The commercial (tv spot) with gorgeous, hot JONATHAN RHYS MEYERS is the best of all :-). Cutest and sexiest man on the planet. He's the only reason why I'm interested in BOSS fragrances ;-)). JRM rocks!!!!!!!!!!!

Fragrances -Chanel - Coco
magnificent 6/2/2008 10:47:00 AM
I'm a huge fan of Opium, Obsession, Shalimar, Tabu, Youth Dew, Hypnotic Poison and the most legendary oriental fragrances! For me Coco is the best Chanel fragrance ever (I dislike No. 5, Chance, Coco Mademoiselle etc.). For my nose Coco is a wonderful mix between oriental and chypre. I love the delicious ripe plum smell spiced with cinnamon. Yummy and irresistible. Coco is an "aristocratic" and posh fragrance. Too fine and bold for everyday. A refined and high-class fragrance. IMO Coco is a suitable scent for a brainy and elegant lady. This well composed and well-balanced fragrance-beauty is a masterpiece and it is here to stay. A must have for all fragrance collectors.

Fragrances -Escada - Magnetism
magnificent 5/26/2008 11:33:00 AM
As I can see I'm in the minority with my one lippie-rating for Magnetism! But sorry MUA-ladies: Not yummy and irresistible!!! Maybe nice for the younger women and their untrained and "innocent" noses ;-). For my old nose it smells simply synthetic and linear. Boring - with a long-lasting drydown ;-). I can smell a similarity to "Angel" (which I don't like). I can understand that some ladies compare Magnetism with PINK SUGAR. But I like PS (!!) and find it a bold, interesting and innovative concoction with its burnt cotton candy smell. - Escada creates each(!) year a modern new fragrance. I don't like that. Escada think it over: Less is more.

Fragrances -Unlisted Brand - IL Profumo Chocolate
magnificent 4/3/2008 7:58:00 AM
No chocolate here, ladies! It has a boring, one-dimensional warm-sweet-fruity dry-down. No vanilla, no chocolate, not yummy. Sorry, the name "Chocolate" for this concoction is simply wrong!!! No lippie if I could!!!

Fragrances -Gres - Cabotine
magnificent 3/23/2008 6:24:00 PM
A green sharp floral. Very similar to TENDRE POISON by DIOR. Interesting and strong - but not for me. So I gave my bottle away. Both fragrances are love-or-hate-category.

Fragrances -Elizabeth Arden - True Love
magnificent 2/15/2008 10:38:00 AM
"A soft blend of watery florals including lotus, iris and jasmine." A floral-aldehydic fragrance! Today I tested TRUE LOVE for the first time, because it is created by Sophia Grojsman, a successful and wonderful perfumer/nose. She composed great and popular fragrances (Paris, Yvresse, Sun Moon Stars, Eternity, White Diamonds etc.) The wonderful smell of TRUE LOVE is very hard to describe, because all notes are so subtle and soft and well-balanced. TRUE LOVE smells clean, fresh, floral with a hint of lovely sweetness. It's elegant, feminine and cool like white satin. A young and cheerful scent for a bright bride in white :-). A "Don't Worry-Be Happy" fragrance!!!. Maybe similar to FIRST or SUNG or NUDE. Here are the notes for TRUE LOVE: Top Note: Peach, Apricot, Green Notes, Freesia (fruity-floral). Middle Note: Lily of the Valley, Rose, Jasmin, Heliotrope, Orris (floral). Base Note: Cedar, Sandal, Musk, Amber, and Vanilla (floral-powdery).

Fragrances -Elizabeth Arden - Green Tea
magnificent 2/13/2008 9:42:00 AM
For me GREEN TEA by EA smells aggressive(!!!) GREEN. A pleasant household-cleaner or bathspray. But not my imagination of a pretty and seductive woman fragrance. The ratings here are good, maybe some ladies like GREEN TEA to lift up their moods. Sometimes I like green, sporty and aromatic fragrances, but GREEN TEA smells tooooo artificial!! I prefer warm, inviting and sumptuous fragrances.

