Gels/Soaps -Philosophy - Lime 3 in 1 (Let Go, Let Love)
rated 5 of 5

I definitely agree with stilagrrl's review below - this does not have a true lime scent, but is slightly sweetened and reminds me of a lime popsicle. Yum! Lathers well and does not dry out my skin. This is a fun treat to use during the warmer months and I would most likely repurchase it.

Bronzers -Too Faced - Snow Bunny
rated 5 of 5
tnlfraz0820 6/4/2008 2:12:00 PM

When it was time for me to get a new bronzer, I wanted something that had lots of shimmer, wasn't too dark or fake-looking for my N4/NW20 skin and preferably, would have strips of color that I could also use separately as eyeshadows/highlighters. I found everything I was looking for in this product! Snow bunny is very shimmery, but also looks natural and gives my face a healthy glow that was appropriate even for winter-time (when I bought this) and especially now during the summer months. What I really love about this product is it's versatility -depending on what strips I run my brush through, the color I get can be a deeper bronze, or a lighter highlighting shade. Overall, I love this bronzer and it has become a staple in my daily makeup routine. I would definitely repurchase this!!!

Lotions/ Creams -Nivea - Sun Kissed firming moisturizer light to medium skin (body)
rated 4 of 5
tnlfraz0820 6/4/2008 2:03:00 PM

I've been using this product for about a week now and really like it so far. I was a bit hesitant to try this product after reading some of the reviews it has gotten here on MUA, however the fresh and yummy pineapple scent drew me in. On my dreadfully pale skin, this moisturizer gives gradual and natural "sun-kissed" color. Even when I goof up (which happens frequently) you cannot really tell with this moisturizer. What I love the most though, is that even hours after I apply this, my skin does not get that stinky self-tanner smell that I have gotten with other self-tanning lotions, such as Jergen's and Dove. The only pitfall I have found in this lotion so far is the texture/consistency (minus the one lippie)- it is slightly syrupy and tends to leave my skin a bit sticky. However, I am willing to deal with that for a yummy smelling lotion that I feel comfortable applying in the morning and wearing all day, not to mention the pretty, natural color it gives. I am also curious now to try the matching moisturizer for face and see what results that gives. Overall, I would highly recommend this lotion to anyone wanting a natural, healthy glow without the DHA stink of regular self tanners and gradual glow lotions. Will repurchase!

Lotions/ Creams -Jergens - Jergens Natural Glow Daily Moisturizer
rated 4 of 5
tnlfraz0820 6/4/2008 1:55:00 PM

I'm on my second bottle of this now and am still deciding on whether or not I really like this product. I have the natural glow lotion in the light shade and I do really like how easily and gradually the color builds. If I do goof up (which I often do) it is not usually noticeable with this lotion. I also like how this lotion is a bit thicker than other similar products I've tried and it does smell good, kind of vanilla-ish, at first. However, once this product starts working, it smells absolutely awful on me, so bad that I will only apply it at night before I go to bed. So even though the color looks natural and pretty on my dreadfully pale skin, I am limited to only using this at night, which is not always convenient for me. I have recently tried expanding my self-tanning horizons and have found a few other options (such as Nivea's Sun-Kissed Firming Moisturizer) that smells good enough to eat and doesn't morph into that yucky smell after an hour or so. Overall, I would say that the Jergens lotion is a solid, safe bet for natural and gradual color, just be prepared for the icky smell. I might repurchase this, but plan on exploring other options first.

Bronzers -Stila - Stila Sun SPF 15 Bronzing Powder - Shade 01
rated 5 of 5
tnlfraz0820 6/4/2008 1:44:00 PM

At first I was a bit worried that this might look a bit too orange on my N4/NW20 skin, but I was pleasantly surprised when this bronzer blended in quickly and easily, leaving a natural looking, matte finish. Like other Stila products I've tried, this bronzer is super-smooth and can be layered for a deeper bronze look. The spf 15 is also a nice bonus. Overall, I really like this bronzer so far and have a feeling that it will become a staple in my summer makeup bag. Another winner from Stila!

