Primer/ Corrector -Laura Mercier - Foundation Primer - Hydrating

I am not impressed at all. It is only a moisturizer working with foundation and nothing more than that. I also found it is not hydrating enough. My face gradually dries out after 8 hrs, which is normal comparing to my other moisturizers. For this price as a primer, I am not looking for something miracle but this one doesn't do anything. I am good with my existing moisturizers already.
It's a nice color, but extremely hard to work with. I found it can only look good on me (NC15) when layering over a dark color base or on my bottom lash line. This kind of layering doesn't work for me about 98% of the time and for something I can only use on my bottom lash line, it's really expensive. However, it's the best lower lash line color I ever have, so I gave it a 4.
I love this but not amazed. The right color gives a smoky looks and I love it. Blending with the left one, it's really my perfect everyday look. (w/ alhambra left applied first) However, I found the payoff is far from expected. Applied wet, they are gorgeous, but otherwise I need to re-apply about 3 or 4 times with really dense brush to get the intensity I love. For the color, it's 5 definitely. But for the texture, really, it's only a 2 or 3.
It almost looks like a taupe in pan, but Nars blushes always suprises me. It is a subtle plum on me! I don't really care about the glitters I see in the pan because none of them stays on my cheek. Highly pigmanted and stays until I remove my makeup. Love it.
Lip Treatments -NARS - Pure Sheer SPF Lip Treatment

Save your money. Go get a Nars lipstick(sheer) instead. It gives nice and sheer color but the Nars lipstick sheer does much better job than it. Also, it is a "treatment". It is not drying out but somehow I can't say I feel comfortable with it. Most lipsticks are better than that. I was just too lazy to return it, so it is now a lip balm. Applied less frequently than my previous lip balm, it didn't last a month. For a lip balm can only last couple of weeks, it is pricy. For a lip balm doesn't really do its job, it's truly a waste. The only good thing I love about this is the slim look.
I once loved it. But I still love the nice cool brown with lovely shimmer. Whenever I wore it, I got complements for my makeup. Only thing that bothered me was the texture. No matter what applicator I used, I could always find some brown flaks on my cheek, it just couldn't stay on any applicator. But the good news is that it did stay on my lids and never smudge or crease. Years went by, I found I can no longer wear it. It irritates. My eyes get tired easily with this on my lids, which is not making me happy. Sadly, I haven't find a dupe :'(
This is my everyday eyeshadow. When I say everyday I mean it. I love how the clean the colors on my lids. The lighter color (metallic rose mist) gives a super clean look and the darker one (golden champagne) is a great lid color. I can wear it everyday and want to wear it everyday. Like all the Nars eyeshadows I have, this one has smooth texture, great pigmentation and never creases. I would buy this again definitely. *When I made the purchase, I was choosing between AAE and this one. I didn't swatch them nor search other's swatch. Days ago I went to Nars counter and tried AAE, AAE doesn't look on me. The right hand side color is a soft, light peach, which always gives me a sick look. Glad I bought Alhambra!!
This is a powder good at what powders are supposed to do. It sets my makeup and keeps them in place all day and leaves a very nice texture. Plus, it doesn't dry out. This is a the color I am looking for for a very long time. Normally, colors of most foundations are somehow too intense on me (not too warm, cool, pale or dark, just too intense). This powder adds a grey tone to it and makes my foundation match much better. Also, this powder comes with a nice large puff. One thing I want to complain is that I always cannot get enough powder with the sift. But without the sift, it's too messy to use. It is really a wonderful powder, but if the container is better made, I will give it 5.5 instead of 5.
I love the blue pink and shimmer. This is my first Nars multiple, so I cannot say anything about the change of texture(dryer). However, I apply this with a sponge so that isn't a problem for me. With a sponge, my foundation stays in place when I have the nice color and shimmers on my face. This makes life much easier! Though this is one of my favorite color, it is only a 3-point product for me. First, it's a way to pricy for something I have no way to finish. (and after several month of my purchase, Nars released the miniature set in sephora!) Second, it needs powder to stay whole day. I don't have this problem with most of the blush I have. Third, price issue again. For $38, I'd rather buy two mac blushes. Nice color but there are thousands of gorgeous blue pink blushes out there.
I love love this eyeshadow. Great color, wonderful texture, stays all day (I don't need a base for this). However, I really don't know why it cannot survive air traveling. All my Nars eye shadows cracked after "one" flight and this is the worst. This is really an everyday eyeshadow for me, but the fact that I cannot bring it anywhere make it not a perfect product for me.
Eye Shadow -Estee Lauder - Double Wear Stay-In-Place ShadowCreme - Ivory Lace

Love this color and the texture. I can apply over my powdered eyelid easily! This is the most amazing part of this eye shadow. Not very pigmented but gives a very clear, beautiful finish. Also, it stays all day and keep other eye shadows, eye liners in place. Besides, it doesn't drying out my eyelid and under eye area. For paying $14, I have nothing to complain.
It does look nice for about 4 hours and that's it. It cakes and gives a dull look after that. This is the main reason I won't buy it again. The good things are it has nice color, doesn't dry out and with great coverage. I appreciate. One thing to mention is that after only 10 applications, it dents "a lot". I paid about $7.5 for one, which isn't really a lot but I cannot say it is cheap.
Mascara -Christian Dior - Diorshow Iconic Extreme (Waterproof)

I'm not impressed. It is not a mascara worth $28+tax. It gives "some" volume and length, a very natural look. It straighten my lashes if I don't blow dry the applicator a little bit before applying which is really annoying. However, it keeps the curled lashes in place and the glossy black look for over 14hrs, no smudging, no irritation, it got some credits for that (overall rating 3). There are lots mascara out that can do the same. Every time I use this, I feel like I am paying extra $15 for the brand "Dior" instead of the mascara.
Liquid -Yves Saint Laurent - TEINT RESIST Long Wear Transfer Resistant Foundation
yajuwen 4/16/2011 4:01:00 AM
It's a good foundation but not great. Quick several things. First, It stays, looking great after 14hrs without any change of color, which is wonderful. Second, it gives semi-matte finish without powders. I love the natural glow of the finish. Third, I don't like that there's no way I can tell how much foundation left in the bottle. Last, sometimes (about 20% chance) it dries out and cakes, especially on the days I don't have nice skin because of tiredness. This makes me have no choice but re-apply foundation again (other product). Overall, though I love the finish and how it stays, for a foundation with retail price over $50, it is too pricy for the result. For me who only buy liquid foundation about once a year, I want to try other products.
I dyed my hair with 21 starry night , which is the darkest color. It is a hair color that should fade gradually, I know. The thing I really hate to see my bath tub full of bluish gray water for about three weeks. I bought this to cover previous dyed light ash brown, it did the job. But only one week after, my hair was about a medium to dark ash brown already. Color is not my first concern, really. The reason keeps me stay away from this product as far as I can is that it left my hair fragile and super dry. Usually, any damage due to hair color recovers in about one month, but for this time, it didn't. I cut 8 inches of hair because of this. Save your money.
