Cleansers -Cetaphil - Gentle Skin Cleanser
manamana 1/13/2012 5:36:00 PM
I had not experimented with my face wash in a while and after hearing so many people recommend this as a great/safe product, I decided to give it a try as well. The packaging is nothing to write home about but the product itself as great. I don't have sensitive skin but I imagine this would be great for those with skin like that. I like that it is gentle and doesn't leave my skin feeling stripped. It does however, leave my skin feeling very clean. I use it twice at night. Once after using makeup remover, and then the second time with my Olay pro-x cleaner. You get a really good amount of product too! Definitely think I may go back to this over and over again in the future.

Misc Beauty Tools -Olay - Professional Pro-X Advanced Cleansing System

Over the last course of the last year, I have been trying to improve my skincare regimen as I am 23 and want to take care of my skin now rather than try to repair it much later. I have been really good about always washing my face in the morning and before bed, but I have been interested in taking even better care as of late. Along with trying various other products, and starting to use a night cream, I decided to purchase this product after a lot of thought and research. I actually almost bought the product once, and then had to go online some days later to finalize the purchase but I am so glad that I did! This cleans my skin so well! I use it almost every night after I remove my eye makeup, and wash my face with cleanser once with my hands and water. It does an amazing job of removing any residual makeup (I was so grossed out to realize how much makeup used to be left on my face before using this!). It leaves my skin feeling especially soft and smooth. Putting on my night cream after this seems like a major bonus because it seems as if my skin absorbs it even better! You can't go wrong with the price of this product, although I am intrigued by what the clarisonic may be like. Maybe somewhere down the road, I'll give that a try. I have never used this in the shower so I'm not sure about the complaints about it not being water proof, but from whatever water has gone on to mine so far I have not had any trouble. The batteries also seem to last a long time, which was something I was first worried about (I've had mine in for a good 2+ months now).

Polishes -Unlisted Brand - Pure Ice - Watermelon Ice
manamana 1/13/2012 5:10:00 PM
I generally never repurchase lipsticks/nailpolishes, because I feel like there are so many out there to try, but this has been a rare exception. I actually went well out of my way to purchase this for a second time, and I absolutely love it! When I first bought this I was rather surprised I did because it isn't the sort of pink I would ever imagine myself wearing (since I don't have a very fair complexion) but it works out great. The quality of this product is great. It is smooth, and easy to apply 2 coats of quickly. It also dries quick and doesn't chip too quickly. This is one of my go-to nailpolishes to wear day to day. I like having a couple of polishes that I can depend on to be flexible and somewhat long wearing. It's such a soft, gorgeous pink! I think it would look good on anyone. So girly and classy.

This is my first glitter polish and I am officially hooked! I love how long this product wears and I've received SO many compliments whenever I've worn this-love it! The price is awesome, and the quality is also great. I had to play around with it for some time, topping it over a range of colors before I was satisfied but I never gave up because I loved the way it looks in the bottle. I now wear it over a dark purple nailpolish and it looks gorgeous! It is just so fun and festive and I don't have to worry about chipping for a while. :)

Lipstick -Maybelline - Color Sensational- Sweet Nectar
manamana 1/13/2012 4:16:00 PM
I bought this on a whim over 2 years ago and mine still does not smell rancid (as some people seem to have experienced after just purchasing the product). It is a very earthy, wearable pink color that can pop on the lips of anyone with a lighter complexion, and look more natural on someone with a bit of a darker complexion (like myself). I have a lot more of this product to get through, but I generally top it off with a lighter lip gloss. I don't plan on repurchasing this because I generally tend to enjoy experimenting with what is out there but I really have no complaints. It isn't too moisturizing, but it's not too drying either.

