Masks -Freeman - Cucumber & Ginseng Peel- Off Masque
kace005 3/7/2009 2:35:00 PM
Part of the reason this product does nothing is because cucumber does absolutely nothing for your skin, and is only used over the eyes to relax them. That just what the mask is: relaxing. Maybe its sort of fun, peeling it off. But don't expect any wonders. A comparably cheap peel of mask is Queen Helene's Grape Seed Mask. And this works a bit better too.
Best smell, but honestly, I wish it had more "scrub" qualities. It does leave your skin soft and with a raspberry freshness though! I will probably repurchase it because it is cheap and smells nice and its for every skin type. And I love the new flip top.
I liked this product. But not as a scrub. It is a decent cleanser, but it doesn't really remove flakes all that well. Also, I always feel like I'm putting detergent on my face (maybe the smell) and it dries out my skin if I'm not careful and use it too often. If you have irritable skin, like this may not be the product for you. I will not be repurchasing it. I still feel the best scrub, regardless of the skin-type is Clinques 7-Day Scrub. Granted, its more expensive, but you get your money's worth.
Cleansers -Aveeno - Clear Complexion Cleansing Bar

I think this is one of the most versatile bar "soaps" out their. Not only is it super cheap, but it can be used as a shower and face wash. I think the problem is that people expect instant results, but you need to use it regularly for a couple weeks (at least I did). The smell is great and leaves your skin soft regardless. Make sure you moisturize afterwards though. The salicylic acid can cause your skin to dry out, but also controls oil. Personally I use this is the morning and a more lotion-based wash in the evenings (my skin is very oily, acne prone and sensitive). Oh and a note on storage: make sure you keep it in a dry spot. This is NOT really soap (soap is not that good for your skin because it has a high pH) so it melts a bit if it doesn't have the chance to dry. Good luck with this product. At this price, its definately worth a shot!
I generally am unhappy with my concearlers because they do not last for very long (typically only 2 hours) then I need to reapply. This lasts at least til noon. Great for redness and pimples. It doesn't work well for eye rings (does not glide on very well). I've been using it for several months and it has never made me break out. And I can apply it over pimples and it doesn't make them worse or cake like most concealers. A tip to applying it is warming up the concealer. The package suggests rubbing it between your hands but I put it in my jeans pocket for about 10 minutes before applying instead. By warming up the formula, it glides on a lot easier. *Update* I changed it from 4 lippies to 5. I officially love this concealer. I have been using it for over 9 months almost everyday and it still looks like i just bought it so it lasts for ages. Also I have found that the best way to apply it (after warming it up) is to put it on after your moisturizer has dried and then adding a layer of powder (I use Clinique) to make it stay in place. It is incredibly long lasting this way (by itself it lasts for hours too, which doesn't usually happen on my skin).
I really agree with the review before. Its strong, but when used correctly and infrequently, it is an excellent way to clean your pores and control breakout. Definately use a moisturizer afterwards. I love Step #3 of this program most actually.
Moisturizers -La Prairie - Skin Caviar Luxe Cream for face

Personally I have never tried this creme (I am only 18) but my mother and coworker are both completely obsessed with it. The reason I decided to write a review is because my mom and my coworker have entire different skin type (mom-super dry, coworker-comination/oily) but they both have found salvation in this creme. Truth be told, it may be overpriced, but both think it is worth the money in the long run. Their skin feels elastic and soft, and there is a significant difference in both their appearances. If you are thinking about this product, see if you can test it (that is what my coworker did). Hope this helped!
Accessories -Unlisted Brand - Ugg slippers and boots

Absolutely love my Uggs. I bought a pair in this bright copper color (mid-calf size) on sale and was a bit unsure about my color choice. But turns out, it is a great way to brighten up a dreary winter ensemble. Also, they are super warm and keep my legs toastie. I have only had them for about 4 months and the sole is peeling off a bit (probably because I have been walking through too many slush puddles) so I need to glue them a bit. Other than that, no complaints. Next season I'll probably get a new color too. Can't wait.
I grew up with H&M and am so glad that after I moved to the US they came here too! It is cheap clothing that doesn't look cheap. In fact, sometimes it really looks high fasion. A lot of it is cotton or other easy fabrics with original designs and details. Also, the sizes always fit, so I often buy things without trying them on. Only downside, its dirt cheap, so it is not always the best quality. But I also have basic shirts I bought 5+ years ago that still get some wear in them.
The price and variety of colors cannot be beat. I own several pairs over the years and all of them have last but one. My first pair I practically lived in for 2 summers and is still alive and well. LOVE these shoes. And I'm definately buying two more pairs this summer.
Powder -Clinique - Clarifying Powder Makeup [DISCONTINUED]
kace005 3/6/2009 6:09:00 PM
This was a good product for me because it definately controls the oil and last me at least until noon. Also, it does not make breakouts worsen. But to say that it did wonder in clearing up my skin would be a huge overstatement. I would definately use it with other acne medication or spot treatment. Also, I have a difficult skin tone to match, and was not entirely content with the color. So I'm off to search for other powders. Other than that, I would say it is a durable little case, but you should switch up the sponge to avoid germ build-up which will worse your breakout.
Makeup Brushes -Sonia Kashuk - Synthetic Flat Top Multipurpose Brush
kace005 3/6/2009 5:54:00 PM
This brush is GORGEOUS.. Its job amazingly, and is half the price of equal quality brushes I've seen my friends own. I am so glad I listened to MUA and bought this! It feels so good on your face and you can even wash it, if needs be. Oh, and not only does it make you feel like a movie star, but it looks like a work of art. If you own one, you'll know what I mean. and if I lost it (knock on wood) I would definately buy it again.
This leaves your hair SO soft, it is fantastic. I have hard, crunchy curls, and this is the only product which leaves them soft. Also, it has that classic dove smell which I adore. The jar is cute, although sometimes a bit tricky if you are in hurry. My tip: if you are prone to an oily scalp or get build-up easily, but still want to repair your ends, use it only on the bottom 2/3 or your hair. You will still get super soft hair.
Shampoo -Clairol - Herbal Essences Drama Clean refreshing shampoo
kace005 3/6/2009 5:38:00 PM
One of the best value shampoos out there to clean out all the buildup in my hair. I've used herbal essences a lot, but drama clean is definately one of my favorites. I usually mix and match with a different conditioner though (eg: volume or moisture). Oh and did I mention the delicious smell. Each shampoo smell like it own orchird.
This is light on my hair but really dries it out. I used the whole bottle and saw no root-raising benefits. Nice smell, cute kangaroo, but probably will not repurchase and will keep using my regular Herbal Essences... same price, better smell, better results.
