Lip Gloss -E.L.F. - Luscious Liquid Lipstick in Brownie Points
rock_chica81 7/18/2010 11:48:00 AM
This has to be one of my fave lip glosses right now. It's a pretty brownish pink color with a slight shimmer. I love that the consistency isn't too thick and goopy. But because it is on the thinner side, it doesn't have long staying power. There's no weird smell or taste and I like the applicator. For $1, this lip gloss can't be beat. I actually like it better than lipglosses that I've paid way more for. Will repurchase.

Eye Shadow -Urban Decay - Naked Palette
rock_chica81 7/14/2010 9:49:00 PM
This is probably the most useful palette I have ever bought. I love that it contains a little of everything. Light to dark colors, matte to shimmery. I've worn this palette everyday for the past week. I've done the more matte lighter eye for work and over the weekend I did bronzey smokey eyes. It's a very versatile palette. BTW, I'm an NC35ish and have found all the shades to be very wearable. I also found the eyeshadows to be very pigmented and blendable. I love the dual ended eyeliners which really do last all day. On the negative side, I did experience some fallout with certain shades especially Sidecar. Looked like I had sprinkled silver glitter all over my cheekbones. Needless to say, I had to wipe this off and start over. Also, I forgot to use the primer potion one day and found the eyeshadows to crease badly and fade throughout the day. So for me, using the primer is a must. I usually use primer anyway so this isn't a big deal for me. Overall, it really is a fantastic neutral palette and the price can't be beat for what you get. Will most likely buy a back up as soon as it's in stock again.

Mascara -Revlon - Revlon Grow Luscious Mascara
rock_chica81 7/2/2010 12:40:00 PM
I LOVE this mascara! I've been using this for a few months now and love it. I have really straight short lashes and this makes them look dark, full and long. It also holds a curl really well and I haven't had any problems with flaking or smudging. I love building it up for a really dramatic look and it doesn't leave you with clumpy spider lashes. The only thing I don't like is that the brush is a little too big and I sometimes end up with mascara on my eye lids. After I ran out of this, I decided to try Maybelline the Falsies just because I like trying new products. I found that mascara to be horrible and ended up just buying another tube of Revlon. Finally, a Revlon mascara that I like.

Liquid -Maybelline - Instant Age Rewind Eraser Treatment Makeup
rock_chica81 6/22/2010 5:57:00 PM
My mom uses this and her skin looks amazing so I had to give it a try. I'm an NC30ish and bought this in Nude. It's a pretty good color match since it's yellow toned. I haven't bothered using the applicator since I prefer using a brush or my fingers to blend. The formula is really silky like there's a built in primer. It really just glides on. I found the coverage to be on the light side since it didn't cover a red blemish that I had. I liked that it didn't accentuate my pores or any fine lines. The finish is slightly dewey which I like. It also didn't cause any breakouts which is a big plus for me since so many foundations cause me to breakout instantaneously. On the negative side, it does make me a bit oily so this would better on dry skin than oily/combo skin. And it seemed to wear off throughout the day. But overall, a decent drugstore foundation. Not sure if I would repurchase only because I get bored easily and am always on the lookout for the next new thing.

Mascara -Maybelline - Volum' Express The Falsies
rock_chica81 6/22/2010 5:35:00 PM
I was really hoping this mascara would live up to its name. Unfortunately for me, it didn't. The formula is really wet and the brush is a bit awkward. No biggie. But, I had to really layer this on to get any kind of volume. In doing so, it weighed down my lashes and killed my curl. I didn't get much length either. Towards the end of the day, it began to flake and irritate my eyes. On the plus side, blackest black is truly dark and this mascara didn't give me racoon eyes. But my cons outweigh my pros so I will not be repurchasing. I've read that it works well with a primer underneath but I just don't have time for that extra step.

Brows -Bare Escentuals - Eye Brow powder
rock_chica81 3/23/2010 12:18:00 AM
I love this powder! I have this in dark blonde/med brown and it is the perfect color! I have dark brown hair but I decided against the brunette shade since it looked too dark. I'm loving the med brown shade. No red/orange tones at all. It's also very natural looking unlike the drawn in look that pencil can give. Plus it's pretty long wearing. Needed just a minor touch up after lasting 7 hrs in the heat. Lots of product for $11. I'm not a fan of BE but this is an absolute winner in my book. Will repurchase whenever I run out.

Blush -NARS - Lovejoy
rock_chica81 3/5/2010 4:43:00 PM
I'm kind of on the fence about Lovejoy. It's a pretty rosy bronze color with little gold shimmer. Very pigmented. The packaging got scuffed first day in my make up bag. As for the blush, I agree that its all about application. Too much and I look sunburned. My husband asked if I had a fever the first time I used this. But even with a light hand, this didn't give me that rosy glow that I was looking for. It made me looked flush as though I had just finished exercising and that's not really the look I like. I guess it pulled more red on me than rose. So if you're looking for that natural believeable blush then this is it. I've started using Benefit Dallas again but I'm going to keep lovejoy around for the summer. Hopefully I'll like it better once my NC30ish skin warms up a bit.

