Fragrances -Ralph Lauren - Romance
raggie92 9/18/2012 5:19:00 AM
I got a sample of this EDP and woah, I never hated a fragrance so much. This is way too old for my liking and it is so strong that it give me itches which is like a miss for me. I never really wore this after one try, and tried spritzing in the air just to get a relative idea on why I hated it. One whiff, and I know my nose couldn't take it because it's really overwhelming and sharp. Definitely not purchasing it.

Fragrances -Salvatore Ferragamo - Incanto Bloom
raggie92 9/18/2012 5:15:00 AM
I do own this in the miniature form, and this lasts me really well. I don't wear this very often because it is more of a full-on floral scent which can be very overwhelming. I apply very little on and still last me quite well. I can definitely pick up the soapy freesia and light hints of the rose scent. Due to it's a full-on floral fragrance, it is very appropriate daytime scent to wear and it dries down to a lighter scent which is quite sweet too. I do think this fragrance is more appropriate around the springtime compared to other seasons. I will repurchase once I'm out of the miniature but I still find that it's one scent that I don't find myself picking up very often.

Fragrances -Elizabeth Arden - Taylor Swift Wonderstruck
raggie92 9/18/2012 5:09:00 AM
I recently received a sample of the EDT from the SG's version of a Birchbox(?) called Bellabox and they included a sample for it for subscribers to try. I was keen to try out this because I like Taylor Swift's voice and some of her songs. So I gave it a try for two days just to see how it works with my body chemistry, and I noticed that it is quite lovely and a really sweet scent. Much sweeter than my favorite fragrance, Marc Jacobs Daisy which I generally don't mind but this means you can't overdo it. I would say this is a appropriate perfume for my age range since I'm going towards 20 and it's a very youthful scent. The first smell I noticed was vanilla and all I could smell throughout the time I wore it was mainly vanilla and light hints of peach and musk as well. I love the sweet vanilla scent in this which makes me wanna purchase the perfume in the larger bottle when I'm out of the sample. Lasting power is okay, I guess. I stopped smelling the vanilla after about 7 hours of wear which is quite amazing. So this is a definite repurchase.

Fragrances -Marc Jacobs - Daisy
raggie92 9/18/2012 4:57:00 AM
THIS IS MY SCENT. I never loved a fragrance until I smelled Daisy when I bought its miniature to try. I was really keen on the Eau so Fresh version because of its crisp fresh scent but Daisy just worked with my body chemistry better. It lasts so well on me because after about 4-5 hours, it's still there which not many perfumes could stay on my skin. I do find that it can be overwhelming if overdone with too many sprays. First sprayed on, you smell the fresh crisp scent like freshly cut grass but a tad sweeter. Then the drydown is more musky which is something I like, but it's not overly musky that it's overpowering. It is very fresh and very appropriate for daytime use. Perfect for spring/summer time but I love to use this year-round.

Concealers -MAC - Pro Longwear concealer
raggie92 9/18/2012 4:41:00 AM
This is a creamy concealer that has a medium to full coverage with amazing lasting power. I wouldn't say it's HG concealer because I don't use concealers on a regular basis unless on days when I wear just concealer and powder foundation. One tiny bottle of this last me really well throughout my routine. I have this for about 8 months I think, and I only used up half the bottle. I find that I don't need too much product to cover up all my imperfections because I don't really have much of acne scarring. This does cover beautifully especially for those ladies with hyperpigmentation because of the full coverage it offers. I am still working on how to work with the pump because one full pump is way too much product at times. I pump it on the back of my hand, use my ecotools concealer brush to apply it under my eyes first and use my fingers to pat the concealer in order to blend it out which gives me better and natural coverage because the warmth from the fingers will melt the product a little more. It applies on smoothly and does not settle into fine lines like some people commented. (You don't need too much under your eyes anyway) Then I just used the remaining around the redness on my face and blend it out the same way. The price is somewhat a turn-off for a concealer but then it gives me such good coverage and amazing lasting power that I don't mind repurchasing again for $30 SGD.

