Eye Shadow -Urban Decay - Toasted
rated 5 of 5
taylor123 9/8/2012 10:58:00 PM

Absolutely GORGEOUS eyeshadow! I saw this shadow in the Naked Palette which I was thinking of getting but almost all the colors in the palette were something I already had in my collection and considering the palette is 50$ I didn't want to be foolish and waste the money but one color I wouldn't stop looking at was toasted. This is the most beautiful pinky coppery color with a little bit of bronze undertones. I have dark brown eyes and it compliments them so well! It's a very interesting color cause sometimes it looks like it even has some taupe or purple undertones to it too! In the sunlight it looks so glowing and pretty! I can pair this shadow with so many other colors! Even though most of the time I just wear this by itself with some mascara and liner. Also I don't have issues with this shadow creasing either. Which is awesome! I don't know if it's the formula or what but it sticks for so long. Speaking of the formula it has a very nice soft buttery texture. It's extremely pigmented and you don't need much! A little bit of a fall out but not that much! This is one of my go to shadows and I'm so glad I bought it! Would definitely recommend it!

Fragrances -Aquolina - Pink Sugar
rated 2 of 5
taylor123 9/8/2012 10:47:00 PM

I was very interested in giving this perfume a try because there is sooooo much hype around it. First of all I did NOT buy this perfume, I was thinking about it but before I buy any perfume, I spray it on myself and walk around and shop to make sure it something I want to spend my money on. I sprayed it in ULTA and walked around for about an hour and a half. Honestly, I didn't like it at all. When I first sprayed it I got this burnt sugar smell followed by cotton candy. I let it sit on my skin and hang out for a while and I still couldn't fall in love with it. Once it sat on my skin I also got the raspberry note a little bit but everything nice about it was just overpowered and overwhelmed by the gross burned sugar smell. A couple hours later, or that evening the die down was a light vanilla cupcake smell. The die down is the only good thing about this perfume and that's not good. When you get a perfume you want the top, middle and bottom notes to be nice but with this it's the bottom that is the nicest. I feel like it could have been a lot better for how much they were asking for it. I'd say if you want a sweet perfume you'd be better off with Britney Spears Fantasy either the original or the Midnight Fantasy or even something like Prada Candy or Vera Wang Princess. Those are sweet scents without the sickening artificial quality that this one has. I'm SO glad that I was given this as a gift or something cause I would never wear it. I like sweet perfumes but this one is just gross. Lots of better ones out there.

Fragrances -Chanel - Chance Eau Tendre

Before I review this, I want to say that if youre thinking of getting this perfume don't just base all of your opinion on the reviews you read on here. Mostly because what it smells like on me could be completely different than what it smells like on you. Everyone's own body chemistry can change the scent a lot so be aware of that. Now my own personal opinion is this is my favorite perfume of all time, I have loved it for years and it's my signature scent. This is what I wear almost every day. Something about it when it hits my skin just makes me smell so youthful and fresh. This perfume is delicious in my opinion. It's not one of those sweet scents like Vera Wang Princess or something but it has a sweet element to it. It's not like a candy sweet, it's more of like a fruity sweet. Some people think it's very floral but to me it falls in between being clean smelling and floral/fruity smelling. It's not overwhelmingly floral, if it were I would never have bought it because I'm not huge on really floral perfumes. I'm very sensitive to perfumes as well. I'm very picky cause some of them can give me headaches. I don't have that problem with this one. Even though I got the eu de toilette, it seems more like an eu de perfume to me. The lasting power is fantastic. It lasts all day and doesn't smell like something totally different after a few hours. It stays quite true to what it smells like when it's first sprayed. I'd say its good for girls who are between the ages of 17-25ish. It's not really young smelling like a Britney Spears perfume but it's not old ladyish like some other perfumes can be. I always get complimented when I wear it. It's Chanel so obviously it's going to be expensive but it lasts me a long time and I don't at all regret spending the money. Overall this is the only perfume I have bothered to repurchase ever and I'm in love with it. I have been for a couple years now and I havent gotten tired of it. I don't know why it isnt more popular than it is. Chanel never disappoints! :)

Styling Products -Paul Mitchell - Super Skinny Serum
rated 5 of 5
taylor123 8/31/2012 9:45:00 PM

