BB Cream -Rimmel - BB Cream Beauty Balm 9 in 1 Skin Perfecting Super Makeup
rated 4 of 5

I was in need of a good affordable BB cream because I'm sick of foundation right now. This one claims to prime, moisturize, minimize pores, mattify, conceal, cover, smooth, brighten, and protect skin with broad spectrum spf 25. The coverage is better than with Garnier and this does set on your skin. So it's not dewy, which helps with lasting power. There isn't any scent at all, and it's dry to the touch but not completely matte. So far I think it's a winner, and less than $8. I bought the shade Light and I'm NW20-25. Very porcelain skin tones probably won't find a match with this BB cream.

Lipstick -Maybelline - Color Whisper
rated 4 of 5

I would have completely ignored these if someone hadn't mentioned they were better than the Loreal Caresse lipsticks and less thick than Revlon Lip Butters. I like the slim tube, scent, color selection, and wear time. These are not meant to wear for longer than 4 hours, but they do keep my lips in good condition. We're in the middle of winter, so all lip products struggle to give enough moisture. I like them and think I will buy a few more.

Lipstick -Rimmel - Lasting Matte Finish by Kate Moss
rated 4 of 5
staciarose22 1/3/2013 9:38:00 PM

These took a few months to get to the US, and I knew I wanted shade 107 because it's so popular in the UK. I found a larger display at Walgreens, but there is also a smaller display which only has 5-6 shades. What's different between these and the original Kate Moss Lasting Finish lipsticks is a matte red tube, the scent is now a melon (or watermelon), and the finish is more of a velvet than completely matte. I chose shades 107 (softer burgundy), and 104 (mid tone mauve pink). They go on very smoothly and I do like the change in scent. These are around $6 or less in most stores, and I think they're very good for the price. The two I bought are pigmented and long lasting, and they somewhat remind me of Burberry Lip Velvet lipsticks.

Moisturizers -Philosophy - Hope in a Jar - for all skin types
rated 2 of 5
staciarose22 12/26/2012 10:56:00 PM

It moisturizes well, as far as I can tell by one use. I used a sample and the texture is a lot like Purity cleanser. It goes on not too thick and seems to absorb, but the smell is beyond anything I can tolerate. Looking over the ingredients, it must be lavender oil. I normally like lavender, but in this it's clashing with a heavy smell that is like spf. Too chemical for me.

Nails -Unlisted Brand - Kiss Nail Dress
rated 1 of 5

I was sent these for free, and right away I had a bad feeling about them. The designs seem tacky, and the smell from the box and stickers is so foul. It's the strongest smelling rubber/plastic. I've used the Sally Hansen version once in the past and they were amazing. They were also easy to use, looked more real, and lasted for weeks and weeks. These are not easy to apply, smell bad, and the back is like a rubber glue that sticks to your bare nails after you remove them. Fitting my nails was not easy, either. I have normal sized healthy nails. I wore these one day before they chipped and tore. If I had paid for these I would be upset.

Lip Gloss -L'Oreal - Colour Caresse Shine Stain / Shine Caresse
rated 4 of 5
staciarose22 12/19/2012 7:53:00 PM

I found these at the last store I went to, and the second Walgreens I stopped at. They were not in a display at all. I found these on the bottom shelf in the plumping gloss section (no idea why), so you might want to look everywhere till you see the gold packaging. I bought Berry Persistent and Endless Red. I just swatched them and they have a very strong stain which is lovely and exactly what I wanted. The lighter shades have a more subtle stain. These are meant to be built up in layers, so you can pick the intensity of color that you want. I paid $10 for each. I don't notice a strong smell, but they have a scent that is slightly different from YSL lipsticks. These are very similar (dupes) to YSL Glossy Stains, only a thinner texture.

Lipstick -Illamasqua - Box (matte)
rated 4 of 5
staciarose22 12/16/2012 4:53:00 AM

Some days this looks better on me than other days. It reminds me of a lot of Russian Red, and I prefer Ruby Woo for it's brightness. I ordered it on Sephora and think next time I will go for a bolder red. This is an elegant and chic red, but for me it needs a bit of a bright true red tone to be stunning or make me stop and look. I need to wear it more to fall in love with the way it looks. I like the packaging and the scent is a lot like MAC.

Polishes -Zoya - Electra
rated 4 of 5

This polish might not be for everyone, but it is very festive for well into the New Year! Electra a full coverage, micro fine diamond holographic glitter mixed with holographic bar tinsel. Since I don't have anything like it I wanted to try it out.

Polishes -Zoya - Aurora
rated 4 of 5

Aurora is from the holiday 2012 Ornate collection, and it's a real stunner. I didn't think much of it until I saw pictures with the flash on in low lighting. Then you could really see the holographic effect. There is so much going on in this color that you just have to see it. "A full coverage, medium sugarplum purple flecked with a high concentration of micro fine diamond holographic glitter. The rainbow holographic sparkle turns this plum purple into something truly captivating."

