Treatments (Eye) -Murad - Resurgence Renewing Eye Cream
rated 2 of 5

I bought this eye cream after an intensive online search. From reviews on MUA and other sites, this seemed to be the best option for me, so, i gladly shelled out 72 dollars 3 months ago hoping I would see some improvement in my eye area. Results? absolutely no difference. Nothing. While this goes on very smoothly and caused me no irritation whatsoever, I didn't see any difference in the creases and lines around my under eye area. It may have some mild brightening effect, but since I have no problem with dark circles, its not going to change my rating of 2 lippies for this product. This also contains the littlest amount of product ever in any eye cream I ever purchased. Less than 3 months down the line, I'm completely out. No love lost here

Cleansers -Neutrogena - Fresh Foaming Cleanser
rated 4 of 5

I love this mild creamy cleanser. It does a decent job of removing my make-up, though I usually get the last traces of eye-liner off with the alcohol-free toner but all-in-all this is pretty good. Love the fragrance and the fact that the lather is not over-powering.

Concealers -MAC - select cover-up
rated 4 of 5

This is the only concealer i've ever used so have no other products to compare it with, but for what it is, I'm very satisfied. I have no undereye circles, so can't comment on its use as an undereye concealer, however, i use it to conceal the tiny spots I have on my neck. I apply with my finger and rub in, and a teeny tiny dot is all I need to get a flawless finish. I'm giving this 4 lippies though because it does tend to rub off on clothing that comes in contact with it, so be warned.

Lipstick -Clinique - Different Lipstick - A Different Grape
rated 4 of 5

Got A different grape as a free gift with my clinique purchase and I am loving it right now. It's a lovely berry purple mix that is just great on dark skin. But I think what really impresses me about this lipstick is the texture. Incredibly moisturizing formula. I think this is one of the nicest lip friendly formulas out there. No peeling or dryness, just lovely softness and sheen. Veeery nice! I layer my L'oreal color juice in Cherry on top over this for what I call my porn star lips.. lol.

Lip Gloss -L'Oreal - Colour Juice Cherry on Top
rated 4 of 5

Love the texture and shine of all color juice and this is no exception. Was at Duane Reade to get a back up to my favorite color juice- butterscotch drop, saw this and decided to give it a try and am I glad I did. This is a deep pink gloss with amazing lasting power and shine. I usually layer this over my plum and purple lipsticks to change them up and give more depth. It comes in a squeeze tube with a slant tip and I usually apply this with my finger.

Lip Gloss -L'Oreal - Colour Juice - Butterscotch Drop

This is a nice goldy nude lipgloss. Consistency is a bit thick but it gives better coverage than a lot of other glosses i've tried. I tend to layer all my glosses over lipsticks and this is great for layering over my nude lipsticks. It does have a scent that some may find disturbing but doesn't bother me and this is pretty long-lasting and gives lips a glossy shimmery look. I love this gloss and will re-purchase when i run out. Edit: This is my HG nude gloss and I'm completely sold. Amazing texture and shine that lasts even through meals and drinks.

Lip Gloss -L'Oreal - L'Oreal Colour Riche Lip Gloss Soft Nude
rated 3 of 5
thandiepixie 7/23/2010 8:32:00 AM

This is a nice taupe brown lipgloss. Like most lipglosses, on my pigmented lips, this is not opaque enough to give coverage and you just get a good sheen. I like this lipgloss though because i can layer it over any lipstick to mute the color and add sheen to my lips. It lasts longer when layered as opposed to using it alone. I would keep buying this because it is a unique shade in nude lipglosses. Most other nude lipglosses are yellow based.

Treatments (Eye) -Derma E - Pycnogenol and Hyaluronic Acid Eye Creme
rated 2 of 5

I hate to bring the ratings for this down, but truth be told, this did nothing for me. Yes, it did not sting or burn on application, but it also did not hydrate enough to soften my undereye lines. I guess my search for HG eye cream continues.

