Eye Shadow -MAC - Sushi Flower eyeshadow
magnifiquee 2/3/2013 6:56:00 PM
I was automatically drawn to this colour because it is a beautiful and bright pink in the pan so I bought it. When I swatched it I liked the colour but once I actually went to apply it it was only okay. It was kind of patchy and I had to pack a lot on to get a decent colour. I tried it with just primer and with an eyeshadow base and I didn't know how to make it look nicer. Maybe someday I'll find a good way to use it but for now it's just going to sit in my kit and collect dust. I love MAC but this is a disappointment.

Hair Styling Tools -Farouk CHI - Chi Ceramic Flat Iron by Farouk
magnifiquee 2/3/2013 6:15:00 AM
A quick description of my hair: thick, wavy and curly. This straightener works really awesome in the first couple of months and then it goes to pure garbage. I have gone through, and I kid you not 5 of these. I would go back to my salon and just exchange it for a new one and then eventually I just gave up and they even told me since the demand for these irons are so high the quality of them has decreased significantly. My first chi was amazing until it just never turned on again, my new ones all snagged onto my hair breaking it off, and I had to go over my hair a lot to get it pin straight. ALSO it took me literally 2 hours to straighten all of my hair which is pretty ridiculous because my new iron takes me about 40 mins now. I would never recommend this to anyone who loves their hair because this seriously ruins it and it is a waste of money because they constantly just die out of nowhere.

Polishes -Essie - Blue Rhapsody
magnifiquee 2/1/2013 2:18:00 AM
I can't believe this polish isn't in the database, so I just had to add it. Blue rhapsody is a gorgeous metallic blue colour by essie. I am not really a fan of metallic colours because they show every ridge and imperfection in your nail but this colour is just too beautiful to not wear. It kind of reminds me of Cinderella in a way if that makes sense, just the blue of her dress, it's stunning. Like many Essie polishes it doesn't chip and you honestly only need one coat or two with this to get a fully opaque application. I would recommend this to everyone it's just beautiful.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Sumptuous Olive (Veluxe pearl)
magnifiquee 2/1/2013 2:12:00 AM
I adore this eyeshadow, I think it may be my favourite one of all time. It is a gorgeous olive gold green colour that goes sooo well with my NC25 skin. It is a veluxe pearl formula so you know it's going to be soft and blendable and velvety, just perfection and not too much shimmer. It goes well with so many colours, my current favourite look is sumptuous olive on the lid, wedge in the crease and brun in the outer v. It can be worn in the daytime as a simple wash on the lid or you can really make it sultry and smoky for night time with a dark crease colour. It goes well with my brown eyes especially, it brings out the little tinge of green I have in them. I can't describe how amazing this shadow is and once I finish it you bet I'll be out to buy another one. I'd recommend it to anyone who is a little scared of trying out greens because it is a little darker and golden so it's a good starting point, and it is very versatile and flattering. 5/5

Scrubs -St. Ives - Apricot Scrub
magnifiquee 1/31/2013 4:55:00 PM
This is my favourite store exfoliant, it smells really nice and is very inexpensive. I have sensitive acne prone skin and this really helps balance my skin out when I've had a bad break out, it makes me feel really fresh and smooth. I do only use it once or twice a week because it is kind of harsh on my sensitive skin, I also use it on my underarms before shaving and it REALLY helps get a good close shave and lessen the shadow under my arms. And I also use it on my lips when they are feeling flaky. Make sure to moisturize your face after you use this because it could get you really dry, especially in the winter! But I buy tubs of these all the time and they last forever, love it, I'd recommend this to everyone.

Bronzers -MAC - Mineralize Skinfinish in Give Me Sun!
magnifiquee 1/31/2013 4:36:00 PM
My first MAC bronzer purchase ever. I am a NC25 and I use this to warm up my face and contour it. I use it in the hollows of my cheeks, on the edges of my forehead and right under my jawline. You need to use very little of this product to get a beautiful glow, but my main concern with this is that it is VERY easy to go overboard with this. If you ever do go overboard just use some face powder over it and blend it out, but it does get kind of annoying. At first I thought it was a little too expensive but I have had this bronzer for a long time and it does look untouched so it is worth the price. Maybe next time I will go for a bronzer that is a little bit lighter so it's more buildable, but I do love this and use it almost daily and would recommend it to someone maybe a bit tanner.

