Concealers -mark - Invisible Touch [DISCONTINUED]
rated 2 of 5

Warning--the lightest color of this is way too dark for PPPs! (I'm a nw15, and it looked like mud on my face). Coverage is eh at best, and for some reason this product is very drying (why?). Save your dough, don't get this.

Lip Gloss -mark - Glow Baby Glow Gloss keychain in Chic
rated 5 of 5
mumu81202 1/25/2006 12:35:00 PM

What an adorable little lip gloss! I love this light pink, it's easy to slick on (no mirror required), and gives a nice bit of color while you're on the go. It's alos prettier to have on a keychain than any other "keychain" gloss I've seen (Lola and Hard Candy, I'm talkin' to you). I love the little black beads. Overall, a great little bit of girly to-go.

Polishes -Essie - Bonded
rated 5 of 5
mumu81202 1/19/2006 3:30:00 PM

In general, I'm a fan of Essie nailpolishes over any other brand. Bonded is no exception. A beautiful pinky berry-ish red with red and silver microglitter (looks shimmery, not 12 year old-ish); great on my NW 15 hands. Applies smoothly, and looks just like the bottle with 2 coats. A fun, pretty shade to add to anyone's collection

Top/Base Coats -Nicole - Top Coat Plus
rated 3 of 5
mumu81202 12/30/2005 2:07:00 AM

I am unimpressed with this top coat. I think the "plus" in it's name refers to the amount of money you're wasting on it. Overall, it performed as well as any other clear polish would. Save your $$, and buy a cheap clear polish (CG nailslicks has a good one for around $4)

Polishes -Essie - Sea Breeze
rated 3 of 5
mumu81202 12/30/2005 1:59:00 AM

In general, I adore Essie polishes. But this one really disappointed me. I was hoping for a pinky mauve (as it looks in the bottle). Instead, I got an almost Barbie Pink with none of the blue-ish shimmer present in the bottle (I applied 3 coats). For reference, I'm a PPP (NW-15).

Moisturizers -Olay - Complete Defense Daily UV Moisturizer SPF 30 (Non-Sensitive Formula)
rated 4 of 5
mumu81202 10/25/2005 11:53:00 PM

For the price point, this is the best moisturizer I have ever used. It's light, absorbs fairly quickly, and doesn't make skin feel greasy or parched. I have combination skin, so I only use this on my dryer areas. I like the fact that it's spf 30, and I think full spectrum. I like the closable pump, though I wonder how I'm gonna get the last little bit out of the container. All in all though, it's really a nice light moisturizer for those who aren't expressly dry.

Masks -Noxzema - Continuous Clean Deep Cleansing Mask Tingly Citris Formula
rated 4 of 5
mumu81202 10/25/2005 11:47:00 PM

After noticing that this mask has an IDENTICAL ingredient list to Olay's Mask (both are by P&G and $2 this one is cheaper), I bought this mask to replace my Queen Helene (which has been disagreeing with me). It has both Bentonite and Kaolin clays (both nicely drying and oil-soaking), as well as titanium dioxide, seaweed and sea kelp extracts, and panthenol. I opened the mask to find it was a white paste, less thick and sticky than QH, but thicker than Mudd brand masks. It spreads very well and has a lovely citris-y scent (it almost reminds me of orange-aid). Unfortunately, as the mask dried, the same lovely scent began to make my eyes water and blur. I've never had this problem before, so I allowed it to continue to dry. After about 8 minutes (the tube says to leave it on for 5), the mask was finally dry and ready for me to wash off (warm wet washcloth pressed on face for 10 seconds or so makes this gentle and easy). After the mask was off, I noticed that it had definately cleaned up my pores, dried things up, and left my skin feeling very smooth. The moral of this story is: if you are sensitive to scents, pass. If not (or if you're stubborn like me), try it (and save your $$). I know I'll most likely buy it again.

Bronzers -Tony & Tina - 3 in 1 Bronzer
rated 5 of 5
mumu81202 6/13/2005 8:29:00 AM

After attempting to give myself some color on my very PPP (NW 15, no natural color to my cheeks) skin with countless bronzers (NARS, Caboodles Tahiti, MAC, Origins, Bare Escentuals, Mark, Clinique, etc... you name it, I've tried it); I have FINALLY found a bronzer suitable for me. T&T 3-in-1 pink vibrations doesn't make me look dirty or orange, instead it gives me a healthy subtle color (like I've been in the sun all afternoon). I have found that with us pale girls, a little color goes a loooooong way. I use either a L'Oreal blush brush (for more color) or a Essence of Beauty skunk brush (for a light glow). It looks great alone, or with a light pink blush on the apples of your cheeks. I was hesitant to buy this at Nordstrom.com, but I'm so happy I did!