Lip Treatments -Korres - Lip Butter - Jasmine
rated 3 of 5
staciarose22 12/16/2012 4:17:00 AM

I bought this mainly because I need a lip butter and wanted to try something else from Korres. It smells nice, has a good natural lip tone color, and on the first use it made my lips soft and healthy looking. If it gives long lasting moisture then it's a keeper. A bit expensive, but the ingredients are not cheap. I will update if I change my mind. Update: This is a basic lip butter, but it's not intensive enough for winter and doesn't penetrate lips enough to give moisture. It's just a surface balm. I think what people love the most is the color, scent, and feel of it.

Fragrances -Dolce & Gabbana - Dolce & Gabbana Pour Femme 2012 Release
rated 4 of 5
staciarose22 12/6/2012 3:29:00 AM

I have so many perfumes that I didn't need another one, but this won me over after a few weeks. I completely ignored it as a just another D&G perfume, but gradually it was woven into my subconscious with magazine ad's, commercials, and then by testing it on my wrist. On the way home I got many compliments and men standing very close to me in lines, then my husband said he loved it and that finalized it. I bought the 1.7 oz, the large bottle is usually only for people who consider a perfume their signature scent. A rollerball is on Ulta.com, but not in Sephora. I can only describe this as sensual, sweet, softly floral, and slightly powdery. I don't get any raspberry from it at all, but the top note of neroli is nice. Then a wave of heliotrope, jasmine, and orange blossom, but they're not intense. Marshmallow and vanilla are always there, but never sugary. And the sandalwood is oh so nice. The original is so powerful and 90's, it can knock you down and overwhelm your senses. I love a strong perfume any day, but prefer this newer version. D&G said they were very young when they made the original (and it definitely fits the era), but this is a more modern take.

Lotions/ Creams -Unlisted Brand - AmLactin Moisturizing Body Lotion
rated 5 of 5
staciarose22 11/29/2012 9:40:00 PM

I discovered this brand a few months back when I was preparing for my winter skin care routine. Basic lotions just don't cut it, and in extreme weather you need more than just lotion or cream. This has ingredients and acids in it which help your skin exfoliate and also deeply soften dry skin or dry patches. I bought the lotion because it was a better deal at $23. The body cream is sort of a small tube. If you have very sensitive skin, this can sting a little at first. It's not a reaction and to me it means it's working and the lotion is getting rid of your dry skin issues. Amlactin is the only product I've found that actually works to combat dryness, and the others are only temporary fixes. Amlactin contains a clinically proven alpha-hydroxy acid (AHA), 12% lactic acid. This AHA is ideal for rough, dry skin relief. AmLactin Moisturizing Body Lotion gently exfoliates dead skin cells to help return dry skin to its healthy, natural state. It helps skin lock in and retain moisture through intense hydration. AmLactin Moisturizing Body Lotion Cream Features: Fragrance free Non-greasy Long lasting

Blush -Tarte - Amazonian 12-Hour Clay Blush In Flush
rated 4 of 5
staciarose22 11/28/2012 3:48:00 AM

I never gave a second glance to this shade simply because it is very bright and I wanted to try the other shades first. Now I think the brights are their best shades and the most unique. You can find many other brands with colors like Dollface or Exposed, but Flush is almost never seen (mostly found in a makeup artist brand). The cheek stain is a gorgeous purple berry tone, and I think they've matched that perfectly with the clay version. I bought this in a set of three full size products for $22 at Ulta, and so far I'm very happy with the purchase. As with all of these, you need a very soft taklon bristle brush to get a soft and even application. A dense brush will deposit too much color in one area. I also love the colored compacts. They do come in handy when you're looking for a certain shade. I have very light skin with dark hair and I haven't found this to be too much. While Natural Beauty goes well with red lipsticks, Flush works with all berry and plum toned lipsticks. To me this is a 'must try' considering the current lipstick trend.

Polishes -Zoya - Anaka
rated 4 of 5
staciarose22 11/28/2012 3:17:00 AM

This color is so pretty, most pics don't do it justice. It's a little darker than it appears in pics taken in the sunlight. This is a "vibrant purple-toned deep fuchsia-pink with reflective hot pink shimmer and gold microglitter". The glitter is so smooth that it just adds a depth and sparkle to the color. I am not a pink polish fan, but this is beautiful and really an unexpected color. It grabbed my attention right away among all the other Zoya shades.

Lipstick -Yves Saint Laurent - ROUGE PUR COUTURE SPF15 - Pure Colour Satiny Radiance in #20 Rouge Flamme-Cranberry Red
rated 4 of 5
staciarose22 11/12/2012 4:29:00 AM

I never buy the nudes or pink shades from YSL or other high end brands because you can find those anywhere for a lot cheaper. I always go for berries, brights, and especially reds. Rouge Flamme is described as a cranberry red, which is more unique to me compared to a cherry or tomato red. The color is stunning and gorgeous, and this is the best YSL formula for lipsticks.
