Fragrances -Mary Kate and Ashley - coast-to-coast NYC
princesswendy85 2/5/2006 11:54:00 AM
This perfume doesn't have an overpowering or nasty scent, but it does have a little bit of a "cheap perfume" undertone to it. It is a nonoffensive scent though, so it is work and school safe. I can't describe the scent, but I think it's nice. It may be more of a scent for teens, though. The packaging is nice and the bottle is cute. I received this as a swap, but from what I have been reading, it is very reasonably priced. Try it out next time you're in the store.

Fragrances -Bath and Body Works - Cherry Blossom Shimmer Mist
princesswendy85 2/5/2006 11:48:00 AM
I tried this in Brown Sugar Fig, which is an alright scent. The shimmer mist itself does leave a little shimmer on the skin. Since it's not too glittery, people who don't want to look like an over-the-top drag queen will be satisfied, but people who want shimmer will be satisfied. And at $14 each, these things will probably last very long. I've used my bottle several times, and it looks untouched. The scent holds up rather well too. One complaint that I have is that sometimes the scents don't match the lotion so well. The Black Raspberry Vanilla smelled repulsive to me, but I like the lotion in that scent. Another complaint is the glass bottle. I don't like products to be in glass bottles, because that makes them subject to breaking and difficult to travel with. Personally, I don't know if I would buy this again, but I would accept it as a gift.

Tinted Moisturizer -Wet 'n' Wild - Ultimate Sheer Tinted Moisturizer in Nude
princesswendy85 2/5/2006 11:39:00 AM
Wow. This is one of the best foundations I have ever used. The price is very low, but there is a lot of bang for your buck. It is mousturizing, and does its job as a foundation at the same time. It can easily be used for every season of the year - it doesn't melt off in summer, and it moisturizes in winter. It even has SPF 15. My only complaint is the packaging. It comes with one of those twist-off caps, and sometimes when I open it, foundation oozes out. That's a little annoying, but I will still keep buying and using this product.

Gels/Soaps -Bath and Body Works - Shower Gels
princesswendy85 2/5/2006 3:09:00 AM
The scents are great, and the packaging is perfect. They are leak-proof, so they're ideal for traveling. The lather is nice. My only complaint is the price. Basically, it's an over-priced average shower gel. It's nice, but not good enough to be $9. The scents don't linger for long, and I didn't notice anything special happening to my skin while using. To me, the shower gels aren't any better than drugstore body washes. My aunt, on the other hand, claims that BBW's shower gel works wonders on her skin. She says that it helps with wrinkles and dry skin, and is the only shower gel that has ever been a perfect match for her. My advice - gladly accept these as gifts and buy them on sale.

Fragrances -Unlisted Brand - Lemon Bay Soap - Body Sprays (Various)
princesswendy85 2/5/2006 3:01:00 AM
I have ordered many sample scents in the spray, and most of them are wonderful. My favorite so far was called "Coco Banana." It sprays on as a juicy banana, and dries down as a super sweet, non-artificial coconut. Y.U.M.M.Y. These sprays have extraordinary lasting power - I sprayed some on my shirt yesterday morning to try the scent out, and I can still smell it. People around you will be able to smell the spray without being overpowered. Take advantage of the sample packs and find the scent that's right for you. Lemon Bay has many scent dupes, and many of them are exactly spot-on. Overall, this e-tailer has very reasonable prices for good products and good quantities. My only complaint is that one time I bought a scrub, and it wasn't leak-proof when I got it. There was oil all over everything. The products made up for it, though.

Lotions/ Creams -Bath and Body Works - Anti-Bacterial Hand Lotion- Country Apple
princesswendy85 2/5/2006 2:49:00 AM
The Country Apple scent is spectacular. I only know a few people who don't like it. The anti-bacterial hand lotions in general are a nice buy. They often go on sale, which is a plus. They make hands soft and kill germs at the same time, so they're very handy to carry around in a purse or lunchbox. I say they're a must-have, especially since they come in various yummy scents. I will definitely keep buying these, especially in Country Apple.

