Foundations -Bare Escentuals - bareMinerals SPF 15 Foundation - Golden Medium

i've been using bare minerals since its inception and i switched to liquid foundation somewhere in the mid 2000's. i can get away with Golden Medium when im around NC40-42. i love that it has a yellow base, perfect for my tan, southeast asian skintone. Unfortunately i always break out from wearing BM and it always gets reallyyyy cakey around the creases (i have SUPER oily skin). its easy enough to use and doesnt look streaky but the container is just so wasteful and gets all over my hands, the floor, the mirrow when i tap the excess off. i see that they invented a compact but i dont love this enough to try that version. i still have a container i need to finish through but wont be repurchasing. yeah, i just took a look at my face and no bueno-my skin looks crepe- y!!

Conditioner -KMS California - color vitality color revitalizer
rated 4 of 5

natural ingredients in this are lilac and ginger, smells FANTASTIC! not sure if it worked any better than other DS conditioners so if i were to repurchase, it would just be for the smell of it. it comes out a light purple color. smaller bottle is about $15.00 bucks.

Shampoo -KMS California - Amp Volume

I got the newer version of this called "ADD VOLUME" in the green bottle w/black cap & hot pink lettering. it smells wonderful and is a clear shampoo (i figured it would be clear, like all the other ones that are clear to rid your scalp of build-up). the natural ingredients in it are eucalyptus and cinnamon. i dont see that my hair has extra volume compared to the DS clarifying shampoos i have tried but its quite nice. the smaller bottle is about $15.00. probably wouldnt buy it again only because you can use the suave clarifying shampoo & get the same results. you just wouldnt get the wonderful fragrance though! i would invest more money into the conditioner.

BB Cream -Smashbox - Camera Ready BB Cream SPF 35

Got this in Light/Medium and I am about NC40 right now. It looked DARK and i could not detect any golden tones in it and got worried. I have very tan, yellow undertoned southeast asian skin and this looked like straight up tanning lotion! and sure enough, when i put it on, it was thick as heck, streaky and made my face look SOOO ashy. that fake tan dark look some people get (instead of orange, they get that dark brown "dirty" look, not golden). very difficult to apply because of the thickness. returned and got bobbi browns skin foundation instead and im loving that one!

Liquid -Bobbi Brown - Skin Foundation SPF 15
rated 4 of 5

light coverage (not sure if buildable-haven't tried 2 layers yet), very runny, feels like a light moisturizer going on, doesn't accentuate dry patches. goes on so smooth and easy to apply (i like to apply with my fingers). i was matched to 4.5 Warm Natural and I am about NC40 right now. By summer i will be NC42 and can jump up to Honey (5.0). fantastic color match for my yellow undertone tanned southeast asian skin. i have extremely oily skin and by lunch, i was a bit greasy but i havent found a foundation that has lasted any better. Cliniques Matte foundation works really well but at the same time, its TOO matte and it leaves my face looking old and not natural. i'd rather look a bit dewy than dried up! really enjoying this foundation and going to try her long wear one next and after that, her new long wear compact foundation :)

Eye Shadow -Laura Mercier - Caviar Stick Eye Color - Khaki
rated 4 of 5
ltgee 3/19/2013 3:57:00 PM

im not sure if i would repurchase, will have to keep experimenting but for now this is what i think: its a beautiful khaki color, a dark forest green mixed with brown, i see gold flecks. its very difficult to get a precise line as the crayon is very creamy and glides on like butter. it doesn't set fast so you have time to smudge. oily lid gals definitely use a primer with this. i will update once i use this more but for now, its really nice, creamy and fantastic color payoff. you will have to use a brush to take some color off the tip if you want to use this as an eyeliner.

Mascara -Maybelline - Full 'N Soft Mascara Waterproof
rated 3 of 5
ltgee 3/18/2013 1:36:00 PM

UPDATE: taking 1 lippie off for the AWFUL chemical smell! the waterproof one is indeed waterproof, but lawd, the smell just goes straight up my nose and stings! keeping to the NON waterproof water next time-love that one! ------------------------------ ive tried both water proof and non and honestly, the NON has the formula i prefer. theres just something about the water proof one...i cant really put my finger on it, maybe its a bit more "dry"? but its not such a huge difference that i wouldn't buy it again if the water soluble one was out of stock. its still one of the best dang mascaras on the market for soft clump free lashes for an awesome daytime look! i would give the water soluble one 5 stars and this one gets a 4 :)

Mascara -Cover Girl - Professional Super Thick Lash Mascara
rated 4 of 5
ltgee 3/18/2013 1:31:00 PM

bought this off MUA reviews and i am not disappointed! would never have thought to buy this, its old fashioned packaging doesn't stand out amongst all the newer, brighter gimmicky mascaras these days. this was placed all the way at the bottom of the shelf so i could barely see it. this mascara is great! thickens my sparse asian lashes, is very black & barely any raccoon eyes (i have MAJOR oily eyes). this still cant beat my all time favorite maybellines full & soft but its a great one to have in your makeup arsenal. good stuff!

