Crème -Revlon - ColorStay Whipped Creme Makeup
trisheee 6/4/2012 1:15:00 PM
I was excited to try this foundation and purchased 3 shades, one at a time, but couldn't find a close enough color match for my NW25 skin tone. I tried classic beige, true beige, and sand beige. It's hard to tell if a foundation is any good when the color's not right. I like the packaging and the formulation but if I purchase two shades and mix them to get the right color, I may as well buy my favorite foundation as these run about $14 each. Ive searched and cant find testers any where! Have any of you with NW25 skin tones find a shade that works for you.

Palettes -Sonia Kashuk - Eye Palette in Neutral
trisheee 5/24/2012 12:29:00 PM
This is a fantastic palette if you're looking for cool toned matte brown, cream, and taupe shades with excellent pigmentation. I find myself using this (almost) daily. Most days I just want a clean, neutral, simple look and this palette does the trick...beautifully! Every shade is easy to blend and the shadows have great staying power. But the thing I like best is that these shadows don't irritate my sensitive eyes like so many others do. The two darkest shades work as the perfect liner when wet. I use a push brush with those colors and get a crisp line that's not too overpowering. Yep, I'm liking everything about this palette! And for $20 at target it's a pretty good deal, too. Highly recommended!

Mascara -Cover Girl - Professional Super Thick Lash Mascara
trisheee 5/16/2012 3:05:00 PM
I never thought I'd find a mascara I liked better than Prestige but this one is fast approaching HG status. I can apply twenty coats of this stuff and IT DOES NOT CLUMP! I'm amazed at the beautiful, thick, and separated lashes I get from this mascara! it doesn't sting, run, smear or flake, on me anyway. And it's only around $5. This is one of those hidden gem mascara's that should be getting a lot more LOVE! Will definitely repurchase!

Moisturizers -Simple - Kind to Skin Vital Vitamin Night Cream
trisheee 5/16/2012 2:57:00 PM
Edit: Apparently a lot of people agree this is an amazing night cream. I had to stop using it for a week because I ran out. It's sold out everywhere I go! Ive looked in 6 drugstores already, including one while I was on vacation across the country last week! I can see now, after not using it, that the skin around my eyes is getting crepey again. I really must track this down! I'll be heartbroken if they've discontinued it! Original review: This cream really plumps my skin and softens the lines. I had been using the Simple replenishing cream ( in the squirt bottle) and liked it well enough, but didn't find it moisturizing enough for my dry skin. I found this one, tried it, and LOVE it! It's so much more emollient! When i wake up my skin is nice and hydrated...and stays that way! I really like the Simple line of facial creams for their purity and effectiveness! I'm highly allergic to most of the ingredients in many products but I haven't had any issuses, at all, with everything I've tried from this line. I use the day cream with sunscreen, during the day, and the night cream at night (both in a jar) and my skin has never looked or felt better! Best of all I dont have to pay a small fortune for it. Would highly recommend this line!

Lipstick -Revlon - Super Lustrous Lipstick - Rosewine
trisheee 5/16/2012 2:40:00 PM
Since discovering these Revlon SL lipsticks I haven't even glanced at any other brands. They're everything, and more I could want in a lipstick. Gorgeous colors, long wearing, no feathering or seeping into those pesky little lines, non drying, and no fragrance! Rosewine is a beautiful combination of red, pink, orange and brown. It sounds crazy but it truly is a beautiful shade that, IMHO would work well on cool or warm toned skin...light or dark. For reference, I'm NW30. This shade can be worn as a stain or swiped a couple times for more opaque gorgeousness! I also like to use a little nude gloss over this for a neutral look when I play up my eyes a bit more. Rosewine is the color I've been searching for forever! If you want a bright, but not too bright shade that lights up your face and ties your whole look together, try this one! It's stunning!

Concealers -Vera Wang - Illuminating concealer
trisheee 5/4/2012 3:21:00 PM
I have to say it was worth the $19.50 I paid. This concealer is truly amazing! Incredible coverage, super hydrating, and doesn't sink into my lines. After trying countless concealers at every price, including, Armani, Bobbi Brown, Benefit...the list goes on...and on, I had thought I found my Holy Grail in Maybelline's age rewind ( with the roller ball top) but Vera Wang's is a close 2nd. After more use it may become my #1. This concealer is certainly worth a try if you have dry under eyes and need an opaque concealer that looks totally natural and doesn't highlight lines and creepiness. Good color range, too. I love this product! Will definitely try some of the other product in this line.

