Primer/ Corrector -La Prairie - Rose Illusion - Line Filler/Primer
jochan2 1/28/2005 10:05:00 AM
I love this primer and is heaps better than the LM foundation primer. It makes my face feel very smooth and makes any foundation a dream to apply. This has made my makeup last all day and withstand the heat of the Aussie summer. Applying a very small amount of this product avoids the heavy feeling some people may have experienced. I don't think I will be repurchasing soon as a 30 mL will last me a very long time. This costs a very steep AUD180.
Lotions/ Creams -The Body Shop - Passionfruit Body Butter

I received this wonderful gift from a very thoughtful MUAer. This is my first venture into body butters and I'm not disappointed. I love the sweet yet refreshing smell of passionfruit - just perfect for summer. The smell stays true and does linger for a while which is a bonus. This is a great product to use during our dry and hot Aussie summer. It leaves my skin feeling nice and soft but not greasy. I can't wait to try the other flavours. I will repurchase.
This works well for my smallish Asian eyes. It is really easy to use once you get used to it. This comes with an extra pad which apparently are not available on its own. They recommend getting a totally new one once both pads wear off which seems to be a waste to me.
Eye Shadow -Shu Uemura - ME Silver 945 [DISCONTINUED]
jochan2 1/11/2005 12:21:00 PM
I'm a real sucker for shimmery taupe eyeshadows and I don't regret for a moment buying this to add to my collection. Others see mauve undertones but I see brown undertones which goes perfectly with my other neutral eyeshadows. Shu eyeshadows in general are really silky and highly pigmented. A little goes a long way. I like the functional clear perpex case. I'm looking forward to adding to this collection.
I'm so glad I joined the band wagon having bought this solely based on the reviews from MUA. I like the fact that the bristles are just the right size and stiffness for applying bronzers. Highly recommended - you'll never go wrong with this brush. This is expensive however in Oz AU145 therefore try and grab a bargain from eBay. Will repurchase if I ever have to.
Makeup Brushes -Laura Mercier - Creme Eye Detail Brush
jochan2 1/11/2005 12:11:00 PM
This synthetic brush has shorter pointed bristles compared to the creme eye colour blending brush. I used it for applying creme eye shadows to the crease. It can also be used to apply an eye primer but will obviously take longer due to the shorter bristles. This is a great tool for people who regularly uses creme eyeshadows - a good quality brush that doesn't shed or change shape.
Makeup Brushes -Laura Mercier - Creme Eye Colour Brush
jochan2 1/11/2005 12:06:00 PM
This is a medium-bristled rounded synthetic brush that I use to apply Eye Basics and can also be used for other creme eye shadows. I wish I've discovered it earlier. The size of this brush is perfect for my smallish Asian eyes. Using this brush to apply eye basics is such a breeze now and I don't get smudging around the corner of my eyes. I have using it daily for the past week and have been washing it daily. It hasn't shed or changed shape. It isn't cheap at AU58 but is well worth it. Will be repurchasing.
This is an absolute must for me when using vit c serums as it dries out my skin. This viscous clear fluid gives my skin instant hydration. It is nonfragranced and I've not had problems with irritation or breakouts.
Lip Gloss -Christian Dior - Addict Lip Gloss- A Crunch of Chocolate-511
jochan2 1/11/2005 11:13:00 AM
I've recently rediscovered this in my stash. I love using it with a nudish pink lipliner like MAC Dervish. It gives a wonderful YLBB look that looks so polished and not over the top. I didn't like wearing it on its own as it was a bit too dark for me. I wouldn't be repurchasing as it doesn't last long on my lips - also the reason why I've a lippie off.
This is a true champagne colour that is extremely versatile. I use this as a wash with browns and taupes and at times as a highlighter. Will repurchase.
This is a great versatile base that would suit most skin tones. As previously described, it is a champagne colour with a hint of peach and slight shimmer.
Here goes another Stephane Marais convert... This is my first venture into the world of bronzers and I wasn't disappointed. It was everything I expected it to be - I didn't want a fake tan but just something to give a subtle glow that screams of health. For reference: O1 in fluid foundation and GA MSF 5. Will definitely repurchase.
Lip Treatments -Perfumeria Gal - Red Currant Lip Balm
jochan2 1/8/2005 8:57:00 PM
I absolutely love this lip balm including the scent (sweet but not sickeningly so), texture which leaves my lips really soft and moisturised and packaging. It comes in a generous size of 15 mL. Retails for ~AUD10. Will definitely repurchase.
Another keeper from GA. This is a sheer red tint gloss with micro-shimmer that doesn't look garish. Love the packaging - very functional.
My first MAC lipglass and I love this pinky nude YLBB gloss with slight shimmer. I wear it by itself or with MAC Dervish lipliner for more colour. Highly recommended and will repurchase.
