Fragrances -Fresh - Strawberry Flowers
pixelprincess 7/7/2010 11:02:00 PM
This is a citrusy and fresh scent - maybe it should be called Strawberry Leaves. This was an impulse buy for me at Sephora but I don't regret it. The scent is very light and good for summer. On me, I wasn't impressed with the die dow. In fact, it just kinda died - and a little too soon. So it didn't stay long enough for me to buy it again but it was cute while it lasted.

Polishes -OPI - done out in deco
pixelprincess 7/7/2010 10:54:00 PM
This is a great polish: the colour is a matte greyish lilac. It reminds me of easter eggs and all the pastels that come out in spring. It lasts for about a week - maybe a little more if you aren't as rough on your nails as I am. The polish is very thick but I found it really easy to work with. This may just be a personal preference thing because I love thick polishes. I only used one coat and got a very opaque covering. It dried very quickly, and it was at least three days until I saw the first chip despite going swimming, parties, biking, and doing dishes.

Lip Gloss -Too Faced - Beauty Balm
pixelprincess 7/7/2010 10:47:00 PM
This is a must-have product for me. Maybe your lips can get addicted to it? When I don't have it I notice my lips are really dry and even though I use other lip balms and glosses nothing seems to smooth them (especially in the winter) like this balm. The smell is divine and the colour is a sheer pop. The tin is very difficult. I have even made my SO open it a few times and once my little brother had to take a can opening device to it. I think this may have gotten so bad from being in my purse in and out of the hot sun and cars and into cool A/Ced rooms. Maybe the metal expands? As long as I'm gentle with the lid it's okay. I can put up with it for the product though. Also, it lasts a long time even though I use it at least once a day (if not during the day I always put some on before I got to bed).

Lip Treatments -Too Faced - Lip Injection
pixelprincess 7/7/2010 10:42:00 PM
I love this plumping gloss - but it stings a little. In my experience, pain is beauty when it comes to lip plumbers so I don't mind this one as much. The taste isn't wonderful either. However when worn on it's own it gives my lips a deep red colour that looks totally natural and a good amount of plumpness - but not trout mouth. I think it's definitely worth he money since mine has lasted almost a year and I wear it at least twice a week. Also I love the fact that you can see how much you have left in the bottle. That way I know when I need to start looking to get a new one.

Eye Shadow -Too Faced - Couture Eye Shadow Luxe - Label Whore
pixelprincess 7/7/2010 10:39:00 PM
This is a red-brown colour with a blue and green tone. It's also pretty sparkly. The colour when applied with a light hand goes on sheer and builds well but it's highly pigmented. For me, this colour is good for daytime wear if I keep it light but could easily be built into something dramatic for the evening.

Mascara -Too Faced - Lash Injection
pixelprincess 7/7/2010 10:35:00 PM
I liked this product, it's a good mascara and does stay put no matter what. However, It can get a little clumpy. I use a lot of mascara and I can't say I found this stuff easy to apply. Additionally, removing it was really difficult. Maybe I should have gotten the official remover - because basically I had to twist at it to get it off. This resulted in the loss of lashes and wasn't the most comfortable thing I've ever done. I also suspect this would not hold up to crying. It didn't smudge or anything but it's too hard to get off and costs a little much for a product I will replace every six months. There are just as good mascaras for much less.

Powders -Urban Decay - Surreal Skin
pixelprincess 7/7/2010 10:29:00 PM
This is a great sheer coverage powder that leaves my skin looking dewy and covered - not cakey like some other powders. This also doesn't provide a lot of coverage. I use it over a tinted moisturizer and get just enough coverage. If I have a blemish I use this to set the concealer as well. Completely on it's own I don't notice any "coverage" at all - maybe a little smoothing or blending effect if anything. For me, the way I use it it works wonderfully. On very hot days or after exercise, or something it needs to be reapplied a few times. In an office environment though it should last all day. I hate packaging. It's not hard to use or anything but I think it is difficult to get all of the product out. I hate paying for product I will never be able to get to to use. Additionally, I tried to take the sponge top off but found it too difficult to apply with a brush. Overall this product worked when applied for my combination with an oily-T zone skin when applied using the suggested poof application.

