Primer/ Corrector -Cover Girl - Simply Ageless Corrector

If you have dry skin try this! (and their concealer too, i havent tried it yet but i want too and hope it is the same formula as the corrector) I'm east indian-bengali and suffer from darkness around the mouth, and uneven skintone all which is bluish/grey in colour. i went on a crazy yellow corrector buying spree and this was the best out of all of them. thank God i've managed to make my skin look alot better with retinol and neostrata renewal peel but i wanted something to cover up slight uneveness without making it look like i'm wearing sooo much makeup (which is what ends up happeneing when you have bad skin:( ) plus its time consuming and not suitable for daily wear at school and college. i've found it all in this. the only flaws i see is that i wish the packaging were more a compact format, you know maybe flat with a mirror or something. cuz i dont know what i'm going to do when i get close to done and i have to dig my finger in (ew.) but at least the packaging is small and light so thats a plus. also the staying power is amaaaazing like the best i've ever tried. obviously its not perfect. but way better than colourstay or anything else i've ever tried. this is surprising considering its so moisturizing. anyway i basically use this as a foundation as i have very yellow toned skin. its a tad light so i'm going to try thr concealers for a better colour match. my dry skin loves this. my skin really feels so much softer and comfortable while using this. and touching up with this is a dream. i rmr with other foundations/concealerstouching up would look so unattractive as it was like putting foundation over already dry skin plus the 'cracked' appearance that foundation can get after a loong day. all that would only aggravate the situation. this foundation still gives sliiight cracked appearance after a really long hot day ut its better than others. and with other foundations touching up when i wasnt at home would sometimes mean patting in some moisturizer which i always carry with me, waiting for that to skin and then touching up. all very time consuming. a tip: if you have dry skin like me and touching up makes your skin extra uncomfortable you could do what i do. before retouching i wash my hands and generously apply moisturizer to hands and then apply this concealer specifically. you get the perfect amount of moisture without looking like a grease ball. i've been asked many times what foundation i use and have been told my skin looks very glowy. this is an accomplishment with my skin. i've switched from a powder highliter and blush to cream and all these three together have changed how my skin looks with makeup on. when ppl hear i use cover girl concealer they get very surprised and some look kinda of sorry for me lol! i don't know if i would suggest this for oilier skin tho..i love this so much i've bought a back up.

Concealers -MAC - Studio Finish Concealer
ubaydah 6/16/2010 8:46:00 PM
this didn't work with my dry skin. it settled into lines (i'm 20 btw). and i don't really have 'flaky' skin but it just gave my skin a veryyy matte and glowless, dull finish which i hate. just made my skin look even drier. however great colour choices and good lasting power IF you have oily skin. i can see this adhering well to an oilier skin type. but to my dry skin it flaked off.

i wanted to finish my bottle before writing a review for this (which i have) but thr really wasnt much need for that. i saw results from this after one use. seriously. ok so i found this after i started doing research online and looking into different peels. i did this because i'd been using yoghurt as a mask daily for about a year and loooved the results. i'm of east indian descent and like many brown girls i suffer with darkness around the mouth and general uneven skintone and i never go out without concealer or foundation because i'm very self concious about it. the yoghurt mask had done more for me in a month than anything else had in years. however, the yoghurt mask is messy and time consuming. i wanted the same results quick and easy so i found this and read the reviews on MUA. (this peel has some of the best reviews) and was not disappointed at all. i tried it one night and the next day at work i kept glancing in the mirror cuz my skin looked so much glowier. i've used this for i think about three months now and my bottles done and my skin looks so much better. i still have to wear foundation and concealer but sooo much less. my confidence is so much greater now thank God..and thank God for this peel. ladies i really recommend this i know the price is high but its worth it. (i got it for around $90.00 Canadian, including taxes at shoppers drug mart) i don't use the cotton pads tho. thx to one of the reviews on MUA i got the idea to just use my fingers. you end up saving so much more product. i wash my face with olay daily facial cleansing cloth every night, exfoliating lightly to get whatever dead skinn cells off i can and then while my skin is still wet i massage this in everywhere. including under the eyes and eyelids. it doesnt burn unless you rub too much or too hard. let me stress that i have very sensitive skin especially when it comes to sun. i've been diligent about sunscreen use with this and it hasnt affected me. however, a few weeks ago in toronto it became extremely sunny for a few days and my skin began to itch whenever i came home from the sun so i stopped using it for a few days. i use this about 4-7 nights a week usually 7 and i leave it on for over a half hour. at first i noticed that it was making my skin dry and now i use vaseline as a moisturizer every night and the dryness is no more. my makeup goes on so much nicer now. i will keep repurchasing this.

