I've never had acne as bad as I had when using this product. Will never go near this stuff again. It was a disaster.

Blush -NARS - Orgasm Blush

This is a lovely shade, but I have to be careful with application, because I have very fair skin and if I'm not careful I end up looking like a clown. That having been said, I'm about to use it up, and may purchase again (haven't decided yet). A shade that will complement most skin tones, I imagine, and great staying power. I have several blushes, but this is the one I always grab if I'm in a hurry and don't want to think too much about which blush shade to use. Good, quality product.

Gels/Soaps -Philosophy - Red Velvet Cake 3-in-1
rated 4 of 5
tinydancer73 11/4/2007 3:54:00 AM

A word of warning: This fragrance is VERY rich, as in "I need a glass of milk after taking a shower" rich. I agree with what others have said -- the fragrance is more akin to chocolate-covered cherries than red velvet cake. And I like chocolate cherries, in small doses. More than one or two and I start to feel a little sick. And therein lies my problem with RVC, which is why I won't be purchasing it again. I bought it scent unsmelled due to the raves. I have to say that it comes through on its promise, which is why I only took off one lippy. (It's not the product's fault that I don't like extra rich and chocolatey early in the morning.) I do, however, like it in small doses, which is why I've put this stuff in a soap dispenser and started using it to wash my hands. Just enough chocolatey-cherryness to put a smile on my face without overwhelming me. And I can sniff my hands and still smell the chocolate a half hour later. So, to sum up, if you love rich and chocolatey, you'll probably love this. If, like me, you don't want to experience sugar shock in the shower, then it may not be for you.

Gels/Soaps -Philosophy - Amazing Grace Bath, Shampoo & Shower Gel
rated 3 of 5

I usually love Philosophy's 3 in 1's, but I was underwhelmed by this one. I bought it unsmelled due to all the hype and was disappointed. To me it smells like a mix of grapefruit and musk. It works just fine and leaves my skin soft, but I wouldn't buy it again. I prefer Pure Grace and some of Philosophy's other scents to this one.

Styling Products -Frederic Fekkai - Glossing Cream with Olive Oil

I simply could not live without this product. My hair is fine + wavy, which makes for a frizzy mess! I put this product in before blow drying, and my hair is glossy and frizz-free. It's expensive, but I don't care.

Moisturizers -Aveeno - Positively Radiant Daily Moisturizer spf15
rated 4 of 5

I'm fairly pleased with this product. When I started using it, I had just given up using Philosophy's Hope in a Jar. I don't understand all the hype for that product -- it smelled awful, made my skin oily and made me break out. This moisturizer, which I've been using for over a month, has a much lighter feel and hasn't made me break out yet. I also like the "glow" it gives your skin. If you're looking for something to fight severely dry skin or wrinkles, this probably isn't strong enough. But if you're like me, and just want something to combat a little dryness without making you break out, this is a nice choice.

Powder -Bare Escentuals - Bare Minerals ALL
rated 3 of 5
tinydancer73 6/24/2007 1:58:00 AM

I don't love this product, but it's good if you're in a hurry and just want to even out your skin quick. It evens out skin tone but doesn't hide flaws well. And if you have dry skin or large pores, do yourself a favor and don't check out your makeup in the rearview mirror. When I have more time to apply makeup I apply liquid foundation, which looks much smoother and more appealing. But I do keep some B.M. around, for days when I just don't care that much. Once you master the technique, it goes on very quickly.

Cleansers -Cetaphil - Gentle Skin Cleanser
rated 4 of 5
tinydancer73 6/24/2007 1:49:00 AM

I've found this to be a good product when my skin decides to be dry or sensitive. It's soothing and moisturizing. What it doesn't seem to do well for me is take off makeup, so what I usually do is use this in the morning shower, than Philosophy's Purity Made Simple at night to take my makeup off. The combination is a winner for me. I've struggled with acne for most of my life, but since I've started using these two products together my skin has been the clearest and healthest it's ever been.

Mascara -Lancome - Definicils Mascara
rated 5 of 5
tinydancer73 6/24/2007 1:41:00 AM

I'm a bit puzzled by all the bad reviews for this product. This is a wonderful mascara for me. I have thin, very pale lashes on top of very small eyes, so I need a lot of help. I put this on and my eyes pop out. I've tried so many different mascaras, and they were always clumpy or sticky or flakey. This does none of the above. (It does start to get clumpy after I've had it a while. A sign that it's time to replace!) Only gripe is the price. $20-something a pop for mascara.

Cleansers -Philosophy - Purity Made Simple (Real Purity Cleanser)
rated 4 of 5
tinydancer73 6/24/2007 1:32:00 AM

I'm in my 30s and have been suffering from acne since I was a teenager. Since I started using Purity about three months ago, my skin is the clearest and healthiest I've seen since I was 12! It really gets all the makeup and crud off. The only drawback: my skin gets a little dry and flaky if I use it twice a day. So, I use it at night to take off my makeup, and I use Cetaphil in the morning, which is more moisturizing. Am very happy with this product, however. Some days my skin is clear enough that I can go without makeup. I didn't think I'd ever be able to do that.

Conditioner -Philosophy - Shear Splendor
rated 5 of 5
tinydancer73 6/24/2007 1:27:00 AM

I LOVE this conditioner. It's lemony scent, the way it makes my hair feel ... it's wonderful! It's a heavier conditioner, so would not recommend for people with very fine or limp hair. But for someone like me, who's hair is relatively healthy but wavy and difficult to manage, it's a dream. My hair hasn't looked truly silky since I was a child! I only wish it were a little less pricey.
