Concealers -L'Oreal - True Match Super-Blendable Concealer
broadway0rbust 5/11/2010 9:51:00 PM
I have a problem with concealers: they either don't conceal enough or they turn cakey and settle in my fine lines. With this concealer, I find I get almost a perfect amount of coverage and no settling in lines. It is not irritating or drying (important when I use it under my eyes). IMO, it is pretty similar to MAC Select Cover Up, but I like the brush applicator with this product. versus the squeeze tube. It's pretty much my Go-To concealer.

Lipstick -L'Oreal - Colour Riche Lipstick
broadway0rbust 5/11/2010 9:44:00 PM
I really like this lipstick. I had to knock off a lippie for the frangrance (it's pretty strong), but I love the color range and the fact that it doesn't dry out my lips. Nice product - it's reliable, nice price, and I love the convenience of how available it is: if I have to run to the store to get it, I don't have to worry about going somewhere out of my way. Also, since it's so affordable, I can buy a ton of colors and not feel guilty if I only use it a handful of times. ;-)

Loose Powders -Bare Escentuals - Mineral Veil
broadway0rbust 5/11/2010 9:32:00 PM
This is my Go-To powder. I do enjoy the glow it gives me when I use it. Does it give me a flawless complexion? Um, not when my skin is all kinds of messed up, but when my skin doesn't have too many bumps, this stuff just enhances the healthy look of my skin. The only con is that I hate the container - just like every other powder out there. It may just be me, because I'm clumsy like that, but I wish there were a better way to keep powder. Other than that, I like it a lot.

Hair Styling Tools -Sonia Kashuk - Bristle Hair Brush
broadway0rbust 5/10/2010 5:42:00 AM
I am lemming pretty badly for a Mason Pearson, but I haven't been completely convinced that I should pay that kind of money for a hair brush, considering the experiences I've had with brushes that don't have hard metal or plastic bristles are not so great - I hate when bristles are so flimsy they can't keep stiff in order to pull through your hair! Luckily, I didn't have a problem forking over $15 usd for this! I love it! I feels so good on my scalp, and it actually runs through my hair, root to end! It's a great brush IMO, and could perhaps save me $100 if it ends up being an identical replica of the MP brushes.

Makeup Brushes -Sonia Kashuk - Powder Brush
broadway0rbust 5/10/2010 5:37:00 AM
This review is for the white handled brush - I love it! Cheap-o, yet soft bristles, IMHO. I don't find that the bristles shed as much as my Mac blush brush (forget the #), but does a great job of distributing powder. Sure, I could get something more lush and expensive, but this one works just as wonderfully.

Powder -Neutrogena - Mineral Sheers Powder Foundation SPF 20
broadway0rbust 5/10/2010 5:32:00 AM
I have been dealing with some major skin issues lately, and have had to really come down hard on trying out new products. Since my current SPF moisturizer has been making my T-Zone worse than ever, I have had to give up applying it to that area, but have been in a quandary as to what to do to add sun protection. After reading something on Cosmetic Cop, I decided to use SPF powder foundation on my T-Zone area - and I'm so glad I went for it! I'm not normally a foundation wearer (I use it mostly in the evenings or on special occasions), so I didn't want to invest in something that I wasn't sure was going to work out, but Neutrogena came through! This stuff is great. It has a very sheer coverage (I'm applying it with a powder brush instead of a puff), but somehow has given me that perfect, glowy complexion I have been striving for! Love this stuff!

Shampoo -Unlisted Brand - Selsun Blue Naturals Dandruff Shampoo
broadway0rbust 5/10/2010 5:19:00 AM
The good thing about this shampoo is it smells nice, the 3% salicylic acid is great for keeping my dandruff at bay (I don't know if I have dandruff from having hard water?). Anyway, I also used to get these hard, pimple like bumps all along my hair line and on my scalp, which was painful and irritating, but they have literally disappeared since I started using this shampoo. The reason I could not give it five lippies is because, unlike other reviewers, I DID find that this dries my hair. Even when I use a conditioner. I may have to invest in a leave-in though, because those darned bumps were painful, and I'd rather have drier hair than deal with those things again!