Lotions/ Creams -Bath and Body Works - Body Cream - Night Blooming Jasmine
princesswendy85 2/5/2006 2:40:00 AM
This is one of the first BBW products that I ever tried, and it still one of my classic favorites. This was my first bottle from BBW. It is a subtle floral, so I think even people who are not into floral scents could appreciate it. Once again, the lotion is not very good for winters and very dry skin, so go for the cream if needed. The lotion is good for maintaining already healthy skin and those who like to smell good without being overpowering. Fans of this scent will be sad to know that this scent is being discontinued, but will rejoice at the fact that it shows up half off at semi-annual sales. I will stock up at the next sale, because this lotion also has a very long shelf life.

Lotions/ Creams -Bath and Body Works - Breathe Daily Vitamin Body Lotion - Romance scent
princesswendy85 2/5/2006 2:31:00 AM
I already ranted on this one in my "Calm" scent review, but I cannot stress it enough... YUCK! True story: I put some of this on my hand when the stores were advertising this line, and it was one of the biggest mistakes of my life. It was a long car ride home, and my stomach was literally spinning around like a champion figure skater. If anything, this "romantic" scent will prevent any romance from ocurring. If this scent is your cup of tea, then by all means, indulge. Otherwise, get as far away from this as possible. I can't really remember what this smells like since I only smelled it once, but it still haunts me to this day.

Lotions/ Creams -Bath and Body Works - Frozen Daiquiri Body Lotion
princesswendy85 2/5/2006 2:26:00 AM
I love the Summer Cocktail scents of 2005. Apple Martini (a tart green apple, almost "boozy") is one of my all-time faves, and Tropical Colada is an awesome take on classic Pina Colada. Strawberry Daiquiri (a sweet strawberry) smells like a piece of heaven in the bottle, but can turn on some. Some people complained that it smelled plasticky on their skin. I, sadly, am one of those people. That's most unfortunate since this is a great scent. I even found the lotions in this line to be more moisturizing than BBW's regular lotions. Heck, even the bright colors are wonderful. And the price is very reasonable - $10 for 10 oz. The packaging is nice and easy, making these scents perfect for traveling. Be cheesy and take one of them with you on a tropical vacation! I highly recommend looking for these items as swaps or on eBay. If you see one at any semi-annual sales, then I say try it. Even if you don't like them, there surely are many people out there who would swap generously for them.

Lotions/ Creams -Bath and Body Works - Breathe Daily Vitamin Body Lotion - Calm scent
princesswendy85 2/5/2006 2:16:00 AM
OK, I will make this short and sweet. The scents in BREATHE make me utterly sick to my stomach. Calm and Romance literally make me feel like I'm going to get sick and lose my lunch. I put some Romance on my hand when they were advertising this line, and I really regretted it. Just recalling it now is making me sad. My advice: get as far away from this line as possible. I don't know how else to say it.

Lotions/ Creams -Bath and Body Works - Peony
princesswendy85 2/5/2006 2:12:00 AM
At first, this scent grossed me out. I bought a bottle for my dear mother, and would cringe whenever she wore it. Then suddenly, I was a huge fan of the scent. Now it's one of my most wanted scents for spring time. It's not for people who dislike floral scents, that's for sure. It's not one of those "grandma" scents either. The price is a little high, but Bath and Body Works often has good sales and coupons that more than make up for it. One downfall is that this lotion would probably do nothing for people who have extremely dry skin, especially if it needs a serious remedy. This lotion is better for maintaining skin, or for those who like to smell nice. For harsh winters and very dry skin, try the body cream at Bath and Body Works. The best thing about this lotion is the shelf life. Some people have lotions from BBW that are several years old, and they still smell great and do their job. For this reason, it's not so bad to stock up on retired or soon-to-be retired scents. To me, this is great since I am not capable of using a ton of lotion at once. Everyone should try BBW's classic lotion at some time. Oh, and Peony is great too.

