Masks -Freeman - Feeling Beautiful - Facial CLAY MASK Avocado & Oatmeal
kikidoll27 4/1/2013 11:33:00 AM
I've always been hesitant to use face masks on my acne prone skin. Recently though, I've gotten the acne under control and have been trying to work on scar reducing...so I figured I was safe to try a mask. I've had this under my skin for a while now and decided to break it out after reading all the good reviews for it. It smells nice and has a lovely silky texture to it. After my shower and washing my face with my Purpose gently cleansing wash, I spread a decently thick layer of this all over and waited about half an hour. Then I washed it off and patted dry, and did the rest of my routine at normal. I can feel a difference already just in the way my skin looks and how smooth my makeup goes on. I used to use this reliegiously a while ago, and never had many issues with it. I'm not sure why exactly I stopped using it, maybe I just got too busy with homework, but I do plan to use this twice a week from now on, and leave it on while I do my homework. I will also try this as a spot treatment and update. Will I repurchase? Yes, but I also want to try the mint and lemon mask and a few more from this brand before I do.

Lip Treatments -Korres - Lip Butter
kikidoll27 4/1/2013 11:24:00 AM
I purchased this in Pomegranate. I have had my eye on this for a few months now, and finally stopped by Sephora in my local mall to scope it out. I was debating between getting the jar or the lipgloss version of it which is only two dollars more, but figured I had enough glosses, and if I did get a gloss, it would probably get shoved to the back of my makeup drawer. So I got the jar. The packaging is very cute and chic. It's easy to toss in my makeup bag and go, but very hard to apply on the go because if I take a lip brush, the excess will smear all over my bag, but if I don't and apply with my fingers, I have to casually wipe it off on someone I don't like, which can be tricky to do because I have to be reallly sneaky (heh heh, just kidding...sort of). I normally stick to applying it at home for that reason. But come summer, I know I'll use it more. I'm really glad I decided to pick up the color Pomegranate because I was originally looking at Jasmine, but the lady at Sephora said she preferred this one, and that she thought I would like it better too, so of course I got it. It was 12 dollars which I think is a pretty good price for a higher end brand. The product itself is very silky and it doesn't feel greasy on my lips. I really like applying it in the morning at letting it sink in while I do my makeup. It goes on a nice, natrual coral color that looks lovely aganist my fair skin. The only thing I don't like is that it only lasts for an hour or so. Overall, I really like it and will repurchase, and get the gloss version of this for on the go.

Lip Gloss -L'Oreal - Colour Riche Caresse Wet Shine Stain
kikidoll27 4/1/2013 10:56:00 AM
I've had my eye on this lipstain/gloss since it first came out. But the ten dollar price tag was a lot to me, since the tube is so small and I've seen a lot of negative reviews on this. My Mom and I finally got coupons for CVS, so I picked this and a few other things up. The color I ot this in is rose on and on. It's a really pretty pink rose color in the tube, but once on my lips it becomes a darker pink that's really pretty. I think what I like most about this lipstain/gloss is the texture and look on my lips. It's difinitely a wet shine stain. It's pretty wet and slippery, but sets in around a minute. I can build it up to really dark, or put on one thin coat for everyday and have it look really nice and natrual. The shince stays on pretty much all day along with the color. I really like this, and may pick up pick resistance. Not sure if I will though, because rose on and on was really the only one that caught me eye. UPDATE 3/11/13: This stuff lasts forever on my lips, without drying them out! And it definitely looks 'wet', as the name implies, but more of a wet stain vs a wet gloss. It feels comfortable on and looks really nice. The color actually oxidizes a little to a vampy dark pink boardering on a pink-red with a hint- and I mean a HINT- of violet in it, nothing too visible or scary (I can't rock purple lips), but enough to make my lips look, well, vampy. If you're looking for something longlasting, I cannot stress how long this lasts on my lips! It lasts for at LEAST six or seven hours, then it begins to gradually fade. But I think you could get away for wearing this for ten hours without needing to reapply. I only apply one coat of this, and I'm good for the day. Definitely a must have in my collection- I have nothing like this. And the packaging? Adorable. Oh, and also, it stays shiny all day. Unlinke those glosses that loose their shine after an hour or two and leave behind a stain, this keeps the shine for as long as it keeps the color. Awesome product!