Lipstick -Maybelline - color sensational broadway bronze
manamana 1/13/2012 4:11:00 PM
I bought this lipstick over 2 years ago (and still have plenty to get through) on a whim. I wanted something brown-ish nude and this worked out great. It looks great with my olive-ish complexion. I generally top it off with a lighter lip-gloss (often nude/light pink) and I love how it makes my lips look sort of pouty. I'm not crazy about lipsticks but this isn't too drying (not the most moisturizing either though). There's plenty of product and although I've had this for a long time, it still doesn't smell and works just fine. :)

Bronzers -Rimmel - Natural Bronzer - 027 Sun dance
manamana 1/13/2012 4:05:00 PM
I bought this last summer and at first wasn't too impressed. I used this as a bronzer on my cheeks, and finally decided (accepted, really) that it made me look muddy and not glowy (as I have an olive-ish complexion). However, now although I don't use this on my cheeks, I use it on my jaw bone/chin/neck area to even out my glowy/tan look and it looks great. I know to some that sounds like a lot of work to have a seperate bronzer for a different part of my face but it really works out great for me! I'm not bothered by a lot of the complaints of too much shimmer. I think too much of a matte bronzer would just look gross on me. The product is a great price, and has great pigmentation. I plan on repurchasing this since it has become such a staple in my beauty routine and is such a great deal!

Blush -Laura Geller - Blush n Brighten Como / Portofino
manamana 1/13/2012 3:59:00 PM
I only started using blush last year as I have an olive complexion and find blush to be a little tricky to like, personally. But I have been enjoying some blush in my routine and recently decided to play around with this one. I have to say, the pink in this is very subtle and the shimmer although very well-done, and not too over the top can be a bit much for an all over look. Therefore, I tend to use this as a highlight over my cheeks. I lightly swirl my blush/highlight brush through the entire compact (not just the highlight) part and lightly dust it over the top of my cheeks. I think the combo of the highlight, and the soft pink makes the highlight soft and subtle and really quite romantic! I think this could work great for lighter and darker skin tones as well. You probably don't want to use this as your blush (unless you have a very light complexion, maybe) solely since it is quite shimmery.

Lips -Revlon - ColorBurst Lip Butter in Peach Parfait
manamana 1/13/2012 3:50:00 PM
I have been dying to try these out ever since I started watching/reading reviews about them online. I'm not really big on lipsticks, so tinted lip balms/lip glosses are what I usually go to. I decided to go with a safe choice because I generally wear natural/nude-ish shades. This is very sheer and if you are a little darker like myself, this won't show up much at all. It really just comes off as a shimmery, slightly peachy lip balm, but I'm not complaining. I absolutely love the way this product feels-so moisturizing! I was a little disappointed with how little you get for the price, but the packaging is great. I look forward to trying some different shades in this line at some point in the future (since I usually get through lip products very slowly).

Lip Gloss -Cover Girl - Fruit Spritzers-Watermelon Splash
manamana 11/25/2011 8:13:00 PM
I bought this on a whim but really don't care for it. The scent is pleasant, but the consistency of this is too runny for my liking. I do not expect a lot of staying power from lip glosses but this one is exceptionally weak in that department. It does feel moisturizing, on the bright side and is not bad for casual, everyday use as an alternative to simply wearing chapstick.

Lip Gloss -Revlon - Peony Colorburst Lipgloss 008
manamana 11/25/2011 8:09:00 PM
I rarely give products a 5 but this completely deserves it! I generally layer products on my lips. I rarely wear lip-liner (nude), but generally always wear a lipstick/lipshimmer and then top it off with gloss. For this reason, I really like lighter glosses that add some dimension to my lips and overall look. I had heard from a youtube guru's reviews that these glosses were great. When I first went to the display at my local Target I could not remember which exact shade/color the youtube guru had suggested but decided that this seemed like a great option. Boy was I right? Where do I begin? I love the packaging of this product-it is so clean and classy. There is generous amount of product and although I had never used an applicator like this before, I really like it. A little goes a long way with this product as it is slightly thick, but it is not sticky. The color is the prettiest peachy pink, and I think would look great on anyone. I have a tan complexion and wear this everyday on top of a nude-ish/warm lip shimmer from burt's bees. I love the look! It is very simple but clean cut. I wear this also when I go out with more dramatic eye looks. Over all, I think this is a great product! I may try some other color from this line in the future as well.

