Moisturizers -Desert Essence - Jojoba Oil - 100% pure
jbeans33 1/17/2006 9:53:00 PM
I read all of the glowing reviews here and ran out and bought a bottle of this in hopes that I would see the positive results others have experienced. Not so. I have been only using it for about a week and a half and my skin is looking worse and worse every day. It has caused my seborrheic dermatitis to flare up so badly that now my face looks like I have a sunburn. Also, I have developed small, bumpy-type acne on my forehead and whiteheads on my chin. Everything I have read about this oil says that it is recommended for people with oily,acne-prone, and sensitive skin. This description sums up my skin to a T. But, for some reason it is doing the complete opposite for me. **EDIT (3/27/06)** Ok, I totally have to take back everything I previously stated about jojoba oil. I wasn't patient with it and reviewed it too soon. I have been using it as my night time moisturizer for almost 2 months now and have finally seen the good results others have raved about. My skin still gets oily but, I have noticed a decrease in the amount of oil production. It works great in conjunction with BP to help combat the dry flakes I normally get. Overall, my skin feels much softer and smoother. It hasn't necessarily prevented any of my breakouts but, it definitely seems to soothe them as they are healing. Also, I have been applying this oil to my skin right after I shower when my skin is still damp and it makes my skin SO smooth and hydrated. I will definitlely repurchase when I run out :)

Eyeliner -Prestige - soft Blend Kohl Eyeliner - Spiced

I'm so dissapointed with this e/l. I absolutely love the color and how it made my blue eyes really stand out. But, it smudges like crazy! Too bad...I was planning on checking out the other colors but, now I have changed my mind. Oh, well atleast it wasn't that expensive.

Eyeliner -Palladio - pencil kohl eyeliner
jbeans33 1/10/2006 10:44:00 PM
I bought this in the dark green color. After wearing it all day at work (8 hrs) I did notice that it smudged a tiny bit under my eyes. Next time I will have to set this liner with loose powder. Overall, I'd say that this is a decent eyeliner for the cheap price I paid. I will probably try experimenting with some of the other colors.

Eye Shadow -Maybelline - Expert Eyes Trio - Ivy League
jbeans33 1/10/2006 10:30:00 PM
I really liked the colors of this e/s trio in the store. Too bad there is no pigment at all and it creases within hours of application. I'm throwing this one away and will not repurchase.

Cleansers -Aveeno - Ultra-Calming Foaming Cleanser
jbeans33 1/9/2006 11:04:00 PM
I am on the fence about this face wash. I like that it is unscented, very gentle, and hasn't broken me out at all. But, unfortunately, it hasn't done too much to help the redness in my face. Also, I doesn't do that great of a job removing my m/u (and I wear very minimal m/u!). Also, I found it to be a little drying. I don't think I would repurchase b/c I'm really just not that impressed by this face wash. However, I would recommmend it to people who have oily, sensitive skin.

Polishes -Sally Hansen - Hard as Nails
jbeans33 1/4/2006 3:39:00 PM
Horrible nail polish. It started chipping off my nails the same day I applied it. I painted my nails less than a week ago and most of it is gone. This stuff totally sucks...I'd never repurchase.

Skincare - Body -Bath and Body Works - Aromatherapy- Eucalyptus and Spearmint

I recieved a gift set with lotion, body wash, and body splash in this scent. I do like the scent a lot but, I almost feel like my boyfriend should be wearing this instead of me! It's kinda on the masculine side but, not in a bad way...if that makes any sense. Anyway, I'm glad I recieved this as a gift b/c otherwise I probably would have never tried this one out.

Lotions/ Creams -Gold Bond - Ultimate Healing Skin Therapy Lotion
jbeans33 12/16/2005 3:48:00 PM
I work in a hospital and have to constantly wash my hands. The hand soap at my work is terribly drying and my hands were raw and red from the abuse. I decided to try this lotion based on all the great reviews it has recieved here. All I can say is that I was not let down at all. I like that is it very thick and emollient and absorbs right away into my skin. It is not the least bit greasy. I do wish it was unscented but, I can forgive that because the fragrance is barely noticeable. Overall, I love this stuff. I have been using it on my hands for about 4 days now and my hands look and feel normal again. This is definitely a must for dry, irritated skin.

Eyeliner -Palladio - Liquid Eyeliner
jbeans33 12/16/2005 3:35:00 PM
I have this in bronze and I really like it. It doesn't wear off or smudge yet it washes off easily without the use of an extra eye m/u remover. I can't wait to try out some of the other colors! *EDIT* This stuff smudges like crazy when applied on my lower lash line.

Loose Powders -Palladio - Rice Powder
jbeans33 12/15/2005 9:08:00 PM
I have very oily skin and was looking for a finishing powder that would help eliminate shine. This is a pretty good powder. It helps control shine on my face but, not completely. The scent is not terrible and has not irritated my sensitive skin at all. I'm not quite sure if I will repurchase since it will take me a LONG time to finish this up.

Lotions/ Creams -Suave - Cocoa Butter Body Lotion
jbeans33 11/21/2005 12:05:00 AM
OK, so this isn't the most moisturising lotion out there but, who cares? It smells SO damn good! Plus it is so cheap. I have tried a few of the other d/s cocoa butter lotions out there and this one definitely is the yummiest smelling by far!

Lip Treatments -Blistex - Blistex Spa Effects
jbeans33 9/21/2005 5:22:00 PM
Man do I wish I had checked MUA before I bought these! Totally useless. My lips feel so dry even though I am constantly applying this stuff all day long. They have a very gross/fake sunscreeny taste to them. I gotta get over to Trader Joe's and get Lip Virtuoso again. I have to remember next time that Blistex sucks!

Masks -Unlisted Brand - Aspirin Mask
jbeans33 9/10/2005 12:23:00 PM
I have been using this homemade mask now for a couple of months and so far am pretty pleased with the results. I mix 7 aspirin tablets with just enough rose water and some (powdered) french green clay from the health food store. This has really helped reducing the little "bumpy" type acne that I get from certain products that I am allergic to. Also, it is a very cheap and effective exfoliant and makes your skin SO soft and smooth. I have sensitive, acne-prone skin and I haven't been irritated at all from this mask. Sometimes if I am lazy I will just add the crushed up aspirin tablets to QHMJM and I have gotten good results from that as well. The only reason I didn't give this product 5 lippies is b/c if your skin is really screwed up it won't magically make it perfect. But, it does give pretty good results for a very cheap price. So if you are a poor college student, like me, there is no reason not to try this mask. One last thing, I wouldn't recommend using more that 1-2 times per week as it can be quite drying.

Masks -Queen Helene - Mint Julep Masque
jbeans33 7/21/2005 2:34:00 PM
This stuff seemed to help a bit with minor pimples but, I didn't get such great results when I used it on my stubborn hormonal and stress related breakouts. I have gotten much better results from using an aspirin mask. I will continue to use this b/c it hasn't broken me out but, won't be repurchasing this because I am sure that this tube will last me forever and the results are mediocre at best.**UPDATE**(03/09/06) I have been using this mask combined with 5 crushed up aspirin, some aloe vera gel, and TTO and have gotten MUCH better results. Hasn't bothered my sensitive skin in the slightest :)

Toners -Unlisted Brand - Drugstore Rose water
jbeans33 7/20/2005 9:59:00 PM
Wow, my sensitive skin really loves this stuff! I use this as a toner and it really soothes my skin. I have also made an aspirin toner with this, aspirin (duh!), and aloe vera gel. Works great! Definitely will repurchase.