Eye Shadow -Stila - Stila Kitten Palette Summer 08
rated 5 of 5
tnlfraz0820 6/4/2008 1:03:00 PM

This is my second product from Stila and it has cemented my love for all things Stila! I am a big fan of shimmery, light shadows and this perfect little palette has become my new best friend for summer. For reference, I am N4/NW20 with hazel eyes and the two shades I use the most from this palette are Wheat and Kitten. However, I also love to spice things up with using Mystic (teal color) in the crease and at the corners of my eyes, and the gorgeous yellow-gold shade (can't think of the name off the top of my head) looks gorgeous layered over my Clarins soft-touch eye colour in gold. The only shade I am not 110% in love with from this palette is the copper colored shade, it's just a bit too warm for me. As with the other Stila shadows I've tried, these apply smoothly, just like butter and have amazing staying power when layered with UDPP. Since this palette is LE, I'm already planning to save and splurge on a backup because I love it that much. Even my mom and sister, who both normally stick to drugstore makeup love this palette and have bought their own!

Skincare - Body -Beauticontrol - Spa Manicure (formerly Show of Hands Instant Manicure)
rated 5 of 5
tnlfraz0820 4/28/2008 6:11:00 PM

I love this product! I am fairly new to the beauticontrol line and was introduced to this amazing little product at a recent spa party. It appeared to be a pretty basic salt scrub, in a cute little 10-oz jar. However, I was pretty impressed with how soft and silky this made my hands, especially since 2-3 days later, my hands were still super-soft. I really enjoy this product and will gladly continue to repurchase it!!!

Treatments -Avalon Organics Botanicals - Vitamin C Vitality Facial Serum
rated 4 of 5
tnlfraz0820 4/25/2008 10:40:00 PM

Wow! I bought this based on the reviews here on MUA and am so glad I did! This light, refreshing, orange-scented serum smoothes easily and absorbs quickly into my normal/combo sensitive skin. Since I have began using this product (about 3-4 weeks now, twice a day), my skin is brighter, smoother and has more of that "glow" that I covet so much. I also really like the packaging- very functional with a twist-closed cap, and opaque bottle. This has quickly become a staple in my morning and evening skincare routine and I will continue to repurchase!

Moisturizers -Avon - Solutions Hydra-Radiance Protecting Day Lotion SPF 30
rated 2 of 5
tnlfraz0820 4/25/2008 10:36:00 PM

This product appealed to me because it had SPF 30, was relatively inexpensive and was easy to obtain through Avon. However, this lotion was not good at all for my normal/combo, slightly sensitive skin. This lotion has a light, fresh fragrance, and applies easily, however it did not sink into my skin whatsoever and left me incredibly shiny and oily. By the end of the day, my face was easily twice as oily as it normally is. I'm guessing this product was also the culprit of an enormous breakout on my chin, since it was the only new addition/change to my normal routine. The packaging, although cute, was slightly irritating, since the lid was a twist-off versus a flip-top. Overall, I decided to toss this one after just a few weeks and will not be repurchasing.

Bath Treatments -Bath and Body Works - For Heaven's Sake
rated 4 of 5
tnlfraz0820 4/13/2008 8:00:00 PM

Like many others, I had fallen in love with Fresh's Sake bath, but wasn't up to paying the extremely hefty price for a bottle of my own. Therefore, I was pleasantly pleased and intrigued to find this similar product at BBW as part of the new TBS far east escape line. For Heaven's Sake is described as a super-softening, oil-to-cream bath and shower wash with sake. My bottle cost $15.00 for 6.4 oz, a much more affordable option than my beloved Fresh, so I was willing to give it a try. I tried this in my tub as a bath oil and cranked the water as hot as it would go, just as I did with the Fresh Sake bath. For Heaven's Sake has a very similar, spicy-peachy scent to the Fresh Sake bath and foamed up pretty nicely, considering that I only used a very small amount (not even 1/10th of the bottle!) Although I can say that my skin did not feel quite as softened after my bath as it did with the Fresh Sake bath (hence the 4-lippie rating), that was about the only difference I could tell between these two products. The sweet-smelling foam was long-lasting, I felt as soothed and relaxed as I did after my Fresh Sake bath, but even more so because I knew I didn't spend $80 on this product! I will definitely repurchase this product after I run out, and I am already worrying that BBW will discontinue this product!

