Eye Shadow -Max Factor - Eye Shadow Trio in Ravenous
jdianne86 6/24/2007 9:39:00 PM
I have been anticipating these vibrant-looking eyeshadows for a while now b/c I absolutely love wild and crazy colors to make unique looks. These seemed like the perfect shadows to make the greatest looks. Well, I read some reviews here before going out and purchasing a trio, and the one I bought obviously didn't have it's own category review, so I'm adding it. The one I bought was called "Ravenous" and it's in the little 3 section trio style with a goldenrod yellow, a hazelnut brown, and a charcoal black. The colors in the pan looked amazing. I wanted something more "vibrant" but the store I was at was sold out, so I chose this one.. plus I've been on the lookout for a true matte black. Well, this didn't make my dreams come true or give me a "unique look". I tried wearing them dry and wet and while the colors look very sheer on and rather light, this is not what I expected at all. The colors are nothing like what's in the pan; the shadows are really chalky so you have to dig your brush into them to even consider getting an ample amount onto your brush, and they are just overall disappointing. Perhaps I will read some of the reviews on the other trio's and see if they work out, but don't get "Raveous" unless you believe there is a such thing as "invisible" eyeshadow. Waste your $5 on something else!!

Eye Shadow -Black Radiance - Loose Shimmer Shadow- Sunset Sparkle
jdianne86 6/21/2007 2:13:00 AM
I really love these Black Radiance loose E/S powders. They are highly pigmented and a little goes a long way. The price is so cheap, it's like you're stealing! Hehe... It's a shimmery reddish-mahogany color on my eyes, but works out really well. I also blend it with "Silver Fox" to complete my look. In the pics below, I am wearing Silver Fox around my eyes (Sunset Sparkle), but it's hard to see... sorry about the quality! If you look at the pics though, you might see what I'm trying to say. :)

Eye Shadow -MAC - Aquavert (Veluxe Pearl)
jdianne86 6/21/2007 2:00:00 AM
I love this ES! Too bad it was LE. I got my hands on it at Ebay, hehe. As others have described this particular color, it's a minty, pearly green on me. I can make it really intense, but I used my BonBons loose powder eyeshadow stacked cube in "Calypso" (I used the minty green color) to emphasize the mint green color on my eyes. The result--absolutely gorgeous & unique! To finish it off, I used Mac's "Playful"--The Barbie Loves MAC LE on my brow and another BonBons stacked cube pink color to emphasize that. Basically, I used the MAC shadows as bases. I'll include a couple of pics to show you my results... Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that I used Black Radiance "Sunset Sparkle" on my bottom lash line and Black Radiance "Silver Fox" in the inner corner of my eyes. And the lipstick I'm wearing is the new MAC Slimshine in "Kissable". :) Sorry, I look really fat-headed in these pics, lol! I just needed a good close-up shot!

Eye Shadow -Jane - Eye Zing- Moss
jdianne86 6/21/2007 1:55:00 AM
I thought I wouldn't like this ES at first (I got it in a palette with 7 other ES for like 7 bucks), but I used it with several other Jane E/S before getting the looked I wanted. I'm posting a pic of me wearing "Moss" along with some other blended colors. First, I used Dream Cream all over my lid, then added Sun Gloss on top to give it some shimmer. I then used Sage over my lids on top of those two almost up to my brow, but not quite... I blended Sage with Dream Cream / Sun Gloss to create a nice look. I then took Moss and that's the color that made it all happen. I used Moss in the crease of my lids and out came a perfect look... to me anyway! Hehe. Check it out... I also used Browny Points on my bottom lid.

Eye Shadow -Rimmel - Colour Rush Trio Eye Shadow - Maritime - 700
jdianne86 6/21/2007 1:46:00 AM
Wow, I'm totally surprised by the negative ratings on this ES! My best friend and I were shopping around in Wal-Mart and both spotted this bright blue trio ES that stood out amongst the others. We both bought one and I managed to wear it better... she only wore it dry and I wore it wet. I have worn it both ways and for more intensity, you MUST wear it wet or else it's a subtle light-bluish look, which I don't mind wearing during the daytime. Here is a pic of me wearing the 3 color (the darkest one) wet... no ES primer used.

Lip Gloss -Candy Kisses - Candy Kisses Lip Balm
jdianne86 6/15/2007 12:18:00 AM
I also bought a set of 9 of these off Ebay. I remember owning the "Watermelon" one and remembering how delicious it tasted. So much for me actually wearing the balm. I left it in my mom's car and the tin was upside down. Yes, you can only imagine what happened to my precious CK lip balm! Anyway, I still used it even though the composition was now located at the top of the tin and got everywhere when I opened it. I found another one of these at Sally's in "Strawberry" but could never find the other ones. I liked the *taste* of the Watermelon more b/c it was sweeter and the strawberry one looked more subtle and pinkish on my lips, but didn't taste as good. That was a few years ago, it is now 2007 and these babies have been discontinued for some time now. I even tried going to their website and I don't think it even exist. How disappointing is that? Anyway, I have all the flavors now--Strawberry, Watermelon, Peaches N` Cream, Mango, French Vanilla, Bubble Gum Drop, Cherry Vanilla, Candy Cane, and Chocolate Mint! Individually, they were probably about $3 which is a lot higher than what I paid for in the past. They were only 99 cents then, but it was well worth my $15 for all 9. I believe they all have the same consistency and taste... didn't seem old and odd tasting. The watermelon is more clear than my original one... which is a good thing. It's only slightly tinted and the taste is not as sweet, but it's hardly noticeable. The strawberry one actually tastes better than my old one that I still have lol. I think my older one is about to expire soon b/c it has a sort of a plastic-like artificial taste and my new one is fresh. I can't judge the other ones b/c I never had them before, but they all seem wonderful and very moisturizing. I just wish they'd stay on longer without me re-applying every 30 minutes! I can get past that though. I would def. repurchase at the same price, but would not pay over $15 for all 9 again. I can find other lip balms that are just as tasty and good... maybe... :P Look them up on Ebay if you've been looking for them; I can't remember the seller's name, but she sells TONS of fresh CK lip balms! :) Enjoy!