Fragrances -Coty - Surprise by Heidi Klum
kikidoll27 3/31/2013 10:02:00 AM
I am an avid watcher of Project Runway. I take it past avid, and all the way to obsessed. So natrually when I heard that Heidi was making another perfume, and there was an entire episode of the show dedicated to creating an outfit for her to wear in the ads for it, I just had to have it. I stuck it on my list of thing to buy, and picked it up the next time I was at Kohl's. There are two types of Surprise: the perfume, which I believe was 28 dollars, and the body mist/spray, which was 9. Of course I bought the nine dollar one. The packaging of it is really cute. The perfume comes in a rectangular bottle with a black, pink, and gold 'ribbon' print on the glass. The body mist comes in a glass, almost cylinder shaped bottle, with a chic black cap. A sticker with the ribbons print is on the front. Now for the scent. It's a slightly musky floral, very fresh, clean, and fun...and slightly sexy and spicy. I really enjoy spraying it on every morning. A few squirts lasts all day on me, I can still smell it lingering on me at the end of the day. Bottom line: I love this perfume! I think I've found my HG. If you haven't already, definitely give it a squirt next time you take a walk down the fragrance isle.

Scrubs -L'Oreal - Go 360 Clean Deep Exfoliating Scrub
kikidoll27 3/29/2013 5:16:00 PM
I used this scrub for a while about a year and a half ago. Back then, my skin would generally get one blemish a week, but no scars would be left behind. I got this to 'deep clean' my skin twice a week. I remember there being a scent- a strong one -but I liked it. Now, however, I am hesitant to put anything that is this strongly perfumed on my skin. See, about six months ago, my skin had a really bad breakout on my left cheek from using the St. Ives scrub. It was really terrible, and I still have scars from it. But after that breakout, I would get new blemishes on my left cheek, where I didn't used to break out. I would not repurchase this because I have just gotten my skin under control again, but I did like it and would reccommend it. It did a lovely job at buffing off any dead skin, and the scrublet it came with worked well to remove my makeup. I ended up using that every night with my cleanser.

Lipstick -Cover Girl - lip perfection/verve
kikidoll27 3/23/2013 3:08:00 PM
I am not a fan of Cover Girl lip products. It's probably my least favorite brand at the drugstore. Lately though, I was on sort of a CG high with their 3in1 foundation and Wetslicks and the Jumbo Gloss Balm that I have been lusting after for the past few weeks. I've heard good things about CGs lipsticks, so when my Mom whipped this out in the car a few days ago, I put some on too. I have to say, I really hate it! It's a frosty pink at first, but like another reviewer said, it changes into a garish color as wear time increases. And it does stain my lips a bit. The formula is nice, wear time for me was around four hours. I don't know if it was just this color or not, but I can't say I'll try out anymore CG lip perfection lipsticks any time soon.

Other -Unlisted Brand - Baking Soda
kikidoll27 3/22/2013 5:50:00 PM
I've heard a lot about using baking soda masks to help with acne. I've had mild/moderate acne for a while...it's definitely been a lot better lately breakout wise, but I have pretty bad scarring left over from a terrible breakout I got from the st ives face scrube (which unfortunately just wasn't for me). I tried this mask a couple months ago, when my acne was at it's worst, and saw no improvement. It made my skin itch and feel uncomfortable. It also made it slightly dry and very red. So no, I would not use this mask again. It was just too much for my skin. I definitely think this could be a great thing for a lot of people out there though, so don't let this review stop you because nothing too terrible happened to my skin from using this (no breakouts or anything, my skin didn't fall off). But for people with more sensitive skin like mine, I prefer the aspirin mask to this.

