Polishes -Superdrug - MeMeMe Nail polish in Glamour
rated 1 of 5

I bought this because it's a nice pretty coral colour and Rimmel didn't have any of theirs left. It was only £1.99 so if it was rubbish it wouldn't bother me that much. It was rubbish. It was thick and gloopy and I couldn't apply it without streaks. I let it dry, which took ages, and took it off again when it was obvious the streaks were staying. Taking it off made a mess too. It got everywhere. I won't buy this again. I'm going back to Rimmel polishes.

Gels/Soaps -Superdrug - Juicy Bar Soap

I have this in Mandarin and it smells exactly like the satsuma soap from the Body Shop, only it's £1. It's not drying, the scent doesn't linger and it's vegan friendly. It makes my bathroom smell great too.

Toners -Garnier - Fresh Toner

I love this toner. It helps even out my skin tone and gets rid of any remaining makeup/cleanser etc without causing me to break out or end up with dry skin. It smells great and works.

Cleansers -Boots - Botanics Sensitive Skin Soothing Cleansing Lotion
rated 3 of 5

This takes so long to use, I go through loads of cotton pads to clean my face and the pump seems to push the product out in any old direction even though it's not blocked. That said it doesn't irritate my eyes or skin and leaves me moisturised but slightly sticky and I then have to use toner. It would easier to just use a normal face wash. It's OK but I won't buy it again.

I don't wear a lot of eye makeup but this works well enough at getting my mascara and concealor off. It is very oily though.

Lotions/ Creams -Boots - Expert Sensitive Moisture Boost Body Lotion

Awesome stuff! And cheap too - only £2.50 though I saw it for 80p the other day. I find it very moisturising even if I don't use it straight after a shower but at night. Keeps the flakies away and absorbs well. I will get this again.

Lip Treatments -The Body Shop - Lip Care Stick - Cocoa Butter
rated 4 of 5

I bought this when my lips were really dry and gross. I find it works great to moisturise my lips but it does seem to sit on top of them for a while before soaking in. The only down side I've found is it starts to melt of I keep it in my pocket. I'm still on my first tube of this and would re-purchase.

Liquid -Estee Lauder - Double Wear LIGHT Foundation SPF10
rated 4 of 5
curlylaura 6/17/2008 6:21:00 AM

This is my first liquid foundation and I was hoping for better. When I was at the sales counter it looked good but since buying it and using it over the last few weeks it has turned my skin into a zitty mess (the tiny ones that make your skin feel like sandpaper). It also turns cakey on me no matter what I do before hand (exfoliate, moisturise, primer etc), it settled into my pores. It's OK but I'm sure there must be better out there. EDIT: I figured out what the problem was, I was being too heavy handed with this foundation. I have bought it again and will keep using it.

Primer/ Corrector -BeneFit Cosmetics - Dr Feelgood

I quite like this product. It helps my foundation go on much easier and if I don't use it one day I notice the difference. It does seem to dry out in the tin and I have to warm it up to use it sometimes. If I put too much on the sponge it can get a bit waxy and kind of balls up, I get rid of this by sweeping over my face with a clean brush. I like the scent too. Knocked off a lippie for the price (£20!).

Lip Gloss -Unlisted Brand - Playboy Beauty In the Mood Lipgloss
rated 5 of 5
curlylaura 6/9/2008 2:45:00 PM

I have this in 'Not in the Mood' it's a light pink and must be one of the only lipglosses I've tried that isn't sticky or gloopy. I love it. It's a pretty pink that would go with any skin tone and it doesn't become an ugly colour when it changes. I am going to get the 'In the Mood' lipgloss next.

Mascara -Rimmel - Glam Eyes
rated 3 of 5

Cute tube but the mascara started to go clumpy very soon after I first opened it. It did give me separated lashes but now I get separated lashes with clumps that need combing out. The brush is also kind of awkward, 2 sides are for thickening the lashes and the other 2 for separating. It's an OK mascara but I wouldn't buy it again.

Eye Shadow -New York Color - Smooth Mineral Loose Eye Powder Kit
rated 4 of 5
curlylaura 5/26/2008 3:00:00 PM

I have this in Espresso, brown is too light for me and black too dark so this seemed a good compromise. It is great as an eyeliner and an eye shadow. It applies easily and blends well. I haven't used the sealer yet. the small brush it comes with is kind of hard to use as it is so short, but it did the job when I didn't have my proper brush with me.

Misc Beauty Tools -The Body Shop - Facial Brush
rated 3 of 5
curlylaura 5/4/2008 11:53:00 AM

This is the only facial brush I've ever used. It's OK on my forehead, nose and chin but like some others have mentioned too harsh for cheeks. It does leave my skin smooth though. I only use this occasionally, usually when I remember, but I wouldn't ever use it more than once a week as I have sensitive skin.

Styling Products -Aussie - Dual Personality Anti-Frizz Cream plus Leave-in Conditioner
rated 2 of 5
curlylaura 5/3/2008 2:55:00 PM

I believe this is called Anti-Frizz and Conditioning Milk in the UK. It's awful stuff. It does nothing for my hair, it doesn't de-frizz or condition. I would not recommend it.

Cleansers -Garnier - Clean Sensitive Moisture Infusion Cleansing Water
rated 2 of 5
curlylaura 4/24/2008 2:16:00 PM

It's supposed to remove makeup without rubbing - I haven't managed to use this without rubbing, especially to get mascara off. It does remove makeup but it leaves a sticky feeling to my skin, I have to rinse my face with plain water afterwards otherwise I don't feel like I've cleaned my skin properly. I haven't had a reaction to it so at least it is good for sensitive skin in that sense, but it makes my eyes sting like the dickens! I do like the pump bottle it comes in and that's about it. I'll use it until it runs out (and use an eye makeup remover instead of this) but won't repurchase.
