This was my first Sephora purchase a few years ago. It's absolutely beautiful and the colors work very well! The blush is pigmented and is too much for day time. For going out it's perfect, but I need to blend blend blend. When I do a dance performance, it's PERFECT! The eyeshadows look very well put on, and are great for day or night looks. I use the lighter colors to highlight any look I'm going for. I love LORAC palettes, they are such a great bargain for what you get!
Moisturizers -Aveeno - Positively Radiant anti-wrinkle cream
nevroth 4/24/2010 4:58:00 PM
I bought this cream after noticing a few fine lines under my eyes where my dark circles are. HATE IT! It burned under my eyes and on my cheeks, everywhere else I woke up to clogged pores and a few pimples. I wanted to like it, especially because it seemed so fancy with it's soy complex, but not for me. I'm using the rest of it as a hand cream before I go to bed. Now I like it- the scent is good and it makes my hands soft. Don't know if I'd buy it again for that purpose, maybe, but definitely not for my face.
I like this. I bought it when my usual 10% benzoyl peroxide cream was sold out (the store brand, lol). This was also a little more bang for my buck than the Clean & Clear version, I think, but it works, and that's what counts. I use it to spot, or cover areas as needed (like my forehead whenever I have bangs) at night. If I'm having a nasty pimple, then I'll use it during the day but rub in until it's clear. I can use makeup like normal. It can be drying so make sure to have a good moisturizer for the next morning.
When I was in highschool I used a prescription benzoyl peroxide cream all over my face to treat acne. When my insurance ran out when I became an adult, I had to find an alternative. I don't remember the % of the prescription, but this works great. Usually I spot treat, although if I'm feeling widespread ickies I will use a small layer over my face - at night only. If I have a particular nasty or cystic one (those are rare, usually happens in my hunt for the perfect SPF lotion for face) I will even dab some on before leaving the house, making sure it's rubbed in clear. I can wear my makeup as usual with no side effects. Noted, it can be drying, especially using widespread, but I only do that rarely, like once a month if that. Also, I've used other brands of 10% benzoyl peroxide as well, it's the ingredient that counts- they all work the same to me.
Gels/Soaps -St. Ives - Energizing Citrus Moisturizing body wash
nevroth 4/23/2010 7:02:00 PM
The scent of this body wash really woke me up in the morning. It was like~ POW!!! fresh squeezed grapefruit, lol. I've been looking into more organic bar soaps, but this is a definite keeper if I can't find something else.
Scrubs -St. Ives - Apricot Scrub Blemish and Blackhead Control

I love this product. I've been using it for years- usually every day, with no effects. This was the only thing that kept my skin clear when I didn't want to spend the $$$ on Clinique's stuff that I was using before (love the Dramatically Different Gel though, that's a keeper!). Lately I've noticed that my normally oily skin is pretty much dry all over- it may be the weather but we're heading towards summer here in CA= preparing to combat oily craziness. Instead of daily I've been using it every other day and have seen improvement so I may even only use 3x a week. Lol, being in the mid-tweenties is fun- not my spry 19 year old self anymore. Anywho, I love this and will continue to use it- my face really feels clean, and I don't break out :) EDIT: I'll only be using this once a week now, and this tube will probably be my last one. *sad* It's quite abrasive on my skin now (read- red, dry, sensitive), but it gave me a good run. Age 24 skin does not equal age 19 skin, lol though I may want it to be. Still love it and would recommend it. There are usually small travel sizes you can buy, but in the past I felt the consistency of product was different.
