Treatments -Paula's Choice - Skin Balancing Antioxidant Concentrate
misspris26 12/30/2011 9:16:00 AM
I had such high hopes for this and the ingredients are fantastic (as far as the antioxidants, etc)...what makes this suck? First of all you have to shake it and shake it and then the product sometimes shoots out of the tube (see review under mine). What I also hate is that sometimes it's sorta orange, sometimes it's clear, sometimes it's thin, sometimes thick....despite me shaking my heart out! As for the serum, it's a SUPER silicone, slippery slime that is applied to your face. It also has retinol but oddly my mild neutrogena retinol creams will make me slightly flake in areas with nightly use and this does not despite applying a lot (trying to get rid of it!!!!!) and using it every night. I sorta question the retinol factor here. The only good thing is that when I wake up in the morning my face is not greasy but big deal, I jump in the shower anyway!!
This is in such a pretty tube that people comment when they see it! It's in a clear glass tube with a totally clear square glass lid with a simple VS on it. Any way as for the gloss, it's not too thick, doesn't bleed and gives beautiful shine with subtle, fine sparkles. I got the color "heated" which is a hot pink color.
Lip Gloss -Victoria's Secret - Lip Lacquer in Baby Doll
misspris26 12/30/2011 9:01:00 AM
I adore this! It's creamy and the coverage is not sheer like many lipglosses which is nice. This color is a soft pink that is not too pale for me to wear alone but looks AMAZING layered!!! Doesn't easily bleed either.
Lip Gloss -Victoria's Secret - Beauty Rush Lipgloss in Strawberry Fizz
misspris26 12/30/2011 8:57:00 AM
I have used this for years! It's a soft, shimmery pink that I wear over a lip stain or lipstick. I wish it wasn't in a tube, I prefer a wand. It's tasty, smells good and thick enough to stay put without being sticky.
Eye Shadow -Victoria's Secret - Silk Eyeshadow in Provocateur
misspris26 12/30/2011 8:50:00 AM
I picked up 3 of these sparkle shadows during the Christmas sale and wow, VERY nice!! I bought this color which is a very neutral copper color. What I like is that I can easily control the depth of color -I can use this as a wash on the entire lid, or use it as a contour. What's nice is that it's sparkly and somewhat glittery without being over the top. Before trying it I thought it would be the type of shadow reserved for a night on the town - ha!! I can wear it to work (I'm a nurse, not some nicely dressed office-attired person). Just love that I can pull it off as everyday shadow yet oomph it up for night. I also got the color "make out" which is a cotton candy pink and "lose control" which is an espresso brown that I use for dramatic contour of eyeliner. Love them all!
Moisturizers -Olay - Total Effects Night Firming Cream
misspris26 11/9/2011 11:32:00 PM
A nurse practitioner I work with is over 40 and has amazing, glowing skin. She raved about this so I figured why not try it (and for the record she is a high end girl so I was shocked that she uses Olay). One thing I CAN NOT stand is a thick, slimy, heavy cream. I end up feeling gross and washing my face. This cream absorbs into the skin well. It smells heavenly and my face feels clean with it on. That is such a plus for an oily, acne prone girl like me. Imagine how thrilled I was to come to pville and see the high ratings! yay!
Mascara -Cover Girl - Lash Perfection Volumizing Mascara

LOVE THIS!! I like *very* dramatic, over the top lashes (pics in profile) and this gives me just that. I was using Lash Exact and tried this because of the raves here in p'ville. If you don't apply several coats like I do you can also achieve a very natural, yet "boy she has great lashes" look. This gives me long, bushy, full, fanned out, feathery lashes. And it's soooo inexpensive!! http://makeupalley.com/account/picsearch.asp/u=misspris26/
Conditioner -Suave - Professionals Almond & Shea Butter
misspris26 10/13/2011 7:32:00 PM
What do I ask of a conditioner? That it be thick with lots of slip. It must detangle my hair without weighing it down or making it greasy (I have processed, long hair and an oily scalp). I bought this due to all the raves on MUA. This is amazing! Smells great, too. And like $2!! When I think of all the expensive stuff I have in my shower right now I want to laugh! This is almost as good as my Frederick Fekkai (only FF smells so much better). Try it!
