Lip Gloss -Love My Lips - Wet Shine Lipgloss in Palm Beach Pink
rated 4 of 5
melzie_fire 7/19/2004 1:49:00 AM

Wow, hafta say I was quite impressed with this gloss. Palm Beach Pink is actually kind of a slightly lavendarish pink with some shimmer that looks sort of MLBB. As rachel said below, it does have a pepperminty smell and a slight tingle, which *isn't* mentioned on the packaging and came as a surprise, lol. The gloss (which is a wanded gloss with a sponge tip) has a fair amount of pigment and is not sticky at all.

For less than $2 USD, you have definitely got to try these out! Really! :)

Lip Gloss -L'Oreal - Colour Juice in Glory
rated 4 of 5

This is such a pretty color! It does look kind of plummy in the tube with shimmer n' sparkle, but does go on a bit sheer on the lips. However, if it were very pigmented, it would probably be too "dramatic" for me, so I'm happy with it. The glitter is really noticeable, too, but not gritty and not over-the-top, IMO. It smells soo good, too, like black cherry or something. I've had a couple of CJ's and didn't really like them all that much, so I was definitely pleased with this! Costs about $7-8 USD. :)

Foundations -Maybelline - Dream Matte Mousse
rated 5 of 5
melzie_fire 7/19/2004 1:41:00 AM

Wow, this is a unique product! :) It comes in a jar with a screw-top lid. The foundation inside really does look like mousse and feels very soft and creamy. Once you put it on, it feels smooth and sort of velvety, very nice! It gives good coverage, too, at least medium and maybe full. This is my first day of trying it, so I may have to update, but so far I am pleased! :)

Lip Gloss -Revlon - Lipglide -Sheerly Cherry
rated 3 of 5
melzie_fire 6/28/2004 11:06:00 PM

This is a pretty gloss. It is very sheer, which is nice, since I don't look very good with dramatic red lips (IMO) so I'm always searching for something to give me a hint of red -- kind of that berry stained look. This works pretty well. It's not perfect, but very nice. It's not sticky and it gives me a hint of red, or it can be built up to add more color. I like this pretty well, but I probably wouldn't repurchase (and probably won't be able to since I do believe it's LE).

Costs around $7-8 USD.

Lip Gloss -L'Oreal - Glam Shine -Goddess
rated 4 of 5
melzie_fire 6/28/2004 10:04:00 PM

This is a pretty pink gloss with a hint of gold undertone (IMO) and tons of silver glitter. The gloss isn't very thick or sticky; it goes on lightly with a slightly slippery feel and has a pleasant smell. You can feel the glitter slightly but it's not really "gritty" and doesn't bother me. This gives a slight shine.

Overall I think this is a pretty gloss and I would repurchase (that is, if I ever finished a lip gloss, which I don't. lol) Costs nearly $8 USD.

Eye Shadow -Revlon - Wet/Dry eyeshadow quad-In the Garden
rated 5 of 5
melzie_fire 6/28/2004 1:30:00 AM

OK, so I end up hardly ever wearing eye shadow because I have oily lids and most e/s doesn't stay put. However, after spying this quad in the store and having my friend who was with me say it was her favorite, I went ahead and bought it but didn't have very high hopes. Well, I must say, I have been pleasantly surprised so far! The four colors are very pretty (pink, champagne, green, "black") and had very good staying power on me today. I haven't tried these shadows wet yet, and I'm sure they'll be great seeing as I like them dry so much! I would definitely recommend this quad, and I will be trying other Revlon shadows (I do believe these were my firsts!) :)

This quad cost around $6 USD.

Mascara -Rimmel - Extreme Definition
rated 3 of 5
melzie_fire 6/26/2004 3:04:00 PM

I actually kind of like this mascara. The comb applicator is neat, although like others have said, you do get quite a bit of product on it. Sometimes I just roll with it and comb it out as best as I can; other times, I wipe the wand down a little bit before using. Either way, it can give you nice, defined lashes and some length but some people may be turned off by the fact that you kind of have to work at it before you get the hang of it. I do like it; however, I probably won't repurchase.

