Primer/ Corrector -Laura Mercier - Foundation Primer
nicolley77 3/18/2007 10:29:00 PM
i've been using this primer every day for as long as i can remember. it feels nice and cool going on and makes my face smooth for makeup application. it's not a miracle worker but it does it's job. definitely doesn't feel like those smasbox type silicone primers which people seem to love, so a lot of people don't like it. however, since i've been using this one for so long, any other primer feels totally weird and not right on me. lm is definitely the best imo.

Concealers -Laura Mercier - Undercover
nicolley77 3/18/2007 10:15:00 PM
i LOVE that lm made this as an alternative to secret camouflage. i used to use secret camouflage and liked it, but after i used this one, i can't go back. i mix the 2 sides together (even though they say you are supposed to use them separately) and it's the perfect consistency. i've always found secret camouflage a little too dry on its own. i use for covering blemishes and evening out skin in lieu of foundation. (i use prescriptives camouflage cream for undereye.) also, i always used to hate that you get SO much product w/ secret camouflage, so that it would last me like 3 years and the compact would get all gunky. this one is pricier relative to the amount of product, but it's prettier and more hygenic imo. lm face products are my hg, so of course i will be buying this again and again.

Moisturizers -Bliss Labs - Steep Clean Moisture Lotion
nicolley77 11/12/2006 10:57:00 PM
this moisturizer is thick yet not greasy, with a slightly peachy scent. it does seem to mattify your skin upon contact, but a couple hours into the day and i am oily in the t-zone as usual. however, i haven't found anything that really stops the oil production for me, so i wasn't expecting anything great from this product in that respect. i do think it is a nice oil-free daytime solution, but at night i use something more moisturizing. i also think the bottle is quite nice, as it should be for the price.

Toners -Biotherm - Biosource Clarifying Lotion
nicolley77 11/12/2006 10:51:00 PM
i like this toner a lot. it feels cool and refreshing going on, yet it's not too harsh and doesn't dry out my skin. i have combo skin so it works for me, probably not a good toner for drier types though.

Eye Makeup Remover -Bare Escentuals - eye makeup remover
nicolley77 8/8/2006 5:52:00 PM
this stuff burns my eyes and smells like nail polish remover. after using it a couple of times i started thinking that maybe they DID give me nail polish remover by accident, and i started freaking out that i had been putting it on my eyes. i don't think it did any permanent damage, but i don't think it's makeup removing capabilities are worth the pain.

Blush -Becca - Lip and Cheek Creme in Rosebud
nicolley77 8/8/2006 5:48:00 PM
i've never used this as a lipstick, but on cheeks it's a great color. i love pink blushes and this pink is too cute. also it isn't too pigmented like some creme blushes out there, so i don't have to worry too much about over applying. the only think that kinda sucks is that it is way small for the price you pay.

Cleansers -BeneFit Cosmetics - Woosh
nicolley77 8/8/2006 5:44:00 PM
i bought this cleanser as a substitute for my DDF 2% salycilic wash, just to mix things up a bit and also because it's cheaper. however, i'll be going back to DDF after this bottle. (after 5 years of using DDF, you would think i would know not to mix it up!) i guess this cleanser works fine, but to me it just isn't as good as the DDF one. for one thing, i think it smells a little funny. for another, self foaming cleansers just don't feel like they do as good of a job as the ones you foam up yourself. but in terms of keeping oil at bay, i guess it does a decent job.

Toners -L'Occitane - Olive Water Face Toner
nicolley77 3/13/2006 11:19:00 PM
great toner ... i'm not one to rely on any toner to actually do anything to my skin, just make it feel soft and maybe a little cleaner. this one definitely softens and feels refreshing, and i love the olive smell. also it doesn't dry your skin out the way some toners and astringents do. a good prep for moisturizer.

Moisturizers -Korres - Alpine Herbs Anti-Stress Energizer
nicolley77 3/12/2006 2:44:00 PM
i'm generally pretty pleased with this moisturizer, in that it does it's job (i.e. it moisturizes) and it does not break me out. however, i only use this at night because i feel that it doesn't absorb all that well and kind of sits there for an hour on your face before it really sinks in. also i find i have to use a big old glob of it. contrary to everyone else, i love the packaging. i am a fan of heavy glass jars though, makes the product feel more expensive to me. =) i also like the fact that it is supposed to be a more nstural brand. all in all a decent product.

Moisturizers -DDF - Ultra Lite Oil-Free Moisturizing Dew
nicolley77 3/12/2006 2:39:00 PM
this is my HG daytime moisturizer. IMO you can't say much bad about it, it is light, oil free, sinks in to the skin, and is virtually scentless. it's not for very dry skin, but normal and oily skins should take to it well. i need a little extra help at night with a heavier moisturizer but for daytime this is perfect. i've been using it every day for about 5 years now and i don't think i'll stop anytime soon.

Eye Makeup Remover -Sephora - Express Waterproof Eye Make-up Remover w/ vitamin E
nicolley77 3/12/2006 2:34:00 PM
it is ok, but it takes a bit of rubbing. i want an eye makeup remover that can just glide my makeup off. i prefer lancome's remover to this, i believe.

Cleansers -Lancome - Mousse Confort- Foaming Cream Cleanser
nicolley77 3/12/2006 2:31:00 PM
i'm not really a fan of lancome, but i bought this because of a free gift incentive. i'm not really a fan of this cleanser either. it's marketed as a gentle cleanser for dry skin but when i use it, it's totally harsh. it makes my skin feel dry and tight, and it stings my eyes if the product gets close to them! gentle cleansers, in my opinion, should be able to be used as eye makeup removers too. not so with this one. i would say if you are looking for an oily skin cleanser, this might do the trick, but it didn't for my purposes. i'm going to stay away from lancome next time.

Cleansers -DDF - Salicylic Wash 2%
nicolley77 3/12/2006 2:22:00 PM
this is my HG morning cleanser. i use it every morning to stop shine throughout the day. without it my skin would be a total grease puddle. it comes in a huge bottle and you don't need a whole lot of it to wash your face, so the value is pretty good. it lathers very nicely and there's not really a smell. the trick with this product is to use it only once a day though, or else your skin will get way too dry. i use a gentle moisturizing cleanser at night to balance it out. but i have gone through a ton of bottles of this cleanser and it is a permanent part of my rotation.

Treatments (Eye) -Kinerase - Kinerase Intensive Eye Cream
nicolley77 3/6/2006 3:53:00 AM
I guess I am in the category of people that this stuff just does not work on. I bought the eye creme awhile ago and it didn't seem to do anything ... then I put it aside when someone gave me a L'Occitane eye cream, which was very light but worked wonderfully. Then I ran out of the L'Occitane and started using this again, and now my eyelids have completely shriveled up and dried out, and there are tons of wrinkles around the corners of my eyes and even reaching towards my nose! I don't understand the rave reviews but I guess that just shows you that skin can be so different on different people. Anyways, since I haven't gotten a chance to buy more eye cream yet I guess I am forgoing it all together until I can get some more L'Occitane.
