I love this mascara. I buy the waterproof version of it in black. It definitely gives me the fake eyelash look without clumping or flaking or transferring. I have been using it now daily for over a year and although I have tried desperately to find a drugstore mascara that competes, I just have not found one. This product is great and I have repurchased and will continue to repurchase.
This is the most difficult nail polishes to put on. It is incredibly streaky and looks like pink white out. I have used it a number of ways. First, I tried it without a base--awful. Then I purchased a very expensive sticky base which works wonders on my other nail polishes...but not this one. It is awful awful awful. I hate it! In the garbage (or maybe I can return it?). This was not a cheap product. Awful.
Bronzers -New York Color - Smooth Skin Bronzing Face Powder in Sunny 720
jessmarie09 12/25/2010 2:59:00 PM
***updated review*** I believe this bronzer was causing me to breakout. It caused me to develop terrible black heads. Also I found that as I tanned, this bronzer become too powdery and did not add any depth to the skin and I could not use as a contour. Overall, I started to dislike it and eventually discarded in the garbage. Just goes to show that sometimes you fall in love with a product initially and after using it for some time realize how awful it is.
Scrubs -Unlisted Brand - Dr Scholls for Her Pumice Foot Scrub
jessmarie09 12/25/2010 2:54:00 PM
This foot scrub does absolutely nothing for my feet. The grounded pumice does not exfoliate. I used my bare hands to rub it on and found the pumice irritating to my hands while it does nothing for my feet. I cannot smell the natural peppermint nor do I feel any special tingle as expected. Also, I found squeezing the product out of the tube to be difficult and you can never get the right amount since you have to apply a lot of force which results in a large gush of product all over your hands. I would not recommend or repurchase.
Sorry, this just doesn't work for me. It causes incredible burning and itching without drying out my acne. If it worked, I would tolerate the burning and discomfort. But I have been using it for about a week on the same spot and although my skin is turning red and burning, and although I have experienced intense peeling, the acne is still there as bumpy and red as ever. This product just doesn't work for me and I will not repurchase. In fact, it is going into the trash.
Breaks me out. Like Cystic acne and tons of black heads...I mean tons!
I really enjoy using this cream. I liken it to Cetaphil cream that comes in the pot, but different. This is a scentless creamy product and the consistency is slightly sticky but it absorbs quickly and the stickiness disappears. It is different from the Cetaphil cream in consistency, it is hard to explain. Cetaphil seems more water based and slightly less moisturizing. UnfortunateIy I cannot use the Cerave on my face, it gives me small bumps.
Update 9/30/12: I actually tossed this in the garbage. Too much fall-out, too many shimmery/metallic shades and no matter which colors I used together, I always achieved the same smokey muddy bronzy mess. After a while, I just started to hate this palette. For my eyes, I just prefer matte shades or shades with a slight shimmer. Anything metallic has to go! _______ I jumped on this band wagon and have no regrets. These eyeshadows are sort of creamy in consistency/texture, go on like a dream and blend beautifully. I love this palette and it was totally worth the $44 or so dollars. The colors are perfect neutrals for work mostly shimmer but some matte. There's a bit of fall out for some of the shades, but nothing unmanageable. Overall, a great product and I would recommend.
First, I absolutely hated this product when I first bought it. I hated the smell, the greasy feel and the container it came in. I have been using the same pot for about two months now..on a daily basis. Well, I got used to the smell (I actually enjoy it now, yes weird), I love the texture, it absorbs quickly and is not greasy at all (very moisturizing) and it is superior to more expensive brands that I have used in the past (ie., Korres lip butters and einstein lip moisturizer). I would definitely recommend, it is actually pretty incredibly good!
Love it!!! But breaks me out!! Cystic Acne and regular acne. Every time. The painful part is that it covers so well and looks so beautiful. So when I have a major breakout I am so tempted to use it, but while it covers the acne I know that at the end of the day I will have double the bumps under the make-up. I am on my second tube of this and it is purely for emergency use only(ie. pictures and special occassions). However, I need to find something that works as well but does not break me out. I would recommend to those of you who do not have acne issues. I gave it a 3 because of this (otherwise it would have gotten a 4).
Eye Shadow -BeneFit Cosmetics - Creaseless Cream Shadow/Liner in R.S.V.P.
jessmarie09 11/27/2010 3:23:00 PM
Edit: this product creases! I still love it but it does crease. Old review: I love this creamy creaseless shadow. I have very oily skin and oily eyelids and my shadows always crease when worn without a base, but this does not. I wear it every weekend. It is a shimmery pinky gold color that looks more like a beautiful highlight than an eyeshadow. I would definitely recommend it. It is better than the mac paint pot in bare study and rubinesque (I own them both and use them for the same purposes...shimmery eyeshadow/highlight).
Lip Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Einstein Lip Theory Hydrating Formula
jessmarie09 11/13/2010 12:24:00 PM
This is Poop. Absolutely worthless product. I purchased this as part of a duo package with the cooling lip balm for about $12. First, $12 is way too much to pay for a drugstore lip balm. Second, it is certainly not worth the money. This product does not moisturize my lips at all. I end up having to use it with my carmex to get the same result I would get with the carmex alone. I would not recommend.
Lip Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Einstein Lip Theory Cooling Relief
jessmarie09 11/13/2010 12:21:00 PM
I bought this product from DR for about $12 for the duo cooling lip and lip moisturizer. First, $12 is way too pricey for a drugstore lip balm--even a duo package. So this review is for the cooling relief lip balm which comes in a small pot and smells sort of like cough syrup. It appears gold translucent in the pot, but goes on clear. When I first used it, I thought wow amazing. It immediately made my lips soft, although it did go on a bit greasy. However, after subsequent uses (for a week in a row, several times a day), I find this product ultra drying and believe that it is actually causing my lips to crack. Although it feels moisturizing initially, the moisture does not last. I would not repurchase and would not recommend. There are better products out there for the price.
This review is for the CVS mint masque, which is supposed to be an exact dupe and I checked the ingredients and they seem to be exactly the same. I used this product every other day for about a week. It dried out my skin and gave me cystic acne. It seemed easy to rinse off initially but when I would check my face in the mirror I would have a greenish film on my face--so using a wash cloth to wipe off was a must. So very sorry, but it just did not work for me. In the garbage!
Shampoo -L'Oreal - EverPure Sulfate-free Color Care Shampoo
jessmarie09 10/23/2010 11:44:00 AM
This product dried out my hair and gave me severe dandruff. My hair type is dry curly frizzy dark brown hair. My stylist recommended that I try products for color treated hair, even though I don't color my hair, because they tend to be gentlest on the hair and are good for dry frizzy hair (my hair type). I wash my hair two to three times a week, since I blow dry my hair so I don't wash it as often. I used this product for about a month with the complimentary conditioner and deep conditioner. I started to develop rash like dry patches on my scalp which escalated to scaling of the skin. My hair also feels like hay and looks super dry (I have been blow drying my hair for years and my hair has never felt or looked this dry ever....also I am very careful about using heat on my hair and using deep conditioners and heat protectants). This product (along with its sister products) went straight into the trash.
