Lip Liners -NARS - Velvet Matte Lip Pencil - Damned
tokiomama 2/17/2012 11:43:00 PM
This is gorgeous. It doesnt go on super dark so you can deepen it to your liking. Add as much as you want because it wont get cakey. After the first swipe this is like a MLBB color. its like a berry pink. It looks like a deep magenta on me after three coats (like a purple with pink undertones-or like a muted fuchsia). i have fair medium skin with yellow undertones. The bottom review is right. It applies so smoothly and kinda looks like it's part of you (like alipstain) doesnt look like cake the way lipsticks tend to do. Very velvety feeling. It feels so light too. i dont really feel like im wearing anything on my lips. And kind of drying but nowhere near as bad as my MAC Ruby Woo. These have NO SHINE, and i find no need to blot. These do settle into the lines of your lips and flakes (i dunno what people are talking about when they say they dont) so just use a lip scrub beforehand if its really bad. I find if you dont eat anything greasy all day (and eat carefully) they do last you a few 4-8 hours. This color in particular doesnt make you look goth even though its in the purple family. And i think it would look gorgeous on very fair women as well as women of color. I've never found a color like this before (specially one in the purple colors) that i liked. would def repurchase.

Blush -NARS - Gina
tokiomama 2/17/2012 11:23:00 PM
Really pretty color. i think its universally flattering to all skin tones and it looks awesome with NARS Dolce Vita Velvet matte or Lipstick. The only bad part is I have many blushes that look EXACTLY like this. One is my Smashbox Regal. And I think that one has a better packaging since its padded my blush wont break if i drop it. overall though its a beautiful peachy-orange color that adds a nice warm glow to pasty yellow undertoned face like mine (fair medium skin).

Lipstick -NARS - Schiap
tokiomama 2/17/2012 11:12:00 PM
This is a really pretty color. It's extremely opaque and not very drying. this is a BRIGHT pink. So if you're into pinks get it. Though I think MAC has many similar lipsticks with similar results as this one but cheaper. For that reason I wouldnt buy again. It's dupable. Plus it doesnt look on me the way it looks on Kim Kardashian in that picture above. It looks like how it looks in the tupe. The one kim is wearing looks more like NARS Funny Face in my opinion.

Lipstick -Tarte - Lipsurgence Natural Matte Lip Stain in Swank
tokiomama 2/13/2012 7:01:00 PM
This one is the prettiest Lipsurgence. It's a cherry-red color (sheer thats buildable) and it had no glitter like the luster ones. the packaging is great because you dont sharpen it. you twist it up like a lipstick. it smells like toothpaste to me, Minty. taste like lip balm. This reminds me a lot of the Lip Butters. Or a tinted lip balm. I dont really see it as a stain because it doesnt do any staining. it wears like lip balm. it says its matte but its shiny like balm. I hate the top for these things. I barely used the one i had (maybe 3 times) and just kept it in my make up back and the top got a huge crack. How cheap is that? if i paid $20+ for this it better be durable packaging! its pretty but NOT worth the money AT ALL.

Lipstick -NARS - Lipstick in Dolce Vita
tokiomama 2/13/2012 3:56:00 PM
Cons: -Super sheer so you really have to pack it on. -Little product for such expensive product. -It literally comes off in like 3-5 pop kisses. (i test lipsticks on my bf but usually a lipstick will hit a point were it fades but the color is still there. not with this one. it's gone in 30 mins or less) -Not exact color as the Dolce Vita Velvet Matte Lip Pencil. This one is a sheerer version obviously. Not opaque at all. -I'm not a huge fan of the smell. but the smell goes away quickly. Pros: -No taste. -MLBB on me and im a medium fair with yellow undertones. my lips are pigmented already and this gives them a warm rosy appearance. -This lipstick warms up your face. thats why i love the dolce vita line. because im so pasty it helps a lot. -It's a lazy day lipstick. -Moisturizing -has shine but doesnt feel sticky or heavy like gloss. very light. Dupes: Covergirl Trushine lipstick in Blushberry Benefit Silky Finish lipstick in Good To Go (almost identical to Dolce Vita) Kat Von D lipstick in Lolita MAC amplified creme in Cosmo is close