Eye Primer -Unlisted Brand - LA Splash - Splash Proof Sealer / Base (for glitter or shimmer)
raggie92 8/30/2012 9:42:00 AM
Ok, it's a little off because I only got this product in less than a day but...a day is good enough to prove the primer is a yay or nay. And luckily, this is a yay. I wouldn't rate it five lippies just because it's not meant for everyday usage. It is a very heavy duty eye primer, and meant for glitter/loose pigments due to the super adhesive texture after applying on the lids. The drydown isn't exactly comfortable as you can feel the tack of the primer but it's good if I dust a small amount of loose powder on top of it when I just want to use this to hold my eyeliner. This is definitely much more heavy duty compared to the UDPP which does hold my make up quite well but this really does hold the eye makeup and keeping it extremely fresh after hours. My eyeliner stayed intact for hours upon applying it which is like one of the biggest perks for me. Due to the adhesive texture, it is not recommended to use this everyday as it would definitely damage your lids somehow...Another reason for not giving 5 lippies is because it is so much tackier than the UDPP, this makes it really hard to blend eyeshadows upon application. However, I really don't mind making this a HG in my collection because it's so good. Of course I love my UDPP, but this is way better when I need something really powerful to hold on and the price is a definite plus compared to buying UDPP regularly. While it is a milky-yellowish-white product in the tube, it applies on clear and dries quite fast, leaving a layer of tack for you to work on your glitter or loose pigments. LA Splash sells a lot of loose pigments, so this is definitely used to pair with it to make the pigments pop. Definitely repurchase for sure but I will also stick to my UDPP to alternate around my primers.

Eye Primer -Urban Decay - Eyeshadow Primer Potion - Original (UDPP)
raggie92 8/29/2012 6:48:00 AM
This makes my eye makeup lasts long and fresh. I don't have extremely oily lids but I want my eyeliners to be staying on really long and this does it. However, I must rotate it out between my primers so it would remain potent because using this for a week straight just weakens its strength to hold my eyeliners. Vibrant eyemakeup? I don't really see a huge change in comparison to homemade eye primer and the ELF mineral eyeshadow primer but longevity is really there. I smear this on my eyebrows too just to make my brow pencil last throughout the day because it fades really quickly. I would definitely repurchase this because it's really quite good and the squeeze tube makes it really convenient. However, I am rather put off by the price but I am paying for a HE product which provides quality so I don't really mind.

Eyeliner -Unlisted Brand - K-Palette - 24 Hr Real Lasting Eyeliner
raggie92 8/29/2012 6:25:00 AM
Not a fantastic product, as it is only like 60% waterproof and 80% smudgeproof. It's either I got a defect or it's really like this. While this can last throughout a long day without me rubbing my eyes, I still prefer my gel liners over this because it really lasts and doesn't smudge off or flake off. I need to set this with an eyeshadow for it to last without flaking off on its own. This don't even last over UDPP which is very frustrating when I really want it to work. I wear this for school now because my school days are short and this defines my eyes quite nicely. I just don't really like the lasting power even when I believe I don't have oily lids.

Shampoo -Organix - Rejuvenating Cherry Blossom Ginseng Shampoo
raggie92 8/28/2012 10:42:00 AM
Favorite shampoo! This is the bomb! I received a travel size sample set of this shampoo and conditioner and gave it a try. This cleanses my scalp quite well, so I always use it with the conditioner. I don't use this everyday because it can be quite drying and use it during the days I wanna doll up the next day for my hair to be softer and smoother. Use it with the conditioner to get better results because it really just makes my oily scalp clean and my hair lightweight. I also find my hair to air dry a whole lot faster with this shampoo/conditioner combo and tangles are a lot lesser too. Definitely recommend but this is not for daily uses.

Lip Treatments -Nivea - soothing care lip care
raggie92 8/28/2012 7:47:00 AM
Not the best lip balm but works to moisturise my lips during the night and before make-up. While I generally preferred my Carmex lipbalm, this lipbalm is a great alternative to use because it is easier to get this in Singapore, due to Carmex is not available here. I generally prefer it over those local brands because it actually does moisturise my lips and soften it while the others just forces me to constantly reapply it after a few seconds. It does not have a waxy texture and seems to just melt onto my lips as I swipe on my lips.