Liquid -Cover Girl - Outlast Stay Fabulous 3 in 1 Foundation
kikidoll27 3/14/2013 4:54:00 PM
Cover Girl normally just doesn't do it for me. I normally stray from their section at the drugstore aside from picking up their Lashblast mascaras, but lately I've been hearing so much about this foundation that I could not believe, so I had to try it out for myself. My previous CG foundation experience was not pleasent. My mom loves CG Clean, so she tried to get me to use it...that stuff is evil! I really wasn't expecting much from this, other than the nice quality bottle (it has a PUMP!) and that tacky CG label (seriously, the label on the bottle is preeeety taaaacky, but come on, it has a PUMP!), and the 11.99 pricetag (CVS is so expensive). I got the shade 805 ivory, the lightest color, I believe. I am supppper light, so I normally just wear concealer to hid my ugliness, but foundation is so much easier and hides my entire face. I tried this out for the first time this morning before school, expecting a huge mess on my face, but Lordy this stuff is awesome! I'm sure I'll like it less and less as I use it more. I put on one layer over my whole face using my knock off beauty blender (which I happen to love), and applied a little more over my acne scars. It covers redness and small blemishes very well. Right now, my skin is pretty much clear except for the scars left over from a few years of mild/moderate acne on my scar-prone skin, so I can't vouch for how well this covers active blemishes, but it does a decent job of covering scars. I'd be fine just wearing this to the store or something. But today for school, I applied my concealer (coverblend multi function concealer) on scars and my under eye circles. Does it break me out? Not sure yet. Probably. I have very sensitive skin, so I'd be shocked if it didn't. But a few breakouts here and there aren't a deal breaker. I'll update as I use this more and more. For now, I really like it. Will it make me try more CG products? Nope. I found love with this product, and don't want to ruin it by trying more CG products I despise with every fiber of my being (aside from the LB products...love those). UPDATE 3/8/13: I've worn this every day this week except Tuesday (sick day) instead of my usual layer of concealer. I'm prettty sure this breaks me out. Nearly positive. So I have to take off a lippie, but I'll keep testing it out. I am so disappointed that this breaks me out (I think), because I LOVE it! Today, I was actually told for the first time is years (by someone other than an 'adult') that my skin is flawless. Not that it looks flawless, but that it IS. I was floored. I mean, I know this foundation makes my skin look awesome, but to have someone other than you tell you that is great. I definitely will keep wearing it because I love how it looks on. I'll still keep trying foundations tough. Next on my 'hit list', I guess, is Almay Clear Complexion and Revlon CS Whipped. UPDATE 3/28/12: I've been wearing this every single day, and can now happily say...NO BREAKOUTS! I'm keeping it at four lippies though because the lightest shade, 805 Ivory, is too dark for my fair skin. Other than that it's really a lovely product. I just wish CG would realize that not all girls out there strive to be tan-- some of us love our pale skin. UPDATE 4/9/13: Oh God! Minus a lippie. This stuff is NOT for warm weather! This week in my town has been so hot...okay, 70-80 degees. But this stuff cakes and melts off and looks generally horrid. In a few weeks, it'll be 90-100 degrees here...and this is a no go! Sigh, I guess we were not meant to be. It's a nice foundation for winter/inside days...but Lord. Not working for me right now. The hunt continues.

