This stuff works, HOWEVER, there are major trade offs in using this. Yes, if you want thick fuller looking hair, this stuff does that, BUT in doing so you lose shine, manageability, body and moisture. On my hair, I sprayed from root to tips, blow dried and styled, I have very thin super fine hair and I was amazed when my hair looked thicker and felt coarser, but was disappointed in the look and feel. My hair looked really matte and lacked shine big time. My hair felt like straw and everytime I tried to brush through it, it felt kinda tacky. I tried to flip my head around to see how it moved and it just stuck there like I sprayed a bunch of hair spray in it. No bounce, or slip at all. I copied this description directly from the Nick Chavez site: Product Description Boosts body from roots to ends. Builds full bodied styles with sexy moves, touchable hold, and a buoyant feel. Retains moisture without weighing the hair down. You will see and feel the benefits and amazing versatility in just one use! Can be used with Amazon styling products for extra body and thickness. Yeah doesn't do anything it describes. I say use this on a very windy day, if you want your hair to keep its style.

In the beginning, this is a beautiful balance between saltiness and sweet. I loved it, it was so unique and I thought I found another gourmand I Ioved. When the dry down came, I was beyond disgusted. It transformed into a really dirty I haven't washed my butt sort of smell. Really strange, I know there are no cumin notes, but I distinctly smell cumin and cumin is just so wrong on so many levels unless your looking for a nice dirty sexy perfume. I wanted a nice sweet buttery salty sweet goodness, but this one it is not.
Sunscreen -Somme Institute - Double Defense SPF 30

Yes, very very greasy!! Although I thought I would hate this, I actually ended up liking it and use it everyday. It works pretty good with my foundation and probably would be amazing for mineral makeup. The smell is pretty generic sunblock smell. Other than that, great, I would repurchase. Oh and I have crazy crazy oily skin, I've noticed that if you use this sparingly the oil slick won't be too bad.
Yeah its basically expensive cetaphil, this works if you use the transport pads after, which I am beginning to think that because the transport pads can be really harsh, a really gentle non scrubbing sudsing cleanser is needed. I normally use Neaclear oxygen acne wash, that stuff removes makeup pretty well. Anyways, you can probably skip this cleanser if your strapped for cash and still use the somme system
Styling Products -Nick Chavez - Plump 'n Thick Leave-In Thickening Cream
pinknika 12/18/2012 7:50:00 PM
Yeah I agree with a lot of the reviews, the shampoo works great, your hair is full and thick, once you put this stuff on, your hair gets flat, really smooth and yes shiny, but the oomph and volume is lost. Really strange, why make a product to do the exact opposite of what its supposed to do? Whatever, I will plan on trying other products from Nick but yeah, this stuff isn't good at all.
Yes this works GREAT for the plumping and thickening effect. However it is USELESS when it is paired with the plump n thick thickening creme. You can feel this stuff working in the shower, your strands start to expand a little and feel a little coarser like the hair shaft is swelling. Pretty neat, but like I said with the creme, its not as full or nice, but the caveat is, if you don't use a conditioner, your is kinda tangly and knarly when you use this shampoo alone. Not sure about the work around, it seems like any conditioner your use just will way your just thickened hair...so yeah. Hmm...
Styling Products -Nick Chavez - Amazon Hair Body Building Spray

Okay the whole story in a nutshell: I was mesmerized by Nick's performance on QVC. Mainly the plump n thick thickening spray which this is NOT. I had that on my wishlist along with the plump n thick shampoo and conditioning creme. I had a wedding to go and because his shipping takes a while, there would be no way I would get my products in time. I ran to Ulta, couldn't find the plump n thick hairspray so I got this amazon building instead. And I read the description, the more you use yada yada. Here's the thing, I was in charge of doing my Aunt's & my moms hair and makeup for the wedding. I was really siked for this stuff because after all the shows I watched on QVC, they would definatley look like the models, especially how he works the hair and combs his fingers through, they shake it out, they look amazing. Uh no. I was mortified when I finished styling my moms hair, started spraying all over, trying to work the hair, IT STUCK TO ITSELF. Like someone spilled soda on her hair or something. Gross. I felt so bad. Same thing for my Aunt's hair. I was like what the F? So no it probably doesn't work like plump n thick and I know its a completley different product, but I don't know it just isn't what I thought. Maybe I got a knock off? Fake? Oh well. I will try plump n thick though.
Foundations -Sally Hansen - Airbrush Legs- tan glow

I self tan, and sometimes the tan doesn't stick and looks blotchy or it just doesn't take on my legs and some parts of my body. Actually, I orginally bought this to hide my back acne, as I was attending a beach wedding. Well, this did the job. Nice coverage, rubbed in well, I was really really hesitant. The color was decent, maybe a little pink for tan. But worked great, is pretty water resistent but will rub off your clothes after a couple of days if you didn't shower. lol. My only complaints is the overspray, my hotel bathroom looked pretty bad and when I got to other parts, the spray landed on my feet and there were brown droplets all over. Also this is really glittery in the sunlight, I was on the beach right before the wedding and I ran back to get my camera, after I came back, people commented "you look sooo sparkly!" Which could be taken as a compliment, but I admit, I looked down and looked like a disco ball. But other than that I would definatley use this stuff again.