Liquid -Lancome - Color ID
rated 4 of 5
mumu81202 1/20/2005 4:13:00 AM

On my quest for my HG foundation, I stumbled across this beauty. It is (so far) my favorite. First of all, Iit's matches my skin tone (which is apparently difficult for brands to do). Secondly, it goes on sheer and is buildable to a lighter medium coverage. It blends like a dream, and reallyevens out tone without looking mask-like. It's never caked on me, or dried me out. Also, I've not had a severe grease problem. But, what holds it back from HG status is that it fades as the day progesses. I'll be flawless at 9am, and by 2pm, my face is mostly bare (sure, I'm guilty of having my hands on my face a lot, but it's no excuse). I wish it stayed on longer and wish I could build the coverage more. My search continues...

Lipstick -Origins - Sheer stick in Clovebud
rated 5 of 5
mumu81202 10/19/2004 9:45:00 PM

I got this as an extra in a swap. I am kicking myself for not trying this sooner! It goes on soft and smooth, with buildable color (from barely bitten to a rich reddish hue). I love the fact that I can stick this in my pants pocket and go, without it melting. And I can use it many many times brfore I need to sharpen it. I'm dying to get more!

Highlighters -BeneFit Cosmetics - Black Orchid- It Was The Perfect Alibi [DISCONTINUED]
rated 5 of 5
mumu81202 9/15/2004 11:43:00 AM

I love this stuff! AS a PPP, I have to be careful regarding highlighters. Most leave me looking greasy or shiny, not glowing or dewy. This double-sided wonder does both! The white side is great as a brow highlight, and the pink side if fabulous on the apples of your cheeks, allow the collarbone, or on the decolltage. I love the creamy consistancy, it allows me to apply it after my foundation (without having splotches or naked patches, like liquid highlights), and it's easier and less messy than shimmer powder. At first, I wasn't crazy about the price ($26), but I've found that a teeny bit goes a long way. I have used this a couple times a week since it launched, and I only have a slight dip in the pink side. Thanks, Benefit for a winner!

Scrubs -Kiehls - Kiehls Papaya and Pineapple Face Scrub
rated 1 of 5
mumu81202 9/4/2004 8:18:00 PM

Ick. I thought this was going to ba a more effective exfoliator than Benefit's Pineapple scrub. Boy, was I wrong. This stuff is gross. It smells awful (kinda plastic-y?) and feels like snot. It doesn't have enough scrubbing power, and refuses to wash/rinse off. Overall, I'm glad I had only a sample of this, and didn't waste my $$.

Liquid -Cover Girl - TruBlend
rated 3 of 5
mumu81202 8/26/2004 10:58:00 AM

I really liked the pump packaging, and the promise to match my skintone, but I guess I fall into the 2% that this foundation doesn't match. Too bad. It has a great mousse-like texture, a breeze to apply. It blends well, has no offensive odor (unlike other CG products), and it's cheap! Oh well, guess it could work for someone that isn't as pale as me.

Liquid -Urban Decay - liquid Surreal Skin
rated 3 of 5
mumu81202 8/26/2004 10:56:00 AM

I'll give points for the hygenic tube, for the great color match (I'm very PPP), and for the ease of use. However, this foundation does not stand up to the day well. It looks mask-like in two hours, and gets greasy in four. I'm fairly disappointed with it. I was really hoping to find a HG here.

Concealers -Origins - Quick, Hide! Easy blend concealer
rated 4 of 5
mumu81202 8/26/2004 10:54:00 AM

Good stuff. I love the hygenic tube, and if you don't squeeze hard, you can get the perfect amount (no globbing or mess). A teeny tiny bit goes a really long way. It is a tad dark on me though(and I'm a NW15). It stays put, doesn't fade too quickly, and doesn't crease nearly as badly as most other concealers do. And it's a good price both at the counter ($12) or at CCO ($7.95).