Eye Primer -Mary Kay - Eye Primer
jdianne86 6/10/2007 9:50:00 PM
UPDATE: 4/2/2010 -- I still use this product and I recently bought a MAC Paint Pot in Soft Ochre b/c of all the marvelous reviews. It doesn't do CRAP compared to this! And it's also a lot more expensive at $16.50 plus tax! When I applied Soft Ochre, my eyeshadow was noticeably duller than when I use my MK primer, and it also creased within 2 hours of precise application!! Ughhh.. I should've just stuck with what I'm used to, lol. Oh well, I'm not afraid to venture out and try new products. My MK eye primer is a MUST and still my HG to this day. I NEVER wear shadow without it. Will purchase for as long as they make it! :) Go Mary Kay!! I just recently discovered the benefits of using "eye primers". I had heard about them before but never thought about trying one. I didn't want to buy an expensive one right away because I was afraid it wouldn't work on my oily lids that tend to crease within an hour of eyeshadow application! Boo! I bought this off Ebay for $6.25.. it is originally $12, so I saved half. It is a creamy white color in the tube, but when you apply it and blend it in well, it's transparent! The first time I used it, I was not that impressed because my eyeshadow had creased within 3 hours.. not badly, but you could tell. I was disappointed. I decided to try this w/ my MAC eyeshadows and let's just say I still have my eyeshadow on and it's been 9+ hours..... NO CREASING! I will buy this again b/c I know I will run out (it's a very small tube at .3 oz (8.5 g)), so I'll be needing more in the future! I am very satisfied with this product and other MK products as well. I will purchase more when needed! Try this ladies if you haven't. You shouldn't be disappointed! :P

Eye Shadow -MAC - Barbie-Beautyburst
jdianne86 6/10/2007 9:45:00 PM
I have all of the Barbie Loves MAC eyeshadows except Whistle, which I'm still deciding on. I don't think I have any use for the color since I've seen similar. Anyway, Beautyburst is a beautiful reddish-brown color that blends well with the other Barbie eyeshadows. I blended it with Playful and used my Mary Kay Signature Eye Primer for a long-lasting crease-free look and let's just say the results were A-M-A-Z-i-N-G! This eyeshadow has a very unique look and I don't think I own any other eyeshadows that look quite like this one. I would rep. if necessary without a doubt! :)

Lips -Mary Kate and Ashley - Plump-Rageous
jdianne86 6/10/2007 9:39:00 PM
Wow, I was looking through the MK&A section at my local Wal-Mart remembering how sucky most of their products are even though they are so cute. I never saw this "Plump-Rageous" thing before, so I bent down to examine all the colors. It was a really hard choice considering I thought they all looked really pretty! I don't really need a "plumping" lipgloss or whatever because my lips are already pretty full, but not like Angelina Jolie.. def. not that big, but I don't like overly large lips anyway. Okay, anyway... I decided on "Daredevil" which like another user said, is a dual-ended lipstick and lip gloss with a metallic pink color and slight shimmer. You get a lot of product for so cheap! I thought the color would look pornstar-ish on me, but it turned out to be even nicer when I applied the gloss over the lipstick. It actually seemed to make my lips fuller and appear more defined after using this! I also did not have a problem with it drying my lips out or leaving nasty residue. Both ends have an ample amount of product.. the lipstick side is 3.5g (.12oz) and the gloss side is 6.0g (.21oz) so you are getting plenty of product for a little over $3! I would def. repurchase in this same color and other colors as well. MK&A products have a rave review from me... at least this product! :)

Eye Shadow -MAC - Moth Brown
jdianne86 6/6/2007 9:12:00 PM
I really like this LE MAC eyeshadow. I really got into the Barbie Loves Mac edition, so I wanted to buy all of the eyeshadows. This shadow is a strange color, but in a good way. It's not a neutral brown like I was suspecting, but rather a frosty greyish-purplish-brown on my lids. It is very pigmented, so be careful! I really think this color is flattering and can actually understand how the name "moth brown" goes with this. Moths are a slight grey/brown color so the name is fitting. I would repurchase if I ran out, but considering it is LE and I'll probably never run out... maybe not. We'll see. :P

Skincare - Body -Swedish Beauty - Tickled Pink
jdianne86 6/6/2007 9:03:00 PM
I bought this tanning lotion at my tanning salon for almost full price (originally $48, but paid $37 b/c of 25% discount) and I really liked it at first. However, the strong perfume smell just made me nauseous and the bronzer went on a little streaky! It did help me tan, but the smell is what really turned me off. I am now using Fiesta Sun's Flirt Tini Tan Maximizer instead which smells like raspberries... yummm. It was also a lot cheaper. If you purchase this lotion, try Ebay first for a better deal than your local tanning salon please. Or at least get a sample pack before you pay for the full-size bottle. That goes with any tanning lotion! :)
