Finally an "oil" that doesn't leave my hair like an oil slick. Amazing product for my highlighted blonde hair which is fine and wavy. It adds the right amount of shine and does not leave any stain or oil on clothing or sheets. I will have this with me forever. The scent is clean and I actually use this on my hands if they are dry and it leaves them glowing but again, no oily mess. Fantastic product!
On the fence about Monte Carlo. It is a lovely color but on me there is little color. I grabbed it because it was the reddest of all the shades in the Rouge Coco Shine line. This will work better in the winter when the color can show more on me. I'm a sucker for sheer lippies but this one is just so so. I'm keeping it but will not buy it again, it's just not that outstanding. It's much prettier and more vibrant in the tube than on me. NW25. **EDIT** Threw this out after finding the real red that I needed; that is sheer in Lancome's Red Chiffon. Nothing comares to RC
Lipstick -MAC - Sheen Supreme Lipstick - New Temptation
ninanina 7/11/2011 11:22:00 PM
Finally a sheer blue red l/s. I've been on the hunt for this color for years in a sheer formula. It's close to Nars Manhunt, but has more omph. A close drugstore dupe is Cover Girl's Naturelux in Peony, but that is far, far more sheer. New Temptation has no sheen to it and leaves a lovely slight stain behind. It can "dry out" a little after the shine/gloss wear off but it's nothing to stop someone from buying it who loves a blue red sheer lipstick. The top to the tube does need a little extra "push" to close it or it will come off. This is sure to be a winner and finally MAC did a blue red that they can be proud of. I'll buy this again and again! Bliss! would have been a better name for it. EDIT** The packaging on this product is HORRIBLE. it does not come off, you have to yank at it and the plastic thing inside of the cap comes loose and then you have a real mess. It went back the next day I can't fight with my lipstick and that's what I was doing with this. MAC needs to go back to the drawing board on their packaging!!!
Moisturizers -Peter Thomas Roth - Un-Wrinkle Night Cream
ninanina 7/8/2011 8:35:00 AM
The worst! I used this and woke up to clogged pores that seemed to be filled with "wax"...I have had wonderful skin all my life and now feel the need to see a doctor after using this to clear out and clean out my skin. HORRIBLE! What were they thinking???
I have no idea what lipstick is on the lips in the above picture but it is not the Lady Bug that I bought. Mine is a sheer mixture of tomato and blue making it an almost perfect red for any skin tone. I am NW25 with a little tan and it really looks lovely for the summer. If I were a bit more pale I'm sure it would look a little clownish. I would say the above pic is not at all like Lady Bug. JMO. I won't repurchase it because ideally I like a little more blue in my red l/s...something that MAC falls short on, at least in the lustre family Edit: I'm stuck with this but I find I don't like it. Too brown, too orange, not enough blue. I'm not sure who this would look good on. It's a bit "matronly" something my aunt wore when I was a kid and I didn't like it then either. .
Dupe Alert! This lipstick in Peony is an exact dupe for Nars Manhunt lipstick and Chanel's Porto Rotondo lipstick (now discontinued). Peony is really sheer but the color payoff is far better than a balm/sheer lippie. It's thee perfect cherry red. Brightens without looking clownish like some blue based red l/s's can be. Because it's sheer it doesn't last long, but leaves a lovely stain. I did find it to bleed a little bit, but nothing to stop me from buying it again. NW25, and it's the perfect face lift red if you're looking to lift up your coloring/look! At $4.00 give it a try!
Mink! you are fantastic! This is a mighty close dupe for Mac's Naked Lunch e/s. I don't use this as an eyeshadow, rather I brush this lightly all over my face. It's a lustre formula so there is no obvious shimmer and no glitter. It's a sheer brown, a "wash' really to just liven up my makeup. I love Naked Lunch, but this gives an oomph to my NW25 complexion for the summer. I love it and it's dirt cheap. With a coupon at CVS I actually got this today for $1.50. I will always have this with me!