Masks -LUSH - Cosmetic Warrior Mask
tokiomama 2/11/2012 5:52:00 PM
The first mask I bought was the Cupcake Mask and it broke me out (I think it was the coco butter). But this one was very soothing (it was a teensy bit drying but just put on some moisturizer after) I have combo acne prone skin and this mask calmed the redness and it made my skin really soft and clean feeling. (The cupcake just made it feel clean then i woke up with zits) .But this is perfect for sensitive skin. The tea tree oil in it really helps i think. It smells kinda bad but it isnt overwhelming in my opnion. It smells like a hint of garlic (the garlic smell isnt too strong) and the smell doesnt stay on your skin or anything. The jar last me the two recommended weeks if i use it every other day. Make sure you save your jar! 5 of em gets you a free one!

Lips -NARS - Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Dragon Girl
tokiomama 2/10/2012 9:41:00 PM
I love this but won't repurchase. It looks exactly like my MAC Ruby Woo. EXACTLY. And ruby woo is only 14.50 and I wont use it up if I sharpen it 4 to 6 times. It's a great color but not worth the price when I can get more product for cheaper in better packaging. If you're a red lipstick collector like me, it's nice to splurge on. I'd say for Cruella, MAC's Russian Red is a dead match. I do love these pencils because theyre very handy when youre on the go. no need for a lip liner and it goes on flawlessly. I found dragon girl to be a BRIGHT neutral red. Cruella is more on the deeper blood red side. Dragon Girl was created for Gwen Stefani so that gives you an idea of what type of red this is. Also to sharpen these pencils, Sephora has a Sephora brand sharpener that works really well for $5. Nars has a sharpener but they have two kinds under the same name so if you order it online you might get the one that fits these pencils and you might not. Id say go to the store yourself.

Lipstick -MAC - Party Parrot
tokiomama 2/10/2012 9:24:00 PM
It's matte. Comes in the black bullet packaging. It's not too drying but if it is a little balm under helps that. I usually stay away from hot pinks and corals. They just don't compliment me. I usually wear MAC ruby woo. I'd say I'm a medium fair neutral with more of a yellow undertone to my skin. Impassioned was horrendous on me. It looked like a highlighter on my skin. ugh. But party parrot is in the same family and it's a pink that has a hint of coral but also looks kind of red in a way (which makes the "parrot" in the name make perfect sense) and I think it's that hint of red that saved it from being returned and made it work. I have to disagree with the bottom reviewer. If you liked impassioned you MIGHT like party parrot. But party parrot isnt as pink. It's BRIGHT. Highlighter bright but oddly enough it looks good. It also reminds me of like the 50's for some reason. It might be the matte finish or the red tint but it's gorgeous. I'd buy this again for sure if it comes out again. It's a very unique color. I think its one of those colors that compliments a wide range of skin tones. you just have to own it

Moisturizers -Neutrogena - Oil-Free Moisture Sensitive Skin
tokiomama 2/8/2012 10:54:00 PM
it's a pump. it's says its fro sensitive skin. hypoallergenic and alcohol free. So it wont clog pores or dry you out. I havent used it enough to give a great review but so far my combo acne prone skin is fine. it doesnt feel greasy. it feels watery. but though its watery my skin doesnt sucks it up right away. i can feel it moisturize. I suggest if you wear this and foundation. for your foundation to be oil free too or it will melt off.

