Primer/ Corrector -DHC - Velvet Skin Coat
rated 4 of 5

The first time I applied this I was shocked because I didn't recognize my own skin. It blurs fine lines and imperfections, diminishes pores, tones down redness and leaves a soft, matte surface. I apply just a little over my entire face, even on my eyelids. Now I'm wearing less foundation. This is advertised as having the ability to keep oil restrained, however, I haven't found that to be the case. I think it may actually generate more oil.

Treatments -Elizabeth Arden - Ceramide Defining Skin Brightener

According to the instructions in the box, this product is supposed to redefine the appearance of facial contours, retexturize the skin, even out skintone, reduce the appearance of wrinkles, blur imperfections, revive radiance and restore smoothness and clarity for brighter, healthier looking skin. However, after using it for several months, the only benefit I've received is barely there moisturization. This serum does have a silky, elegant texture and a lovely soft fragrance but I won't be repurchasing.

Eye Shadow -Laura Mercier - Eye Colour in Topaz
rated 5 of 5

Makes an gorgeous eye! The color is more dimensional than just a taupe. It also has a trace of silvery lavender. And the shimmer is just enough. Love it w/ green eyes, but I think it would look equally nice w/ any eye color. It's so easy to apply and blend, just like all LM eyeshadows. This one is worth the price. My HG eye shadow.

Eye Shadow -Milani - Antique Gold #17

What a sultry little drugstore find! I apply it with a smudge brush next to the lashline and feather up a bit. If you have green eyes w/ gold flecks, your eyes will sparkle w/ this one. Nice.

Love, love, love this brush! I have a large lid area and use this brush to apply an all over lid color. The quality is superb and it's a pleasure to use. (Note: This review is for the Eye Shader, not the Angled Eye Shader)

I just finished my first and last bottle of this product. It did not calm or disguise any redness for me.

Lip Liners -Bobbi Brown - Creamy Lip Liner - Rose
rated 5 of 5
tloul 5/5/2005 9:54:00 AM

This is the liner I reach for most frequently. It's a neutral rose w/ a touch of brown, nearly a match for my lips. Goes on smoothly and evenly. It's firm enough to line the lips without bleeding, but creamy enough to easily fill in the entire lip. Expensive but worth the money.

Treatments (Eye) -Bobbi Brown - Extra Eye Balm
rated 4 of 5

Plumps up lines and hydrates dry skin around the eyes like nobody's business. Hasn't helped w/ dark circles or puffiness, though. It's intended for nighttime use. It would be too greasy to use during the day.

I have a few fine lines on my forehead and between my brow, and sadly, after five months of faithful use, this expensive product did not change one single line.

Concealers -Bobbi Brown - Concealer Kit
rated 3 of 5
tloul 4/3/2005 8:52:00 PM

I must confess that my initial review for this product was rather scathing due to the creasing, caking, fading and aging effect that I experienced when I first purchased this kit. Now, after considerable time has passed, I’ve pulled the concealer out from the depths of my bathroom drawer to try it again and have been very pleased with the results. The difference in performance apparently is due to the undereye moisturizer that I’m now using and also that I’m skipping the BB powder. I either use MD Forte Replenishing Crème or Sea Ora Eye Gel as my moisturizer and the concealer stays put and covers well with minimal creasing and caking. I apply the concealer w/ a brush over BB corrector, then gently pat it in w/ my ring finger. I smooth out the outside edges w/ a makeup sponge. Sometimes I will set it with LM Secret Brightening Powder which looks a zillion times better than the BB powder. Probably if I had begun w/ the BB undereye cream I wouldn’t have had problems in the first place or maybe the product just needed to “age”. Anyway, my opinion has done a 180 and I’ll repurchase.

Concealers -Laura Mercier - Secret Camouflage
rated 5 of 5
tloul 3/31/2005 10:50:00 AM

This concealer is indispensable to me for covering redness, blemishes and any dark areas. It also makes a good eyeshadow base. It’s thick, dry consistency gives it staying power and it works very well on oily skin. The lighter shade in SC4 is a fairly good match for LM Warm Ivory Oil Free Foundation w/out having to blend. I also often use SC as my undereye concealer. After moisturizing the undereye, I apply SC over BB Corrector, which has a creamy consistency. This combo has minimal creasing.

Eye Shadow -Bobbi Brown - Beige Shimmer Wash
rated 5 of 5
tloul 3/17/2005 4:18:00 PM

So glad I found this! It's a light (but not too light), neutral beige with an elegant, subtle shimmer that instantly brightens the eye for a classy, polished look. I typically wear Beige from lid to crease over a Bone or White base(with Expresso liner), but it's also great as an all over wash or paired with a matte (Wheat). It's suitable for those who have trouble wearing other shadows that are too shimmery.

Concealers -Bobbi Brown - Corrector
rated 5 of 5

This is a super product! I use Light Bisque, which is a pinky fleshtone w/a smidgeon of pearlescence. This truly brightens the undereye, giving a dewy effect. I use this under LM Secret Camouflage, or sometimes mix it w/ it or use it on top. This combo has very minimal creasing.

Makeup Brushes -Bobbi Brown - Powder Brush
rated 3 of 5

It sheds! On a positive note, the bristles are soft, it picks up just the right amount of powder and the dome shape is great for reaching the contours of the face. But, it leaves hairs all over my face.

Blush -Bobbi Brown - apricot powder blush
rated 5 of 5
tloul 3/10/2005 3:00:00 PM

This warm, bright, matte shade enlivens the complexion and detracts from undereye circles. Makes green eyes pop, pop, pop! The color is hard to describe - kind of a combination of red/orange and pink. That may sound unappealing, but it's actually very pretty and fresh. I'm fair skinned and wear this on the apples of my cheeks. It's more pigmented than BB Pale Pink and I have to watch it or I overapply. I do an understated eye when I wear this. Looks pretty with BB Beige Shimmerwash e/s, Expresso liner, and Nude lipstick.
