Eye Shadow -Milani - Desert Sun (01)
rated 4 of 5

On PPP/blue-eyed me, this color just didn't work. The pigmentation and lasting power seemed good, but I just couldn't wear it. If you've got the coloring for it, I think this would be another Milani winner, so I'm giving it a 4.

Eye Shadow -Milani - Deep Desire

So disappointing! Maybe I got a bad batch, but this stuff creased like mad on me and faded away within a few hours (as did Icy Plum). It would have been a very useful plum shadow, even an everyday staple, if it had any staying power at all. Unfortunately it was totally useless for me because it just disappeared (wet or dry, base or no base).

Eye Shadow -Milani - Icy plum

Yikes. Maybe I got a bad batch, but this stuff creased like mad on me and faded away within a few hours. It would have been a pretty and useful pale purple if it had any staying power at all, but I had to return it because if was totally useless (wet or dry, base or no base). For me, this was a loser from a line that has some excellent winners (Java Bean, Rich Chocolate, and especially Illusion).

Eye Shadow -Milani - Milani eyeshadow-moonlight
rated 3 of 5

On PPP/blue eyed me, this was a very faint purple iridescence. It's pretty and gives a kinda cool effect but I can't see myself using it much.

Eye Shadow -Milani - Java Bean (18)
rated 5 of 5

Another rave for Java Bean! As others have said, fabulous pigmentation, simply will not crease, great lasting power, fits MAC palettes perfectly. Excellent quality (and I'm a Shu/Chanel fan).

Eye Shadow -Milani - All
rated 4 of 5

In my opinion, this line is really hit or miss. The hits are fantastic, which accounts for the overall rating of 4. I've found that Java Bean, Rich Chocolate, and Illusion are super. They're highly pigmented and just don't crease. Amazing and worth far more than $2.99. Others, however, have been very disappointing. Deep Desire and Icy Plum are great colors, for example, but creased like crazy on me--wet or dry, base or no base. In the middle (for PPP me) were shades like Desert Sun (great pigment, just didn't work with my blue eyes), Mercury (a perfectly fine silver on me, but not the more complex grey I'd hoped for), and Moonlight (a very faint iridescent purple). Overall, a great line, and I'd happily try new colors...but only if I could buy from somewhere (eg Walgreens) with a generous return policy.

Eye Shadow -Milani - Illusion [03]

This is a lovely shade, but on PPP me it takes a lot of layering to get it to show up. Once it does, it's gorgeous, one of my HG items. This is definitely one of the first items anyone new to Milani e/s should buy.

Polishes -Revlon - Sheer Snowflake Pink
rated 3 of 5
longrunner 9/20/2004 9:56:00 PM

In the bottle this looked like a pretty sheer pink. On my nails, it's a pretty sheer pink--with glitter. Just a little glitter, mind you, but still waaay too much to make this n/p work as the subtle, professional look I was hoping for. I would give it a lower rating to satisfy my vengeful heart, except that now that I squint at the bottle again, I can sorta see the glitter, so I guess it's my fault for not looking closely enough. The "snowflake" probably should have tipped me off too. This is going back to the store.

Eye Makeup Remover -Almay - Moisturizing Eye Makeup Remover Pads
rated 1 of 5

Blech! Fool that I am, why didn't I listen to the little voice that whispered "Productville says nooooo" when I was standing in the aisle at Walgreens? I was sucked in by the fact that they call this stuff "moisturizing." Sure, if by moisturizing you mean bathing in mineral oil. For my dry-to-normal skin, this is way too oily. It's going straight back to the store in exchange for the non-oily Almay remover pads, which are much better. The moral of the story . . . P'ville always knows best.

Lipstick -Chanel - Aqualumiere Lipshine #34 Acapulco
rated 5 of 5
longrunner 9/16/2004 11:00:00 PM

I'm a cool PPP and Acapulco is a HG lippie for me. The scary bright pink in the tube turns out to be lovely and fun on my lips, a somewhat sheer "Barbie Doll" pink (as others have aptly described it) that I can easily brighten up with a few more swipes. The perfect summer lippie for me. I adore the texture of all the Aqualumiere lipsticks--they soften up my lips as well as my favorite lipbalm, with the bonus of great color choices. All of my glosses are sulking unused in my makeup case since these came out. Nothing else is as fun to wear.

Eye Shadow -Milani - Mercury [19]
rated 4 of 5
longrunner 9/16/2004 10:32:00 PM

Hmm, on me (PPP) Mercury is pretty much plain old silver, not at all the shimmery dark grey I was hoping for (based on what it looks like in the pan). Overall, a perfectly good e/s, but not what I wanted it to be. If you're new to the fabulousness that is Milani e/s, I'd try Dark Chocolate, Java Bean, or Illusion before this.
