Bronzers -Giorgio Armani - Sheer Bronzer #1
jamiefox 6/8/2004 7:45:00 PM
I had to jump on the bandwagon to try this bronzer after reading the rave reviews here on MUA. I am glad that I did. I called Saks 5th Ave. in Beverly Hills to have it sent. They shipped it for free, which sure was nice of them! This is a wonderful bronzer for a more natural light tanned, non-muddy/non-dirty look. It's very subtle. Great for us PPP's! You almost can't over apply this. I usually have to shake off my brush before applying bronzer, but not with this one. It's light and lovely. I used to love Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess, (it's still very nice), but this GA bronzer is now my favorite. You name the bronzer and I have tried it. This adds a nice glow that makes me look lightly sunkissed and pretty. Great for summer! I'm the queens of returns, but this bronzer is staying in my makeup kit for sure!

Makeup Brushes -Sephora - Bronzer Brush
jamiefox 5/19/2004 5:34:00 AM
I just bought this brush brand new out of it's cellophane wrapper and used it twice. It's shedding it's hairs on my face. Not a good thing. I will return it to Sephora and exchange it for a new one. I will update later.

Mascara -L'Oreal - Lash Out
jamiefox 5/2/2004 1:09:00 AM
Lash Out is fantastic! I began using it when it was first launched over 10 years ago. Through the years I have used almost every mascara known to man, from very expensive brands to drugstore brands. Why did I ever stray from Lash Out?! Why did I think that the more expensive the mascara the better it would be?! Silly me! I am back to using Lash Out now for good. It's my HG and I won't use anything else. I buy the Blackest Black shade and it doesn't clump, flake or smudge. It builds my lashes beautifully long. I even cried the other day and it didn't run at all. No raccoon eyes! A lot of the SA's at the cosmetics counters in department stores even confided to me that they use Lash Out. Try it, you'll like it.

Mascara -Shu Uemura - Mascara Basic [DISCONTINUED]
jamiefox 2/17/2004 2:39:00 PM
I guess that I am in the minority on this mascara. I am not a satisfied customer. I had so anticipated finally buying this outrageously priced mascara at Sephora. I bought it in black. It is a soft black rather than a real true black. I almost thought I had bought brown instead of black. It lacks drama. I could handle it being a 'basic mascara' for everyday wear except for the fact that it is difficult to remove. My main complaint, and the reason that I am returning it to Sephora, is that I find it very hard to remove at the end of the day. Even just one coat is hard to remove. I use a very good eye makeup remover and still I find that it has not all been removed and later there are flakes around my eyes after I have washed it off. I do like that it doesn clump or flake before I want to remove it, but removing it is much too difficult. One shouldn't have to tug or scrub the delicate eye area to remove mascara. I wear contact lenses and I cannot use oily eye make-up removers. Those of you who don't mind mascara staying on your lashes after you wash them might not mind this mascara.

Scrubs -Remede - sweep
jamiefox 2/13/2004 5:20:00 AM
WOW! All I can say is that my face feels like a baby's bottom. I have tried so many scrubs. PTR's Botanical Buffing Beads, Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant, etc, etc, etc. Nothing has made my skin feel like this! It doesn't dry out my skin or make me break out. It's so expensive, but I will buy it again for sure. I use it every day, but sparingly. I also like that this doesn't leave the bits of residue on my face that other scrubs can leave. Rinses nice and clean. I finally found out what all the fuss is about this cult favorite. The SA at Barney's rattled off a list of celebs that buy this. I am just a simple valley girl who loves this and it's now on my HG list. I sure wish it cost less, but I will shell out the bucks for it. p.s. I love the convenient plastic pop top tube!

Tinted Moisturizer -MD Skincare by Dr. Dennis Gross - All-In-One Tinted Moisturizer
jamiefox 1/25/2004 12:38:00 AM
I LOVE this! My HG now for almost a year. It's the best tinted moisturizer with SPF (15) that I have tried and you name it, I have tried it. I love the coverage it provides and it doesn't settle into fine lines or pores the way foundation does. Never breaks me out, either! I love the convenience of the pump bottle. A great all in one product that provides moisture, spf and coverage in one. Another point for MD Skincare.

Crème -Chantecaille - real skin
jamiefox 1/19/2004 5:02:00 AM
I had such high expectations for this product. I had been wanting to try it for a very long time and I finally bought it at Barney's. I just wasn't impressed with the coverage. I get better coverage with my Dr. Dennis Gross/MD Skincare tinted moisturizer. I am sticking with that. I returned the Real Skin to Barney's after trying it about 5 times. Not worth the price. Minimal coverage.

Fragrances -L'Occitane - eau de miel (honey gentle water) [DISCONTINUED]
jamiefox 12/2/2003 2:19:00 AM
I ADORE this!!! I have been looking for a honey scented fragrance for years. Sephora used to make one but they discontinued it years ago. I was so thrilled to find this! I have been visiting the L'Occitane store for a long time and expressing to them that they should make a honey fragrance to go along with all of the other honey scented items that they carry. They finally brought out Eau De Miel Honey Gentle Water! YAY! I love that it's alcohol free and that I can spray it into my hair (to make it smell fresh and clean) without worrying about it causing dryness. This is light and sweet. It's not too sweet. I can't get enough of it and I am sure that I'll repurchase this. Adorable packaging too!!!

Conditioner -Kenra - Moisturizing Conditioner
jamiefox 11/11/2003 7:18:00 AM
I didn't find this at all moisturizing enough for my dry, highlighted (bleached) thick hair. I like conditioner to make my hair feel silky and slide through my fingers after I rinse it. This didn't do that. I will stick with Redken's All Soft Heavy Cream, Terax Crema, Feria Conditioner. I am returning this to Trade Secrets. This conditioner would probably be good if you have thin, less damaged hair.

Scrubs -DDF - Strawberry Almond Body Polish
jamiefox 10/11/2003 6:38:00 AM
I got this as a GWP. I wouldn't purchase this. The smell is not that great and my skin didn't feel that much nicer after using it. Can get a better product for less money.

Skincare - Face -Sonya Dakar - Drying Potion
jamiefox 10/14/2003 7:17:00 AM
I hate Sonya Dakar! She's a con artist and all hype. Not impressed at all with this product. The sales person swore by this for drying a zit. " All the celebrities use it...blah, blah, blah." Sorry. It wasn't anything remarkable. Plus it completely dried up in the bottle when it was still 3/4 full. Waste of money. Sonya Dakar is an obnoxious, pushy woman who is very 'hard sell' with her products, which are mediocre at best.

Lip Treatments -Paula Dorf - Perfect Illusion
jamiefox 10/9/2003 4:12:00 AM
I'm another fan of this great product! It kept my MAC Lipglass from bleeding into my lip lines and that was very gratifying. Paula Dorf just needs to make this pencil retractable. Even the SA admitted that to me.

Polishes -Revlon - Colorstay Nail color
jamiefox 10/6/2003 4:32:00 AM
Ooh La la! This stuff is fabulous! I had totally given up wearing red polish on my natural, not acrylic nails because it usually chips within a day or two. I have had this on for four days and so far and NO chipping! I bought it in 'Forever Scarlet'. I wasn't giving much hope for this not to chip, but this toulene and formaldehyde free polish is proving that it really does stay on for days longer with no chipping. I will rebuy this revolutionary product again.