For starters, I am a HUGE Paul Mitchell fan. This product just made me fall even more in love with his products. I have very thick, heavy hair. I don't blow dry it often but when I do, it takes a million years to get all my hair dry. I can use this product when I want to blow dry it AND when I want my hair to just be towel dried and do it's own thing. I wash my hair and put the serum in when it's damp, not soaking wet but damp. I LOVE the smell, it smells like coconut and pineapple or something. It's like a smooth oil texture but it doesnt get all over the place when I apply it on my hair. It really smooths out my hair and makes it soft and shiny. If you have a little bit of frizz it will take care of that as well. When I use it for blow drying I noticed that it cuts drying time in half! It doesn't take nearly as long to blow dry my fair if I use this stuff. Also it doesn't make my hair oily or sticky at all, it just makes it healthy looking. It is a bit pricey but to be honest I think it's totally worth the money I spent. I will keep repurchasing it. To me it's better than Moroccan oil but that's just my opinion. Overall I would definitely say to give this a shot, it's the only styling product I use or need. I will forever love this.

Fragrances -Dolce & Gabbana - Light Blue
rated 4 of 5
taylor123 8/31/2012 9:36:00 PM

My boyfriend bought me this fragrance for Christmas last year and I have to say it's become one of my favorite perfumes. I would definitely say it's a summer or spring scent. As far as it being fruity or floral, I wouldn't say that it's either one of those. It's reminds me of an air freshener or clothing detergent. It has a really clean fresh smell to it. Also kind of like clean beach air. If you're someone that likes really heavy perfumes you will probably be really disappointed with this because it's not a BAM in your face fragrance at all nor is it extremely feminine or girl. It's very simple. I can wear this to work or to school because it's not really heavy or sickening like some perfumes can be. I always get compliments when I wear it. If you're someone who's not too crazy about perfumes or if you're just starting out in perfumes, this would be a great one to experiment with because it's so easily worn. Really nice perfume. It's one of my top 3 perfumes ever.

Conditioner -TiGi - Superstar
rated 3 of 5
taylor123 8/31/2012 9:21:00 PM

Even though I answered No to whether I would buy them again, I still haven't really made up my mind. I have very thick, heavy hair and sometimes it can kind of look dead and not have any movement so that's why I bought these products. Firs of all, I LOVE the scent. The conditioner smells like candy and the shampoo smells like strawberry soda or something. They smell delicious. The texture of the conditioner is very smooth and creamy like butter and it makes my hair feel super soft. I definitely feel like my hair had more volume but it didn't make my hair any more moisturized, in fact I think it may have dried it out a little bit. I can't seem to use this all the time, I always end up going back to my Head and Shoulders Green Apple Shampoo which really makes my hair healthy and pretty. I like to use it like every once in a while when I'm going out somewhere and need something to give my hair a little more life. It's not my go to or HG product though. I think it's a bit overpriced. I like the packaging. All Bead Head TiGi products have amazing packaging. Overall I liked it but I don't know if I would spend the money on it again.

Eyeliner -Chanel - STYLO YEUX WATERPROOF Celadon
rated 5 of 5
taylor123 8/30/2012 11:14:00 PM

I swear, this is the most AMAZING eye liner I have ever used. I was previously using the Stila Kajul Eye Liner in Onyx which is the black one. It was a good eye liner but it didn't last as long as I hoped it would. By the time I was done using it I couldn't sharpen it anymore (it's a pencil, not a twist up) it was so small and tiny so I got good use out of it but I was looking around for a better one. I was shopping around in Saks Fifth Avenue at my mall and I always get sucked into the Chanel counter. I was looking around and I told the lady working there that I was looking for a new eye liner, she suggested this one and I am so glad that she did! It was expensive, 30 dollars is the most I have ever spent on an eye liner ever! My mom almost killed me :D I have to say it was well worth the money though! It lasts all day long, I have worn it for 8 hours + and it still looks flawless! I have oily skin and I always had an issue with my Stila one fading and smearing, this Chanel one does neither of those things. It's soft and applied very easily, also nice if you want to smudge it into your lashline or something. Once you let it set into your waterline, this stuff is staying! It won't come off for anything! However I don't have a hard time removing it with makeup remover. It stays on throughout the day but I don't have to pull or tug at my eyes to get it off either. I love the packaging, very classic black stick. It's a twist up which I mentioned before so you don't have to sharpen it. I wish you got a little bit more of the product, especially for how expensive it is but it's still great! Overall I would definitely recommend this and I plan on purchasing this unless I find something just as good but not expensive. I have yet to find something better than this though. I love this!

