Gels/Soaps -LUSH - Ol Blue Skies is Back

this is very, very, very strong. i can't say that enough. but it is nice if you enjoy a richly scented patchouli bath/shower gel. patchouli is not my favorite but it is nice in this. i think that this would work well for a man too b/c of the stong earthiness about it. it lathers up quite well and i like the little glitter bits in it. normally i detest glitter but since it doesn't linger after i rinse off i don't mind it in here, it's actually rather nice. i don't like this as much as some of the other holiday products like bob soap or snow fairy but i would buy this again next year if they made it again.

Treatments (Eye) -Mavala - Double-Lash

thank you to all the reviewers here! i bought this 3 weeks ago b/c of all the fantastic reviews and i am thrilled that i have experienced the same results. i have used this every night without fail, and I noticed results in a week. my lashes were much thicker, longer, and there seemed to be much more of them. also i don't seem to be losing as many as i used to. i get so excited to put my mascara on now every morning b/c my lashes end up looking so good. this has to be my favorite purchase in so long, and it's nice to buy something that actually lives up to the hype.

Lip Gloss -Kevyn Aucoin - The Elegant Lip Gloss in Anastasia
triangleX 12/5/2006 1:25:00 AM
i bought this from beauty.com without having ever tried this on, so lucky for me my gamble was worth it! i had read about it in Lucky magazine and it sounded so beautiful i just had to try it. i am so fair skinned that the majority of cool toned colors can make me look ghastly. but there's something so sophisticated about cool toned pinks! this gloss is so beautiful and it really looks stunning on my fair skin. i don't look washed out and it isn't too pale of a pink. the color is subtle enough to be a somewhat-nude but deep enough to be interesting. this is not as sheer of a gloss as i am used to....it seems more like a light, creamy lipstick. but it's not sticky or tacky or thick and it feels incredible on. i am so glad i bought this. i feel so sexy in this color. i like the little red tin it comes in too but the lip brush is kind of flimsy. other than that small complaint i love it!

Lipstick -Laura Mercier - Primrose

i was on the lookout for a new pale lipstick and i found this by accident while browsing the cosmetics counter at nordstrom's. i have very pale skin and light hair so the wrong pale shade can completely wash me out. i'm always careful to find one that has a good amount of color so that i don't resemble Death. this is a beautiful pale pink with peachy tones in it. it's on the warm side, and it does look slightly darker in the tube than it does on my lips. this would be a great color for anyone looking for a non-brown, non-flesh toned alternative to a nude lip. this feels nice on too. my only small complaint would be that it does tend to cake up a bit on the inner edges of my lips after about a half-hour or so. i notice this with other light colored lipsticks so it doesn't bother me too much. in the end, i really like this color and recommend it to other fair skinned girls who want a nude look but don't want to be washed out by bland nude colored lipsticks.

Gels/Soaps -LUSH - avowash

i love avobath and bought this soap b/c i was hoping it would smell similar. it doesn't have the tangy, lemon fresh tones that avobath does, but it has a great fragrance all the same. this is much deeper, almost musky (in a non-scary way), and very sensual. feels very moisturizing and has a lovely soft texture. i love the avocado in it, which is so healthy for my skin. i would absolutely repurchase!

Moisturizers -LUSH - Celestial

i formerly used enzymion for about 5-6 years, and have switched to this when my skin was misbehaving on a consistent basis for a few months. thankfully this (as well as babyface and angels on bareskin) has relaxed my skin and returned it to normal. it feels so plush and soft going on to my skin, and really absords well. i was worried that it might be too heavy, but it's not at all. it's perfect for my sensitive skin. no spots of any kind either. i only use the smallest dab, not even a dime sized amount. usually a tiny pea sized bit is enough for my entire face and neck. i feel radiant when i wear this, and my skin looks healthy too. i think that it is too good to be true in smell department though. i want to eat it rather than wear it! it honestly smells like a vanilla cookie. nothing that smells this decadent should work so well on facial skin but for me it really does.

Cleansers -LUSH - Angels on Bare Skin
triangleX 10/2/2006 9:41:00 PM
i have used lush's facial care for 5-6 years with excellent results. a combo of ocean salt, enzymion, and coalface has been perfect for my oily skin. but recently my skin has decided to become much more sensitive and is not responding well to my usual product routine. so i have switched to lush's more gentle products. i use babyface prior to AOBS and the results have been wonderful. my skin is much improved and is no longer misbehaving like it was. i think perhaps my skin has just changed, which is not uncommon i guess. i can't believe that i have never used this before b/c it is an amazing cleanser. so gentle that i wouldn't even call it an exfolient or a scrub, though it does gently polish my skin. i love the texture, which is so fine and almost mealy. to use i just put a pea sized amount into my palm and add a tiny bit of water until it's looser, then work into my skin like any other cleanser. i use it both in the morning and at night. i follow up with celestial moisturizer and my skin glows. AOBS smells so fresh and natural too. like some of the other reviewers have said, i really look forward to washing my face everyday.

Deodorants -LUSH - Coconut Deodorant Powder
triangleX 9/30/2006 3:53:00 PM
straight away...i hate lush deodorants. each one i have tried has ended up burning my underarms. i must be sensitive to one of the ingredients in them. i bought this a few days ago with some trepidation, fearing that not only am i asking for it again, but i would probably end up returning it in a day or two anyway. but i bought it anyway b/c i adore coconut and it smelled so beautiful. it's neatly packaged in one of lush's plastic powder containers and it resembles silky underwear or any of their other body powders. i was so excited to try it, and i applied it with my hands, not wanting to bother with a powder brush. after wearing it for a few days, i haven't experienced any sensitivity at all. and it works! it's kept me dry and clean all day. i did reapply once yesterday just for extra freshness, but i haven't had a b.o. problem at all even after i worked out. the smell is so sexy too, like a tropical coconut beach. the best idea for a deodorant fragrance ever b/c even if i sweat a little bit, it still smells like coconut.