Eye Shadow -MAC - MAC Brun Eyeshadow
magnifiquee 1/31/2013 4:16:00 PM
A nice, dark and rich matte brown colour. It has a nice soft finish and it is easy to blend. I used to use carbon to fill in my really dark brows but I felt like it was way too harsh for me. I asked the MUA at MAC what she thought would look good on me and she suggested this. I love it so much, it matches my brows perfectly without making them look too harsh like carbon did. It is also a great colour to deepen the crease of your makeup with or if you want a smokey brown eye look you could use it in the crease. It is a very versatile colour and I'd recommend it to anyone.:)

Eye Shadow -MAC - Ricepaper Eyeshadow
magnifiquee 1/18/2013 3:00:00 PM
My number one go-to eyeshadow for any occasion. It's a really pale sandy gold colour that goes well with SO many other shadows. I wear it during the day with it all over the lid, wedge in the crease and nylon on the brow bone. At night time I do the same combo with something darker in the outer-v like sketch, brun or something shimmery and dark like woodwinked. I also use this as a highlight on the brow bone or lightly sweep it over my cheekbones as a highlight. I think it would suit any type of skin tone, I'm an NC25 and it looks amazing. I hit pan with this eyeshadow and I've never done that before with any other colour lol. I'd recommend this to anyone that wants a nice light and beautiful eyeshadow colour that's flattering. :)

Fragrances -Bath and Body Works - Be Enchanted
magnifiquee 12/28/2012 2:06:00 PM
I love Bath and Body Works anything and one day they were having a sale when you buy 3 lotions you get 3 more for free so I saw this and was immediately drawn in by it! The packaging is standard BBW bottles but the label is so cute and fairy tale-like! The smell is really light and pretty and I always seem to grab it from my huge selection of lotions. It isn't too greasy and absorbs into the skin well and is a good moisturizer! The smell lasts for a while too which is nice as well, and it isn't too overwhelming of a scent. I will definitely be buying this once I run out of it :)

Hair -Unlisted Brand - Coconut Oil
magnifiquee 12/19/2012 2:26:00 PM
Oh coconut oil how I love you so. A while back when I was about 16 or 17 years old I got a really bad haircut and I mean BAD. I also was stupid and constantly straightened my hair and blowdried it and used harsh products on it all the time. My hair was dead, lifeless, dull and would NOT grow. I swear in 3 years my hair probably grew 1.5 inches. It was REALLY REALLY bad and I didn't know what to do. I tried taking biotin, multivitamins, olive oil, expensive repair masks and they only did so much to my hair. I was looking up what would be really helpful and I saw coconut oil. I went to the supermarket and saw a giant jar of it for $5 which is amazing since most expensive hair masks are $20+. I use coconut oil in so many ways, once a week I take the coconut oil, rub it between my hands and work it through my hair from the scalp to the ends and paying more attention to the ends because that's where most of the damage in your hair is. I leave it in for an hour or two and wash it out and then use normal shampoo and conditioner after. The first time I had tried it my hair was soo strong and bouncy feeling. I was hooked!! Another way I use coconut oil is combined with olive oil, honey and an egg yolk as a protein mask and it has made my hair stronger than EVER before. My hair in this past year has grown probably around 6-7 inches compared to the 1.5 it was before. I am so in love with this product and how cheap and easy to use it is. It has soo many benefits to the hair and really penetrates and moisturizes and helps repair. I would recommend this to anyone who is having trouble with their hair being dead and damaged, it really is holy grail status and I will use this forever.