Deodorants -Jason Natural Cosmetics - Aloe Vera Deodorant Stick
nevroth 4/22/2010 1:35:00 AM
I love this deodorant! I like the way it feels going on, I like how it masks any stinkiness I'm having, and I like the aloe vera scent (it really does smell like fresh cut aloe!). I especially like that it didn't cause gross side effects like Tom's of Maine did- namely, amplifying my stinky pits and make me sweat more. I've been using this for a year until it ran out- I was literally using my fingers to get every last goodness. When I went to purchase more, the price put me off - I didn't remember paying $10 +tax at CVS last year! So I'm on the hunt for a less expensive natural alternative, but if this is ever on sale, or in a week or two I can't find something else, I'm totally buying this one again! UPDATE: May 5, 2011. I'm a dork and will sing this~ Never, never, never going to give you up~ I'm never, ever, ever going to stop~ Not the way I feel about you, deordorant I just can't live without you~~! Really, I finally gave in and bought this deodorant after spending like $50 trying other ones. I was so afraid that it wouldn't work again, but JEEZ I should have just bought it. I've been using this for the last 3 months and it's the ONLY, I repeat ONLY deordorant that works for me. I've tried so many, you can look at my reviews to see, and this is the only one that lasts, smells decent, and WORKS. I will admit that it can be irritating if I use immediately after waxing, but at least for me it doesn't last long and it's still effective. It doesn't leave any white residue and keeps up with my super active lifestyle (dance teacher/performer). Also, it's only $7 at Whole Foods, whew. A few other deos have stopped working after a few weeks, but 3 months later this is still working great. Seriously I love this deordorant...
This deodorant did not work for me at all. I felt like it amplified my stinky pits and made me sweat more. Tried it for 2 or 3 weeks then tossed it out. I've been using a Jason aloe deodorant for about a year now with none of the side effects this ToM one gave me. It DOES smell yummy though, that's why I initially bought it.
This was my #1 deoderant/anti-perspirant. I've made the switch to natural deodorants about a year ago, and lemme tell you, it's hard NOT to go out and buy one of these. It worked wonderfully in blocking sweat- as a dance major, I would have 3-5 hours of dance classes straight and this never let me down. In performances, I didn't have to worry about stinking or the dreaded pit stains. I rated this high because it works, and I would buy it again, if I weren't so scared of potentional carcinogens.
This was my first switch to just deodorant sans anti-persirant when I made the jump about a year ago. I had the apricot one, because it smelled good. Well, that didn't last long. I felt like this deodorant amplified my stinky pits and made me sweat more - GROSS. I tried it for about 2 or 3 weeks before I tossed it out. I've since been using a Jason aloe deodorant and have had none of the issues like I did with this ToM, it must be something in the ingredients. It's not as expensive as Jason so you can give it a shot, but I'd never wear or personally recommend this to anyone!
Primer/ Corrector -Rimmel - Fix and Perfect Foundation Primer
nevroth 4/18/2010 8:28:00 PM
I didn't like it. No noticeable difference in pore size, doesn't "even out your complexion," and I couldn't tell if it made my foundation last longer or not- I could have not used it and received the same results. It does make my face feel smooth, but it also has an orangey tint to it which on my olive/yellow skin is actually noticeable if I don't use foundation. Won't repurchase- might try to use the rest as an eye primer since I hate tossing things out.
I don't remember the name of this, since I bought it like 2 years ago, but its no. 660 matte and 105 gloss, the matte is super RED. I use this for performances and I love it! The red is intense and stays on forever! and I mean ever, it's hard to get off at night. But I love the red by itself, I love the gloss by itself, and I love them both together- very glamorous. When I run out, I'm totally getting another.
Mascara -Revlon - Beyond Natural Mascara [DISCONTINUED]
nevroth 4/18/2010 8:17:00 PM
I guess natural mascara is not for me, mostly because I didn't think it was dark enough. It flaked off near the end of the day (boo!) but added some lenght. Wasn't amazing, so I'll not repurchase.
Mascara -Revlon - 3D Extreme Mascara - Blackest Black
nevroth 4/18/2010 8:12:00 PM
At the time that I bought this mascara, I loved it. It added lenght and volume very well. Unfortunately I found that it clumps way more than my other mascaras, and flecks off on my cheeks during the day. Oh well, I liked it, but probably wouldn't buy it again.
Mascara -Maybelline - Great Lash Mascara Blackest Black
nevroth 4/18/2010 8:07:00 PM
The colors of the packaging are really silly to me, for whatever reason it makes me think of that Batman movie where the Joker creates his own cosmetic line. Anywho, I don't like this mascara. It darkens my lashes, but seems like I have to put too much work in to get any lenght. Not really amazing in any way but the dark color. Cheap but not for me.
