this liner a snap. I haven't tried this as a shadow, and really, I'm kind of scared to. I think it might just be too much color for me and even though it sets nicely as an eyeliner, I think the texture might be a little weird for an all over shadow compared to the texture of the regular Stila shadows. I don't find this product too portable, however, so I'm taking one lippie off for that only.

Eye Shadow -Stila - Eyeshadow

This is some of the best eyeshadow I've ever used. I used to ignore Stila as a brand because ??? Funny enough, I was constantly on the lookout for better neutral shadows. Little did I know that Stila does neutral shadows best. Stila's eyeshadows apply smoothly and last a long time. I like that they offer both shimmer and matte shadows, although I do prefer shimmer for the most part. I also appreciate that their shimmer does not include actual glimmer. Yay for subtle sparkles! Each individual shadow pan costs $18, which is kind of steep, but I'm hoping they last a while to make the cost worth it. I like that they are sold individually so you can create your own palette or use separate pots. Of course, that adds to the cost, but it's worth it for the flexibility.

Mascara -Lancome - Definicils Mascara
rated 5 of 5
ickdragon 2/27/2009 11:51:00 PM

This is such a great mascara. Lancome mascaras are some of the best available mascaras on the market, but Definicils is my personal favorite. Definicils gives me a perfect (think fake lashes) set of long, lush lashes that are super dark, long-lasting and flake-free. The power of Lancome mascara is such that I can even sleep with this mascara on and still wake up to perfect lashes the next day. Keep in mind this is not a volumizing mascara, but a lengthening mascara. The trick is to really work it into the base of the lashes for a thicker look and the mascara will work it's magic for the length!

Eye Primer -Urban Decay - Eyeshadow Primer Potion - Original (UDPP)
rated 5 of 5
ickdragon 2/27/2009 11:27:00 PM

I LOVE THIS STUFF!!! I finally broke down and made the switch from Too Faced Shadow Insurance. I'm so glad I did. Since buying UDPP, I've had absolutely zero problems with creasing. SI would crease a little after a couple of hours, but not UDPP! It keeps your makeup looking as fresh as you first applied it all day long. I like the tube with applicator because it makes applying the correct amount on each eye easier than with the squeeze tube. I can see how getting the last bit of product out of this tube is going to be a problem, but I'm not going to worry about that now. I'm so happy with this purchase!!!

Blush -BeneFit Cosmetics - Georgia ] ] [DISCONTINUED]
rated 4 of 5
ickdragon 2/27/2009 11:17:00 PM

To echo the general sentiment on here: this is not a blush, but actually, an all over. I LOVE this product!! I love the smell, the smooth way it applies, this light shimmer of color infused onto my skin. I love layering this product with Stila's convertible colors on my cheeks. It adds a very pretty highlighting effect. The box isn't m/u bag friendly, but I don't absolutely hate the shape. I don't even hate the brush that comes with the powder, but I do prefer to use a different brush for better application. This was given to me as a gift so I can't comment fairly on the price, but I do think $28 is a little absurd. Hopefully, this will last a long time to off-set such a high price.

Blush -Stila - Convertible Color
rated 4 of 5
ickdragon 2/27/2009 11:11:00 PM

I have Stila's convertible color in Gerbera and Lillium. I was never a cream blush gal because of my oily skin. This is the first cream blush product that I can wear that actually wears well. It blends easily, leaves a believable blush of color and it lasts a good while. If I layer the product with some powder or powder blush, it lasts a little longer. I don't love having to dip my fingers into the compact every time, but I use clean fingers, so I'm hoping germs won't be a problem. I tried using this on my lips, but I didn't like the colors as lip colors and I didn't like the look and feel of the product on my lips either. $25 a pop is kind of expensive, but I can see how this will last a long while.

Highlighters -Stila - All Over Glow in Peachy Keen
rated 1 of 5
ickdragon 2/27/2009 11:08:00 PM

I had read the reviews for this product before purchasing it, but even so, I couldn't resist; it just looked too pretty! To be on the safe side, I made sure to wait until BeautyCrunch had it for sale before potentially wasting my money. I'm glad I did. The product itself IS really pretty. The all over face color is a bit too orange for my liking, but a color swatch on my skin doesn't look as scary. The pink highlighter is really the best part: it's light and sparkly and makes the corner of my eyes pop. The weird thing with this product is it doesn't apply the same way it swatches. When I apply the all over face color, I literally can't see a difference! I tried layering a few applications and still can't see where it goes....I don't even look a little bit orange. So weird! I'm sad because this product had great potential and it just doesn't work. I'll continue to use the highlighter portion, but other than that, the product is going to be a waste. I'm glad I only paid $7 for this box that's going to sit in my m/u collection. Lesson learned..

Highlighters -Stila - All Over Shimmer
rated 4 of 5
ickdragon 2/27/2009 11:00:00 PM

More is actually better for me when it comes to this product. I tried using it sparingly when I first got it: one little dot on each cheekbone and one on my nose, but I couldn't see the product after I blended it. I think the trick is to apply a little more than you think is necessary because truthfully, when you start to blend it, you actually remove more of the product than you think. I have #3 which is a beautiful gold dewey shimmer. It looks really pretty under the convertible colors or just on it's own for some "natural glow." $22 is kind of expensive for such a little bottle, but there's a TON of product in that little bottle. It will easily last you a year plus, even with daily use. Another good Stila product!

Tinted Moisturizer -Stila - Illuminating Tinted Moisturizer in Shade 1
rated 4 of 5
ickdragon 2/27/2009 10:56:00 PM

This is a really pretty tinted moisturizer from Stila. Since I have combo skin, I can't use it all-over. I tried that for a couple of days and ended up looking like a greaseball after two hours each time. I've been using this sparingly as a highlighter on my temples and cheekbones and it's a nice pick-me-up for days when I look like death. It sinks in pretty quickly and since I'm using only a little bit, the ensuing oiliness is fairly minimal. I received this as part of the Gift of Glow set, so I'm not sure what it costs individually or if I would purchase it separately. I've noticed Stila tends to include this in most of their gift packages so I don't think I would have to repurchase it separately even if I wanted to. Good product....

Moisturizers -Neutrogena - Oil Free Moisture - SPF 15
rated 2 of 5
ickdragon 2/27/2009 10:52:00 PM

Just an ok product for me. The pluses - Product sinks in quickly and doesn't have a strong sunscreen smell. Handy moisturizer plus sunscreen eliminates need for two products. The negatives - SPF 15 isn't high enough protection if you're going outdoors for an extended period of time. My face became greasy very quickly and I hated smelling like sunscreen and feeling like there was an oil spill on my face. The product retails for around $12 which is expensive for a somewhat inadequate product.

Treatments (Eye) -Neutrogena - Ageless Restoratives Energy Renewal Eye Cream
rated 3 of 5
ickdragon 2/27/2009 10:41:00 PM

I'm kind of on the fence with this eye cream. I like it, but I'm not sure it's worth it. I use this morning and night as an overall eye moisturizer. I purchased the product as a moisturizer, but also because of the claim that it would re-energize my eye area in 2 weeks. I have dark circles that aren't hereditary, but more environmental (aka not sleeping), but I also seem the beginning of tiny fine lines. Apart from it's moisturizing properties, I'm not sure what else this eye cream is doing for me. It has really finely milled gold shimmer that I'm guessing is the "renewal" property of the cream. The smell is very light and goes away quickly. The regular price of the jar is around $17.99, but I paid around $11 on sale. All that being said, I wish there was a Maybe option for "Would you buy this product again."