Moisturizers -Simple - Replenishing Rich Moisturiser
trisheee 3/31/2012 2:15:00 PM
While this isn't a emollient as I'd prefer, it doesn't irritate my sensitive skin and I'll take that over hydrating any day. I was having sever allergic reactions to cones and parabens and this was the only one I could find without all those and fragrance. Once I switched to this my skin cleared up and my allergies went way. I'm sticking with it. I feel that when you have a sensitivey to a cream it can actually dry your skin. After using this for a few weeks my skin feels less dry and more balanced.

Brows -Maybelline - Define-A-Brow
trisheee 3/27/2012 1:31:00 PM
Best brow pencil ever! For you MUA's out there upset by the dark brown being discontinued, try the dark blonde! Read on... I too was devastated when I discovered the dark brown was discontinued, however out of desperation and thinking the whole line was discontinued I picked up the only two colors left at ULTA, dark blonde and medium brown. Surprise! The dark blonde was a perfect match! Way better than the dark brown, which I now realize was too dark. The dark blonde is a quite pigmented and ashy brown/very dark taupe pencil that works perfectly with my sparse dark greyish brown eyebrows! The medium brown has to go back as there is just way too much red in it for me, but i can see it working perfectly for redheads. Aside from color, this pencil is superior to all the others I've tried, HE and LE, because the tip is so fine, the color stays put, and no fading! My brows look like my brows...only better. You can actually, and easily, feather on the tiniest hairs that look quite natural. Dark blonde is my HG all the way!

Lipstick -Cover Girl - Lip Perfection
trisheee 3/22/2012 5:33:00 PM
Edit: As much as i love this i had to stop using it because (im fairly certain) it made me very ill after a week, or so, of use. Some chemical in this lipstick does not agree with my system. And that's a shame because i adore everything about it! Severe allergic reaction, though! And I bought seven shades...Arggggg! This is some of the finest lipstick I've ever used...and being a lipstick junkie, I've used a lot! The shade I'm reviewing here (Enthrall) is a hard color to describe. To me, and on me, (NW25) this is not an "in your face" red but more of a subtle "go with everything" red. I imagine this would look great on just about all skin tones. I don't see any shimmer, yet it's not totally matte either; more of a glow. I've swatched and/or used almost every non shimmery color and this is my favorite! Oh how it brightens my face in a classic, understated way. Aside from the color being drop dead gorgeous, the best part is that it stays put and doesn't feather or travel into those pesky little lines, even without lip liner. It does stain a bit but I love that. When it does finally start to wear off (at least 5 hours later...and through lunch) it leaves behind an even finish the same beautiful color but with less intensity. So if I don't feel like reapplying I can just throw on Chapstick or gloss and Im good to go until bedtime when I take it off with makeup remover. This feels like weightless silk on my lips, yet it's not drying in the least. Someone has finally made the perfect formulation in a lipstick! The only drawback I can see (and I see that others have a huge issue with this) is that there is some fragrance, but it dissipates quickly and doesn't bother me. Weird, because I'm typically very sensitive to fragrance and intensely dislike it on my face. I have to wonder if some batches are more heavily fragranced than others because the ones i have are not really that bad. Not enough for me to stop using them, anyway. But everything is subjective. I could go on and on about this incredible lipstick! The two other colors I have, and love, are Fairytale and Heavenly, both Gorgeous. And to think I was not going to bother with Cover Girl again as I've been disappointed with some of their other products in the past. But this one...I'm RAVING!

Eyeliner -Physicians Formula - Shimmer Strips Custom Eye Enhancing Eyeliner Trio For Hazel Eyes
trisheee 3/21/2012 1:25:00 PM
I'm surprised there aren't more reviews for those little gems. They go on like silk and are bullet proof! I LOVE the taupe color best, but the other colors are gorgeous, too! Like the previous reviewer said, they're not extremely pigmented but I like that as I find very dark eyeliner aging on me. They're are a real bargain at $10 for 3 liners...and I got mine at cvs for 40% off. The only issue I have is that they irritate my eyes slightly...but then most everything does. These are definitely worth a try for the sheer staying power alone!