Cleansers -Darphin - Purifying Foam Gel
rated 3 of 5
ltgee 3/15/2013 4:01:00 PM

at this price point (about $38.00/4oz), i would not buy it again. it was comparable to my Philosophy Purity Gel Face Wash that i just bought for $22.00/7.5oz tube. same texture and same outcome. its a nice gel that foams up nicely with just a pea sized amount. i think you get better bang for you buck with Philosophy hands down and the quality is the same.

Fragrances -Lancome - Tresor In Love
rated 2 of 5

didnt work with my chemistry. smelled great upon application, slightly sweet & powdery but then morphed into just powdery and slightly like..."sweet farts". all day at work i kept asking myself, "did someone fart?" no bueno. lasted unbelievably long on me because it took me almost 2 days so scrub that scent off my wrists. 1 star for the bottle and 1 star for the staying power.

Cleansers -Philosophy - Purity Made Simple® Facial Cleansing Gel & Eye Makeup Remover
rated 4 of 5
ltgee 3/8/2013 2:07:00 PM

bought this from sephora for $18.00. the SA recommended this for oily skin gals like me. it is wonderful! i dont buy much from the philosophy line, just the triple acid pads. this face wash has me rethinking their other products! a little goes a LONG way with this gel. you need some pressure to squeeze out but thats better than the whole thing gushing out. i cant detect any fragrance and it takes off all my makeup and eye makeup W/OUT leaving my face feeling stripped! my skin feels so comfortable after the wash. i dont feel like i need to run and slap some face lotion on right away. great gel face wash and the price is tolerable, $18.00 for a 7oz tube.

Lipstick -Neutrogena - MoistureSmooth Color Stick in Fresh Papaya #20
rated 4 of 5
ltgee 3/6/2013 4:13:00 PM

i would buy this again but in a deeper color. the fresh papaya is a nice color but not much goes on in 1 swipe on my pigmented lips. i have to swipe it about 3-4 times to get some color. im pretty dark and my lips are a berry color naturally. its definitely more of a lip balm type. VERY moisturizing, smells yummy (like watermelon) and although i see slight shimmer on the crayon itself there isnt any on my lips. its a peachy pink color, perfect for a day at the office or casual weekend look. $6.50 at walmart.

Mascara -Unlisted Brand - Blinc Kiss Me Mascara Amplified
rated 2 of 5
ltgee 3/5/2013 5:52:00 PM

the only reason i am giving this mascara 2 stars is because i love the concept of tubing your lashes and there is NO raccoon eyes with tubing! i will not be repurchasing however because this gives absolutely ZERO volume and only a little bit of spiky length. and this is the AMPLIFIED version?! im scared to see what the regular version would do (or NOT do). the formula is SO dry that i cant even coat my inner baby lashes because nothing is coming off the wand! i swirled the wand around, this way and that way and nothing. it makes my eyes look like i only have lashes in the middle of my eyes and nothing on the edges. i DO love that i can wear it on my bottom lashes w/out smearing but really, for $25.00 bucks its just not worth it. i hope i can find another tubing mascara that is more "wet" and can catch the tiny lashes.

Eye Shadow -Bobbi Brown - Shimmer Wash Eyeshadow - Rose Gold #8
rated 5 of 5
ltgee 3/4/2013 3:35:00 PM

LOVE this! i am MAC NC35/NARS Stromboli/UD Naked Skin #6 (even in the winter im still pretty tan). this is gorgeous but very subtle on my lids. i used this as an all over eyelid wash and its beautiful. its shimmer formula but not the kind that looks tacky and full of chunky glitter. its buttery and smooth. i think i am going to use a cream colored shadow under this to intensify the color because im so tanned. the SA used the bobbi brown creme liner then swatched this on top and it was gorgeous and intense! will always have this color in my collection from now on, very flattering and true to its name. perfect for that sexy summer look :)

Fragrances -Philosophy - Field of Flowers Peony Blossom Eau de Toilette
rated 2 of 5
ltgee 3/4/2013 1:59:00 PM

i love peony scents and this does not fail to please. banana republic used to make this wonderful peony bubble bath but its discontinued now. ive been searching for a peony scent for years and so happy to have found this. i had 3 different men sniff this and all 3 of them loved it and thought it was "sexy and warm". ---> unfortunately it has zero lasting power, like all the other philosophy scents! :( why cant they formulate so it lasts? i love their fragrances but have never kept a bottle because nothing lasts more than 20 minutes on my skin. this is a return! bought the 2 oz at sephora, comes in a white bottle with a floral pattern (field of flowers) in front.2 stars for smelling wonderful but its pointless if it has no staying power.