SUCH a unique colour. i've looked everywhere for a brown nude lipstick like this. would be a great nude lipstick for darker girls. i'm nc 30 and it looks soooo beautiful with a blue smokey eye. i wish it were a little lighter but thats ok. i just put a frosty lipgloss over top to tone down the darkness.

Treatments (Eye) -L'Oreal - Lash Boosting Serum
ubaydah 4/15/2010 3:24:00 AM
i bought this to wear during the day under my mascara because i use castor oil at night on my lashes and brows which i have been VERY happy with. but i used this a few times and no more because this makes my cream eyeliner peel off. i use wet n wild the one that gets amazing reviews here and is never faded on me before using this serum. secondly im very serious about my eyelash curl. i heat my lash curler, curl, do my mascara, let dry, heat curler again and then curl again. this stuff wont let my lashes hold a curl at all. even when using very little. waste of money. maybe i'll use it on my scalp lol..

Crème -The Body Shop - Flawless Skin Protecting Foundation SPF 25
ubaydah 3/26/2010 8:51:00 PM
I LOVE this foundation. more ppl need to find out about this stuff. i have melasma which is the result of medication or being indian or possibly because i'm really sensitive to the sun. hence, i've learned that peachy/yellow foundations make my skin look good. i got a sample of this and was amazed at how it didn't make my senstive/dry skin look dry. first i tried it on my t zone, and then my whole face. it really does make you look flawless! it looks soo natural on me. (i use 2) it gives a dewy look i find. which is weird because its a cream to powder foundation. i've never tried this during the summer but i hope it holds up. and ok im gunna say it: for me thus, far the staying power for this has been just as good as revlon colorstay. doesn't sweat or wear off however it is not as rubproof as revlon colorstay. (ie. makeup all over SO's collar/shirt:( ) Sooo, heres what i do. i kind of use this as a base/concealer. i layer and blend it well over my melsma (around the mouth, under my eyes..and then on the rest of my face i just use a really thin layer. i let that set and dry and then i use a really thin layer of colorstay to 'seal' it in. no need for other concealers. oh and you know that 'cracked/peely' look colorstay gives your face after a long day? this kind of helps with that too but not completely. this has medium to full coverage. i don't use the sponge i find my fingers work best. i also heat it up with my heater. (i know i sound ghetto but it makes it look so flawless) so far this has been the best foundation routine i've used since i started using makeup. so quick and easy to use, i love it. oh and the spf 25 is just the icing on the cake. yes it is kind of expensive and i'm not going to lie and say that a little goes a long way with this. (especially for me since i've got alot to cover) but seriously women suffering from scarred, marked, pigmented skin i know you could feel me on this when i say the price is so worth the confidence you feel. (especially if you've got blue toned/grey toned pigmentation) also women having a hard time finding yellow foundations outside of mac try this! i'm on my third one! if tbs discontinues this i will be soo sad:( please dont discontinue!

Mascara -L'Oreal - Double Extend Beauty Tubes
ubaydah 3/26/2010 8:24:00 PM
no drama with this. my lashes looked sticklike. i bought it because i had heard tubing mascaras were good for resisting smudging/flaking. i tried it with and without the primer. plus the primer with other mascaras but no luck. this didnt smudge and flake terribly but it still did flake and smudge. try cliniques lash power. much better staying power.

Mascara -Clinique - Lash Power
ubaydah 3/26/2010 8:11:00 PM
price: 3: like $16 CND, not bad for a HE mascara but dries out pretty quikly so you gotta repurchase often packaging: 3: only because the silver writing wears off quickly and makes it look ugly. but still cute. overall: 5 I would give this a 4 but until i can find something better it will be a five. ok so after starting to use castor oil its been a battle finding a mascara that won't smear all over my face. (ew.) especially during the summer it became a nightmare. i even considered not wearing any mascara (gasp!) i tried TONS of different kinds. thank God for makeupalley and i found out about this. on my top lashes it flakes. especially after a makeout session. however this is a Godsend for my lower lashes. darknes, defines, slight lenghtening-nothing major or dramatic but this is the ONLY mascara from all my trials this year that doesnt leave me wanting to redo my makeup after i look in the mirror after a 6 hour day. its def. not perfect. slight flaking and smudging, espeially if ur undereyes concealer/foundation hasn't set/dried yet. so this has been my hg for my lower lashes. comes off easily with warm water. however everytime it rains i get kind of paranoid. what if ppl see spider legs all over my face and think i'm weird? lol.. on my upper lashes this has 0 drama. attempting to layer and create drama causes clumping and later on serious flaking. i havent tried this over shiseidos mascara base on my top lashes yet. maybe that would help? i doubt it. but i have tried it over the shiseido base on my lower lashes and it looks good. cant say i've noticed LESS flaking tho. maybe i have to try that a few more times. in conclusion this mascara is a five because its the best mascara i've found for my lower lashes. (in terms of staying there and giving moderate drama). i also like how this feels healthier if that makes sense? like with other mascaras you have to pile on the olive oil and wipe, repeat. and you still have smudges later. but with this you can see in front of ur eyes that its all gone. and quite effortlessly. oily skinned/long lashed ladies or just ladies suffering from smudging/flaking give this try. i've tried the other "tubing" mascaras like the ones from loreal but they don't compare to this.