Scrubs -Unlisted Brand - Sugar
raggie92 8/28/2012 7:38:00 AM
Definite lifesaver for my skin! While some people find it overly-abrasive for the face, but I find it just right. I usually mix it with a clay mask like my Freeman's Lemon & Mint clay mask as an exfoliating mask, and leave it on for a minute or two to cleanse the pores and exfoliate(of course) then rinse off with warm or cold water. This makes my skin really smooth and clear which makes it really easy for skincare and foundation to glide on. As it has an overly-abrasive texture for the face, I don't use it everyday. Usually twice or thrice a week for me because of my oily skin to smooth out my skin, would do the trick. I prefer sugar over those terrible micro-beads scrubs is because those micro-beads scrubs basically do nothing for my skin. I do recommend it, but don't use it everyday because it damages the skin's natural texture as well. While it is alright to use sugar on its own, I prefer using a mixing agent such as the clay mask as stated to make it less harsh and have skin-cleansing benefits.

BB Cream -Skin79 - Super+ BB Cream Gold Label
raggie92 6/14/2012 10:33:00 PM
Well, let's start off with this BB cream is really meant for dry skin users, because of the sweet almond oil content. I don't really mind it, despite I have oily skin. And BB creams go by the motto of less is more. You need the smallest amount you expect because this product is REALLY thick. Key is to blend away and I do think BB creams are best applied with fingers. This may make my NC35 skin look a little ashy at first, but slowly it adjusts to slightly lighter than my own skintone which I don't really mind because it makes my skin looks brighter. And because of the sweet almond oil content, I definitely have to set it with powder and blot if not my face will be super oily and the make-up won't even last. This don't last really long on my face but I'm fine if it last for 4 hours. I have found this on Gmarket(Korean's EBAY) which is authentic so I'm cool with the pricing because the retail price for this in local drugstores are just exorbitant. I usually wear this to school because it's just the fastest way to get my face done, and protected with some sunscreen. The 15g bottle has lasted me for 6 months already and still have a quarter of a bottle remaining. Will definitely repurchase, and I will try the pink label one too since it's actually meant for oily skin.

Makeup Brushes -Ecotools - Bamboo Angled Eyeliner Brush
raggie92 6/13/2012 11:33:00 AM
I don't usually like such angled liner brush because it takes a lot of effort to master the right angle to get the thinner lines. This brush is good for drawing out cat eye liners or defining your brows. At first, I didn't really like it as a liner brush for my eyes because I couldn't get the lines right. Then I used it for my brows, and loved it. Slowly, I practiced using this brush for eyeliner again, and was rather fond of the thicker liner looks. It is a rather skinny brush for a liner brush, but I think it's for creating thinner liners.Anyway, definitely repurchasing one for my brows!

Eyeliner -NYX - Slim Eye Pencil
raggie92 6/13/2012 11:28:00 AM
I have this in White, I like how I can use it to brighten up my lids as a base but mainly using it for my waterline. I know it don't really last but I don't mind touching up my waterline because this is rather opaque! Definitely repurchasing when I'm done because I like how it just brightens my eye looks!

Makeup Brushes -Real Techniques by Samantha Chapman - Brush Collection Core Collection
raggie92 6/13/2012 11:25:00 AM
This brush set is really a good investment if you want multiple brushes to work on different ways of application and get customised coverage. Here's a little breakdown of what I think about each brush: Buffing brush: Definitely the star of this brush set! Provides airbrushed and flawless finish for foundation. I actually prefer to stipple my foundation on with this brush instead of buffing it. I feel that stippling it on with this brush would spread the product more evenly then lightly buff it to blend. And it's really easy to clean. Contour brush: Also another favorite of mine. I guess you can use this for foundation and application of base products. I use what it's meant for, contouring and some light blushing. I usually sweep on matte contouring powder along my hollows with this brush everyday, and a light touch of blush with the same brush. It blends the powders seamlessly and beautifully. Perhaps I will try this brush out with foundation application Pointed Foundation Brush: I know everyone hates this brush, but I don't really mind the size because I have an idea on how to work on it. No, I don't use it to apply full face foundation because the brush size is ridiculously small to cover my face. I prefer my Essence of Beauty foundation brush for that. I use this brush mainly to build on coverage on the spots that the regular buffing brush misses, or for spot treating areas that need coverage. I also use this brush to blend out concealers because it is just slightly bigger than the regular concealer brushes so making it effortless to blend. Detailer brush: The more versatile brush in this set. I don't really use it because I rarely use lip brushes or to use it as a concealer brush. I prefer my Ecotools concealer brush to apply concealer, but for really tiny spots, I will use this that the regular concealer brush misses. This brush is much better for defining your lips and applying lip products. Overall, I like the brush set but not gonna repurchase because I think this is enough. Unless the brushes wear out.