Concealers -Exuviance - Cover Blend Multi Function Concealer
kikidoll27 3/13/2013 8:10:00 PM
(I posted this in the other review section, but saw there was another and added it here) ORIGINAL REVIEW: I was in Ulta the other day, and had recently run out of my old concealer (rimmel match perfection). I would have repurchased it, but lately I've noticed that the lightest shade is too dark for my fair skin. On the Ulta website, this concealer was rated well, as well as here on MUA. Common complaints were that it was either too light or it didn't come in enough shades for darker skintones. The latter is an issue, as it only comes in two shades. I'd say that if you're any darker than an NC40, this concealer probably wouldn't work for you. I have it in light, which is the lighter shade of the two. I have a lot of acne scarring, and want to cover them up on a daily basis, especially for school. This is very light, and matches my fair skin perfectly! I just dab it where I need it...and I'm done! A little goes a long way. UPDATE 12/30/12: No change in lippies, but I've been doing my makeup in super weird lighting when I wrote the first part of the review. I was out today and saw my face in a department store mirror, and my face looked close to flawless! I've been breaking out a lot lately (Christmas candy...what I eat often effects my skin), and had a really ugly belmish. It seriously looked almost gone with this on! I actually notice a reduction in redness after I remove this. I guess I can chalk this up to all the anti-aging ingrediants this claims it has. Really loving this concealer so far! UPDATE 1/11/13: Back to doing my makeup in normal lighting, and have been using this every single day. After gym class, I usually check my makeup in the locker room mirror to make sure it doesn't look cakey/my mascara isn't smudged. I used to dodge those mirrors and only look in them for a quick second to wipe off my inevitable 'panda eyes'. Since my old concealer was too dark for me, it highlighted my acne/scarring and made me feel really self concious because it would smear throughout the day. This concealer perfectly matches my skin tone, and has the most amazing (but never cakey) coverage in the world. Really happy with this concealer- I used to spend at least twenty minutes on my concealer alone trying to cover up all my imperfections, but now I can spend the same amount of time on all my makeup. I definitely reccommend this to anyone willing to spend a bit more money to get a great concealer. For anyone wondering, you can get this at Ulta for 22$. UPDATE 3/2/13: I'm not gunna dock lippies for this, but Lord almightly, this looks like makeup in sunlight! And I don't mean makeup, I mean MAKEUP. Like, girl, your face is a cake kind of makeup. But only under harsh, harsh sunlight, which I'm hardly ever in because I...I hardly go outside...*coughs*.

Lip Gloss -Maybelline - Color Sensational Lip Gloss (All Colors)
kikidoll27 3/4/2013 5:32:00 PM
First up: the scent! It is fruity, but in a plasticy kind of way. It's gag inducing, honestly. If this was the most amazing lipgloss in the world, I still wouldn't repurchase based on smell alone. I can't deal with that. Now, once on the lips, this lipgloss seems to be a nice barbie pink color. It's pretty. However, in about thirty minutes, it oxidizes into the ugly dark pink/purple color that looks and feels...dirty. I think it cost around seven dollars. I think people who are just beginning with makeup would like this more than I do, but I wouldn't reccomend this to them since I know there are better lipglosses that cost less.

Lips -New York Color - Smooch Proof Lip Stain
kikidoll27 2/16/2013 10:32:00 AM
I found this one sale at CVS for 4.25. Originally it's five dollars, which is the leat expensive lip stain I've seen around the drugstore. Now, I've tried a lot of lipstains (covergirl, revlon, pixie...), but none of them have ever had great color payoff like this one does. All I need is one swipe on my lips, and I'm good to go for the whole day. This is quite longlasting and feels nice and not drying. I believe I have the color champagne stain. It's a nice pink that boarders on a coral shade. I like it for school when I don't feel like looking too made up, or if I'm going out running some erronds or going to the grocery store or somewhere like that. The only reason I gave it four lippies and not five is because I feel like there isn't that much product in the tube and under dark lighting it looks like a deep wine color, which is pretty, but not what I wanted. In natrual light it looks fine, so I stick to wearing it during the day.

Lip Gloss -L'Oreal - Colour Caresse Shine Stain / Shine Caresse
kikidoll27 2/16/2013 10:11:00 AM
Adorable.

Sunscreen -Neova - DNA Damage Control SILC SHEER 2.0
kikidoll27 2/10/2013 3:59:00 PM
I did not purchase this myself. My neighbor, who is around fourty five, got this, but gave it to me because it broke her out. I have acne prone skin, so that made me pretty nervous. She has super sensitive skin like I do, and I was positive this would break me out. I think that it does give me a few small blemishes when used for more than five days in a row. When I know I'll be out in the sun for a long time, I'll put this on in the morning, and I'll be good for the day (no breakouts!). It's a nice consistincy and doesn't make me greasy or oily throughout the day. The packaging is practical, nothing to call your mom about. I don't think I'd repurchase this because I believe it costs around thirty dollars, and I would rather buy a new foundation or something than buy a sunscreen. If this didn't break me out when used over a span of more than five days, I'd be all over this. I'll definitely use it up, but it could take a while. I'm still on the hunt for my HG suncreen.
