I bought this in the gunmetal color & I paid $20. I see a lot of asian people like this eyelash curler, which is why it may not work so well on myself. I agree with the previous reviewer. This curler manages to somehow pinch my lids, so I have to be extra careful when using this one. I've never had that problem with any other eyelash curler before in my life. I too, have honestly used better drugstore curlers than this one, & at a fraction of the price I paid for this one (my Revlon one actually works just as good, if not better). This eyelash curler still does the job, don't get me wrong...but do I think it's worth $20 & better than anything else I've ever used? No, definitely not. I'm happy so many people like it though. I'm going to keep it because it's not that bad & I can work with it, but it just takes a little longer & a little more practice with being careful. But in the future, I will probably try a different eyelash curler.
Cleansers -Cetaphil - Daily Facial Cleanser (Normal to Oily Skin)
italiana800 1/24/2013 10:43:00 PM
I used to use this face wash a long time ago. I recently tried it again & started to remember why I stopped using it in the first place. First off, this leaves my face overly dry & slightly irritated (also irritated my eyes), leaves a little bit of a film behind, & I never really noticed any long term results overall. For the price & the amount of product you get, this isn't a bad deal. I personally, just would rather pay a higher price & get a better face wash that I notice a visible difference with, & one I don't get an irritation with. Not the worst, but not that pleasant either. Also keep in mind I do not have oily skin, so this probably works best for people with oily skin. If you have even slightly dry or even normal skin, I wouldn't reccommend this.
Fragrances -Victoria's Secret - Angel Mist in Divine
italiana800 1/16/2013 12:53:00 AM
This mist smells horrible to me. This smells like straight up soap. Who wants a body mist that smells like soap? That's what the shower is for. I would never, ever buy this in a million years. I don't know who in their right mind would. I can't believe that VS took away the scent "Forever" from dream angels, but kept this one....that makes absoloutley no sense. "Forever" smelled like heaven compared to this. If you want a nice scent, buy "Heavenly" from dream angels, not this one. If you want to smell like dish washing detergent, buy this. If not, look elsewhere. Be warned.
This perfume smells really good. It has a nice scent that I can't quite put my finger on. It smells sweet, fruity, & floral all at the same time. The lasting power is decent, but the price is a little steep for how much perfume actually comes in the bottle. I tested this out in the store, but I didn't end up buying this one. I do plan on purchasing soon though.
I love this blush! I have Orgasm & Deep throat, I like this one much better for everyday use. This color looks totally different on skin than it does in the pan. This is like a peachy apricot with golden shimmer. Like another reviewer said, this is the color I hoped Orgasm would be. This blush also lasts all day on me. I will definitely buy this again....which will be in a 1009568 years since that's how long this will last. Trying this blush makes me wish I never bought Orgasm.
Styling Products -Aveda - Smooth Infusion Glossing Straightener
italiana800 12/15/2012 2:00:00 PM
This is the first Aveda product that I've used, & I have to say it works really well. The only thing I will warn anyone about would be that this can be heavy if you use too much, especially for people with fine hair. DO NOT put this near your roots, or your hair will look oily. If used in moderation, & closer to the ends of the hair, this product is great. This tamed my flyaways, controlled frizz, helped my hair straighten faster, & made my hair smooth & glossy. This also has heat protectant in it, which I'm always on the search for since I flat iron my hair frequently. I felt this product did a good job at protecting my hair from heat damage. This does have a citrusy scent, but once you style your hair you cannot detect the smell. The price is a little steep for as much product as you get, ($22). Granted, you only need to use 2 little globs, so it should last a while. Overall, good product & I would definitely buy this again once I run out.
Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Pravana Hydrating Intensive Leave-In Treatment
italiana800 11/16/2012 2:47:00 PM
This is the best leave in conditioner I've ever used. I've used all the top selling leave ins, & probably any of the others you can think of. None of the others even come close to this one. This leave in conditioner leaves my hair soft, smooth, silky, frizz free, manageable, and shiny. This also helps to prevent split ends & this smells amazing. This comes in a big spray bottle, & you have to shake it up before you spray it to mix the ingredients. This leave in actually has many different uses. Sometimes I spray it on my skin after I shave & it helps moisturize my skin. This also works very well if you spray this on a sunburn. For the quality & how much product you get, I will keep buying this leave in. My search for the perfect leave in has finally ended. I highly reccommend.
Luckily, my skin rarely breaks out. But when it does, I crush up a tablet of Aspirin & mix it with a little bit of water until it becomes pastey. Then, I carefully dab it on my pimples or breakouts; (either with a q-tip or clean fingers). I usually do this at night before going to bed because that is the time when your skin regenerates itself. When I wake up in the morning, the pimples are barely visible (if not, practically gone) & the redness has faded away. This also works great on red acne marks that have been left behind or have not faded completely. This is an awesome home remedy that is quick, easy, inexpensive, & works.
Hands down best self tanner I've ever used. The color you get is actually brown, & NOT orange. Amazing. I never thought I'd see the day that happened. I prefer this over the lotion because this doesn't transfer onto clothes. The only thing that is a downfall to this, is that this is a bit of a process. You have to rub this all over your body the best you can to get all the streaks out, & let it sit on your skin for a loooooonnnng time. So, if you're in a rush...this is not the answer for you. This is pretty expensive, but worth it. You definitely get what you pay for. I would definitely buy this again & you get a lot of product as well. The color you get is the closest tan to a "real" sun tan that you will probably get with any self tanner. People usually can tell when you're wearing a fake tan, but everyone actually thought I went to beach when I used this! This is good stuff. The only thing I would say is to make sure you shave first before applying this, put lotion on & let it absorb, & spend the extra $5 to buy the applicator mitt that is reccommended with this. It will save you a mess & a hassle.
