Eye Shadow -MAC - Naked Lunch

Neutral slightly pink beige frost, great for use as a wash. Great staying power and very buildable. The flip-top lid is much appreciated!

Eye Shadow -MAC - Shroom

Creamy champagne color, good for highlighting and as wash. Satin finish appropriate for day and night. Very good staying power, but not quite the color payoff I had hoped for, somehow. Love the flip-top lid.

Moisturizers -Avalon Organics Botanicals - Avalon Organics CoQ10 Wrinkle Defense Cream

Great moisturizer for me. I've been using it for just about one month now and have definitely noticed a change in my skin. My fine lines are less noticeable and my face just looks refreshed. I use a lot of this at each application because I have dry skin, but it always moiturizes enough. Lastly, that pump tube is fantastic!

Cleansers -Unlisted Brand - Target brand Cleansing Towelettes with Chamomile and Vitamin E
maylias 3/1/2009 4:42:00 PM
Best makeup removing towelette I've tried. I don't wear heavy makeup but it does take off my waterproof mascara quite readily. Leaves my face clean, fresh and ready for moisturizer. Nice and moist, too. I love using these at night when I'm too lazy to actually wash my face. It feels wasteful, but is it really more wasteful than soap and water?

Fragrances -Pacifica - Waikiki Pikake
maylias 12/15/2008 5:01:00 PM
This review is for the solid perfume version of Waikiki Pikake. In short: I LOVE it. It's a full and lush jasmine scent with a hint of wood in the background. The tin is lovely and very convenient for my purse. And it lasts for the better part of the day! Lastly, the price (I paid $9) just cannot be beat.

Moisturizers -Earth Science - Active Age Defense Hydrating Day Cream
maylias 11/12/2008 11:42:00 AM
I've been using this for a few days and love it thus far. It works well for my normal to dry skin, applying smoothly and sinking right in. It's nice and rich but not too heavy. I love the smell, which is almost unnoticeable but a little bit sweet. The price is right and I like the fact that Earth Science used recyclable packaging. I'll try to remember to update this at a later time after I've used the product for a longer period of time. UPDATE 04/27/09: Bored with this, I moved on.

Blush -Stila - Convertible Color Lillium
maylias 11/11/2008 2:54:00 PM
Nice cream blush. Works better on my normal to dry skin than does powder blush. Staying power is fine but not spectacular. Color is good for my light-medium neutral skintone. Useless to me as a lip product; too dry, too light, too matte. UPDATE 03/08/09: I find this hard to blend and so I stopped using it.

Moisturizers -Earth Science - Apricot Intensive Night Creme
maylias 11/11/2008 10:38:00 AM
I have normal to dry skin that's fairly sensitive and I love this moisturizer. Works great for day and night use. Somehow it makes my fine lines look less severe and lessens the redness that I sometimes see around my laugh lines. Nice glass jar and a great price, too! UPDATE 04/27/09: Kinda oily on top of the skin, but still a boost for fine lines.

Moisturizers -Weleda - Wild Rose Moisture Cream
maylias 11/11/2008 10:29:00 AM
Decent natural moisturizer for normal to oily skin. I didn't like how it feels a bit greasy and sits on my face for a while before sinking in. Also didn't really see any benefits like I do with some other moisturizers. Comes in a very nice metal tube that keeps the product clean and fresh, though! UPDATE 04/29/09: Super oily, never sinks in. I used the rest up as a hand creme. Deluxe in that capacity!

Scrubs -Queen Helene - Oatmeal N' Honey Natural Facial Scrub
maylias 9/14/2008 1:38:00 PM
This is one of the best scrubs I've tried. The particles are just the right size for deep cleaning and it has good moisturizing agents. It's gentle enough to use everyday and I'm addicted to using it but I try to use it every other day so as to not just exfoliate my face off. Love the smell, too! Oh, but the packaging could be better by making the cap a flip-top, because unscrewing it is annoying.

Pressed Powders -TheBalm - Sexy Mama
maylias 9/14/2008 1:35:00 PM
Very cute packaging, but it is cardboard nonetheless. Nice non-irritating powder, but I think it's just too drying for my combination skin. I use a very very light layer to even my skintone and it keeps me from getting all shiny for a good couple of hours, but of course it loses the battle as soon as things really heat up. Also, I do think it's settling in my lines just a bit. So yeah, not my fave, but not bad either. UPDATE 04/29/09: Powdery yet not good at absorbing oil. I don't get the hype, but then again, I have combo skin.

Eye Shadow -Origins - Underwear for Lids
maylias 9/14/2008 1:30:00 PM
I have Beige Gaze, a beige color with a slight sparkle to it. It looks nice alone or under shadow. It does make shadow stay put for longer, and shadows apply smoothly and are brighter with this underneath. However, it changes very slightly the color of my lightest shadows. Also, if I use too much, it creases. All in all, I prefer to use this as a natural-look eye shadow, rather than as a primer. Update 11/11/08: Nothing special and the product broke off in tube within days of purchase. I will not buy again.

Eyeliner -Clinique - Quickliner for Eyes in True Khaki
maylias 9/14/2008 1:25:00 PM
Nice olive eyeliner with good staying power. Looks nice with neutral shimmery shadows like Stila Starlight. I like a more natural look and this is a great way to define my eyes without looking overdone. One sour note: I just bought my first one and have been using it for just two days, and I think the packaging may be broken already! Update 11/11/08: I find these difficult to apply in a light line. Will not repurchase.

Mascara -Clinique - Naturally Glossy Mascara
maylias 9/14/2008 1:22:00 PM
Great mascara. Doesn't irritate my sensitive eyes, stays put, doesn't smudge and has a nice natural look and feel. Lengthens and separates, but does not add much volume, although it does layer nicely. Nice heavy simple silver tube, too!

Lipstick -Clinique - Almost Lipstick - Black Honey
maylias 9/14/2008 1:19:00 PM
This color is good for my neutral fair-medium skintone, and I can layer it easily. It feels really nice and moisturizing, more like a lip balm than a lipstick. I think that several companies have similar forumulations available and so I don't think it's a miracle product, but it does work well for me. Update 11/11/08: now that it's winter and my skintone is lighter, this seems to have a brown tone that I just don't like. Also, the formula doesn't apply evenly to my lips for some reason; I sort of have to work it in with my finger. Lastly, the tube broke soon after purchase. I'm not thrilled.
