Fragrances -Donna Karan - Delicious Night
rated 4 of 5
takemyhusbandplz 5/10/2012 1:01:00 PM

This fragrance I discovered in a fragrance swap. What a great find! I really enjoy this one. I agree with the reviewer on Fragrantica who stated that this perfume is a "night fragrance for the tame". I, too, wear this fragrance during the day. On my skin I get the orchid, a hint of blackberries, the pomelo, and a touch of myrrh and amber. Though, the orchid and pomelo are the foremost notes on my skin during the first few hours. After this simmers on my skin for over 4 hours the myrrh and amber really come alive. I really like this one. This fragrance has a low sillage, which makes this a nice intimate scent or a scent that could very well be worn in hot weather. Delicious Night also reminds me of CKs Euphoria in the intial top notes, though it's sillage is not as strong as Euphoria on my skin. Whereas, Delicous Nights it takes 2 sprays, Euphoria only takes 1 on me. They both are very long lasting fragrances.

Eyeliner -Urban Decay - 24-7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Zero
rated 4 of 5
takemyhusbandplz 5/7/2012 1:18:00 PM

I RIS this eyeliner. It works great, it truly does just glide right on and stays put. This eyeliner even lasted through a cry :). However, I would never pay retail prices for this pencil. This pencil is a very soft pencil and I didn't have to warm it up one time. Though, I get very similar results with my usual NYC eyeliner in Black and it's usually only a couple bucks. Though, this is still a great eyeliner.

Fragrances -Guerlain - Eau de Shalimar
rated 4 of 5
takemyhusbandplz 5/5/2012 2:02:00 PM

To me this smells nearly identical to Shalimar Eau Legere, which, I also love. It just doesn't seem to quite as bright and deep as Eau Legere, there's something that Guerlain changed in Eau Legere when they discontinued it and revamped it as Eau de Shalimar. The notes I smell here are bergamot, lime, resins, iris, jasmine and the orange. I know Eau Legere had amber and lemon. I think Eau de Shalimar has more orange, iris and bergamot. Eau de Shalimar as it dries down tends to smell a bit dusty on me, as many iris notes do on my skin. Though, I do like this very much. It has great sillage and last a long time on the skin. I prefer Shalimar Eau Legere much more, but, this one I like as well.

Treatments (Eye) -DHC - Eye Wrinkle Stick
rated 5 of 5
takemyhusbandplz 5/4/2012 6:55:00 PM

I love this product for using underneath my eyes where the first fine lines are starting. It seems to plump the lines with consistant use. It has collagen, royal jelly, evening primrose oil and olive oil amongst the ingredients. I'd definitely repurchase. I love the packaging, it's so easy to tuck into your purse to use during the day as well.

Misc Beauty Tools -DHC - Body Cleansing Sheets Powder
rated 4 of 5
takemyhusbandplz 5/4/2012 6:07:00 PM

These are mentholated, mesh sheets that wipe away sweat, griminess, dirt, etc. They are supposed to leave a powdery silky feeling after using. I bought these to use when working out or to use at work if I get sweaty. Sometimes if my hormones are raging even my Clinical deodorant can bail on me and I thought these would be handy to have for those times of the month. These are small and portable and you can easily tuck them into your jean pocket, purse or glove box. These have a nice subtle menthol scent. My only gripe is that if you use them to wipe you underarms it doesn't feel silky like powder, it seems to stay damp for longer than I like. Though, if you wipe off your neck and chest it does feel like you've just put body powder on. I'd recommend these, with caveats if you want them when you get really sweaty. Otherwise good product.

Eye Shadow -L.A. Colors - 5 Color Metallic Eyeshadow in Wine & Roses
rated 5 of 5
takemyhusbandplz 5/4/2012 5:42:00 PM

I've used so many eyeshadows on the market from Dior, Givenchy, MAC, Guerlain Ombres, Estee Lauder- just to name a few. My favorite shadows are usually Estee Lauder and Guerlain Ombres, but, these LA Color palattes come in 2nd. For a lousy $1-$3 at our town's Family Dollar store you can find these. The Wine and Roses palatte is my favorite of all the palettes, but, our store hasn't had it in stock for a few months, more women must be finding it now. The pinks are very pigmented, shimmery and I think the applicators are made much better than EL applicators for sure (as my EL applicators end up falling apart) and the shades last all day even without primer. I'd highly recommend.

Mascara -New York Color - Sky Rise Lengthening Mascara
rated 5 of 5
takemyhusbandplz 5/4/2012 5:21:00 PM

If you're in the market for a drier type of lengthening mascera this is for you. There's nothing my baby fine lashes hate more than a wet, gloppy mascera. I also purchased this in an "emergency" situation as my usual mascera (L'oreal's Telescopic in Carbon Black) was out of stock. Since this mascera is dirt cheap (around $2), I figured if it didn't work I wasn't out much. At first I didn't like it as it didn't seem to separate my lashes enough. Then I used the wand from my Telescopic mascera instead, and it worked awesome. It does lengthen lashes and the black shade is a very deep black. It seems to last all day with out flaking or smudging too. The only gripe I have is that it drys even faster than my Telescopic mascera so if you don't put it on quickly it can give you Tammy Faye Baker lashes if you're not careful and I don't like the wand it comes with. Overall, though for a miserly $2 I can work quick and use my Telescopic wand.

Eye Shadow -Revlon - Diamond Lust Eye Shadow
rated 5 of 5
takemyhusbandplz 5/4/2012 1:31:00 PM

Absolutely love this shadow in the light pink "Starry Night". Just enough sparkle/glitter to make your eyes stand out but, not look over done. I agree with the reviewer who called this shade a "mature sparkle". This shadow in "Starry Night" I use as an all over lid shade sometimes by itself or as a highlighter on the brow bone. I'm a brunette, with hazel/green eyes that have a blue ring around the iris and this is one of the best pinks for making my eyes "pop". My husband always compliments my eyes when I'm wearing this shade. I love this, hopefully Revlon won't ever d/c it.

