Polishes -Essie - Vinyl Bikini
phragmipedium 5/14/2006 12:45:00 AM
This nail polish is fabulous, and not just because of the finish (I have similar results to the other positive reviews). It also LASTS forever on my nails. The texture seems different to me than other Essie polishes, it's almost a bit more glue-like (like a light version of OPI's Nail Envy for peeling nails). I attribute the lasting factor to this. This is a great staple, and I can't wait to try it as a top coat.

Primer/ Corrector -Trish McEvoy - Even Skin Luminizer
phragmipedium 5/1/2006 5:43:00 PM
A makeup artist applied this product on me during my first-ever Trish McEvoy experience. She applied it over my foundation as the last step, to my cheekbones and browbones. It gave me a beautiful, natural dewy glow, a coveted look for a girl with very dry skin. I think it's fabulous, and I bought it for my wedding look. I like that it is colorless, so it adds a nice glow without looking fake in the least. I took off one lipstick because it does feel a tad greasy, and it's pretty pricey. But I do think I'd repurchase this one, especially in the dead of winter.

Crème -MAC - Select SPF 15 Moistureblend [DISCONTINUED]
phragmipedium 2/14/2006 2:19:00 AM
This is my new favorite foundation. I am incredibly dry, and in the winter, even liquids that are specifically for dry skin make me feel drier. I used to slather two kinds of moisturizer under my foundation, but no longer--now I use one moisturizer and this foundation. It gives perfect coverage, neither too heavy or light, and blends beautifully. If you are very dry and this isn't working for you, you may need to moisturize with a better product (I use Bigelow Incredibly Moisturizing Face Cream, which is just awesome). I always have trouble with foundation when I'm not properly moisturized first. I love this foundation, and I am looking forward to seeing how it works for me in the summertime, when I'm not quite so dry.

Mascara -Estee Lauder - Illusionist Mascara- Purple
phragmipedium 10/31/2003 1:32:00 AM
I just purchased this color, and received a small tube of black along with it. I was more than pleasantly surprised! This formula really makes my lashes pop, and I adore the muted purple color, which complements my hair better than a standard brown. Though I'm not crazy about the price, I would definitely repurchase--just not for every day use.

Lip Liners -Shiseido - The Makeup Lip Pencil
phragmipedium 10/30/2003 1:34:00 AM
If I could only have one lip liner, it would be Shiseido's brun mauve shade. This is a definite staple for me; it's a beautiful, neutral color for my pale skin and the application is smooth and creamy. Even though it requires sharpening, it's worth it. I like the formula better than any other liner I've tried. Right now, my favorite look is to fill in my lips with this pencil, and use Chanel's pin up glossimer on top.

Styling Products -Modern Organic Products (MOP) - Glisten Shine Drops
phragmipedium 10/3/2003 10:47:00 PM
I love this product. My stylist applies it to my hair while it's damp, but I use it after I blow dry. My hair is fine and curly, and after I apply this, it tames anything I missed with the brush, which makes my time with the curling/straightening iron much shorter. I have tried other, similar products, but this is my favorite.

Lips -Clinique - Moisture Surge Lipstick- Pink Whimsy
phragmipedium 10/2/2003 8:19:00 PM
Whimsy is one of my favorite everyday lipsticks. It's great when I want to add just a bit of color to my face, but I don't want to appear overly made-up. The best thing about this lipstick is that it looks great without lipliner, applied straight from the tube. I don't think this would work with every skin tone, but it's definitely worth a try at the counter.

Moisturizers -Bobbi Brown - Extra SPF 25 Moisturizing Balm
phragmipedium 10/1/2003 11:44:00 PM
I've run the gamut with moisturizers, having difficulty finding anything for my very dry skin. I discovered this one about a year ago, and I'm now on my second jar. With other brands, I was buying two products and still not getting the same benefit that I get with this moisturizer. I don't have to slather it on, and it works all day. It makes my skin look and feel great, and I actually enjoy the scent.