Lip Treatments -MAC - Tinted Lip Conditioner - Petting Pink
rated 5 of 5
taylor123 8/30/2012 10:58:00 PM

I absolutely LOVE this product! I have big lips that tend to get dried out easily, especially during the winter time. I purchased this a while ago at a MAC store and have been in love with it ever since! First, I love the Petting Pink color (I have not used any of the other colors), It gives me the nicest pink sheen. It doesn't give too much color or too little color. It is noticeable. It gives me the perfect amount of moisture! It helps with my dry lips. I LOVE the scent. It has a lovely vanilla scent, my mom says it smells like creme brulee and my boyfriend loves the scent too! The packaging is nice except I would probably prefer it in a tube or stick form but the fact that it's in a little plastic jar doesn't keep me from loving or repurchasing it. When my lips get really banged up from the cold weather I still use my Carmax tube chapstick to heal them and get them back to health but this MAC one is great for on the go when I need to moisturize my lips. I keep it in my school backpack. It's 15 dollars which is kind of pricey but I expected it from MAC. If it were cheaper that would be great but I won't stop buying it because of the price. I believe I got what I paid for. Overall I would definitely recommend this! Awesome product! :)

Mascara -BeneFit Cosmetics - They're Real
rated 3 of 5
taylor123 8/30/2012 10:45:00 PM

So I have the most obnoxious lashes ever. They don't curl, they have no length and there's not too many of them. So you can tell I need to get a lot out of a mascara. I have tried lots, mostly drugstore ones which work out okay but nothing wonderful. I heard a lot about this mascara on youtube and I figured I would give it a try. I purchased it at my ULTA store, and it cost 23 dollars which isn't as expensive as the YSL mascara I wanted but a little more than the drugstore ones I had tried. I have to say I'm a bit disappointed. I'm not impressed at all.The name "They're Real" kind of makes you think that they are going to give you glamorous lashes like you would get from wearing fake lashes. I'm not a fake lash person at all but I do like the dramatic, plush, dark look for my lashes. The formula is okay, it's not really clumpy but there's not much to it either. The wand is kinda chubby with spikes all around it and has no fibers. It DID give me the illusion of having more lashes and making them thicker but it did NOT lengthen them or curl them from what I could see. It doesn't do what you would expect it too. I think if you have long lashes already it would work a lot better but I have quite pathetic lashes so I needed a lot more out of it. I will continue to use it up because it's not a horrible product, just not impressive. I often find myself skipping mascara because I just forget about it. On the plus side, the packaging is really nice! Very simple, not too big. It doesn't take up a lot of room in my makeup bag. Overall, I don't love or hate this mascara, it's okay but I definitely won't repurchase it again.

Highlighters -Bobbi Brown - Shimmer Brick Shimmerbrick Compact in Bronze
rated 5 of 5
taylor123 8/30/2012 10:37:00 PM

I actually did not buy this product, my mother had bought it and didn't feel that it worked for her skin tone. My mom is quite pale and I on the other hand have a very tan bronze complexion (I'm from South America). She gave it to me after she found something that she liked better. I must say I am SO thankful that she gave this to me! This is the most beautiful highlighter I have ever seen or used. It's the most gorgeous combination of colors for my skin tone! The colors are a white pearly color, a purple/pinky, a bronze, a rose gold pink and a darker brown, all with gold shimmer. I used a fluffy eco tools brush and just sweep it across my cheek bone. You don't need much to get a good result! (Keep in mind I have the Bronze one, I have not tried the others.) This highlighter looks like a candlelight glow on my skin. It doesn't make it look shiny like being oily or anything just very healthy and glowy.Whenever I wear this I get multiple compliments on how pretty my skin looks. I would definitely say that this compliments darker skin tones the best as I think it looks too dark for paler skins. It gives me a great sun kissed look like I just got back from the beach. It is Bobbi Brown so it is quite expensive ( I looked it up on the Bobbi Brown website), it costs 40 dollars. I am going to have it for a while cause as I said you don't need to use too much to get a good result, but I will definitely buy it whenever I run out, I do wish it were a bit cheaper though. You can get something from MAC for cheaper I'm sure. The packing is nice, all black with Bobbi Brown logo on the front. It's plastic so I would be careful, the product might crack or shatter if you drop it. Even though it's a quite chunky compact, it doesn't feel too durable to me. I wish it were a bit thinner compact cause it takes up A LOT of room in my makeup bag, sometimes I will take it out and not to bring it to save room. Those are the only down sides I have; the price and the packaging. I can overlook those because of how beautiful it is though. This is my HG highlighter and I would definitely recommend that. Keep in mind there are other colors so if you're pale or have a different skin tone you have lots of options! :)

