Powder -Pur Minerals - Pressed Powder Foundation

I've been using this for 2-3 months (maybe more) and I really like it. I switched from Tarte Smooth Operator as Sephora had run out of my colour and they were not sure when they were getting more stock. I have very acne prone skin with an oil slick t-zone and occasional dry spots on my cheeks. I also have a lot of redness to cover on my cheeks. This covers everything very well and is easy to layer for more coverage. I am very pale and the lightest shade is perfect on me. I apply using the chisel brush this company makes, the brush is scratchy but it does work well to apply this power. I use a primer underneath and my makeup lasts all day. Took off 1 lippie because it looks a little powdery on my forehead sometimes. Would repurchase.

Eyeliner -Cover Girl - Perfect Point Plus Eyeliners
rated 4 of 5

Bought this because I like the way it looked in the ad with Drew Barrymore lol. It actually works really well! I have never been able to pull off a smokey eye, I am really pale and it tends to look messy on me and too dark. The foam smudging end on this liner worked well to soften out the liner (even underneath my eyes where I am never comfortable wearing liner) and give a beautiful soft look. It did not smear all day and looked quite nice. Probably one of the best pencil liners I have ever used, love that I do not have to sharpen this either. Would repurchase.

Lip Gloss -Cover Girl - Wetslicks - Honey Talks
rated 3 of 5

I can usually wear just about any gloss but this one was way too frosty and beige for me. It has a lot of coverage for a gloss, lasts about as long as most glosses I have used. Would not repurchase the colour is just too unflattering against my skin tone (very pale). Gave it a 3 because it has good colour payoff for a gloss and average lasting power.

Blush -Hard Candy - Fox in a Box Smooth Talker
rated 3 of 5
sterlingK 4/26/2012 12:59:00 PM

I use this as a little shimmer/highlight over my regular blush. It's fine for that, has a sheen to it but is not over the top. There is not a lot of colour to it so I would not use this as my only cheek colour. I am not a fan of the box/packaging, it's annoying to use and close and even a cheap plastic case would have made more sense imo. Might repurchase, put it as a yes for now because it's cheap and works as a subtle highlight which was what I was looking for.

Fragrances -Estee Lauder - Bronze Goddess Eau Fraîche Skinscent
rated 5 of 5
sterlingK 4/26/2012 12:53:00 PM

One of the best fragrances I have ever smelled. I am so glad I bought this, I was not going to I don't own anything like it and usually stick with fruity florals. The scent reminded me so much of summer I just had to get it and I have no regrets. It smells like coconut suntan lotion in the bottle to me but after I apply it and it absorbs into my skin it becomes something totally different. It still has that coconut smell but it has more to it, I can't describe it but it's amazing and it lasts all day and night on me. Would repurchase forever.

Lipstick -Estee Lauder - Pure Color Crystal Lipstick- Crystal Pink
rated 4 of 5
sterlingK 4/26/2012 12:48:00 PM

Got this in a GWP and I quite like it. I normally stick to nudes and sheer neutrals close to my natural lip colour, this is more pink than I would normally go for. I am very pale and find that anything with even a bit too much colour looks super bright on me, this is noticeably pink but looks quite nice, not over the top at all. Great for daily use. Nice shine as well, lasts about as long as any lipstick on me (which is not very long lol). Would repurchase.

Eye Makeup Remover -Nivea - Express Eye Makeup Remover
rated 4 of 5
sterlingK 4/25/2012 12:25:00 AM

I bought this because I wanted to save some money from buying my usual Clinique eye makeup remover. Price was okay, $10 at Shoppers Drug Mart. This is a duo phase remover, one layer is a pretty bright blue and the other is clear, you need to shake it very well before use. It is less oily than many other eye makeup removers I have purchased but it's also quite effective. I found it actually worked as well if not better than my clinique remover. It does not burn at all, left none of my eyeliner behind and very little oil was left on my skin after use. Would repurchase.

