Treatments -Redken - Extreme Anti Snap (new formula 2011)
rated 5 of 5

I swear by this stuff. I used to really need it because my hair was over-dyed hot mess and this was the only thing keeping my hair looking decent. Since that hair low-patch I cut it all off (literally ultra-short pixie) and am now growing out new virgin hair. With the anti-snap I don't have any problems with split ends, which has allowed me to grow my hair (in process) out in less time (fewer trims). This is the only redken product I use and the only hair product I am truly loyal to.

Eye Shadow -E.L.F. - Studio Cream Shadow in Dawn
rated 1 of 5

I don't know what everyone is raving about with this product. I could barely get it out of the container and when I did it felt like I was applying a clay-like substance to my eye-lids! Complete waste of $3.

Cleansers -LUSH - Dark Angels
rated 5 of 5
sayshal 6/7/2012 4:59:00 PM

I've been using this cleanser for several years now and it is my HG cleanser. It cleans and smooths my skin without drying and greatly reduces the amount of acne on my face when used regularly (morning and night). For me this worked better than herbalism, but for those who found this too harsh, herbalism or possibly angels on bare skin might be better for your skin types. For me those cleaned well, but didn't help with the acne. I've also tried coalface, which for me was too drying and not exfoliating enough for me. The only qualm I have with this product is that it is very messy to use. In order to overcome this I tend to use it in the shower. It does NOT remove makeup! You have to use a makeup remover or makeup removing cleanser before using this!

Treatments -LUSH - Grease Lightning Spot Cleanser
rated 5 of 5
sayshal 6/7/2012 4:55:00 PM

This is the only spot treatment that works for and DOESN'T smell like rotten eggs (sulpher treatments). I use this as a spot treatment for prevention as well as for treatment. I just dab into onto problem spots after I wash my face with dark angels in the morning and at night. It works to keep all but the most severe acne at bay. I love this product and recommend it to all of my friends.

Lips -Tarte - Lipsurgence Natural Lip Tint in Peaceful
rated 2 of 5
sayshal 6/7/2012 4:50:00 PM

I really like this product! The color peaceful is very natural and it is quite moisturizing. Its staining ability is non-existent, it is very moisturizing however and the nude-ish color is very pretty. I was going to purchase in other colors, but after only having it about 2 weeks the tip broke off and now its a little difficult to use. I wish it came in a more lipstick like tube to limit breakage! =( Great product, bad packaging. EDIT - I've had the product for a couple of months now and the twisty thing that is supposed to allow me to use the remaining product has broken, leaving me with a stick full of usable product that is inaccessible by several inches. For $24.00 this is completely unacceptable. I would have used this down to the nub if I could and possibly repurchased, now... well that's not really an option.

Mascara -Cover Girl - Lash Blast Volume
rated 2 of 5
sayshal 5/30/2012 12:47:00 PM

This mascara separates well and gives you voluminous lashes, however it sheds like a beast! A couple hours later if I'm lucky my mascara has simply vanished, if I'm not its all over my cheeks and as lovely as little black mascara clumps are for a complexion it doesn't make me happy.

Lips -Urban Decay - Lip Stain- Envious
rated 2 of 5
sayshal 5/30/2012 12:33:00 PM

I have a love-hate relationship with this lipstain. It is the best lipstain I have found... it has great staying power... but it goes on unevenly. I've tried exfoliating lips before, moisturizing, not doing anything, layering it, nothing makes it go on evenly. This generally means I have to wear a lipstick over it to make it not look like I have splotchy fuchsia mouth... However I love this lipstain because the color is gorgeous. In other words I've had this product for 6 months now and I still can't decide whether or not I like it or not. I don't find it drying. It's just not that great. The search for the perfect stain continues.

Concealers -Tarte - Dark Circle Defense Under Eye Corrector ] [DISCONTINUED]
rated 5 of 5
sayshal 5/30/2012 1:55:00 AM

This product is great for dark circles and I use it almost every day. It helps me combat my naturally dark under-eye area that only gets worse due to my insomniatic tendencies. I don't know if this is the best product out there for dark circles and it is pretty expensive, but it works pretty well for me and it doesn't make me break out. I really don't have any qualms with this product. I generally use it under my BB cream. REALLY SAD THAT THIS IS DISCONTINUED... Still have most of the container and I've been using it everyday for about three months now. Need to find a new under-eye concealer/treatment... =(

Eyes -E.L.F. - Eyeliner & Shadow Stick
rated 4 of 5
sayshal 5/29/2012 12:50:00 AM

I bought this not realizing this was an eyeliner and a cream shadow. I bought it for the eyeliner which goes on smooth and looks fantastic. Since I got it in black/smoke I don't find the shadow to be overly useful since its such a dark color, but it has a nice consistency and its a good base for a smoky eye. I like the consistency enough that I'm debating grabbing this in a few more colors. Great product and the price can't be beat! --Tried to do a smoky eye with it and found that this eyeliner oddly has fallout (without primer) when you try to blend with a brush. Still a great product, but I'm knocking off a star.

Mascara -Maybelline - Volum Express The Falsies Flared
rated 2 of 5
sayshal 5/27/2012 12:13:00 AM

I accidentally bought this thinking I was purchasing the original falsies mascara, not the flared. This mascara does make it look like I am wearing "false lashes", but I already have long lashes so most mascara is over the top. It also clumps really badly. Its not the worst, but its certainly not the best. For the price, 8 dollars, its okay, but I still feel like it was a waste of money for a mediocre product.

Highlighters -E.L.F. - Shimmering Facial Whip in Lilac Petal
rated 5 of 5
sayshal 5/25/2012 5:25:00 PM

I picked this up at target since it was only a dollar. It works great as a highlighter. I put a little on my cheekbones and under the brow bone and it just takes my basic daily makeup to next level. For a dollar this is fantastic. I've used other cream highlighters before that were a lot more expensive and there isn't a difference in quality between this one at a dollar, and others at $15 +. This product also does not make me break out.

Lipstick -Clinique - Almost Lipstick - Black Honey
rated 5 of 5
sayshal 5/20/2012 6:24:00 PM

Love this "lipstick". Feels more like a lip balm, but the color is gorgeous on. My lips are naturally coral looking and the the black honey darkens and reddens them enough to make my lips really pop. I personally think this lipstick has pretty good staying power, about 2 hours? I also found the product to be moisturizing.

BB Cream -Skin79 - Vital BB Cream SPF50++ Hot Orange Label
rated 4 of 5
sayshal 5/20/2012 9:47:00 AM

I received this product a little over a week ago from the Amazon seller Soul Glamour. Definitely recommend the seller. I have fairly normal skin that is prone to breakouts around the chin and mouth. I purchased the pink and orange label to compare and found this one to be far superior for my skin. The pink label doesn't provide as much moisture or coverage and is a little more difficult to apply. I only need about half a pump of the BB cream to cover my entire face and the product acts as my moisturizer, foundation and sunscreen. This product doesn't make me breakout but unfortunately its about two shades too pale for my NC20 skin.

Blush -Pixi - Cheek Gel Blush
rated 5 of 5
sayshal 5/20/2012 9:42:00 AM

I recently picked this product up in the shade rosy from my local target. It looks very natural on and the color is very sheer, but build-able. I have very pale olive skin and found the shade natural did not look like blush on my skin, and found the flushed to be too much of a berry color for summer. This has become my go to blush because it looks very natural on the apples of the cheeks. I also love how the colors have no shimmer or sparkle in them. Great buy, worth the $18 considering the fact that most other gel blushes are upwards of $25 each.