Lotions/ Creams -Bath and Body Works - True Blue Spa - Mystic Silk 24-Hour Ultimate Moisture
rated 4 of 5
tnlfraz0820 4/13/2008 11:31:00 AM

Like the previous reviewer, I too thought this product was just a bit too "green" for my taste. I tested this out in BBW the other weekend and was immediately drawn in by the light and creamy texture that somehow managed to be very moisturizing, but the green tea scent (a smell I usually enjoy) was very, very intense. Still, I loved how well this product moisturized, so I did buy it and even though I still love the texture and performance of the lotion itself, the scent is so strong and long-lasting that I usually don't use this lotion unless it's nighttime or if I'm not going anywhere that day. Why is it that the lotions with the scents I don't enjoy are always the ones that last the longest??? Overall, if you enjoy very crisp and green scents, this might be a winner for you, but I'm looking for a product that is a tad more subtle. Would not repurchase.

Fragrances -Bath and Body Works - Hello Sugar! Crystalline Body Splash
rated 4 of 5
tnlfraz0820 4/12/2008 8:57:00 PM

As an avid lover of any and all things lemon-scented, I immediately fell in love with this after spraying it at BBW last weekend. Hello Sugar is new at BBW and the available products are a shimmery body lotion, moisturizing body meringue, 3-in-1 body wash, kissable lip duo and crystalline body splash. Now to get on to the body splash itself- the initial spray is very sweet, creamy cake with a refreshing lemon zest. It smells incredible, but sadly, does not last very long, which is why I only gave it 4 lippies. However, for the price ($12.50) this is a very decent product that I enjoy. I would be interested to see if the lasting power would be extended if I used this in conjunction with the body wash and lotion or meringue. Overall, this is a wonderful treat and I enjoy using it! Would repurchase!

Eye Shadow -Stila - Starlight Eye Shadow
rated 5 of 5
tnlfraz0820 4/6/2008 9:32:00 PM

This shadow is my first from Stila and I must say that I am very impressed. Starlight is a soft, shimmery champagne color that I have been using mainly as a wash, but also as a highlighter. What amazes me with this shadow is the texture. This shadow is so smooth, it applies just like butter and is the perfect complement to my UDPP. My prior fav before Stila were MAC shadows (Shroom in particular), but I have to admit that this one is leaving MAC in the dust. Stila is more pricey, especially since I bought the refillable compact for this, but it is a decent amount of product for the price I paid, so I believe it will last quite awhile. I am very excited about expanding my collection of Stila shadows and am quite sure I will repurchase this one when I finally run out!

Bath Treatments -Fresh - Sake Bath
rated 5 of 5
tnlfraz0820 4/6/2008 9:27:00 PM

All I can say is.......amazing. Absolutely amazing. I got a sample packet of the sake bath from fresh when I ordered from them awhile back and finally put it to good use. I wasn't really expecting much, but the spicy, sweet, peachy bath foamed quite nicely, was so soothing, softened my skin, I could go on and on, but other reviewers have summed it up so nicely. However, would I be willing to spend $80 on this heaven-sent product? Normally, I would say not in a million years, but the relaxed, calm, peaceful feeling I had after my sake bath just may be worth the dough. Until I decide to take the plunge though, I am planning to try out TBS for heaven's sake from BBW to see if I can get similar results for less.

Bath Treatments -Alba Botanica - Passion Fruit Bath Salt
rated 5 of 5
tnlfraz0820 4/6/2008 9:22:00 PM

Mmmm! These bath salts are a lovely addition to my (almost) nightly baths. They do smell incredibly, incredibly sweet and as the previous reviewer mentioned, the smell is a bit overpowering at first. However, the scent mellows out after a few minutes and leaves you with delicately scented water. Although I didn't expect these salts to leave my skin soft, they did feel somewhat moisturizing, so that was a pleasant surprise. I think the price for this product (about $6-7 online) was pretty reasonable considering you get a huge, 20-oz tub that will last me quite awhile. Best of all, alba does not test on animals! I will definitely repurchase this product.