Styling Products -Unlisted Brand - Marc Anthony Moisture Gloss
rated 3 of 5
sterlingK 4/13/2012 2:49:00 PM

I had pretty high hopes are this, in general I like moisturizing hair serums and this one had good reviews. I have very coarse frizzy hair that is damaged, so I was looking for some improvement. First of all I hate the bottle, it's glass, tall and thin, it's just asking to get dropped and broken lol. But I can excuse that if the product works well. The scent is different, almost candy-like but cheap smelling. I liked it at first but quickly got sick of it. The actual product feels different than a normal serum to me, stickier and it really coats and is hard to wash off. I had high hopes that this consistency would help keep frizzies at bay in damp or humid weather. I applied only a small amount (1 to 2 pumps on my long hair) to damp hair working from ends to roots. After a month of use I find that it's too heavy for my hair. It makes it look very stringy, frizz free but it look so weighed down and becomes greasy so quickly. I switched back to my regular serum (john frieda end repair) and my hair immediately felt and looked better. Gave it a 3 as it does get rid of frizz as promised so it works it's just too heavy for me. Would not repurchase.

Conditioner -L'Oreal - Everstrong Reconstruct
rated 4 of 5
sterlingK 3/18/2012 4:24:00 PM

Seemed to work well, leaves my hair soft and detangled (or as detangled as it's going to get lol). I have dry damaged hair and suffer from hair loss. This seemed to reduce hair fall and helped the condition of my hair overall. I liked this more than the everpure moisture line, felt there was less buildup on my scalp with this. As with any product after a few months my hair gets "tired" of it and it stops working well, so I am switching to evercreme for a while but I would go back to this. Great drugstore line.

Shampoo -L'Oreal - Everstrong Reconstruct shampoo
rated 4 of 5
sterlingK 3/18/2012 4:19:00 PM

Worked well for my hair, cleansed without overdrying. Don't care much for the scent but it doesn't linger in my hair so it's not an issue. Preferred this one over the everpure moisture shampoo I was previously using as I felt there was less hair fall with this product (I have issues with hair loss) and slightly less buildup. My hair does tend to get "tired" of a product after a few months of continued use so as it's now been a while I am going to try out the evercreme line, but I would go back to this.

Polishes -China Glaze - Temptation Carnation
rated 4 of 5
sterlingK 3/18/2012 4:03:00 PM

Very sheer light pinky/peach polish with a light shimmer/glitter to it. It is not as glittery as I thought it would be. I think this is a great polish for someone who wants something that is a bit fun but not screaming glitter. This is sheer enough that unless you used a lot of coats you will see your nails through it, I am fine with this and was happy with 2 coats. I will be using this as my wedding day polish and I think it will look great, not too obvious but will give my nails a little something. Would repurchase.

Lotions/ Creams -Burt's Bees - Shea Butter Hand Repair Creme
rated 2 of 5
sterlingK 3/18/2012 3:59:00 PM

Very very thick hand creme, really does have the consistency of a stick of butter. It is difficult to squeeze out of the tube, it takes forever to sink in and doesn't smell great, sort of medically. I can only use this at night because it's too thick for during the day and takes too long to absorb. It doesn't seem to be any better than an average cheaper handcream. Not worth the price for an average product, would not repurchase.

Gels/Soaps -St. Ives - Oatmeal and Shea Butter Body Wash
rated 5 of 5
sterlingK 3/9/2012 3:38:00 PM

On my second bottle of this now, it's amazing. I have such trouble skin, psoriasis, acne and a bit of KP, I'm a mess. This body wash has helped a lot. It's not going to work miracles but it's made a huge difference for me. My skin is much less red and irritated, I am not getting body breakouts, my skin is getting much more clear and soft. The scent is okay, not awful but not my fav, but the product works so well I don't care. I recently started using the matching lotion as well and I will review that after a few weeks. Will repurchase this.

Lotions/ Creams -Unlisted Brand - Ombra - Spa - SOS Hand Care Balm
rated 2 of 5
sterlingK 3/9/2012 3:32:00 PM

Thick cream, took a while to absorb which would be fine with if I was impressed with the results. This worked about as well as any average hand cream or even a plain lotion, nothing special. My problem with it is the scent, I can overlook the scent on a great product but not on something average, it reeks of strong men's cologne to me and the smell does not fade. Does not perform well enough for me to overlook the scent. Will not repurchase.

Polishes -OPI - Hopelessly in Love
rated 2 of 5
sterlingK 2/12/2012 6:08:00 PM

This is a peachy nude that almost matches my skin perfectly. The colour is just off enough to look really weird on me though so I am not a fan (I am very fair). I know some people don't like when muaers give bad reviews based on colour but this review is not for OPI in general it's for this particular shade, so I think colour should be used in part to determine the rating you give. The application is VERY streaky, I could not get it to apply streak free no matter what I tried. The finish is not very shiny so if you are looking for shine you'll need a topcoat. The formula lasts about as long on me as other OPIs, no difference there. Would not repurchase.