Moisturizers -Aveeno - Aveeno Clear Complexion Daily Moisturizer
rated 5 of 5
taylor123 8/30/2012 10:21:00 PM

I had a bad reaction to a Neutrogena product and was once again I was on the market for some skin care goodies to take care of my hormonal breakouts but also help calm my skin down from the horrible reaction I had had. I ended up buying the Aveeno Clear Complexion Daily Moisturizer and the corresponding cream cleanser (which I have also reviewed). Before this I was using the Garnier Moisture Rescue Refreshing Gel Creme which don't get me wrong, I liked it but it didn't help with my breakouts. I'm usually a gel moisturizer person as I hadnt found a cream facial moisturizer that I liked. I bought the Aveeno Clear Complexion set and WOW, it's great! I'm not gonna review the Cleanser because I have already but the moisturizer is also wonderful. It smells nice, very clean and fresh. Not strong like there could be funky chemicals in it. It's not greasy or heavy at all. Makes my skin so soft and smooth. I have oily/combo skin and it did NOT make me oilier than usual. It actually helped with my oiliness. It also helps with my breakouts! I've had nothing but good results from this. One thing I will say is that there is quite a difference in price between this moisturizer and the corresponding cream cleanser. The cleanser was about 7-8 dollars and the moisturizer was 14-15. I'm not sure why but it won't stop me from repurchasing it because I definitely believe it's worth the money. It's 7 dollars more than the Garnier one I was using previously but the results I get from this one can't even be compared to the Garnier one. I would definitely recommend this to anyone that needs a good acne clearing moisturizer. Love this and love Aveeno products! Will continue using this. My search is over!.

Cleansers -Aveeno - Clear Complexion Cream Cleanser
rated 5 of 5
taylor123 8/30/2012 10:10:00 PM

So I had just had a horrible reaction to a Neutrogena acne wash and I was looking for something to help with my breakouts and also kinda calm my skin down. I ended up not using ANY skin care products for a couple days so my skin could recover from the Neutrogena incident. After about a week I was in Walmart and saw the Aveeno Clear Complexion Cream Cleanser. I had used Aveeno before when I went on vacation and stayed at my aunts house. She had a couple products in the guest bathroom and I used them and loved them! So I figured why not give it a try. It has 2% Salicylic acid but the rest of the ingredients were very natural and didn't seem to have any crazy chemicals in it. I also bought the corresponding moisturizer (I wrote a review on that as well). It cost about 7-8 dollars which is reasonable for the amount you get and the nice packaging. I used it the night I bought it and WOW. It helped heal my skin from the Neutrogena reaction but ALSO helped clear out my breakouts! It moisturized the areas that were dry and flaky but also controlled the oil in my oily spots! It completely balanced out my skin and made it look so fresh and healthy! I still use it and it's my go to every day cleanser. I use it both morning and night. I love the smell! It doesn't smell strong or like it has heavy chemicals in it. It smells very fresh. I love the texture, it's very creamy but also has these little green microbeads that wash away the dead skin without over drying my skin. The beads aren't rough like the St. Ives apricot scrub but it's still enough to exfoliate a little bit. It leaves my skin very soft and smooth. One thing I will say that might bother people is that after I rinse it leaves kind of a waxy feeling on my skin but nothing major. Definitely doesn't keep me from using it. Goes away after you dry your face. I love the packaging, I like the squeeze tube, it doesn't get messy or leak out anywhere. It lasts me a long time because you don't need much to get a good lather on your face. I would DEFINITELY recommend this to people who are looking for something to keep their skin clear but don't want anything too harsh. It's strong in the sense that it does the job at getting rid of my breakouts but it's not strong in the sense that it would irritate my skin. I haven't had any issues with it whatsoever. I love Aveeno and this is one of my favorite skin care products of all time! :)