Moisturizers -Bliss Labs - The youth as we know it
ubaydah 3/12/2010 5:26:00 AM
I didn't expect to like this because of the bad reviews but i really did like it. i'm only 20 so i guess this isn't really for my age category but this made my skin look really glowy, smooth and bright. i don't know which of the hundred ingredients did this BUT i'm kind of suspecting the retinol? this is my first time ever using a product with retinol in it. it kinda makes me want to try other retinol products. i heard retinol can make your skin look really smooth and nice. and my skin did look nice while using this. but i've heard retinol thins out your skin and is best left to mature skin. but then i've read about other girls who've been using retinol since they were 18 and have great skin so i'm really confuzzled. NEWHO i really liked this cream. great for dry skin. it kind of stung when i first used it but now it doesn't. i would definitely repurchase if i could come to a conclusion that retinol isn't harming my young skin..

Brows -Unlisted Brand - castor oil
ubaydah 2/7/2010 10:58:00 PM
Yes, I am a believer. This stuff really works. On my hair, lashes, and brows. Ok so my journey started at the end of august when i all of the sudden noticed one day that my eyelashes looked much thicker and longer. I was thinking hard about why the sudden change and i figured maybe it was the almond oil that i'd begun using to remove my makeup/moisturize every night. i did some research and saw that the almond oil was probably what did it. so then as i did more reading i found out about castor oil. I only used it for about a month before i noticed a difference. my lashes are SO much longer and thicker. specially my lower lashes. do you know i had to go on a massive hunt for a mascara that would COMPLETELY resist smudging for my lower lashes because now they touch my undereyes. my upper lashes now touch my glasses (kinda annoying cuz i get smears os mascara/ss all the time but WOW!) as for the scalp..i have suffered from very thin hair FOREVER! (i had bald spots as a kid) but this + biotin has done a miracle. ever since i could remember my forehead has always looked SO big cuz of my thin hair. but my scalp has filled in soo much. the biggest difference i've seen it tho, is my brows. even just looking at piks you can see the difference. they use to be so scarce but now if i didnt want to fill them in i wouldn't have too. (but i still do cuz i like the look of dark brows specially cuz theyre in now!) you can get cosmetic castor oil from most healthfood stores and here in toronto you can get them at jamaican/ethnic food stores especially in chinatown. i've tried different bottles some that say castor oil cosmetic blend and that stuff smells good but its so watery that it gets into your eyes and burns. (tho it does work) the best is the 100% pure castor oil. has basically no smell and is so thick and almost gel like that it doesnt seep into your eyes. cuz trust me specially if u've got sensitive eyes or use contact lenses this stuff can burn. for lashes i rub a drop into the lash line and then run the remainder of the oil up my lashes (much like you would mascara) for my brows i just douse my brows in the oil:) as for my scalp (a little more time consuming) i use warm water on my scalp (because damp, warm skin helps you reap the most benefits of any skin product) then i part my hair all over my scalp (as far as i can see/reach) and rub it in for 30 seconds for each part. (to stimulate cells). and then i put a little in my hands, rub my palms together and run it thru my hair. oh but remember to brush ur hair FIRST cuz this stuff is so thick and sticky that it makes it hard to brush afterward. than i kinda massage my scalp. you can never do this and go outside tho! gottado it before you shower (leave it on for the day tho) or i do it after a shower when i know i'm not going out the next day or whatever. castor oil is very cheap and is definitely one of the many reasons i LOVE MUA! Thank God for this and im so glad i tried this before i spent $100 CND on that thomas roth lash thing at sephora. everyone should try. oh and i dont know if i mentioned but my lashes and eyebrow hair are so much softer and fall out less.