Top/Base Coats -Seche Vite - Dry Fast Top Coat
magnifiquee 12/19/2012 2:15:00 PM
I can't stress enough how much I adore this topcoat. I used to use Sally Hansen's but that one didn't really glide on nicely and left an uneven coat on ugh. I went into Sally's and asked the girl that worked there what she would recommend and she told me to try this out! It was on sale for 2 for $12 which is awesome because usually just one bottle is that price. I'm not really worried about price since I have a pro sally card so I get quite a bit off it anyway. The packaging is alright, just a standard nail polish bottle but I really wish the brush was bigger like OPI's brushes are. It does dry up pretty quickly which kind of sucks and I had to take a lippie off for that. But you can use their restore product which is stupid since I shouldn't have to buy another product to keep my original one fresh. ANYWAY, this is a great topcoat it gives a great shine and leaves the nailpolish on for more than a week, I love love love it!! Would recommend :)

Lip Treatments -Carmex - Click Stick Original SPF 15
magnifiquee 12/19/2012 2:08:00 PM
When looking for a lipbalm I am usually a sucker for fruity smells and cute packaging. But I really needed something strong for the harsh weather in Canada during the winter. First off this lip balm is dirt cheap and lasts a long time since the formula is soo creamy and you don't need to reapply for hours like other lip balms! The packaging is alright, I like it better than the little tin where you have to stick your finger in. I feel as though the formula is a little too thick and creamy and it's hard to get the product out, you have to twist it quite a bit but it's really not that huge of a deal. At first I wasn't pleased with the smell, I like fruitier or vanilla scents when it comes to my lips but you do get used to it. My lips were flaking from the cold and no matter how many times I exfoliated them and used other lip balms they would still be flaky and dry. After using carmex my lips were SO hydrated and the flakiness went away with only 2 applications. This is my go to moisturizing lip balm from now on, it really is amazing and I would recommend it to everyone.

Eyeliner -E.L.F. - Cream Eyeliner - All Colors
magnifiquee 12/10/2012 8:52:00 PM
I just got this in the mail and I was SO impressed with it!! First off it is sooo cheap ($3) which is a great change from paying $22 for fluidline by MAC. The packaging is kind of chunky and ugly though, it would be nicer if it was more circular and compact because it gives the illusion of having way more product in it, I was really surprised with the amount of product inside when I unscrewed the cap. Oh well, it was only $3 so it's alright. The pigmentation is great and it has great lasting power, I have oily lids and it did not budge at all. I will definitely be buying this in all of it's other colours.

Lipstick -Revlon - Colorburst Lip Butter
magnifiquee 12/10/2012 8:47:00 PM
I can't even tell you how much I love these lip butters. The price isn't too bad, it is $10 in Canada but way cheaper in the US so I'd rather go there to buy them. The packaging is super cute and expensive looking, I don't like the clear top at all though it's tacky and fell out of one of my lipsticks :( So that's a bit unsanitary. Other than that, this glides on perfectly onto the lips and hydrates them at the same time. I own: -berry smoothie which is a "your lip colour but better" kind of colour and goes well with everything. -sugar plum which is a darker purple that is very flattering on my NC25 skintone especially in the nighttime -peach parfait which is a nice light peachy colour, my only gripe with it is the little pieces of glitter in it and i kind of feel them on my lips and I don't like that. -Sugar frosting which is a really cute sheer pink colour, don't use it that often though -Stawberry Shortcake which is a nice bright pink but I don't really feel comfortable wearing such a light pink on, I like darker colours better -Candy apple, I would definitely recommend this for someone who is too scared to try red lipstick, this is a great way to transition into it. It's a sheer red that reminds me of MAC's lady bug -Creme Brule: a nice nude brownish colour that's great for everyday use Overall these are a great product that both moisturize your lips and have good lasting power.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Carbon
magnifiquee 11/29/2012 1:22:00 PM
I'm not sure why there are so many bad reviews on this black, if you swatched it before you bought it you would know it's not going to be the blackest black. And I bought this shadow because I thought it was a nice extremely dark grey black colour and I wanted something less harsh than a really black colour. It blends pretty well and I usually use it to set liquid liners and as a lower lashline liner instead of a pencil and it has great staying power. I would definitely buy this again although I'm not sure when that will be because I have owned this for so long and have barely made a dent in it! Love it