Makeup Brushes -Make Up For Ever - Kabuki Brush
rated 5 of 5
thandiepixie 7/22/2010 9:33:00 AM

This is my beauty find of the year! Thanks MUA for all the reviews that led me to this beauty in a zipper case. Awesome brush, applies my MAC studio fix and blot powder like a dream. Flawless finish. I don't ever look caked up. After I got this brush, I had lots of friends asking if I had changed my powder or foundation. That's what this brush does for you. It gives you an air-brushed look. It's wonderful that it comes in its own zipper case as it's protected from other make-up items in my case. It does take a while to dry when its washed but I don't mind. This is far superior to my former love, MAC 187 brush which has now been relegated to a blush brush (very occasional use as I'm not big on blush... for now anyway). Love this!!

Lipstick -NYX - perfect taupe
rated 2 of 5
thandiepixie 7/22/2010 9:22:00 AM

This makes me look washed out and sickly. Its too grey for me (C8 in MAC studio fix). It's a bit wearable when paired with the right gloss but why bother when there are loads of flattering nudes that complement my skin. I gave this to a friend who is about an NW50 in MAC studio fix and it was the perfect nude for her paired with Nyx mega shine gloss in natural. This is actually great for very dark skinned girls. Try it out if you are that shade.

Lipstick -NYX - Hermes
rated 5 of 5
thandiepixie 7/22/2010 9:14:00 AM

Nyx Hermes is a pinky nude on me. Very flattering on my MAC C8 skin. Application of this is a breeze because of the moisturising formula. I'm giving this 4 lippies cos the color is really flattering and I love it so much that I only wear clear gloss over this. Edit: I'm changing my rating and giving this top marks cos this is the best pinky nude lippie i've tried and I've tried plenty. Highly recommend!

Lip Gloss -MAC - Lipglass in Oyster Girl
rated 3 of 5
thandiepixie 7/21/2010 7:43:00 AM

Oyster girl is a pretty, almost white-pink on my lips. Not a look I go for these days. However, it is a staple for me now, cos I use it over a lot of my lipsticks to lighten or add warmth and gloss. My favorite look is to layer OG over my Victoria's secret Melt lipstick (plum colored lippie). It looks divine.

Lip Gloss -MAC - Viva Glam V Lipglass
rated 4 of 5
thandiepixie 7/21/2010 7:33:00 AM

Nice enough nude lipgloss. On my bare highly pigmented lips, this is not opaque enough to give coverage. It just adds some shine. However, this lipgloss is fabulous for layering over nude lipsticks and that's what i use it for. Will probably not re-purchase since I discovered some equally fab drugstore nude lipglosses.

Lipstick -Victoria's Secret - Perfect Lipstick - Melt
rated 4 of 5
thandiepixie 7/21/2010 7:12:00 AM

This is my new HG plum lippie and what a find! It's been difficult to find a plum lip color I could live with. My skin tone is C8 in MAC studio fix. Ever since Estee lauder discontinued my fav lip vinyl - Plastique plum, i've been on the search for a replacement. Most plums have too much red in them and don't really suit me but VS melt is fabulous on me. It's a creamy formula that just glides on and doesn't dry out my lips. The color is rich plum, even though it is described as brown on the VS website. I actually ordered it online, expecting a brown lipstick, was dismayed to see a plum colored lipstick but that changed when i tried it on. It is even more fabulous when I use MAC lipglass in Oyster girl over it , makes it just a tad bit lighter and glossier. You should try it out! EDIT: Still loving this, though i'm bumping it down to 4 lippies as I don't think it's HG.

Lipstick -Victoria's Secret - Perfect Lipstick-Scrumptious
rated 5 of 5
thandiepixie 7/21/2010 6:47:00 AM

OMG!! Where has this lippie been all my life?? This is the most amazing nude lipstick i have ever come across and believe me I've tried them all - NARS Honolulu honey, MAC Siss etc. I can't rave about it enough. It's best described as a peachy nude, a tad pinker than honolulu honey, but still in the peach family. It goes on incredibly moisturising and creamy and doesn't dry out my lips, VS really hit the jackpot with this formula. It is pretty long lasting, I usually re-apply after lunch and i'm very okay with that. It has a very faint almost vanilla smell which I only detected on sniffing the tube, don't think it would bother anyone. I usually apply Scrumptious, then top it off with L'oreal color juice in Butterscotch drop for a glossy, nude scrumptious pout! Love it!