Gels/Soaps -LUSH - Sexy Peel Soap
triangleX 9/30/2006 3:42:00 PM
this soap reminds me a bit of sunny citrus soap, but it's much more potent. very strong orange peel or lemon peel scent. it's sharp and bright and very uplifting in the morning. it's not super moisturizing like the buttercreams, or alkmaar, but it does leave me feeling so clean and invigorated. no harsh scrub ingredients in it, so it's the perfect soap for people that like a scrub-free shower soap. i haven't used it as a facial soap, but one of my friends bought it for that purpose and it radically cleared up her spots. so maybe it would be good for other people who have similar skin. i do enjoy this soap, and i would repurchase.

Cleansers -LUSH - Baby Face ] [DISCONTINUED]
triangleX 9/30/2006 3:35:00 PM
i am a long time user of lush products for my facial skin, and have been using a combo of coalface, enzymion, and ocean salt as my rountine for about 5-6 years now with excellent results. but over the past month, my normally oily skin has freaked out and i am switching things around a bit. i started using this a month ago as a more gentle way to remove make-up prior to cleansing. it works wonders for me, and leaves my skin feeling so smooth and supple. i just wet my face with warm water, rub babyface around my hands for a few minutes, then massage my face for about a minute or two. then i wipe my face gently with cotton pads or a washcloth then rinse and i have perfectly cleansed skin. my moisturizer, if i decide to use it, just glides on and sinks in. sometimes i don't feel the need to moistuize after this but when i do i use celestial. i love this little bar.

Hair -Stila - crème bouquet hair refresher
triangleX 9/27/2006 8:02:00 PM
this is so much better than the oscar blandi dry shampoo and the B & B version. the cleverly designed little bottle dispenses the powder in these brilliant little clouds that just disappear into the hair. other basic powders (like baby powder) just sprinkle big messy clumps of powder into the roots and it only ends up looking dull and obvious. this is so much better in both quality and design. after a few attempts, i figured out how to get the perfect little wispy cloud of powder. you have to hold the bottle horizantally (about 1 to 2 inches above the scalp) with the little hole dispenser facing down and gently squeeze the bottle a few times. if you point the bottle straight down it won't come out properly, it will come out in those nasty aforementioned clumps. anyways, this really helped me cut down on washings so that now i can go every other day w/o shampooing. i have very long hair so that is ideal for me. and nicely enough, this powder doesn't dull my hair. it adds great body and volume. i like my hair better now the day after my shampoos, b/c with the help of this powder i get that messy, kittenish look that is very sexy. also...i love the smell! a must have for me!

Treatments -Carol's Daughter - Herbal Rinse/Mist in Black Vanilla
triangleX 9/22/2006 12:48:00 AM
i am so crazy about this leave-in conditioner! it's so lightweight and non-greasy and it helps detangle my hair without any excess pulling when i comb it. this is so watery that it really should be packaged in a spray form instead of a regular bottle cap top. it's not creamy or even slightly thick at all that it would require being in this type of dispenser. the first time i tried to use it by pouring it into my hand it spilled over the sides of my hands and wasted a lot of product. i had to transfer it into a different spray-in conditioner bottle that i thankfully hadn't recylcled yet. once i did that, it worked beautifully and i can spray it all over my hair with no spilling. other than that little difficulty, it's such a nice product. especially the fragrance. i would pay much more than the $10 price tag to keep my hair smelling like fresh dark vanilla.

Lotions/ Creams -Carol's Daughter - Ecstasy Shea Souffle
triangleX 9/19/2006 6:06:00 PM
this is my first purchase from this company and i bought it online w/o even testing it first. it sounded like a beautifully exotic scented cream in the description and it's even better in person. the plastic tub is very generous and will last me a long time, probably long after the 6 month suggested usage date. it feels very luxurious and silky, and is perfect for fall/winter cold weather. it is heavier than i expected but doesn't feel overly greasy. i make sure to use a small amount since it rubs in well and spreads easily and i don't want to overdo it. unlike some of the other reviewers, i din't notice that it took a long time to absorb. compared to similar thick body creams (like L'Occitane Shea Butter Body Lotion or LUSH Dream Cream) i thought it absorbed rather quickly. i love the results it has left on my skin. like someone else observed, it does add a sheen to my skin. it smells so great too...like a mellow pineapple cocktail with a background of nutty macadamia or almond. not overpowering or heady-sweet either. just perfect! i really like the natural ingredients too. this is certainly a new favorite of mine and i am excited to try their other products!

Shampoo -Alba Botanica - Plumeria Replenishing Hair Wash
triangleX 8/11/2006 10:00:00 PM
this is probably the best sulfate-free shampoo i have ever used. better than alot of those overpriced, over-hyped sulfate free shampoos out there (like one of my last shampoo purchases--jonathan product). i love the light sudsy lather and the super gentle cleansing. this feels like it would be gentle enough for a baby, or even the most sensitive scalp. the smell is incredible too...it's actually addicting. this is the most natural flower scent, just like freshly picked plumerias. it feels heavenly to wash my hair with this everyday. i use this with the alba botanica Hawaiian Gardenia conditioner and i have great, natuiral, healthy results. i can't believe how inexpensive this is, especially since it feels comparable to super expensive shampoo brands like Fresh, Bliss, and Terax ( each of which i have purchased and been disillusioned with in the past). also i feel great knowing it's cruelty-free. i really LOVE this, and i highly recommend it!