Lotions/ Creams -Bath and Body Works - Red Currant and Thyme Tea body lotion
princesswendy85 2/5/2006 2:01:00 AM
This scent is so YUCK. I remember when I was a wee high school student with no job and no money, I would go into BBW just to smell everything and wish for it all. Whenever I was in the mall, I would always want to make a pit stop there. Sometimes, I would just want to show my companion the latest and greatest scent from BBW. A lot of the times, I would make them come in just to smell this particular scent. Honestly, I would make people follow me into BBW just to get a whiff of this tragic scent. It absolutely reeks of... something bad. One friend said it smells like cough drops. I can't place the scent, but it is just gross. At least it doesn't make my stomach turn, I'll give it that. I gave it a 2 rating for this. I almost bought a bottle recently just so I would be able to show it to people from time to time like the days of old when I would make stops into BBW just to be reminded of how bad this scent is. Who knows, maybe it could grow on me. For those who are fans of the scent, it often makes reappearances at the semi-annual sales.

Lotions/ Creams -Bath and Body Works - Tutti Dolci-Creme Brulee Moisturizing Souffle
princesswendy85 2/5/2006 1:52:00 AM
Ughhh, the Creme Brulee is way too strong for me. I smelled it in the store and thought it was nice at first, but after wearing it for about a week, it started to turn on me like a bad friend. It literally made me sick to my stomach after putting it on. I had to hurry and take a shower, and was still haunted by the scent. I had to take Pepto-Bismol and lie on my side. No joking. I honestly can't understand how someone could like this scent, but maybe that's just me. Aside from the repulsive scent, this souffle really is nice and creamy. It is very moisturizing. If you can find a scent that mixes well with your skin, then by all means, indulge! With me, Tutti Dolci scents are either great or a complete miss. I cannot stress enough the importance of trying testers in the stores and wearing the scent for a whole day to see how it works out for you. I also took off some points for the price. $19 is a lot for souffle, but honestly, it does last a long time. Unfortunately, it may last long enough for you to get sick of the scent that you purchased. I stocked up on Apple Torta and swapped most of it away because I didn't want to get sick of it. The packaging is also not perfect. The glass containers are heavy and I'm always afraid that I'll drop and break them. Scooping the souffle out after it's running low can be a challenge sometimes. Overall, great product, but bad packaging. High price. Some of the scents are stomach-wrenching, some are mouth-watering. Heed my warning: TRY THE TESTERS BEFORE SPLURGING!

Lotions/ Creams -Bath and Body Works - True Blue Spa Island Get Away Tahiti Sweetie Body Lotion with Monoi Oil
princesswendy85 2/5/2006 1:39:00 AM
First off, great scent. Definitely not for people who dislike tropical scents. While it's not the most moisturizing lotion out there, it's worth a try. I think it is great for summer since it's rather light; I don't think it would do a good job of softening dry skin during harsh winters. I took off some points for the price... $15 for 8 oz. That is pretty steep, even for Bath and Body Works. It's especially steep since this is not the most moisturizing lotion out there. Also, the scent can get to you after long periods of wear. It can come off as a little too strong sometimes, but overall, I think it's a great scent. I wish there was a subtle perfume or body splash to accompany this scent. They recently released a body wash called "Be More Pacific" that matches this scent. I will buy this again, but I'll wait for it to go on sale.

Scrubs -Unlisted Brand - Coconut Hut Hawaiian Icing Whipped Sugar Scrub
princesswendy85 2/5/2006 1:24:00 AM
This product is yet another masterpiece courtesy of the Coconut Hut. I received a free sample in "Lemon Meringue," and it smells so good that I actually want to eat it. The webmaster said that it's similar to the Lemon Meringue at Bath and Body Works; I beg to differ. Bath and Body Works' is great, but this is pure heaven. Anyway, to the product itself... It is wonderful. The sugar granules are not overly rough and scratchy, but they're coarse enough to actually soften the skin. It's not overly oily like some scrubs, and the scents don't overpower you enough to give you a headache. Speaking of scents, this website has a huge scent menu. There are tons of scents for everyone to try! My only complaint is that it is $8 for a 4 oz container and $14 for an 8 oz container, which may be a little expensive for some people. You will definitely feel like you have gotten your money's worth, though. The packaging is great too. The owner of this etailer always makes sure her products are leak-proof, unlike some. I actually bought a scrub from an e-tailer once that was not leak-proof, and oil was all over everything. Some even leaked through the postal box. This never happens with the Coconut Hut. Go ahead and spoil yourself and get some of this scrub (and other products while you're at it). You will not regret it.