Liquid -Sally Hansen - Pore Minimizing Makeup
rated 3 of 5
melzie_fire 6/26/2004 3:00:00 PM

I got this in creamy natural, and I think I need the lighter shade as this seems a bit dark for my fair skin. That being said, this seems like a fair foundation and does seem to work pretty well at minimizing pores. I'll have to give a better opinion once I get the right shade, but seeing as I'm willing to buy a different one, I must be impressed enough with it to try it again! :)

Costs around $6 USD if IRC.

Lip Gloss -Almay - Whipped Gloss - Candied Cider
rated 3 of 5
melzie_fire 6/26/2004 2:55:00 PM

The whipped glosses smell minty and come in a tube with brush-tipped wand. Candied cider is a pretty purpley/mauve color in the tube with glitter. On my lips, it is kind of a MLBB look with sparkle and some shine. These glosses are somewhat sticky.

Cost is between $5.50 and $6 USD.

Lip Gloss -Revlon - Super Lustrous - Sundipped Orchid
rated 3 of 5
melzie_fire 6/26/2004

This is a fuschia-colored lip gloss in the tube. On me, it looks like a bright, kind of purpley-pink with shimmer. The gloss itself is a bit sticky but not too bad. I put this on very sheer because I think it would be too bright on me if I layered it on very much. It's a nice gloss for summer, but don't think I'd repurchase. It's just a tad too "loud" for a somewhat lip shy gal like me. :)

Costs between $5.50 and $6 USD.

Lip Gloss -Isadora - Fruity Amazing Glaze - Coconut
rated 3 of 5
melzie_fire 6/25/2004 11:55:00 PM

This gloss has a nice, pretty true coconut scent. It is clear with shimmer & glitter, giving my lips a shiny, sparkly look. It is a bit sticky. The tube and slant-tipped applicator make for easy application! Overall, not a bad gloss for the price, which is around $5 USD IIRC. :)

I dunno if I would buy this again or not; probably not, but since I wasn't sure I left the box on "yes" for "would you buy this product again." :)

Lip Gloss -Revlon - Super Lustrous Lipgloss - Nude Lustre
rated 4 of 5
melzie_fire 6/25/2004 10:39:00 PM

Nude Lustre is a nice gloss that really does appear nude on my lips. Mind you, it doesn't give me that nude look, more just a bit of amping up my own lip color and adding some shine. Very "MLBB!" These glosses aren't sticky, either, and have a nice, smooth consistency.

Costs less than $6 USD.

Lip Gloss -Bonne Bell - Smackers Roll-On Shiner in Cotton Candy Kiss
rated 4 of 5
melzie_fire 6/25/2004 10:36:00 PM

This is a pretty good gloss. It has a nice cotton candy scent, and the roller ball rolls fairly easily & smoothly, although it does get stuck from time to time. The gloss really isn't sticky and it gives a pretty good shine but not a super wet look. It's also fairly moisturizing!

Costs around $3 USD. I would recommend this! :)

Lip Gloss -Bonne Bell - Lip Shake Triple Swirl- Whipped Vanilla Cream
rated 3 of 5
melzie_fire 6/24/2004 12:50:00 AM

Well, this gloss smells wonderful, pretty much like a vanilla-scented whipped cream. However, like the other reviewers said, it comes out too frosty on your lips and is quite unappealing. If you put on just a *hint* of the gloss, it might look OK, but it's really too frosty/pinky/white for me. I gave it 3 lippies just because it smells so nice, but almost gave it 2 because it's pretty much unwearable. Oh well. I can't be too mad since it costs less than $3 USD I suppose. ;)

But I wouldn't buy this again! lol

Gels/Soaps -LUSH - I should Coco Soap [DISCONTINUED]
rated 3 of 5
melzie_fire 6/23/2004 11:49:00 PM

This is an interesting soap. I am not familiar with Lush products, and this is the first soap of theirs I have tried, thanks to a lovely MUAer (who has even reviewed this soap I noticed!) It has a unique coconutty scent, but it's not just coconut, it also has a hint of orange or something else mixed in. The coconut bits in the soap were a surprise (to me!) but pretty neat. I will have to try it as an exfoliator as others have mentioned. Overall, this is a neat soap with a unique smell. :)