Lipstick -Maybelline - Color Sensational High Shine in Glisten Up Pink
ninanina 5/23/2011 8:44:00 PM
Wonderul, youthful, lovely pink lippie. This is a fantastic ls by Maybelline. It looks horribly purple in the bullet, but it's just the best. It makes me look natural, healthy and it's perfect. This new line is a dupe for several high end ls's. Try this if you want a blue based, but not heavily, healty pink color. I am NW25, so I'm pretty warm and this works perfectly. Dirt cheap at Target at $4.89...perfection!!! Oh, and it's sheer so if you are looking for a long wear color this is not it, I'm just a sucker for "sheer" lippies, but long wear and "leave a stain" this is not.
If you love Shalimar like I do, here's a little trick. Spray some perfume, or whatever you have, on a piece of cotton, put it on the back of a room fan in whatever room you want and your entire "space" will smell like it. It's a trick they use in the Guerlain stores and I've been doing it since. Don't use alot unless the room is really big or it could be overwhelming. It's just a nice way to scent a room with something you like rather than a bunch of phoney room sprays. Enjoy!
Beautiful color Angel is. The veil formula is FS's "sheer" .. this is a lovely rose, a perfect dupe for Nars Dolce Vita only with more rose to it and longer lasting than DV. This is worth trying if you're looking for the perfect rose. In the tube it looks grossly brown, once on it's the perfect color for me NW25. Love it and will buy it again. I think Face Stockholm is an overlooked company for some reason. Their products are worth the price.
Lipstick -Revlon - Super Lustrous -- Softsilver Red
ninanina 4/1/2011 3:03:00 PM
I'm not sure why Revlon calls this a "red". It's a pinky coral with shimmer. It's the exact color of Nars Niagara with frost. What would have made this a home run would have been to have added a few drops of RED and cut the frost down a little. I'll hang on to it but will not buy this again.
Pressed Powders -MAC - Mineralize Skinfinish Natural - Medium
ninanina 3/13/2011 4:27:00 PM
I love this! It made its way into the back of a drawer while I was "trying" to make BE work (and it didn't) .. I love the color of this in Medium on my NW25 skin. The finish is perfection. It's not heavy and after brushing it around with a big fat good brush, you can't tell it's on but it lends a perfect complexion. I wish it had a mirror, but that's ok. As far as the price goes, when I look around and lippies are running into the $50 range, this appears to be a steal...because it works! BTW the picture up ^ there isn't of this color, that's some sort of bronzer or something. Medium is a true medium, not warm, not cool just a perfect color. I will continue using/buying this and the BE went in the trash around 9 a.m. today!
I don't use this as a shadow. Grain is the exact color of my skin so I was on the hunt for a "mini foundation" for touch ups during the day rather than hauling around a big compact and this does it. It's sheer has a tiny luminosity to it so it's not flat and it just works perfectly! I also use Omega for face contouring rather than eyeshadow too. I love that they are small and take up no room. Talk about multi-tasking products! Love them both! Perfect!
Interesting l/s See Sheer is...on me, because I have pigmented lips this can show up as a coral in some light, then a slight pink and in low light it shows brown. I'm not sure what to make of it. What it doesn't do is go blue at any time on me which is what I was looking for. It's nice with Guerlain bronzer and a touch of Nars Orgasm blush, but it's not a spectacular color that's for sure. Not sure I would get this again I might try Crosswires when I do Back-To-Mac.
Pinky Grey is the description on Sephora and they are right. This is the most beautiful grey, fat, easy to apply eyeliner I have found. I use it over and then just above whatever liner I'm wearing and it makes all the difference in the way my blue eyes look. The only minus is that you have to shave it and I always feel like I'm loosing alot of product that way but at $6 I'm not complaining. I love this eyeliner it's perfection: a muted grey with personality and sass!