Lip Gloss -Cover Girl - Shineblast
rock_chica81 3/5/2010 4:33:00 PM
I was really disappointed by this gloss. I bought Gleam which I thought would be a nice bright coral color. As soon as I got in my car, I slicked it on hoping for pretty bright glossy lips. Nope. My lips were glossy but there was close to zero pigmentation. It also did not last long. On the plus side, I liked that the consistency was a bit thin since I hate thick sticky glosses. But this is also why it doesn't stay on long. It did leave my lips really glossy after a couple layers but it the shine wore off quick. I like the applicator, the smell, and that there's no annoying taste. But, overall, it was just a waste of my $7.

Mascara -Maybelline - Great Lash BIG
rock_chica81 8/14/2009 7:21:00 PM
I actually like this mascara. I've tried the original numerous times over the past 15 years and I was never a fan mostly because I felt the brush didn't separate my lashes at all. It always left me with clumped together lashes. Now this one, on the otherhand, has a big straight brush with lots of bristles.Did a really good job of separating my lashes. No clumps and no flaking. Builds okay length and volume. This is the mascara I use when I really just want to define my lashes a bit. So, if you're looking for this to give you thick, long lashes then you'll be really disappointed. But if you want dark defined lashes then you can't beat this for around $4.

Lip Gloss -MAC - Lustreglass in Love Nectar
rock_chica81 7/18/2009 11:20:00 AM
This is a really pretty lip gloss. I've been eyeing for awhile and finally decided to give it a try. I'm so glad I did because I love it. The other reviewers have described it well as a peachy pink color with gold flecks. I find it a little thick but it has great staying power. I agree that it could go with any makeup look. I'm NC30 and think this color would be beautiful on pretty much all skin tones.

Concealers -Maybelline - Mineral Power Natural Perfecting Concealer
rock_chica81 7/4/2009 4:43:00 PM
I love this concealer for my under eye circles! My circles aren't very dark but this does a great job of covering and brightening the under eye area. It's very blendable and smooth. Doesn't cake or settle into fine lines. Love the color match and the price. Will repurchase.

Liquid -Make Up For Ever - Face & Body Foundation
rock_chica81 6/27/2009 5:02:00 PM
I love this foundation. I'm NC30 and have this in 32 Alabaster Beige. Pros: light coverage, feels like you have nothing on, pretty glowy finish, hasn't clogged pores or caused breakouts, coverage is buildable. Cons: Wish it had a pump dispenser, weird plasticky smell, doesn't last all day on me, kind of on the expensive side. Overall, it's a really nice light sheer foundation that I will continue to buy because it's never caused a breakout and because it looks so natural. Love it.

Mascara -Maybelline - Pulse Perfection™ by Define-A-Lash® Vibrating Mascara ] ] [DISCONTINUED]
rock_chica81 6/5/2009 8:08:00 PM
I do agree with the reviewer below about the button being in an awkward place and I also didn't like having to hold it down while applying. It did a god job of seperating my lashes and it added good length and volume. Although I didn't notice any smudging, it flaked horribly throughout the day. I definitely won't repurchase.

Concealers -LORAC - Double Feature concealer/highlighter
rock_chica81 5/19/2009 6:49:00 PM
I really like this concealer. I've been able to use it under my eyes without any cakiness and as a spot concealer. Very natural looking. It's also buildable where you need more coverage. I absolutely love the highlighter. I've been using it on my cheekbones and browbone. It gives a pretty golden glow. Looks like the product will last forever but if I ever run out, I'd repurchase. For reference, I'm an NC30 and have this in Medium.

Liquid -Bobbi Brown - Skin Foundation SPF 15
rock_chica81 5/14/2009 2:18:00 PM
I've been wearing this for awhile and think this is a good product. First of all, I like the pump packaging. The foundation is very thin and almost watery. I found it very easy to blend and it felt very lightweight. It leaves your face with a natural finish, not too dewy but not matte. I would say the coverage is on the sheer side also. It evened out my skin tone and concealed the redness in my cheeks but it definitely did not conceal any red blemishes. The good thing is that this foundation can be built up. I personally just went over those spots with a concealer. It pretty much stayed put throughout the day without oxidizing or feeling heavy. What I love the most is the color match. I've always found other brands to be too peach or pink and MAC is too yellow. BB warm beige is absolutely perfect. Looks like I'm not wearing foundation at all. Also, this has not clogged my pores or caused any breakouts. Now the cons, I guess I'd like it to have better coverage especially for how pricey it is. Also, it does get a bit oily throughout the day. I find myself having to reach for my blotters midday. It also accentuates any dry patches but I've found all foundations to do the same. Overall, I do think this is a really nice foundation for normal to dry skin that doesn't require alot of coverage. The only reason I might not repurchase is the price. I'm not wowed enough to shell out another $50. We'll see..... **Edit: Purchased MUFE F&B and am loving it more than BB especially during the summer months. Saving BB for the colder months when my skin will appreciate the extra moisture this gives.