Brows -Anastasia Of Beverly Hills - Anastasia Brow Gel
italiana800 10/17/2012 8:35:00 PM
This brow gel is amazing! This is honestly the only brow gel I've ever used, so I don't know the difference with any other ones. But, this one holds my brows in place all day long, without flaking. This definitely gives that perfect finishing touch to my face after I'm done with all my makeup. I have the clear brow gel, but they do sell this in colors like brown & black I believe. I never fill in my brows with pencil or anything, so I didn't see the need to buy this in a color. If you do, you may want to try getting this in one of the colors since I heard it will help to keep the color on your eyebrows. I would definitely reccommend this & I can't see myself without this in my makeup collection, especially on days when my eyebrows look crazy if I slept wrong! This is pricey, (around $25-$30 I believe), so I don't think I will be buying this frequently. I use this mostly for special occassions.
Primer/ Corrector -Tarte - Clean Slate Poreless 12 hr perfecting primer
italiana800 10/17/2012 8:24:00 PM
I don't like this primer at all. First off, this somehow makes my face oilier than it really is, which is the opposite of what this is "supposed" to do. This did not diminish the size or appearance of any of my pores, (which I really don't have a problem with anyway),...but still, this is targeted towards making your face appear as if it's "poreless." My makeup usually never has a problem with sliding off, but this stuff actually makes my makeup come off faster. So, within about an hour/2 hours of wearing this, I'm left with an oily/greasy face with my makeup starting to come off. The tube this comes in barely gives you anything & is super small, this wouldn't necessarily be a problem if it wasn't for the fact that this costs over $30 with tax! You do only need to use a little bit of this, but still a rip off in my opinion. I've used many primers, & this is close to one of the worst I've used. This isn't the worst because this did not break me out, (knock on wood). That's the only reason I even gave this a rating of 2. Iam definitely returning this tomorrow & I will keep using my beloved Smashbox Photo Finish Light primer. Works 100X better, & way more effective. I do not reccommend this primer at all. You can get way better primers that come with more for the money. On the flip side, my mom absoloutley loves this primer. So, I think this primer varies with different skin types.
I didn't really care for this mascara. I had higher expectations, especially for the fact that this costs $20. This mascara doesn't really give noticeable length or volume, it gives more of a natural look. Not that I mind the "natural look," but for a product with a name like "Bad Gal Lash," I guess you can say I didn't feel "bad" wearing this. I felt plain, very dissapointing. I have honestly used $5 drugstore mascaras that are way better than this, & I actually prefer them over this. The brush is the only thing I liked about this mascara. Iam going to return this (thanks to Sephora's amazing return policy), & pay the extra $5 to buy my Diorshow Blackout. Works way better.
This leave in conditioner was just okay, nothing special. This wasn't bad, but wasn't amazing either. This did leave my hair soft, but didn't really leave my hair feeling "conditioned." I don't think the price of this justifies the quality either. The only thing I thought was cool about this is how the product can spray out, & the pump never gets clogged up. I actually ended up returning this & getting my money back.
This oil is AMAZING. I use this after I'm done straightening my hair to help tame the flyaways & keep the frizz down. This works great! My hair instantly becomes soft, shiny, frizz free, & manageable...without getting oily or greasy! I agree with the previous reviewer, this oil absorbs really well, better than most other oils/serums I've used. It seems no matter how much I use, my hair will not become oily. For reference, I have naturally curly/wavy, thick hair...which I almost always straighten. I've used morroccan oil, macadamia oil, chi silk infusion, biosilk, it's a 10 styling serum, & matrix silk wonder oil. This one beats out alot of the others I've used. I have not used this in wet/damp hair, but like most oils, I think this would work better on dry hair. On the bottle, it says you can use this as a deep oil treatment while you sleep, or use a few pumps on your hair right before shampooing. I have not tried neither of those methods, but I will update once I do. The only complaint I have is the packaging. The cap falls off easily, so this is not ideal for traveling. There should be a way that the pump/dispenser locks in place when done using. This oil also smells amazing as well. I believe this is around $14, & I will definitely be buying this again once I run out.
This is a good product, don't get me wrong, but do I think it's worth paying $44? No. From reading all the reviews, I was expecting mind blowing results. Which, I didn't really get....but at the same time, this product didn't make my hair worse. To put it short, this product wasn't pheonmenal, but it wasn't terrible either. This product did make my hair shiny, soft, & smooth....but I've used many products that give me the exact same results, if not better & at a fraction of the cost. The smell of this kind of reminds me of a new car smell. This did also condition my hair to get rid of some of the dryness & this was virtually weightless in my hair. By no means is this a bad product, just not worth $44. For the results I got...I'll stick to the other products I use that do the same thing for cheaper. Maybe if your hair is pretty damaged you will notice a difference with using this, but if you have fairly healthy hair for the most part you will not notice a difference with using this. I think that's why this didn't work out as well for some people, (including myself).