Blush -BeneFit Cosmetics - Posietint
broadway0rbust 5/10/2010 4:01:00 AM
Hmmm... I'm on the fence with this product. Since I have sensitive skin, I don't dare put it on my cheeks, so I have been using it exclusively on my lips. The pros of this product are: Nice sheer tint for lips, really natural lip look with balm over it, easy application, fun product to use, one bottle lasts forever. The cons are that I found it to be drying on my lips, not as long wearing as I had imagined a tint would be, (comes off just like regular lipstick/gloss when you eat, drink, etc.). Also, as far as the applicator is concerned, I would be wary of using something on my face AND mouth that just sits in the bottle that way. Of course, you could not use the brush directly on lips, but that's too much for me. ;-) In short, if weren't for the nice natural color it gives me as a base to my lip balm, I'd probably have returned it. Otherwise, I'll probably finish it - though its lasting forever!

Cleansers -Olay - Regenerist Micro-Exfoliating Wet Cleansing Cloths
broadway0rbust 5/8/2010 5:32:00 AM
The first day that I used these cloths, my skin look smooth and glowed. Then, on the second day, no so much. Unfortunately, I conveniently forgot that I am allergic to niacinamide - which is all over the Olay line - and my forehead started getting that rashy look to it. Well, needless to say, there wasn't a day three for this product. If it hadn't been for my allergy, I would probably have given this four lippies for ease of use (how can you beat wiping your face clean?) and what my skin looked like on the first day.

Misc Beauty Tools -Shiseido - Eyelash Curler
broadway0rbust 5/8/2010 5:25:00 AM
My HG lash curler! I have both this and the Shu Uemura, and I always default to this one! No pinched eyelids, no eyelashes getting caught in the ends, just a wonderfully smooth operating piece of beauty machinery! I love this thing!

Misc Beauty Tools -Shu Uemura - Eyelash Curler
broadway0rbust 5/8/2010 5:23:00 AM
I originally had been using the Shiseido lash curler (which is my HG curler), when I decided to give in to my lemming and buy the Shu curler. Well, I will say that this is a great curler. I have not experienced any pinched eyelids - which in my book, is up there! It does a great job and certainly lives up to the hype... but I love my Shiseido curler better. :-)

Mascara -Cover Girl - Professional Waterproof Mascara
broadway0rbust 5/8/2010 5:16:00 AM
So far, this is my current HG mascara. I have oily eyelids and wear contacts, and this has been THE ONLY mascara that hasn't flaked off or made me look like a racoon by the end of the day. If I could change only one thing about it, it would be to have a thicker consistency, but other than that, I love it. I also love that it's a waterproof mascara that you can wash off with soap and water! LOVE!

Shampoo -Sexy Hair Concepts - Volumizing Dry Shampoo
broadway0rbust 5/8/2010 5:08:00 AM
This really works! I have super duper oily hair (the kind where it starts looking 'wet' by the next day), and this stuff literally made my hair look matte! I love that you just spray it on like hairspray, unlike the dry shampoo powders. The only thing is is it made my hair feel so dry, just like how it would feel spraying a ton of hairspray in your hair and brushing it out. So, though I do really like this product, I probably won't buy another bottle of it - it seems to last forever! - I'd rather just wash my hair everyday than have it feel straw-like.

Lotions/ Creams -Kiehls - Grapefruit Body Lotion
broadway0rbust 5/8/2010 4:46:00 AM
The only good thing I can say about this lotion is that I loved the grapefruit scent! Other than that, this was a pretty thin lotion. It helped moisturize my skin on contact, but after five minutes, I found I had to reapply! I suppose if you don't like the feeling of a thicker lotion and are just looking for a lotion to overlap scents, then this would be a good choice. Otherwise, skip this product.

Lotions/ Creams -L'Occitane - 20% Shea Butter Hand Cream
broadway0rbust 5/8/2010 4:28:00 AM
I love the thickness of this cream! Since my skin seems to be drier these days, I find that it makes my hands feel so smooth and soft and my cuticles are nicely hydrated. The scent is pretty, though it may not be everyone's cup of tea. My only gripe is that it seems a bit too greasy for the rest of my body (go figure), and the packaging really annoys me. When I finish out the tube, sometimes, the aluminum cracks when it is creased, and the cap is a screw on cap, which is pretty hard to maneuver in a car when I'm dealing with rings and lotion and trying to screw the tiniest cap on! LOL! Other than that, I love this stuff and buy it often.
