Mascara -Jordana - Best Lash Extreme Volumizing Mascara
rated 4 of 5

Would give it a 5 if it came in a dark brown or black/brown, I only have seen it sold in black, and I don't think black for mascara should be considered a basic shade, it's far too harsh for many people, black/brown would be better. Mascara itself is very good, it's both thickening and lengthening, gave me a false lash look with just one layer, seems to hold a curl well (I didn't have it on long enough to find out for sure), was easy to remove, and if it came in a shade I would actually be able to wear on daily basis it would be priceless to me.

Lip Gloss -Chanel - Giggle Glossimer
rated 5 of 5
magentaray 5/6/2012 3:49:00 PM

Discovered this almost a decade ago and since then haven't found anything better, ever though I tried to find a less expensive dupe. This is just perfect all around, color and formula. Very comfortable to wear, lasts (on me) longest of all other glosses I have ever used (I consider this to be more of a liquid lipstick, it's very pigmented and more subtly glossy than flat out shiny), creamy, not sticky, not drying, and makes my lips look fuller. Color is just right, MLBB, perfect balance of pink and brown, not too warm, not too cool, not too light or too dark. I tried all the high end and low end lip products that are supposed to be YLBB, and haven't found any that work for me as well as this. Very versatile, can't think of an occasion this wouldn't be right for. Very classy. Perfect for a job interview, or to pair with a smokey eye, first date, because it makes you look great without seeming like you are trying too hard, wedding, funeral, anything really. By the way, I tried Praline glossimer, which is supposed to be a European version of Giggle, or so I was told, and didn't like it. That balance of neutral pink and brown that makes Giggle so right for me wasn't there. It was a little too dark and too pink, made my lips look rosy, and this wasn't what I was looking for.

Misc Beauty Tools -Unlisted Brand - Salux Nylon Japanese Bath Towel
rated 5 of 5

Can't add anything new to all the raves, just co-signing. Love it, can't live without it, hope won't ever have to. Have used it for years, always gotten it in blue, light blue, or turquoise (mostly from amazon), texture of all the blue shades is perfect for me, haven't tried other colors, don't know if there would be a difference, I just get blue ones because they match everything else in my bathroom.

Misc Beauty Tools -Shiseido - Eyelash Curler
rated 5 of 5

I used Shu Uemura curler for years, it pinched my lids every time, but I didn't think there was anything better, tried drugstore ones before and they were worse. Three years ago I discovered Shiseido, and Shu was gone out of my life. Shiseido is flatter, not as curved as Shu and suits my eye shape much better apparently, because I never get a pinch. Curls as well as Shu, other than pinching I was happy with Shu as a curler itself, did a good job. Anyway, I used Shiseido for 3 years now, daily, and the pad is still as good as new and doesn't need to be replaced. Very good investment, my lashes are straight and droopy, and curler is a necessity, makes a huge difference.

Eye Shadow -Bobbi Brown - Long-Wear Cream Shadow in Bone
rated 5 of 5
magentaray 5/6/2012 1:14:00 PM

This is my boo. HG, staple, genius invention. It's light, my skin is fair, and this is the most perfect light shade for. I wish I found this exact same one in foundation and concealer. It's perfectly neutral, I wear it by itself, never tried to used any other shadow on top, so don't know how it is as a primer, but worn alone doesn't crease and doesn't fade on me (my lids are not that oily though). Not drying and doesn't feel heavy, like some cream shadows can. Very pigmented, have had the same pot for a couple of years, haven't made a dent (and it hasn't dried out or spoiled either; i apply it with a finger, but then lightly go over the top of the product in the pot with a clean tissue to remove the germs, I do it with my cream blushes too). My go to look is Bone on the lid, concealer under the eye, dark brown mascara, and sometimes I tight-line with BB Sepia gel liner (which I also have had for years and it's still good), and voila, clean, polished 'no make up' look.

Conditioner -Aubrey Organics - GPB Conditioner
rated 4 of 5
magentaray 5/6/2012 11:17:00 AM

Easy to rinse, unlike HSR and Swimmers. Easy to comb through, leaves hair soft. The only Aubrey conditioner I like. Rated 4 only because I have something I like more, and because this would be better in a squeeze tube.

