Concealers -NYX - Full Coverage Concealer Jar
madeupmary 1/16/2013 5:43:00 PM
A fabulous concealer from NYX. I bought this because it resembled the MAC Studio Finish concealer I had been using and wanted to see if it was a cheaper dupe. Not only is it a good dupe, it's actually better than the MAC one. The MAC one I can't use on my under eye area because it creases and looks terrible, whereas this one I can. The only disadvantage it has over a liquid concealer is you have to use a separate brush but for full, flawless coverage you can't go wrong with this.

Concealers -Rimmel - Wake Me Up Concealer
madeupmary 1/16/2013 5:40:00 PM
A great concealer from Rimmel. I bought this concealer on a whim, not expecting great things, but it is a really good, full coverage concealer that works for both under eye circles and spots. I own quite a lot of concealers but keep coming back to this one because it's so versatile.

Concealers -Collection 2000 - Illuminating Touch Concealer
madeupmary 1/16/2013 5:38:00 PM
Another great concealer from Collection 2000. Whereas the Lasting Perfection one is better for covering blemishes, this one is great for the under eye area. I have tried lots of these concealer pens and this one is the most illuminating. Again, my only downside is that the writing wears off the side of it.

Concealers -Collection 2000 - Lasting Perfection Ultimate Wear Concealer
madeupmary 1/16/2013 5:36:00 PM
A great drugstore concealer. I bought this after seeing lots of beauty bloggers raving about it, and all the hype is true. The only thing is I find it slightly too heavy for under the eyes, but it's perfect for covering spots and blemishes. The only thing I don't like about it is the packaging - I have bought 2 or 3 of these and the writing rubs off all of them!

Concealers -E.L.F. - Tone Correcting Concealer
madeupmary 1/16/2013 5:34:00 PM
This is a great concealer, especially for the budget conscious. I have terrible dark circles and this product covers up well and also gives a luminosity to the skin underneath my eyes. As I am very pale I order the colour Ivory, which is a perfect match for me. It contains the same sweet orange smell as the Tinted Moisturiser, which some people may not like but I can overlook this for the price of it.

Brows -E.L.F. - Eyebrow Kit
madeupmary 1/16/2013 5:31:00 PM
I was really hoping to like this product, especially after the great reviews here. However, the wax made my brows look too full and like they had been painted on. I have tried using less wax but I still get the same results. I think this is because I already have relatively thick brows and just need an eyebrow product to fill in any sparse areas. I reckon this product would be great for those with thin brows, but unfortunately not for me.

Palettes -Superdrug - MUA Starry Night Palette
madeupmary 1/16/2013 3:14:00 PM
I liked this eyeshadow palette, but I do prefer the MUA Undressed palette. The shadows are well pigmented and look lovely in the pan, but the purple and pink colors in particular look darker when applied to the eyes and don't really suit my coloring. Despite this I still use it quite frequently for the grey and silver colors, but I don't think I'd repurchase again because the top has snapped off mine despite being gentle with it and never dropping it.

Eye Shadow -Unlisted Brand - MUA - Undressed Palette
madeupmary 1/16/2013 3:10:00 PM
I love this eyeshadow palette. Why? 1) Many of the colors are similar to the Naked 2 palette but at a fraction of the price 2) The colors are all really pigmented 3) MUA is easy to get hold of in Superdrug stores in the UK and Ireland and online The only down point is the packaging isn't the most sturdy but for £4 I suppose that is to be expected.

Primer/ Corrector -BeneFit Cosmetics - The Porefessional
madeupmary 1/16/2013 3:03:00 PM
I love this primer because it actually does what it says - and that is minimize pores. It's not the best primer for smoothing out skin or making it more illuminating but it's the only one that actually works to minimize pores. Best of all you don't even need to use much of it, a pea sized amount is more than enough.

Primer/ Corrector -Nivea - Daily Essentials Express Hydration Primer
madeupmary 1/16/2013 3:01:00 PM
I did really like this primer, but I just don't find myself using it that often. I'm not sure it makes my foundation last any longer but it makes my skin looks so soft and gives it a natural luminance. The only things I don't like about this product is it does not contain an SPF and the box it comes in makes you think the bottle inside will be much bigger than it really is.

Primer/ Corrector -Revlon - PhotoReady Perfecting Primer (color 001)
madeupmary 1/16/2013 2:50:00 PM
I really wanted to love this primer because I like the Photoready foundation and because I love its packaging, however it just doesn't DO much for my skin. It doesn't give my skin a smoother base for applying makeup and it doesn't make my pores any smaller. The reason I haven't given it a lower rating is because it makes my skin feel really soft, but as a primer it doesn't do what I need it to.

Powders -Johnson & Johnson - Baby Powder
madeupmary 1/16/2013 2:46:00 PM
By far THE best dry shampoo I've used. I've used the Batiste and Tresemme dry shampoos as well as a few others and this is the only one that absorbs the oil really well and gives my hair some much needed oomph! The way I apply it is to sprinkle a small amount onto a hairbrush and simply comb through your hair - this ensures that you don't put too much on and end up with white coloured hair!

Primer/ Corrector -E.L.F. - Mineral Infused Face Primer
madeupmary 1/13/2013 7:38:00 PM
I love this product. Just as I was becoming disillusioned with ELF, thinking a lot of their products were rubbish, I came across this gem! It is a mineral primer which comes out as a colorless liquid, which doesn't seem to have much of a scent and helps to control oiliness on my skin. I have combination / dry skin so I only get oily through my T-zone, but this product works miracles on it and I use it everyday now. The main downside however is the packaging can be difficult to dispense the product as the pump often gets stuck in mine. ELF, please sort out your packaging dilemmas! Despite this I would continue to buy it anyway because I love it so much.

Cleansers -E.L.F. - Mineral Face Cleanser
madeupmary 1/13/2013 7:34:00 PM
I have been wanting to try this product for quite a long time now since I first saw it on the ELF website, so when I last placed an order I included this, not knowing a lot about it. It is a facial cleanser, but it is different from most cleansers in the fact that it is a powder! You simply shake a small amount into your hand and mix with water to form a light paste, which you apply all over your face. I have very dry skin and was worried that this might be a bit too stripping for my skin, but I was pleasantly surprised to see it wasn't. The reason I gave this such a low score is because I cannot abide the smell - it smells very soapy, much more so than any other cleanser I've used and as such I've only been able to force myself to use it a couple of times. One associates mineral products with much more gentle ingredients so I was really surprised that this smelt so chemically. It's an innovative product, I still haven't come across any other powder cleansers on the market but for me the smell was the deal breaker.

Highlighters -E.L.F. - Healthy Glow Bronzing Powder - Luminance
madeupmary 1/13/2013 7:28:00 PM
This product has surprisingly become a favorite in my makeup collection. I picked it up as part of a large ELF haul as you can't buy it in the shops in the UK so I usually place an order every couple of months and order a lot of products. I wasn't expecting much for only £1.50, but I love this. Just like the name, it really is illuminating. Although this is called a bronzing powder, I liken it more to a highlighter than a bronzer because it adds such radiance to my skin. The shade Luminance is very light and I actually use it as a contour as it is just a few shades darker than my natural skin tone. The fact that it is so light allows me to be more adventurous with my contouring (something to which I am new at) and allows me to create perfectly sculpted cheekbones without worrying about any tell tale lines or that the colour is too dark. The only downside is the packaging, unfortunately within a couple of week the top snapped off mine - I'd pay much more for this product if they just fixed the packaging!