Tinted Moisturizer -Laura Mercier - Tinted Moisturizer SPF 20
tokiomama 2/6/2012 12:53:00 PM
Okay this retails for 42$ for 1.7 oz but you get one ounce for 20 from the travel size so I'm thinking that's a way better deal. I have this in Bisque. And it blends out so nice and sheer on my medium fair skin ( I'm a neutral with yellow undertones) . It feels like you're putting on moisturizer that's how creamy it is. But it isn't watery in any way. If you're looking for coverage for something other then covering red ness and evening out skin tone this is not your product because this is all it will do. I have skin that dry in winter and oily and summer and I'm acne prone. And this did not break me out at all. It made my skin feel super soft! I put moisturizer under of course and it blended out like a dream and it did not make me look greasy at all. One of the full size tubes should last you like 4-5 months. Wet n wild has a dupe it's called sheer tinted moisturizer. It's 3 bucks. It works exactly as this one does but I did find that one broke me out and made my skin itch. If your skin isn't sensitive I say give that one a try first. For now I'll stick to this one

Blush -MAC - Amazon Princess
tokiomama 2/4/2012 5:59:00 PM
The color pay off in this is awesome! you can swipe your finger on it lightly once and it's really opaque! It would look nice on all skin tones I think but on porcelain pink under toned people you have to use it extremely lightly because it is hot pink! I have yellow undertones and am a medium fair. and it looks really nice. I love it. I love the packaging. some peple think it looks cheap because it looks like a 5 year olds "toy make up" since its a really light plastic. but i think its cute. and the mirror is awesome. dont expect to fit mac regular blushes in it though. this is for like a studio fix pan. Also ive been hearing a lot of people say these blushes break easily and i think its true. I got this in a swap and it was broken. the girl was sweet enough to add the product back in there for me and i re-pressed it with alcohol and now it's fine (the color didnt change at all with the repressing). overall i think its a beautiful blush.

Eyeliner -MAC - Fluidline Eye-Liner Gel in Blacktrack
tokiomama 2/2/2012 9:37:00 AM
i wouldnt buy this again. even when it's supposed to be dry if you accidentaly touch your eye it will smudge. it smudges by itself after like an hour or two. i have normal not very oily lids and it still does this. it IS very creamy, easy to apply, and opaque and you only need a bit so a jar will last you a long time but my Ruby Kisses HD gel liner is just as good and maybe even better and that one is only $4. so no it really is not worth the 15$.

Makeup Brushes -Ecotools - Bamboo Bronzer Brush
tokiomama 2/2/2012 9:29:00 AM
i love this brush. it's awesome for blush. doesnt waste product because it grabs it in one swipe and im done. The eco tools blush brush sucks for blush though. doesnt grab it at all. doesnt shed!!!ive had it a year with multiple washes and its stll awesome. its super soft! and its like $6 i think. ive tried high end brushes and this totally matches or surpasses them

Lipstick -NARS - Funny Face
tokiomama 1/30/2012 7:37:00 PM
I love Nars packaging it's small cute and sexy. Anywho on my medium fair neutral leaning on cool skin with yellow undertones this lipstick looks almost as good as my HG Ruby Woo. I'd describe this as the perfect fuchsia with blue undertones. Look like a deep magenta on me. It's lovely. I think it would suit dark skin tones even better even though it's a cool tone. But it also goes well with light skin tones. It's a bit drying cuz it's semi matte. But a little lip balm under it will solve that problem. Pretty long lasting. As long as you don't eat anything greasy ur good. Now I have to find a lipliner that goes with it. I'd def repurchase btw mine is the second pic up there. looks pretty true to color. Also this lipstick look exactly and in all aspects is exactly like MAC's Show Orchid

Cleansers -Bobbi Brown - Lathering Tube Soap
tokiomama 1/30/2012 1:57:00 PM
it took off my foundation and all that gunk off without drying my skin (which is good because i have desert-like skin) and i felt clean but not scrubbed raw. I got it as an extra in a swap in a tiny little tube and really you dont need much but a good sized drop for your face. it lathers quite nicely. that little tube lasted me 2-3 weeks with everyday use. Id buy it again but i feel i can find a cheaper cleanser that works just as well. i also wasnt to fond of the smell. which is really perfumy. (im a fruit scent kinda girl)