Blush -Becca - Cream blush in Wild Orchid
rated 5 of 5
magentaray 5/4/2012 6:00:00 PM

Incredible product. Perfect, from the color to the texture to the packaging. Might seem expensive, but it's very pigmented and lasts a long time. Quality and color are worth it. On me it's a light mauvey pink, and totally natural, truly like it's coming from within. When I wear this I look rested and have a glow, it's got a gorgeous finish, not greasy or shimmery/sparkly, but not dry and powdery either, just natural and glowy. I feel like it takes years off my face, and accentuates cheekbones. I don't use bronzers or sculpting blushes/powers, but Wild Orchid seems to do for me what sculpting products intend to do. Hope it's always available, I haven't seen another shade like this anywhere, especially in a cream blush, and especially in a cream blush with such awesome texture. Mostly I've paired this with MAC mauve lipstick with Chanel Glaze glossimer on top, or with L'Oreal Jelly balm in Succulent. I mean it can go well with many lippies and glosses, these just have been my favorite.

Blush -Illamasqua - Cream in Promise
rated 5 of 5
magentaray 5/4/2012 5:23:00 PM

HG! Fair neutral skin here, perfect shade of light pink, looks extremely natural, decent lasting power, no break outs, creamy, pigmented, easy to apply and blend (have Bobbi Brown cream blush in Pale Pink which looks the same on me, but it's harder and waxier in texture than Illamasqua so I don't reach for it that much). Good amount for the price, and since it's very pigmented only a little is needed so it lasts a long time. Gave packaging a 4 because I would prefer if it was round instead of square.

Concealers -Revlon - Age Defying Moisturizing Concealer (New) [DISCONTINUED]
rated 5 of 5

I love this concealer so much I bought enough of them from amazon (where it's half price of what it is in stores) to last me years (should be ok kept in the freezer). I use this is in the lightest shade and it's perfect for me, comes out looking yellowish but looks neutral on skin. Covers well both dark circles (although mine aren't that bad and to be honest if they were this wouldn't be enough), and whatever redness I have. Don't know how moisturizing it is, I apply this to already moisturized skin, but it's not drying and not cakey, doesn't crease, very smooth and easy to spread, last all day long. Great SPF, great packaging, nice amount of product, very little is needed and one tube lasts forever, I doubt I'll actually use up all the ones I stocked up on. The only concealer I truly loved before this one, although I tried many, was Maybelline Great Wear, demise of which I mourned for years. This one is almost as good (I think Maybelline was a bit thicker and had a little better coverage).

Conditioner -Aubrey Organics - Honeysuckle Rose
rated 1 of 5

As slimy and hard to rinse off as Swimmers. Didn't do anything special for my hair, but even if it did I wouldn't use it again, considering what a hard work it is to rinse it out and how long it takes.

Conditioner -Aubrey Organics - Swimmer's Normalizing Conditioner for Active Lifestyle
rated 1 of 5

Tenacious slime! Took forever to rinse off, I kept trying to until hot water was gone. Comb that I used to comb it through was also slimy and it was hard to get it clean. After it was finally rinsed off (not all of it, some still remained in some parts, I just gave up) my hair felt squeaky clean, like after a shampoo and not conditioned or soft. Will not use this again.

Blush -Revlon - Photoready Cream Blush
rated 5 of 5
magentaray 5/2/2012 4:59:00 PM

Got Flushed at the current Walgreens BOGO sale, along with Photoready mousse foundation, ended up paying 20 and change for both, so not bad, can't complain about the price, ds sales happen often, so no reason to ever pay full price. Packaging is nice, looks high end, I'd prefer a flip top lid though. Shade is the same as MAC Florida cream blush, Stila CC in Fuscia, Kevyn Aucoin Liquifuscia (and Benefit Benetint, which is a liquid, but same color, for reference), but I like texture of this much better, Stila and MAC are harder and waxier, and this is so creamy, soft and smooth, but not greasy and doesn't sit on top of my skin but looks like natural glow from within. Applying is a dream. I collect cream blushes and this is my favorite texture. Reminds me of Becca cream blushes (KA might have had nice texture too, don't remember, had it years ago). Shade is absolutely lovely. My skin is fair and neutral and I adore hot pink blushes, more than any other shade of pink. They make me look the best, healthier, younger and fresher, and when I wear them my skin somehow looks more even toned too, without any foundation. Staying power is all right, no worse than all the other creams I tried. Skin on my cheeks is normal, not oily or dry in the least, yet the only type of blush that last the longest on me is liquid/stain, and I won't mind reapplying this particular cream because it's just a pleasure to use. Intensity wise, even though it's very vivid in the pan, it's sheer and hard to over apply, for me at least; I put it on pretty generously, and then added some more, and it still looked light and natural. Would buy again. Wish they came up with more colors, out of 3 they have it's the only one I could wear, don't like the other 2, and it would be nice to have light pink, cool red, lilac/violet/plum...