Fragrances -Fred Hayman of Beverly Hills - Touch (red box)
magnificent 1/23/2008 10:33:00 AM
My review is for "Touch" by Fred Hayman of Beverly Hills (1993) comes in a red velvet-like box. I can smell a similarity to Amarige (1991) by Givenchy. I can smell a similarity to LALIQUE (1992) classic too. But Touch by Fred Hayman for woman is a more feminine, inviting, creamy, balsamic, and warm fragrance. Not as fresh, crisp and *green* like Amarige. TOUCH is also an ultra-strong scent like Amarige!!! WOW - it stays for 24 hours! Let me say it's a heavy and strong diva-fragrance!!! Some ingredients in TOUCH reminds me also of Cabotine (1990) and Tendre Poison (1994). All these mentioned fragrances are not my faves (I love orientals and chypre scents), but I find them very unique and special. - So if you love these mentioned fragrances, TOUCH is worth a try. Meanwhile a hard-to-find-scent. Here a description by Jan Moran: "From the heart of Beverly Hills, Fred Hayman's Touch is an enchanting floral, created for the woman of adventure, intimacy, and mystery. Ingredients of clementine, jonquil, peach, musk, and vanilla combine to form a scent that bursts with optimism and femininity - ideal for the casual California lifestyle." Happy sniffing and hunting!!!

Fragrances -Trussardi - Donna
magnificent 1/15/2008 7:21:00 AM
*bmichlig* wrote a perfect review! Trussardi Donna classic (the snake or crocodile skin like white bottle!!) is a well hidden masterpiece. An unique, exotic and aromatic chypre from 1982 (the early 80's when fragrances have power!!). Not for beginners. Worth a try if you love vintage-chypre-scents (similar to Gucci No. 3).

Fragrances -Caron - Parfum Sacre
magnificent 12/26/2007 7:06:00 PM
The first impression after spraying: WOW - what a special fragrance! Strong pepper, roses and vanilla. Bold and unique. But the dry-down is not great. More a soft and subtle skin-scent. I have to put my nose near my wrist, to smell the scent. Staying power is not satisfying, so I gave my Sacré away.

Fragrances -Elizabeth Arden - Sunflowers
magnificent 12/6/2007 10:18:00 AM
I didn't like this watery/marine-fragrance when it was introduced. Similar to Escape, which I hate! But I love the happy Sunflower-ad!!! Meanwhile I like and wear Sunflowers when I'm in the right mood. Smells uncomplicated. Fresh. Aromatic. Clean and sunshine YELLOW :-). Staying power is GREAT. Sunflower gets compliments when I wear this "young and happy" scent. But this is not the important thing. A fragrance is the air I breath, so I must like it :-).

Fragrances -Bill Blass - Bill Blass (Original Version 1978)
magnificent 11/23/2007 3:51:00 PM
Today I tested this "dated" Bill Blass by Bill Blass (his first fragrance!) and I like the scent from the first sniff. A delightful surprise: Womanly. Inviting. Warm. A cross between Estee Super, Chloé and Yendi by Capucci. I can smell creamy tuberose and soft spices. Very pleasant and round. No sharpness - no disharmony. Cosy, well-balanced, ultra-feminine, and subtle. Here the following two descriptions for your info: Olfactive family: Floral. Olfactive description: Green Fruity Floral(Muguet, Mimosa, Hyacinth) Spicy(Cinnamon) Angelica Woody(Vetiver, Cypress, Sandalwood).---- Year Introduced: 1978. Top Notes: Galbanum, hyacinth, pineapple, greens, bergamot, geranium. Heart Notes: Iris, tuberose, carnation, ylang-ylang, orris Base Notes: Amber, sandalwood, benzoin, cedarwood, oakmoss. "From American designer Bill Blass comes a classic floral bouquet. Like his clothing designs, the fragrance is subtle, elegant...uniquely Blass. A feminine scent, featuring sweet fruits, florals, amber, and wood notes. Pineapple, bergamot, and greens pave the way for a heart of iris, tuberose, and carnation. A soft base of amber, sandalwood, and oakmoss will imprint itself upon your memory. An excellent choice for daytime or light evening wear.