Liquid -Revlon - ColorStay Makeup with SoftFlex SPF 15 Normal/Dry Skin
misspris26 10/13/2011 7:27:00 PM
I used to use the oily/combo skin version of this but decided to try this formula. SOOO much better!! Keeps my oily skin more under control, blends way easier, better colors. No more shaking the bottle forever or the makeup separating. This is very, very sheer which I like but you can easily build for excellent coverage. It's a very natural finish. I just wish Revlon would get rid of the glass bottle!! So unsanitary! I do have to be careful with powder touch ups as my face can appear dirty looking with this foundation, don't know why.
Shampoo -Suave - Professionals Almond & Shea Butter
misspris26 10/13/2011 7:22:00 PM
How a $2 shampoo can be this good astounds me. I only bought this because of raves on the hair board and in all honesty I didn't expect to be so wow'ed. I was so curious to try it! FYI I used the matching conditioner which I reviewed separately (it rocks as well). Anyway, I have colored hair PLUS highlights and lowlights. My hair is very long (mid back), dry, easily tangles. My scalp is oily and sensitive and I like volume. This delivers! My hair was soft, bouncy and flat ironing was way easier! You have to try this - since it is so inexpensive you have nothing to lose! This is my second favorite s&c (Frederick Fekkai Glossing being #1)
Treatments -Neutrogena - Rapid Wrinkle Repair night moisturizer
misspris26 9/30/2011 7:55:00 AM
They must have re-vamped this product, it now comes in a tube and says "accelerated retinol" on it and it's AMAZING! Not greasy, smells great!! My all time fave retinol product AND it's strong because if I get flakey sometimes.
Moisturizers -Cerave - Facial Moisturizing Lotion - PM
misspris26 9/30/2011 7:47:00 AM
This feels like a moisturizer SHOULD. Sinks into the skin, non-greasy, not perfume-y, doesn't sting. I loved this stuff! HOWEVER, I tried it twice and I think it clogged my pores. Turns out it has several pore clogging ingredients if you check it against these lists: http://www.zerozits.com/Articles/acnedetect.htm#inglist http://facerealityacneclinic.com/articles/pore_clogging.php Such a shame because the rest of the ingredients are great (hyaluronic acid, ceramides, niacinamide)
I have to vent here so please excuse me. This product gets a low rating IMO because people buy products that aren't right for what they are looking for and are wrong for their skin type. I am puzzled as to why so many DRY SKINNED people have purchased this! It is targeted towards oily skinned people like myself who are looking for a dry, matte finish!! If you have dry, flakey skin why would you even try this? It's a MOUSSE that gives a MATTE finish for pete's sake! This is NOT a product to expect hydration from! Vent over, on with my review....this is a thick mousse (think like the dessert), it smooths on evenly and lovely if you know how to correctly apply foundation (I use a triangular wedge)...I set with loose powder, add blush/bronzer and voila! airbrushed perfection! I would not recommend this if you have dry patches, flakes (if I am in one of my retin a micro cycles I make sure to exfoliate WELL or this won't look good). I keep my skin smooth and hydrated. I adore this foundation! If you're not careful, it does come off on your clothes easily AND it can look cake-y if you don't apply it right. BUT people have slammed this product for this when it is NOT meant to be a long lasting, transfer proof fx. If you want that, try Revlon CS for normal skin. FYI I use this mousse if I want more coverage because the CS is super sheer. This also washes off super easy where the CS is SUCH a pain to wash off! And if you like a poreless finish and want a mouse texture, you can also try L'oreal Magic Smooth Souffle, that never cakes and is a bit fluffier in texture therefore it's easier to apply. I actually prefer that one to this as far as application but this one has a more powder-y finish. I took one lippie off because the color selection isn't the greatest, I have to sort of mix two
Foundations -Cover Girl - Natureluxe Liquid Silk Foundation
misspris26 8/15/2011 1:15:00 PM
The color selection of this fx is decent, it blends VERY well, it's *very* sheer and has a dewy finish (I prefer matte). I didn't like how my face felt tacky to the touch but my loose powder fixed that. I was pretty impressed until I realized I can't handle the dewy shine this leaves (keep in mind, it is NOT an oily shine AT ALL nor is it advertised or marketed towards oily skinned people)....it looks like skin, like you have no fx on so I really tried to keep using it. I may revisit this foundation in the future.
Top/Base Coats -Sally Hansen - SalIy Hansen Insta-Dri Anti-Chip Top Coat
misspris26 7/28/2011 6:28:00 PM
This is a life changing nail product!!! I have triedsoo many top coats and my np still chipped and peeled. Seche Vite peeled my manicure off in sheets.