Concealers -Bobbi Brown - Corrector
rated 4 of 5
taylor123 8/16/2012 1:41:00 PM

Not gonna lie, I have pretty bad dark circles. I'm a college student studying dental so you can imagine I don't always get the recommended amount of sleep haha. I used to use a Clinique liquid concealer which was nice but didn't last as long as I wanted. I went to a Bobbi Brown counter and decided to give this a shot. I must say I love this. The texture is kind of on the sticky side, similar to Mac Studio Sculpt but a bit smoother. No matter what shade you are it has a peachy pinky undertone to it which cancels out all the blue under the eyes. It really gives me that well rested look and brightens up my eye area. I find it's best applied with my ring finger. I have tried brushes but it doesn't work as well. Sometimes it goes into the fine lines under my eyes but if I use a good eye cream it's not as bad. The lasting power is great. The packaging is also nice. It's expensive but not too expensive. Mine was about 25 dollars with tax but I don't feel guilty about buying it. You don't have to use a lot to get a good result so it's gonna last me a long time. I would definitely recommend this to people that need more than just a concealer for their dark circles. My new Holy Grail product.

Liquid -Chanel - Vitalumiere Aqua
rated 4 of 5
taylor123 8/16/2012 1:32:00 PM

LOVE this foundation. For starters, it's a really nice texture and it blends easily. The finish is very natural, not matte but not really glowy either. It does have a scent but it's nothing really strong or annoying. To me it smells like sun tan lotion and I can only smell it when I'm applying it, once it's on my skin I dont notice the smell anymore. I also like how it can be used on lots of skin types. I have oily combo skin and all I have to do is powder it to make it last and it looks great! It also suites dryer skin types and looks beautiful on them. The lasting power for ME is about 6-8 hours but I don't wear my makeup all day long so that's perfect for me. If you want it to last longer than that I would suggest a primer or a powder and you'd probably have to touch up a bit throughout the day. It gives me enough coverage to cover my pesky dark circles and evens out my skin tone but it's not for people who want FULL coverage and need to cover bad scaring or acne. It's very light but it doesn't look like I'm wearing nothing which I like. I also live in Florida where it's very hot and I don't have an issue with it slipping off my face.I like how it's oil free as well. Apparently it has lotus flower water in it which I think is what gives it the nice smell. You had to shake it up before you use it or else it comes out watery and it separates. As for the packaging, the squeeze top gets messy. I wish it came in a pump bottle like the rest of Chanel's foundations. However I do like that it's plastic and not frosted glass like the others. You can put it in your bag or travel with it without worrying about it breaking. It's very expensive, 45 dollars is what I paid for mine. If it were cheaper I wouldnt feel the need to look around for cheaper options. I will continue to use this until I find something better. I do like this foundation though.

Moisturizers -Garnier - Moisture Rescue Refreshing Gel-Cream
rated 4 of 5
taylor123 8/16/2012 1:19:00 PM

Been using this for a while and I have to admit I really like it. First of all, i LOVE the smell. It smells like apples or grapes and its really refreshing. I'm a fan of gel moisturizers and this one is one of the nicest in my opinion. It absorbs fast into my skin, doesn't leave me feeling oily and doesn't leave a greasy residue on my skin. Feels very soft and smooth. Doesn't really make acne any better or worse. It has never broken me out but it doesn't really help acne either but it's not made as an acne moisturizer so I expected that. As for the packaging I wish it had come in a pump bottle or even a squeeze tube. I don't like having to put my fingers in the jar and dig out what I want. It's hard to go the right amount that way and it's kind of messy. Hard to travel with because I'm pretty sure it's a glass jar and would definitely break if dropped. Also the ingredients aren't that great for your skin. Apparently it has alcohol in it which isn't very comforting. I would be even more of a fan if it had better or more natural ingredients. I always have to think twice about buying it because of that. However, it's never hurt my skin yet but maybe over time it will. Not sure. I will continue to use this until I find something better. Overall it is a nice product, just gonna keep an eye out for other things. Wouldnt call this a holy grail.