Lip Gloss -Maybelline - lip polish in sweet blush
manamana 11/25/2011 8:03:00 PM
I picked this up randomly a few years ago. I did not own any colored glosses, and wanted to layer them with lipsticks for a more diverse look. I picked this one (and another that I finished using earlier this year, and can't remember) up quite randomly. Mostly because it was a light color and I thought it would work well to top on a darker lip color. It works well for me for that very reason. I would never wear this alone but that may be because I also have a deeper complexion and this would look strange on its own. I love the consistency of the product, as it isn't too oily or slimy/sticky. I don't regret buying it, but I probably will experiment with some other options in the future.

Lip Treatments -Burt's Bees - Lip Shimmer
manamana 11/25/2011 7:59:00 PM
I have tried 3 of these lip shimmers and love them! I was first impressed with one that I bought that I accidentally destroyed when I pulled a lot out and then tried to put the lid on without realizing what I was doing! Silly silly me. When I eventually went to pick up a replacement, I wasn't sure which one I had before and so picked up 2 different ones that I thought would work similarly. I was wrong! The colors on the caps can be a little misleading, but I've come around and loved them both. I love how moisturizing these are while also being very pigmented. They take away the intimidation and drying factor of lipsticks. I always top mine with a gloss and love the way it looks/feels. I have one in watermelon which looks kind of nude on me (but is a little warmer) and looks great with a light lipgloss on top. The other one I have (the name escapes me) is a lot darker, but great for a more dramatic lip look.

Styling Products -Victoria's Secret - So Sexy Straightening Hair Gel
manamana 11/25/2011 7:51:00 PM
Let me begin by saying that my hair is ridiculously difficult to straighten, and even more difficult to keep straight. Every year (I only straighten my hair when in the winter time) I am always on the prowl for some great haircare products. Products to help straighten my hair, tame it and of course take care of it after all of the abuse my hair endures. I picked up a couple of these 'gels' a long time back on sale. I am a sucker for the VS sales, and love splurging on their beauty line products when they are on sale because they are at a great price and I have found them to be above average, for the most part. This gel was no exception. I had tried some drug store straightening gels prior to this but had never truly been impressed. This product felt amazing as soon as I squeezed some of it out (you don't need a lot) and as I worked it through my damp hair, it made my hair feel glossy and soft. I really loved using this product because of how soft and glossy it would leave my hair. I am down to half a tube now (I had 2 or 3 tubes) and am sad to realize that they no longer offer this product. I have also moved on to trying/using other products, so who knows what I'll find next. Great product though!

Eyeliner -Cover Girl - Perfect Point Plus Eyeliners
manamana 11/25/2011 7:44:00 PM
I bought one of these a really long time ago, and also got a free one with a mascara at some point (which is still un-opened). I don't think these are terrible, in fact I can imagine plenty of people liking them but they really aren't very useful to me. I am not really a big fan of pencil eye-liners, but recently (more so to finish the ones that I have), I have been using them to line my lower lash-line. I think it is a nice casual look, as opposed to wearing gel-liner. This liner seems to smudge easily in my experience, so I usually work some on to my lash line and then smudge it along with my finger to kind of set it in. I do not wear it on my lid because the few times I have, it looked like a mess. Although, I suppose if topped with an eyeshadow, it could work for a smokey eye look. I also do not recommend this for the water line because it has zero staying power. So pretty much, I will probably be using the 2 I have for a long time because I only use them on my lower lash line. They are not awful for the purpose, and the fact that they don't need to be sharpened is quite convenient. I have them in a dark grey color which I usually would not buy, so that may also be a reason why I don't care for them much.