Lipstick -Urban Decay - Gash lipstick
pixelprincess 7/7/2010 10:21:00 PM
I love this red: it's a deep berry/blood blue tinted red. I'm very pale and this colour tends to work for me int he winter in a vampy kind of way. In the summer when I get a little colour it brings a little more warmth to my face. Blue-toned reds are good if you don't have perfectly white teeth and I admit as a coffee and tea lover I have issues with this. Gash is one red lip colour I can wear that doesn't make my smile look awful. I would say while I love it it's probably not for the shy or anyone who is vampire/flapper/art deco/goth averse because it is DARK. But I kind of like that sometimes. I'm not loving the redesigned Urban Decay packaging, the sword on the bottom just seems weird to me.

Eye Shadow -Urban Decay - Midnight Cowboy
pixelprincess 7/7/2010 10:15:00 PM
Midnight Cowboy is a very sparkly peachy-nude. I like this shadow because it can work in a variety of situations. For me, I prefer to wear it at night with a smoky eye and nude lip, but I can see it working in a lot of other situations. There's a little fall out if you apply it heavily but I don't usually have much of that. It's very sparkly on and should be applied with a light hand to avoid fall out later. It lasts all night when I'm out - even now in the summer heat.

Eyeliner -Urban Decay - 24/7 Glide On Eye Pencil in Stash
pixelprincess 7/7/2010 10:10:00 PM
This is a great green eyeliner. The texture, like all of the 24/7 line is very creamy and it's good to work with. The color on this is a gleaming, olive/dark green. I have very fair skin and hazel-greenish eyes. This colour brings out the green in them when I wear it with a neutral shadow for everyday. It's also dark enough that it doesn't look really "green" it just looks dark but for me it totally changes my eye colour. I got this in the mini as a part of a set - I'm not sure if I"d buy a full size but it's def a great liner - but may be for someone a little more daring than me.

Eyeliner -Urban Decay - 24-7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Zero
pixelprincess 7/7/2010 10:05:00 PM
This is my go-to eyeliner. Love it love it love it. The black is very dark and inky. The product is very creamy and can easily be worked with after application. Additionally, I don't have any problems with running or smudges when using this liner. It stays put even in the summer heat and humidity. It's definitely worth it.

Eye Primer -Urban Decay - Eyeshadow Primer Potion - Original (UDPP)
pixelprincess 7/7/2010 10:00:00 PM
This product works to keep creases from forming in my eyeshadow, doesn't dry my eyelids, and keeps my makeup on the right part of my face. Additionally, for anyone who's ever had issues with darkened eyes it can provide a bright canvass to layer colours over - especially good for sheers. However I wouldn't buy it again because of the awful genie bottle packaging. I liked it enough to cut apart the bottle and empty it into a more accessible tiny jar. In the original bottle I would not have been able to get to half of the product I bought to use. For the price I think that's totally unacceptable. You can get an equally good eyeshadow primer - one that you will be able to use to the last drop.

Concealers -Urban Decay - Surreal Skin Creamy Concealer
pixelprincess 7/7/2010 9:55:00 PM
Sorry Urban Decay, I tried really hard to make this work... I got this mostly for under eye issues. The first problem is once I got out of the store, this didn't match my skin tone. I tried to make it work, once I got a little colour in the summer I thought things might get better. It didn't, it still looks kind of ... blotchy. On top of that it's very heavy. Too heavy for my under-eye area; it actually has given me a lot of whiteheads or something in the corners of the under eye area. I didn't have anything like this before using this product - and I always use makeup remover at night so I don't know what else could have caused it. One more complaint - the packaging is awful. I do not usually pay attention to packaging as long as it's functional we are good BUT ... this little genie bottle with the wand applicator is not functional. It's difficult to get all of the product you pay for since once it gets low enough you can't get any more product out. The price combined with the bad packaging - even if the product worked miracles I'm not sure I"d buy it again.

Concealers -Rimmel - Hide the Blemish
pixelprincess 7/7/2010 9:49:00 PM
This is one of the best concealers I've used. It is very creamy and it takes some effort to blend. I use it to cover under eye circles and the occasional spot. The ivory works very well with my skin tone. It is a little heavy and I always set it with powder but I suspect if you didn't set it with powder it might slide off.

Bronzers -Too Faced - Caribbean in a Compact in Sun Bunny
pixelprincess 7/7/2010 9:43:00 PM
This is the bronzer that convinced me a pale girl like me can wear bronzer. The colour really builds and looks very natural and glow-like on my skin. It has a little shimmer too it but not so much if you can't wear it in the daylight. It goes on smooth as well and feels great - I can even forget I'm wearing it. I'm very happy with this product and I'll have to buy more when I run out.