Eyeliner -Avon - Glimmersticks Diamonds - Sugar Plum
rated 4 of 5
takemyhusbandplz 5/4/2012 12:55:00 PM

I had given up on Avon eyeliners many years ago, because, for awhile all the ones I bought were not soft enough for me to wear. I usually wear eyeliner on the inside of my bottom eyelid above the bottom eyelashes and they wouldn't glide on there, like my usual kohl NYC liners. Well, I RIS one of these eyeliners as an extra- I like it, it glided on very smooth and only took a few applications to build up color on the inside of my eyelid after I warmed it up a bit on a piece of paper. I love the color of this Sugar Plum. I have hazel/green eyes that have a blue ring around the iris and this color is perfect for my eyes. I'll definitely repurchase these again when I run out. The only reason I knocked one lippie off is because, there's not too much glitter, but, this color does stand out for cooler or neutral complexions. I'd highly recommend.

Fragrances -Avon - Outspoken by Fergie
rated 3 of 5
takemyhusbandplz 5/3/2012 8:06:00 PM

On my skin, Outspoken has no detectable tuberose or leather. All I get is the fruit notes mostly star fruit and black currant. On my skin this smells EXACTLY like Incanto Dream (according to Frangrantica Incanto Dream also has black current and passion fruit). Actually, the lasting power of this scent is incredible. It lasted on me well over 6 hours with just 2 sprays. While I like this perfume, mostly fruity scents are not my cup of tea, so I wouldn't repurchase.

Fragrances -Laura Mercier - Almond Coconut Eau Gourmande
rated 3 of 5
takemyhusbandplz 5/3/2012 7:39:00 PM

Personally, I like the intial top notes on my skin it really smells of coconut tanning oil. After about 15 minutes of drydown it does get an artificial rubber/dirt type of essense, but there's still that coconut note that I really like. It does remind me of the beach and of what dirty sand would smell like. Oh, how I wish that artificial note wasn't in this, as I would love it. It's a very long lasting scent on the skin, well over 4 hours on my skin and still going strong. I do like this one, but, I don't like it enough to purchase a bottle. Overall, try before you buy as this is one that from the reviews seems to be so different on everyone.

Styling Products -Paul Mitchell - Thicken Up Styling Liquid
rated 5 of 5
takemyhusbandplz 4/25/2012 8:07:00 AM

Intially, I purchased this on a whim after the store was out of the Paul Mitchell's Skinny Serum (which I also love). I have long, baby fine & wavy hair. I apply after I towel dry and pick out my hair then I finger comb it into the ends of my hair and put a small amount all over my hair then pick out my hair again. Then I let my hair dry naturally. This product really gives a great texture to my hair's natural wave and really makes my hair shiny and healthy looking. I especially, love how my hair looks if I blow dry or straighten my hair when I use this product. I usually use 2 pumps and that's perfect for my hair. I've gotten compliments on how shiny my hair is after I've used it. The only thing I don't like is, that if I use this the next morning, after I comb my hair out before washing it makes my hair more frizzy then usual. Otherwise, I love it!

Primer/ Corrector -DHC - Velvet Skin Coat
rated 4 of 5
takemyhusbandplz 4/18/2012 6:54:00 AM

Originally, I didn't like this product. Well, I recently revisited it and now I'm really liking it. I have a very hectic lifestyle and some mornings I don't have time to do my full make-up routine with my foundation. I have larger pores in the T-zone, so when I don't have time to put on foundation in the morning I just use this on my face. It makes my pores look much smaller and it keeps the oilies at bay all day in the T-zone. This is great for making your skin look more perfect without the use of foundation. Personally, I don't like to use this under my foundation as it will make my face a bit itchy immediately. It doesn't if I use it by itself, but, by the end of the day my face will start to be a bit itchy. There must be something in it my skin is sensitive to. Otherwise, this is great to make your skin just naturally look glowing without make-up.

Toners -DHC - Pore Lotion
rated 5 of 5
takemyhusbandplz 3/31/2012 5:47:00 AM

According to DHC, This gentle, alcohol-free toner contains brown algae extract to support collagen and scavenge free radicals on skin’s surface. Plus, zinc PCA helps control excess sebum while mushroom extract helps visibly tighten pores. I've been using this toner for about 2 months, morning and night after washing my face. I have large pores in the T-zone, especially in the cheekbone area. I have saw visible results- my pores look smaller and clearer. This is a gentle toner yet it removes lots of dirt. I'd highly recommend. You get 4oz for $35, which I'd usually never pay for a toner, but, I'd definiately repurchase.

Moisturizers -DHC - Pore Milk
rated 5 of 5
takemyhusbandplz 3/31/2012 5:38:00 AM

This is a lightweight moisturizer, but, I also use it at night. I use it at night after I've used the DHC Pore Lotion and on top of a good quality retinol cream. I also use a little in the daytime under my foundation, it doesn't take too much. This moisturizer helps control excess sebum, it clarifies pores, fights blemishes, all while supporting your skin’s natural moisture barrier. According to DHC, it has artichoke leaf extract, vitamin C and a powerful antioxidant called oxyresveratrol to help firm skin and clarify pores so they look. I have large pores in the T zone, especially in the cheekbone area. Since I've been using this product and the matching toner I do see a difference in the pore size and especially the clarity of my skin. For the price of $35 you get 2.7 fluid oz of product and I think it's worth it.