Mascara -Jordana - Best Lash Extreme Volumizing Mascara
trisheee 2/12/2012 6:12:00 PM
I'm SO impressed with this mascara! I've been searching forever for a decent mascara that doesn't irritate my sensitive eyes and I've found it in this one! I never dreamed it would perform so incredibly well. I've been losing lashes for some strange reason and have had to stop curling them as I think it's making it worse. This mascara looks as if I curled my lashes. It doesn't smudge, flake, irritate, smell funny, or clump. I can layer it and no spidery lashes. And best of all, it's a breeze to remove. I've spent a small fortune on mascara at every price point and nothing performs like this..not even close. I feel like I hit the jackpot with this stuff. And at $2.99...unbelievable! Had to edit 7/1/12: I still love and use this mascara but and curls them beautifully at first, but my lashes fall down quickly if I use more than one coat. I switched to Maybelline's One by One waterproof and am not looking back! THE. PERFECT. MASCARA...for me, anyway. Still use this Jordana when I need super jet black lashes but nothing beats how One by one can lengthen, separate, add volume, hold a curl, and look fabulous!

Lipstick -Revlon - Colorstay Overtime Lipcolor - Constantly Coral
trisheee 2/9/2012 12:42:00 PM
I thought this color had been discontinued after first finding it on clearance years ago. Was very happy to see it in their line again. This is such a perfect mix of red and orange without being too loud. I had to experiment with this at first and had all the problems others have expressed in past reviews. But once I applied a sheer coat on moisturized lips and let it dry for a minute I was overjoyed with the result. I then apply more sheer layers and build the color if i want intensity...though one sheer coat is so pretty and makes a great base for other lipsticks, too. This didn't budge all day, in fact, I had to use makeup remover to get it off. The color is absolute perfection with my NW 25 skin tone. It really brightens up my face without screaming Red! The hint of orange makes it warm and subtle. As I age I find that most reds just aren't wearable anymore but this one ties my whole makeup together when I want a classy, understated red lip. I don't use the gloss that comes with it and find it a little too runny for my taste. Instead, I use a clear lip balm. This looks great with a shimmer gloss over it, too!

Mascara -Revlon - Photoready 3D Volume
trisheee 1/10/2012 3:02:00 AM
Okay, had to edit as this has been a let down after using it a bit more. It started to irritate my eyes. ( My new HG is jordana's new extreme mascara. OMG! Check out the reviews on that one! And only $2.99) At first I wasn't especially thrilled with this new revlon mascara but I'm really liking after using it a few times. The rubber brush does a good job of separating and lengthening my lashes and holds a curl well. The thing I like best about this is that it's very easy to remove (unlike Maybelline's new " Illegal lengths") with just a swipe of my facial wipe...and I wear 3 coats. This mascara is not too wet or dry but just right. It also lasts all day with no smearing or flaking. All in all it's a pretty good mascara. May up the lippie if it continues to perform well over the next few weeks. Definitely worth a try, especially now when it's on sale practically everywhere.

Moisturizers -L'Oreal - Age Perfect Hydra-Nutrition Golden Balm
trisheee 1/6/2012 12:51:00 PM
I've been using this product for 5 days and will update my review in a month or so, but for now I'm digging this balm! I have combo skin with dry patches and this cream has evened everything out in 5 short days. I never knew my skin could feel this soft! If your skin and nose can handle the fragrance I'd give this one a try. I've used many, many creams trying to stop time from marching along my face, and while its too early to review it's long term results, I'm already seeing a marked difference in the fine lines and dry spots...especially under my eyes. It's easy to overdo this cream thinking more is better but only the littlest bit is needed...otherwise it's grease city. I use about dime size for my whole face and neck. The slight citrus sweet smell doesn't really bother me and I find it goes away within the hour. I paid $15 for this on sale and consider it a steal! Wouldn't be surprised if this turned out to be my HG cream! Love that it doesn't have sunscreen and that I can use my own. Works well under makeup if you let it sink in for 10 mins or so. I'm going to check out the eye balm as well and will post a review. I would say this may be too rich for younger skin, but for my more mature, dehydrated skin it's the "BALM"!