This was a blind buy. Yes the worst kind of purchases. I was intrigued after reading a ton of reviews here and fragrantica, I wanted a nice wintery christmas type perfume. This isn't it. It does blast out with a huge sweet fruitiness to it, instantly it reminded me of something like sensual amber from bath and body works, as it dries down, the fruit is more muted and there is I dunno a slightly soury incensy almost like dryer sheet smell. I was hoping for wood, cognac, anything that the description said! But no :( Overall, I think this smells similiar to a lot of things, hence dryer sheets and other overly fruity perfumes, which I have a a slew of already. What I don't have is warm, sensual woody, curl up with a warm blanket and hot cocoa type fragrance. Where are those?? Any suggestions are wanted.
Growing up, I hated carmex ok not hated but I didn't like it very much and never owned a carmex pot in my life. A month ago I woke up one day craving the stuff. Literally, my bf asked me what I wanted to do one weekend and I told him that I wanted to go buy some carmex lol. If that's not crazy/psycho I don't know what is. Anyway, I looked online and found out they had a lotion, a LOTION! I freaked and bought it and yes...lovely carmex with maybe a hint of vanilla. And yes the scent of dolls!! I don't know about you but I loved that smell when I was a little girl, still do! I can remember cradling my little sisters water baby-smelled a lot like this lotion. Anyways, great scent, good moisturizing properties and non greasy feel. Now they need to make a 16 oz size body lotion and I'd be even happier!!!
Liquid -Rimmel - Lasting Finish 25 Hour Foundation

I literally gave up on drugstore foundations, after Revlon colors stay, I was like this is the last straw!! Well you can say whatever you want when you've got money, but when you don't, you look for alternatives-which is what I did. And I have to say that I am pleasantly surprised. So much so that I might buy another tube! The SA asked me during checkout if I wear primer, I said I have some primer and she said you may want to use it before you apply this foundation. So I did, and I can see what she meant, although my "primer" (monistat anti-chaffing gel) didn't do a good job, (escentuates dry flaky skin, fine lines) I decided to apply my SPF underneath. I currently use somme institute SPF, which is greasy and emollient, I think the combination works well and makes my skin sorta glow. The staying power of this foundation is good, its semi-matte, dry patches diminished, coverage great, although be careful as I globbed it on in a hurry the first use and it was sooooo cakey! So lightly apply with a foundation brush or sponge and it will look pretty good. It might clog pores, I'm acne prone and I'm not sure if its something else. But one lippie down for the color selection. I bought ivory 100 and it's not ivory it's almost a warm neutral will would work if your slightly tan. Overall pretty good buy!

Omg!! I LOVE this fragrance! And I swear I almost didn't test it, as I didn't really like the description and the marketing for it. I know a lot of girls either love or hate this one, and I thought I would hate it. I was sooo wrong! I'm at Sephora and it's one of the ones on my list, there was only the roller ball as a tester. . I tested it on my wrist and practically melted. It smells so warm and woody and just cozy. This is EXACTLY what I've been looking for. I've been on the hunt for warm, cozy fall/winter fragrance and I found it! I then asked the SA for the spray tester and she found it, I sprayed on a strip. Not quite as warm as the roller ball, too sharp...hmmm oh there's a dry oil spray!!! I ended up getting the rollerball as I'm not sure how the dry oil is gonna be, but I'm putting it on my Xmas list. I love this, great warm woodsy scent! Oh and not sure about the boyfriend part, I feel like all men as a whole population smell like Aqua de Gio, my bf doesn't buy it but when I think "man" I think of cologne like that. I wished my bf could smell like this haha.
I do love this fragrance. I really do but it spoils really fast. I went to Sephora and sprayed it, nice, lovely so fresh. My mom even commented how wonderful it smelled. We headed to Ulta and I found it again and I told my mom hey remember this? This is so good! When we sprayed it, it wasn't the same and my mom was like that's not what we sprayed before. There is a strange heavy closet/musty odor that came up, something I was familiar with, because my bottle of Guess perfume started smelling the same. And the Versace bottle at Ulta was half full, so you can't even enjoy the full bottle without it turning rancid. So sad, at that point I said I don't want this one anymore as its gonna turn. I think some perfumes just do, I remember reading a review on MUA on estee lauders pleasures, the reviewer had said how she buys really small bottles and stores them in the fridge to stay fresh and crisp smelling. . I don't love this perfume that much to do all that. Oh well.
WHAT THE @&$?!. ?? THIS is "youth dew"? Ummm I think there's some kind of mistake. Like my other review for Cinnabar, I cannot find out why anyone appreciates this scent. It's just so stuffy, and old, and crotchety. No offense but why do these scents appeal to old women? Is it because they are so old they can't detect how bad they smell? Their sense of smell diminishes when you get older?? Is that what's gonna happen to me when I get that age? Good freakin grief. The good news is my mom agreed, she was grossed out too and this lady is in her early 50's who loves Bulgari, Donna Karan, Chanel, Givenchy...Anyhoo!!! I'm just shocked. I don't get it, and maybe I have to be 80 years old to understand. Bleh.
Horrifying. They say perfume is a matter of taste, and I agree. I have really tried to expand my horizons and try different perfumes and notes that sound delicious and have great reviews. I really am truly trying to love each different note as their own and find good qualities in many, I think that's what perfumers do, they love every scent and try to mix them together to make something beautiful. As for me, as much as I would like to be a perfume connoisseur, sadly I can't. I went to Macy's today and tried to try this stuff. I looked at the SA and told her I want to smell this one, she gave me a tester strip, I uncapped the bottle, took a sniff and couldn't bring myself to spray it. I even said it, I was like holy moly, I can't spray this, I don't even want to, for my sake, my family, and everyone around me. No way. I don't know what the hoopla is all about, but I think maybe you just have to be really old to like this. Sorry!
