Fragrances -Thierry Mugler - Angel Innocent
sunshine880 2/20/2010 5:47:00 PM
I love vanilla, so for some reason someone pushed me to try this. Unfortunately, I absolutely hate the smell of this (and I smell no vanilla in it at all). I guess it is just like the regular Angel, you either love it or hate it. Someone below described it as smelling like hair spray, and I would have to agree. In addition, it is so strong it's hard to get rid of. I came home and washed my wrist three times, then had to break out some exfoliating scrub to try and get this smell off of me, and yet I can still smell of hint of this. I realize that I have smelled this before on other people before, and hated it on them too.

Fragrances -Banana Republic Beauty - Indulging Body Mist - Soft Vanilla
sunshine880 2/6/2010 8:44:00 PM
Unfortunately, I don't think Banana Republic is making this anymore. I find it every once in awhile at TJ Maxx for the bargain price of $5.00. Worth every penny. It smells yummy. I spray it on my clothes, bedding, in my car, pretty much anywhere that needs a burst of fresh vanilla scent. If you can find it, pick some up!

Conditioner -Sebastian - Drench
sunshine880 2/6/2010 8:39:00 PM
I use this conditioner along with the Drench shampoo. I love this. It leaves my hair so conditioned, shiny and silky, but not weighed down. Plus, it smells great. If you are on the hunt for a great conditioner, definitely give this one a try!

Shampoo -Sebastian - Drench
sunshine880 2/6/2010 8:36:00 PM
I recently tried this shampoo for the first time, and I love it. It leaves my hair very soft and silky. It smells nice as well. It is expensive though, and it does not seem to go on sale anywhere (I usually buy my salon shampoo during the liter sales or a buy one get one). However, I like it so much I will probably end up shelling out the money for it. Worth a try if you are looking for a new shampoo!

Fragrances -Stella McCartney - Stella- Eau de Parfum
sunshine880 2/6/2010 8:28:00 PM
This is a high quality fragrance that I find very unique. It seems to have good staying power (I could still faintly smell it when I woke up in the morning after putting it on the night before). Unfortunately, it turned out to be too sweet for me (headache inducing). But if you are a fan of floral scents, especially rose, you should definitely try this. I can see why so many people like it, even though it is not for me.

Fragrances -Lavanila - Vanilla Grapefruit ROLLER BALL
sunshine880 2/6/2010 8:20:00 PM
I really like this. However, my husband (who loves the smell of vanilla) isn't crazy about this for some reason, so that limits my wearing it to when he is not around. When I first put this on, the grapefruit scent is overwhelming, but it dries down to a yummy, creamy, unique vanilla. The spray version of this does not smell as good to me for some reason.

Moisturizers -Origins - Starting Over (with Mimosa)
sunshine880 2/2/2010 8:21:00 PM
I had been looking for some sort of an age-defying moisturizer to add to my skincare regimen due to the fact that I am approaching 30 and am starting to get paranoid about getting wrinkles. I saw the advertisements for this new product in several magazines and then decided to give it a try when walking by the Origins counter last week. First off, it smells lovely and fresh (sort of an orange smell). I love the rich, creamy texture, and it soaks into my skin so easily and does not leave a film. So my skin feels moisturized and hydrated, but not greasy. It comes in two versions, regular and oil-free. I got the oil-free one because I was worried about breakouts. It has not caused any so far. It's only been a week, but I swear I can see an improvement in the fine lines on my forehead. I'll come back and update this as time goes by but for now, I am extremely impressed! At $45, it is much more expensive that I would like. However, a little does seem to go a long way so hopefully it will last for awhile. Origins description of product: ___________________________________ It's nature's alternative to injections.* *Results not equal to medical procedures. Starting Over™ Age-erasing moisturizer with Mimosa 94% saw a significant reduction in the appearance of lines and wrinkles. This moisturizer with Mimosa, Argan leaf and Green algae helps to rebuild collagen, repair visible lines and improve skin texture and tone. Skin looks and feels measurably younger from day one. Apply A.M. and P.M. to clean skin. Best for combination/dry skin net wt. 1.7 oz./50 ml

Fragrances -Burberry - Brit Sheer
sunshine880 2/2/2010 7:58:00 PM
This is a pleasant perfume, although I didn't like it well enough to buy it after spraying it on from a tester a couple times. It is light, airy and youthful. However, to me it smells very similar to Estee Lauder Pleasures.

I agree with the person below me that says this seems like a very mature scent (even though it is ironically marketed as youthful). It is kind of heavy for my tastes. Definitely a winter scent. I think it smells the best towards the end of the day after it has been on for many hours and faded quite a bit. Interestingly, I don't smell much vanilla in it. It smells like a mixture of baby powder and marshmallows with a hint of caramel and musk. As others have said, it reminds me of Hanae Mori Butterfly (although I like Butterfly better). I do see why some people would like this scent, even though it's not something I would wear. But make sure that you spray it on at the counter and wear it around for at least a day so you can experience the dry down. The scent definitely changes as it settles.

Concealers -BeneFit Cosmetics - Erase paste
sunshine880 1/28/2010 10:48:00 PM
This product really did nothing for me. It did a very poor job of covering dark circles, settled into fine lines and barely covered blemishes. I experimented with applying different amounts, using my finger vs. a concealer brush, etc. but nothing seemed to make it look any better. The price tag on this stuff is absolutely ridiculous as well. I would suggest taking home a sample (or buying it from somewhere with a good return policy) because the reviews on this vary so much.

Concealers -BeneFit Cosmetics - Boi-ing
sunshine880 1/28/2010 10:38:00 PM
At first, I was very excited about this product. I applied it before work one morning and my skin looked flawless. Even my husband commented on how great my skin looked that day. However, by the time I actually got to work (an hour later) I was shocked to look in the mirror and see that it had pretty much melted off my face. And this is in the middle of winter, so its not like heat or humidity was the problem. Setting it with powder did not help in the least. I tried it a couple more times just to make sure, but it was the same result every time. It has just about the worst staying power of any concealer I have ever tried.

Shampoo -Back to Basics - Coconut Mango Moisture Quenching Shampoo
sunshine880 12/4/2009 9:26:00 PM
This is a very nice shampoo. It leaves my hair cleansed and soft. However, the best part about it is the smell. It always brings a smile to my face as it reminds me of a tropical vacation. Unfortunately, the smell is virtually gone after blowing and styling my hair. But it is a good product that I recommend.

Shampoo -Matrix - Amplify Shampoo
sunshine880 12/4/2009 9:15:00 PM
This is the shampoo that I use most often, solely because of the smell. It is the best-smelling shampoo I have ever come across, and the scent lasts all day. My husband is forever burying his nose in my hair commenting on how good I smell. Random people make comments about how good my hair smells. Honestly, I don't know that it does anything special for the condition of my hair. I use the Color XL version since I have highlighted hair. I don't really notice any extra volume like it is supposed to add. My long, almost waist-length hair is in great condition, mostly from other products I use on my hair including leave-in conditioners and coconut oil. This can be expensive but I stock up when Trade Secret, J.C. Penney or other salon places have good sales and the liters last for months.

Concealers -Maybelline - Superstay
sunshine880 12/4/2009 9:02:00 PM
This is a decent concealer for under the eyes, just make sure you apply a good moisturizer first. It doesn't settle into fine lines much, which is a plus. It certainly doesn't last anywhere near 24 hours but I would say it has above-average lasting power. I do not use it for blemishes though. It slides off, leaving a red pimple surrounded by a cakey ring of concealer, which is not a good look!

Fragrances -Banana Republic Beauty - Classic for women
sunshine880 11/29/2009 1:08:00 AM
Most of the time I stick with scented body lotions as perfumes usually give me a headache. I can't stand the sickly sweet floral scents that seem to be so popular. Banana Republic's Classic perfume is fresh and clean, reminds me of soap or laundry detergent, and is one of the only perfumes I ever wear anymore. As others have mentioned, I do wish it had better lasting power. But overall, I really like it.
